The Front Line Season 01 Episode 08
Raven had managed to undo the spell that'd made them see each other as monsters and Diana looks at the final bit of the artifact saying "Powerful forces are at work here." and the com began to go off.
"Diana, we found something on Faust and will meet you there." Hawkgirl stated over the communicator.
We then see them checking around Felix's place with the group now consisting of Raven, Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl, Gwen Tennyson, Danielle Phantom, Ghost Spider, and Sophie Lambert. All of whom were searching around the place.
"Where'd he get all this stuff anyway, Warlock's-R-Us?" while checking out a staff accidentally making the eye open on it and shoot a bolt of energy which Gwen put put a shield for and Hawkgirl grabbed the staff from Danielle.
"Don't touch anything, we have no idea just what kind of powers we're dealing with." Hawkgirl stated putting the staff away.
"Felix was a respected archeologist but soon grew facinated by the archane arts and was kicked out for his crazy ideas, soon after three coleagues had gone missing." Sophie stated to them.
"It gets worse, I just found his diary. one of the last entries mentions Tartarus." Raven pointed out showing them the entry.
"Isn't that just a myth?" Ghost Spider questioned about it as Diana walked over to an urn that had old art of Hades on it.
"I wish it were, Long ago my mother had fallen in love with Hades, but when war broke out between the gods and their ancient foes the titans, Hades struck a traitorous deal with the titans. He would deliver Olympus to the titans, but in exchange he'd be giving dominion over humanity." Diana began to explain to them about what happened. "Hades tricked my mother into opening the gates to Olympus to the invading titans and a battle broke out of which the muses still sing of."
"What happened next?" Danielle questionwed wanting to know how that whole thing played out in the end.
"The gods fought back and eventually prevaled, as punishment for his crimes Zeus cast Hades into the pits of Tartarus where he would rule over the dead for all eternity. And for her unwitting role in Hades plot, my mother was charged with guarding the gate to the underworld to make sure that the gate remained sealed she broke apart the only key and hid it across the globe." Diana stated finishing her story about what they'd been doing. "Mother told me she kept one of the pieces in the temple as a daily reminder of her eternal shame."
"There's only one reason that Faust would want the key." Raven spoke putting it back together and showing it to them. "He wants to use it to open the gates of the underworld."
"The gateway is beneath Themyscira." Diana told them about where they'd have to go. "If I don't give the key to him then my mother and the others will remain petrified forever."
"Maybe not, I borrowed a little something that just might help." Sophie stated with a mischevious smile on her face.
We then cut to Diana flying into the throne room calling out "Faust!" as she'd done so and landed with a cloth covering the stone key.
"Back so soon? And with hours to spare, I'm rather impressed. Did you bring the relics?" Faust spoke checking the hourglass that he'd made appear.
Diana revealed that she'd done so and says "First, free my mother!" demanding that her mom be set free first.
"Oh yes of course." Felix spoke using the talisman to free Hippolyta from the stone and she'd shoved the key into him running over to her mom.
"Mother, are you alright?" Diana questions worried about her mom having been turned to stone for so long.
"After three thousand years, the key is finally complete." Faust spoke with an impressed tone seeing the device.
"Diana, what have you done?" Hippolyta questioned as Faust had turned towards them with a satisfied smirk.
"Well, now that your usefulness has ended.." The magical user spoke pointing the talisman at them again but a webline came from no where and pulled the stone tablet away. "What?" he'd questioned as Hawkgirl had come in and punched the magician.
"Female heroes from Man's world." Diana stated about who she'd brought with her and the two waved hello.
Faust created attacks of energy as an orb of energy struck him in the back in return. "You're not the only one with magic y'know." Gwen stated as Faust began throwing more energy attacks all over the place.
The magician threw out seeds covering the path as he'd grabbed Diana's mom and zapped her and dragged her away long with the key as Danielle phased into the ground and started blasting the roots freeing the vines though they'd gotten away using a teleportation spell.
"Gone." Raven spoke coming in seeing that they'd managed to get away from the group leading the amazon women into the temple along with Sophie who'd had a very large horned creature with her.
"The pathway is too large for the army, you sisters must stay in case we fail and drive back the hoard." Diana spoke to the amazonian women of her island. "The rest of you can follow me."
Wonder Woman then led the way down to an underground part of the city that could be a ruined city in and of itself and the place began to shake as they hear old mechanisms twisting around like doors in an ancient temple and tried to rush their way over.
They'd discovered a man in armor who'd rapidly aged Faust into that of an old man and Diana had cut her mother free by splitting the chains with a sword grabbing her by the hand and says "Hurry mother." As the two began to run.
