The Front Line Season 01 Episode 05
We see that Spider-Man was in the middle of a battle with Green Goblin who'd been throwing pumpkin bombs at him which were exploding around them. "I don't know how you got out of prison Gobby, but I know how you're going back!"
"Oh you know, gift here, bribe there. It pays well to be one of the richest businessmen on earth." Goblin stated throwing a spinning blade at him and cutting their webline letting them fall, though he'd quickly recovered and webbed the Glider pulling himself up with it.
The Green Goblin had let out a twisted laugh before holding his sides and crashing his Glider on a rooftop with the wallcrawler coming over calling out "Norman!" as he'd gone to check on them to see what happened.
We then see Norman waking up in a hospital bed noticing Spider-man was standing at the foot of it and sits up but Spidey spoke before he could telling them "Easy Norman, you're at a Plumber's medical facility. This is Doctor Patel, he's got something important to say."
The Doctor then went over reading the charts and says "Mister Osborn you've had a seziure, has this by chance happened to you before?" Though Norman just started at them annoyed. "The test results show that you have a rare form of blood poisoning."
"Impossible." Norman spoke taking the clipboard to read the results of the tests for himself to see how bad it was.
"Apparently you had dormant cancerous cells that were mutated by your use of the Globulin Green." The wallcrawler explained to Norman about what happened.
"I'm afraid it's terminal." Dr. Patel stated to Norman about his condition telling him the bad news "I'm afraid we don't have a cure and I don't know if we'll find one before.."
"Before I die from the dissease of my own making." Norman sighed in response to the news when the Doctor had taken a pause in what he was saying. "Wait, what about Harry!? He jused himself too." He'd then questioned remembering what Harry had been doing.
"We've brought him in for testing as well, his results were in the clear. You cutting him off halfway into football season may have saved his life in the process." The webslinger answered back saying that he had Harry tested too and that Harry was in the clear.
"I suppose that's one good thing I've managed to do then isn't it." Norman sighed in response to what was going on but did seem releived that Harry was going to be okay taking at least some comfort in the fact that he'd stopped his son from sharing in his fate.
"He's just outside if you want to see him." Spider-Man then told Norman gesturing towards the door and Norman nodded so he'd left the room.
Spider-Man had walked out and gestured for Harry to go inside letting him speak with his father and we see that the rest of their friends were there too including Liz who'd gone to speak with Spider-Man as he was preparing to leave.
"Hey Petey, are you alright?" Liz had questioned him as they'd gone up to the rooftop garden area where Spidey took his mask off and sighed.
"I dunno Liz, Norman was supposed to be a mentor to me, not to mention my best friend's dad." Peter stated to her as the two sat down on a bench that was up there before then adding "Turns out he's one of my worst enemies. I just don't know what to do Liz, even with his dissease he still has to be taken into custody no matter how much I don't like it."
"You've always tried to do the right thing as Spider-Man Petey, no matter how hard it was." She'd told him leaning in and kissing her boyfriend for a moment before pulling away and saying "We all trust you to do what's right."
Later on Spider-Man had been swinging around the city to clear his head when he'd heart an explosion and went to see just what's going on finding a building on fire and seeing cops and firefighters were on the scene though a girl had been caling out for help and he'd webbed his way into the building.
Spidey had gone over to the girl who says "I'm scared." while the wallcrawler had been picking them up.
"Don't worry we'll get you out of here in no time." He tells the girl picking up a sheet that hadn't been on fire.
He then takook a cartridge from his webshooter throwing it into the fire causing it to overheat and explode webbing everywhere putting out the flames that were nearby the window as he'd used the sheet to block them from being covered in webbing as well. Spider-Man had then thrown the sheet onto the floor with the web covered side facing downwards he'd then ran to get the two of them free as Hawkgirl had appeared grabbing them when they'd gone out the window and sat both of them on the ground with the girl then running over to her father.
"Thanks for the assist. But what are you doing here?" Spidey spoke to the woman with birdlike wings wondering why she was there.
"You didn't hear, your green friend managed to escape with some help from a new guy." Hawkgirl stated about what's been going on and Spidey nods in response.
"Ya, I heard about that, didn't think you'd be searching same place I am." The wallcrawler stated as Ben had come over with Lok.
"Either of you pick up the trail?" Ben questioned if they'd found Norman and this guy that they'd joined forces with.
"Not yet, but we're searching." Hawkgirl stated before they'd heard over police radio that the Ultra Humanite was holding people hostage and so they'd gone to stop them.
They'd found this Ultra Humanite guy holding a woman hostage when Spider-Man webbed their gun and jerked it from their hands as Ben came in as fourarms and tackled them making him let go of the girl and Spidey went to check on her as Hawkgirl flew in along with Diana.
