She stood upon the wooden deck, feeling the breeze roll across her, and observed the tropical horizon. One could never get enough of a glamorous view of the ocean, under a bright blue sky, as the rays of the sun rained down on the world. Amy Rose breathed in the fresh tropical air, and stared across the edge of the deck.
Amy held a soda in her hand and she sipped an ounce of it, then she put it down. Her fingers moved up, rolling through her quills, and she closed her green eyes while a breeze made its way into her nostrils. She opened her green eyes and staring at the big blue again.
Her hand grasped the snorkel, her feet wiggled into the soft flippers that rested next to her. That view was alluring, just enough, to go for a swim.
She turned, seeing her boyfriend, the blue hedgehog, napping on the lawn chair. And then, she looked back at the sea. Amy smiled and moved towards Sonic, the pink hedgehog gave him a peck on the cheek and then walked towards the edge of the deck. Amy's hands moved to the bundle of her robe, her fingers sank into the knot and began to undo them.
Amy pulled the laces back from each other and let the robe drop, she held the snorkel and stood on the deck in the red two-piece swimsuit and the skirt she had on. Her skirt rippled in the wind as she walked closer to the edge.
"You fishies okay with a hedgehog joining you?" Amy asked, looking down at the water.
Calm breaths left her lungs, her hair rippling in the breeze. And then, she leaped from the deck, her arms extended, and she dove into the blue. Water splashed and swirled around her, Amy placed the snorkel on her mouth at the last minute, allowing her to breathe in the water safely.
Rippling bubbles emerged from the tip, and Amy made sure to be careful with her breathing. She swam from the yacht, rotating her arms and kicking her legs, as she dove deeper into the great blue. Orange fish swam around her and Amy could see beauty down here, a carp swam past her, and she looked down to observe the abyss.
How the sea was a great mystery, with many wonders that had yet to be discovered by all the experts who'd studied the depths for years, and no one knew what they were looking for.
Amy swam downward, swimming further, and passing through a pair of fish that scattered as she came closer. A white shark passed her by, its eyes focused on another fish. Her teeth clenched the handle of her snorkel, and she held her breath, even with water flowing through her.
The pink hedgehog turned around, swimming back towards the deck, and then she turned to observe a clam laying on a rock.
Watery bubbles emerged from crevices in the rocks and surrounded Amy, seemingly granting her more air. And she thought Sonic was a little nuts when he talked about the times he inhaled bubbles to avoid drowning. Amy giggled in her mind, and continued her swim through the depths of the majestic big blue sea.
Just then, a mechanical fish appeared out of the haze, clicking its robotic jaws. Amy gasped, nearly dropping her snorkel. The sight of an Eggman robot was never a good sign, especially when it was one of those Jaws-model Badniks.
Amy calmed herself and prepared her hammer, ready to fight the Badnik. The Badniks attacked, aiming to take a bite from her neck. Amy swung the hammer and smashed the robot, freeing a fish that was trapped inside. However, another Jaws robot got the jump on her, and the snorkel fell from her mouth. Amy held her breath and fought back, knocking out the Badnik.
She reached for her snorkel, only to find it gone. Her optimism became replaced with dread and panic filled her lungs. Amy made a break for the surface, swimming as fast as she could, but the water was getting to her.
Her legs became heavy and her heart pounded intensely. The pink hedgehog's vision blurred, but Amy fought to stay awake, reaching for the surface and fighting for consciousness as best she could.
'Running out of oxygen...' Amy thought frantically, 'Must get to the surface...'
Now, she could feel her body become heavy, with water filling her up. Amy gasped, trying to reach the surface even more. All she could do now was think of Sonic, hoping he would help her. The pink hedgehog reached out, but it was overwhelming, and darkness slowly obscured her sight.
Amy saw something enter the water; someone was coming. She fought to remain conscious and hope filled her when she caught a glimpse of Sonic, his face filled with worry for her well-being...
Her vision fully returned, and she sat up, finding herself on the deck with a towel around her. Amy turned and saw Sonic next to her, drying himself off. Amy felt fresh air, seeing she was out of the ocean. The pink hedgehog breathed slowly and wiped some water from her forehead, feeling relief that she was okay, and it was all thanks to Sonic.
"Ya had me worried there for a minute, Ames." Her boyfriend remarked, he knelt down and kissed Amy on the forehead, filling the pink hedgehog with warmth. Amy smiled and held Sonic's hand, thanking him for preventing her from drowning...
The End
