The Front Line Season 01 Episode 04
Orm blasted at Aquaman when he tried to fight back against the gaurds and tells them "Take him away." while holding the trident in his hands and the guards proceed to do so with Orm then saying "General Brak ready the troops."
The general nods and leaves to go and do that while a woman had come in to speak with Orm in a hurry. "Orm, they said that my husband has returned is it true?"
"I wish it were Mera, but these are merely unfounded rumors." Orm stated to her about the situationg that's going on right now. "Don't worry Mera I'll take care of you, and your son."
"My son?" She'd questioned and ran over to the samll crib and pulled back the covers demanding "What have you done?"
"The prince will come to no harm as long as you cooperate. I assure you I am only doing what is best for Atlantis." Orm spoke before walking off as Mera was sobbing about her son, however Dan chose to reveal himself to her once they were gone.
He'd put his index finger up to his lips in a shushing motion and leans in whispering "Trust me." to her as he'd then vanished into thin air again.
We then see the rest of the Front Line except for Hawkgirl and Spider-Man in their ship and Diana says "Down there, that's Atlantis up ahead." while gesturing to where they were at.
"Take the ship down we'll try to get in quielty." Ben told them, however they'd been shot at indicating the Atlanteans already knew they were there.
"So much for quietly." Lok spoke taking the breathing device from the compatment handing one to Diana and using one for himself as they'd gotten out of the ship with Ben changing into Ripjaws once more and J'onn used his shapeshifting to give himself gills.
"Hold your fire, we come with an urgent message for your King." Ripjaws told them however the Atlantians began to attack them and they'd managed to take out the drivers without causing too much damage in the process and the larger ship prepared to attack but they'd broken the guns and Lok's eyes flashed to purple as he'd swung his sword at them creating a large gash that quickly flooded it with water.
They'd gotten closer to the city but some hidden guns fired spiked balls that began to blow when they came into contact with anything around them. They'd woken up with devices on them and Diana questions "Where is Aquaman? We came to warn him about a plot against his life."
"An Atlantean plot." Ben then adds in which angers Orm to hear them saying that and he'd pointed the Trident at them.
"Lies and Deceptions." Orm spoke blasting Ben with the trident and zapping him with electricity from it.
"Ow." Ben spoke falling over onto the floor as Orm looked impressed with himself. That was until Ben then had sat back up saying "Hey you wanna give that your A Game next time?" mocking the Atlantean prince and began to mess with the Dial on the Omnitrix.
"I sentence you to be executed, and then I will wipe out the surface world!" Orm yelled out in frustration at Ben's Mocking. as they were dragged away.
They'd been taken to a chamber where the group was put into cuffs to hold them to the wall and Diana calls "J'onn, can you phase throught?"
"No, some sort of Synaptic Discharge." They'd answered back as the room began to fill with water.
"Then we'll drown." Diana spoke worried as the water was rising up fast though Ben didn't look all that worried.
"Allow me." He spoke moving his hand and pushing in the dial of the Omnitrix that he'd popped open and set while they were distracted changing into Nanomech and flown over to Diana being in front of her eyes saying "Nanomech is too small for their weird device to work on."
He then then flew off and blasted at the Device on J'onn's head breaking it and letting the Martain phase out and he'd started to help the others though someone had bashed the two guard's heads with a metal club and we see that it was Mera who'd pulled the lever to set them all free. She'd then come over with the key and began to unlock their cuffs.
"You believe someone in Atlantis has betrayed my husband. I also fear for his life. But I need your help." Mera explained unlocking Dana's cuffs for her.
"You've got it." Lok spoke up saying that they'd help out while walking over with J'onn and Nanomech who'd changed back into Ben from a blinding flash.
We then cut back to Aquaman who was struggling to rip out some chains that were bolted to the side of a cliff that was over an underwater magma pit as Orm came down with his vehicle while asking "Enjoying the view?" as he'd done so.
"Destroying me won't make the people of Atlantis serve you." Aquaman stated while continuing to struggle as Orm got off of the vehicle.
"I know, that whole lineage thing can get a bit messy. Fortunately I have a solution." Orm then stated opening his vehicle and taking out Aquaman's son who was crying upset. "A pitty, the young prince will be another innocent victim of the surface dweller's aggression. Sadly that will make me the rightful heir to the throne." He then stabs his knife into the stone and hung the baby blanket with the young prince wrapped up in it before blasting the stone and leaving them to die.
Once Orm was out of sight Dan appeared in front of Aquaman saying "I got the whole thing." before noticing they were still getting closer to the Magma and adds "Wow it's getting hot fast, shall we go?"
The half ghost hero then picked up the prince and holding him so that he wouldn't fall and then grabbed Aquaman's wrist phasing the three of them through the stone that was falling and had helped the other two get away from the heat and back up to cooler waters. Once they were safe he then handed the young prince to the king to show that he was truthful about wanting to help.
"Cutting it a bit close don't you think?" Aquaman questioned taking his son who'd grabbed his hair and began to play with it calming down and starting laugh now that he was back safe and sound in his father's arms.
"Sorry about that, I had to get Orm's little speech. You know how bad guys like to monologue." Dan apologized as the three were now headed back towards Atlantis.
We cut back to J'onn appearing phasing up from the ground saying "We've searched the entire palace and haven't found them." which started to upset Mera.
"That's because you've been looking in the wrong place." Dan spoke walking into the room alongside Aquaman and moved out of the way so that Mera could see that her husband and son were okay.