"Look for other hostages." He'd called out at the two who'd nodded and headed inside. "Don't worry, you're safe now." He'd then stated to the woman.
The woman however says "But you're not." and claws at him as his spidersense told him to move back allowing him to dodge it.
Diana had been checking rooms when a large man with grey skin and white hair burst from one of the rooms and attacked her as Fouramrs had slammed Ultra Humanite against the wall. moving his face close to their ear before noticing Diana being knocked down through the floor.
Fourarms looked slightly concerned when this guy jumped onto Diana from the second floor and was blasted in the back as we see Khyber the Huntsman saying "Surprised?"
Meanwhile The woman had her disguise thrown off revealing it was Black Cat as she'd clawed at Spider-Man when his spidersense went off and he'd just barely dodged an oncoming attack from behind with a guy in green armor and a mechanical tail had appeared to attack them as well. "Alright who's this guy?" Spidey questioned since he'd never seen this new guy.
"Call me, Scorpion." The guy spoke making the tail swing towards the webslinger who'd moved out of the way of the blade and grabbed it throwing him into the wall.
Meanwhile the big guy had started to attack Fourarms pounting his fists into him but Hawkgirl had come down swinging her electrified mace at him and bashing them into one of the pillars holding up the second floor's indoor balcony.
Black Cat went to try to attack but was grabbed by Wonder Woman inside her rope demanding "Put me down!"
However Lok had come past saying "Relax this will all be over soon." and began to go try to find the rest of the hostages then called out "Hyperstride!" and began to run very fast around the area.
As he'd been doing so a man had appeared from one of the shadows saying "That's what you think." and blasted at them with his cane sending shadows out at him and knocking Lok into a wall.
He'd the blasted Hawkgirl with his cane making the darkness cover her but Spider-Man came in and kicked him in the head making them drop freed Hawkgirl who had to catch her breath but Spidey was shot at by Khyber who'd then shot a large pipe above Wonder Woman making her let go of Black Cat as she'd had to break the pipe so it wouldn't hit her, and Cat had began to run off while freeing herself from the rope.
Spider-Man went to confront The Goblin who'd shot at Wonder Woman, though she'd deflected it with her bracelets sending it back and damaging the spot where he'd been standing. Meanwhile Scorpion had managed to stab the wallcrawler with the blade on his tail and he'd grabbed them for doing so throwing the green clad villain into a wall.
"I got you Goblin, hold on." Ultra Humanite spoke helping up the Goblin as the guy in black with the cane had moved towards them.
"They're too organized, we need to retreat. It's either that or back to prison." The man with the cane stated to them waiting for him to make a decision.
"Alright, do it. We have what we came for anyway." Goblin told them and he'd covered the place and surrounding area in darkness to cover their escape.
We hear a call of "Double Spell, Boltflare!" as Lok created two magical orbs of light that lit up the room and burning away the darkness around them. "Looks like they're gone."
"We've still got one of them." Diana spoke finding Scorpion still on the ground from where Spider-Man had thrown him into the wall.
"Ya, but they got one of ours too." Fourarms says to them discovering that Spidey was on the ground and had been stung by Scorpion's blade.
Everything fades from the scene as it moved to the watchtower before fading in further where J'onn was alongside Ben saying "The venom antidote seems to be working."
Ben turns towards Spider-Man who'd had his mask pulled up to just up over his nose so he could breathe properly and says "Welcome back, we were afraid we'd lost you."
"Green Goblin and the others?" The webslinger questioned them wanting to know what happened.
"All but Scorpion managed to get away." J'onn answered telling them that only Scorpion had been captured and the rest gave them the slip.
"Alright, let's go interrogate this guy." Spider-Man then spoke while starting to get up though Ben put his hand on their shoulder.
"That venom almost killed you, you're staying put and recovering from what happened." The Omnitrix wilder told him saying to just rest and recover before heading out.
Almost immidately after Ben was out the door Spider-Man took the needle from his arm and left as well and had gone to a monitor typing on it while J'onn says "You really should be resting."
"I know it must be hard with you being the one who got stung but you don't need to prove anything to me or t"I'm taking the shuttle. Unless you wanna try to stop me?"" Spider-Man then cut off the Martian saying that he was going now asking if he wanted to try to stop him.
"No." J'onn stated moving aside letting Spider-Man leave as he didn't want to fight them but added "I do wish you'd rest though."
"How'd that old saying go.. I can sleep when I'm dead?" Spidey answered back looking over at the Martain but then turned and headed off.
We then cut to Spider-Man slowly decending from a webline inside a building as he'd noticed that the villain group was playing cards and his spidersense went off just in time for him to turn and see Doc Oct as he'd been bashed by a heavy pillar that'd broken on impact sending him falling onto the table below breaking it in the process.