"My love, you've come back with our son!" Mera cried happy to see they were okay and hugged her husband who'd let her take their infant to better comfort her knowing that their child was safe in her arms again.
"Where is Orm?" The King then questions as to where the man that left them to die was exactly wanting to have some words with them.
We then cut to the medics closing up some cuts and things that Aquaman got from fighting the guards while they were trying to lock him into his shackles that Dan got him out of earlier and Ben's badge had began to make sounds so he'd picked up while Aquaman was being treated.
Spider-Man appeared from a holographic projection saying "Ben, we've got a situation up at the North Pole. Thermal readings show that the tempratures are increasing rapidly."
"If that keeps up the ecological effect could be catastrophic." J'onn spoke hearing what was happing from the projection too.
"Then let's check it out." Lok spoke saying they should head over to check things out. "Some of us can go check it out while the rest handle things here."
"There may be a connection, a Device the Atlanteans built called the Doomsday Thermo Reactor." Aquaman stated to them about what's happening right now. "It was designed to create a complete poalr meltdown. It was meant to be a last resort only to be used should the Surface World attack and we've expended all other options. But I never had it armed."
"Then Orm must have done it instead using the missing plutonium from the submarine." Dan suggested to them.
"If the polar caps melt then the world will sink beneath the waves." Ben spoke turning to leave adding "Orm must be stopped or everything goes."
"And he will be, I'll see to it myself." Aquaman states standing up now that his wounds were treated.
We then cut to Aquaman swimming up to the caps and jumping onto the ice walking across it and Lok calls out "Aquaman wait." with the others catching up and following him.
"Why are you following me?" The king of Atlantis questions as they'd continued to follow after him.
"Like it or not we have a stake in what's happening here too. You wanna fight Orm yourself, go for it but We're going to shut down the machine and take down anyone that gets in our way." Ben stated to Aquaman about what's going on.
Before any more could be said they'd been attacked as large atlantean ships rose up from under the ice and began to blast at them. Ben hit the Omnitrix and changed into Arctiguana as they'd all began to fight and Dan phased them through the explosions before letting go throwing them forwards as Diana had bashed one of the guns and Aquaman did the same to another.
"Looks like it's time to bring out the big guy. Bring it on Powerbonded Baselaird!" Summoning a large man with a sword where his hand should be and they were in large gold armor. "Powerbonded Baselaird, I need your Focus Blade." He'd then called with the large titan nodded and powereing up Lok's Willblade as Lok's eyes flashed to purple turning the energy that color too. "Alright, Shooting Slash!"
Lok had then slashed purple colored energy at the Atlantiean Ships slicing the tops off of them in the process while Baselaird had unleashed a yellowish gold energy doing the same as they'd been handling things. Arctiguana meanwhile had been blasting botht he Atlanteans and the Ice Caps freezing everything that got in the pathway of his frozen iceray like breath to keep them from melting away.
Aquaman had summoned a whale tha the'd jumped on the back of and went to go contront Orm using it to get ahead of the others while they were still fighting and entering a cave saying "Come on, I know you're still following." Making Dan appear.
"I'm not going to fight Orm, you can relax on that. I'm going to fight everyone else and shut down the machine." Dan stated to Aquaman telling him that Orm was all theirs as he just wanted to stop everything from melting.
Orm had appeared after trying to blast Aquaman though Dan created a shield and Aquaman gave him an annoyed look though Dan simply shrugged in response and moved out of the way as the two Atlanteans began to fight against one another as he began to mess with the controls trying to shut down the device.
Aquaman then knocked down Orm saying "It's over brother." as the trident had fallen from Orm's grasp. Though he'd quickly picked up the Trident again.
"You're right." Orm stated before blasting the reactor saying "The tide is against you, the Reactor can't be shut down anymore, and you've lost."
However someone tapped Orm on the shoulder and he'd turned to look towards who wanted his attention with Dan saying "Hold this." and handing them the very hot plutonium rod that'd previously been in the machine making them freak out and start playing hot potato with it and dropped the Trident by Mistake before dropping the rod in the snow.
Aquaman picks up the Trident and says "I believe this is mine." as Orm had turned towards him only to get blasted into the Machine by Aquaman as it'd blown and both the reamins of the machien and Orm dropped into the casm that'd opened up.
"Well that was Cold blooded. I kinda liked it." Dan stated as He picked up the Plutionium now cooled by the snow and they'd walked out together.
"Hey isn't Plutonium dangerous for surface dwellers?" The blond questioned looking over at them.
"Nah, I'm half ghost so Most radiation doesn't really have an effect on me." Dan explained to them as Aquaman seemed surprised to hear that part.
"Oh do tell." The king of Atlantis spoke as the two had casually been walking outside to go meet up with the others who'd taken down the other forces.
We then cut to the general and his men trying to explain that they were only following orders, however Aquaman didn't believe them and says "Get them out of my sight." and they were taken away as he'd then let out a sigh saying "I can only blame myself, I let my fear of the surface world, a world I was once a part of, blind me to the real threats. It almost costed something more precious than all the gold in Atlantis." while looking over at his wife and their infant son.
"Hey, everyone makes mistakes, look at me. I used to be a villain. Now I'm a member of a team of Superheroes." Dan stated to them trying to help Aquaman feel better.
"All I've ever wanted is peace and secruity for Atlantis." The King then stated looking out the window overlooking the city.
"After everything that happened it won't be easy." Lok told him walking over to look out at Atlantis as well.
"I know, but some sacrifices are worth it." Aquaman answerd back looking over at his wife and their son glad all of this was over.