"Hippolyta, you didn't tell me you had a daughter." The man spoke before blasting fire from his mouth at the two of them.
Hawkgirl had flown over swinging her mace and bashing the guy in the head angering him as he'd smacked her away with the back of his hand and the others came in to try to fight them too.
"Doublespell, Augerfrost!" Sophie called out blasting icy blue energy from her hands at the man as he'd simply burned through the attack.
"Is that the best you can really do?" The man questioned them "I am Hades remember?"
"I just needed you to look over here, King Basilisk!" She'd answered back as the titan landed in front of them and blasted Hades with their energy causing him to slowly start to turn to stone.
"I.. Will Not.. Be.. DENIED!" Hades called out blasting at them and sending King Basilisk back to his amulet while shattering the stone around him freeing himself from King Baslilisk's power. "I must commend you, trying the power of the Gorgons on me using the Basilisk isn't all that bad of a plan, had I not been a god anyway."
Someone tapped Hades on the shoulder and he'd turned to see Ghost Spider who'd called "Heads up." before bashing him with a shield and denting the metal causing it to wrap around his head while knocking him back just slightly.
This angered Hades and he'd pulled the metal off of his head and struck Ghost Spider into a pillar as Danielle appeared saying "Hello." before taking a deep breath and unleashing her ghostly wail against them causing pains to his eardrums as the force of the scream had pushed him just slightly though he'd blasted fire at her knocking Danielle away.
"You dare to challenge a god!?" He'd demanded and began to cause the ground around him to break apart as he was making it rise like a platform underneath his feet and summoning skeletal hoards of what remained down there saying "Behold the fate of all heroes!"
Everyone started fighting with the army as Gwen calls out something burning the skeletons around her while Raven began to blast at the skeletons as well, and they'd started out overhwelmed but had slowly started to whittle down the skeletons of the army.
"They're endless, how can we overcome them?" Wonder Woman called questioning what to do to stop them.
"You can't." Hades called out floating above the group as they'd continued fighting the armies of the undead. He'd then blasted at Sophie and Gwen with his fire, and then done the same with Hawkgirl and Ghost Spider while laughing. "You Mortals are such fools believing you can stop me."
He'd been blasted in the back by Faust and made to reveal his demonic form which angered him and he'd blasted at them as Danielle tried to help the old guy causing both of them to be knocked back. "Now you see his true form." Hippolyta spoke about seeing his real face.
Hades blasted at them and Raven created a barrier around Diana and her mother angering the demonic god who'd truck Raven knocking her to the ground before blasting at her with fire as a red colored aura created a dome around the girl at the last second.
"What?" Hades demanded confused seeing the aura that protected Raven from his attack and began looking around for where it came from.
"HHHHAAAADDDDEEEEEEEESSS!" A very angry and imposing voice called out shaking the entire island with it's booming presence as if that alone fightened the very land that they stood upon.
A very large man with red skin and antlers like that of a crown appeared causing everyone and everything to stop what they were doing all at once. Even Hades' hoard of undead felt the need to bow before the man that now stood in front of them as he'd galre four massive glowing red eyes at the lord of the underworld causing him to take a step back.
"Who. Is. That?" Hawkgirl questioned as she could sense immense power coming from the man that'd appeared in front of them.
"That, would be. My dad." Raven explained while getting up standing behind the large demonic figure that'd easily dwarfed that of Hades nearly ten times over.
"Are you alright daughter?" Trigon questioned Raven as she was knocking the dust and soot off of herself.
"I'm fine daddy." Raven answered looking up at the larger of the Demonic entities that had been standing in front of her.
"You dare to raise your hand to MY Daughter?" Trigon spoke with fury in his voice staring down the so-called god in front of him.
You could actually hear Hades gulp while staring at the entity in front of him as the larger of the two took a step forwards and slammed his massive fist into the ground leaving an imprint of the lord of the underworld. long with his massive fist around them like a crater before then picking him up and throwing him into a wall.
"You want to play with fire? Then let me show you how you'll get burned." Raven's father spoke taking a deep breath and unleashed a massive blast of flames that'd burned the fur of Hades' true form and lef the metal of his armor burning red hot causing them to freak out and try to find a place to cool it down.
"Diana, the key!" Hippolyta called out too her daughter who'd nodded and had ran towards the artifact and tried to grab it but was shot back with an electric pulse.
"Allow me." The massive demon spoke ripping out the key with ease and crushing it into his hands making the gates begin to suck everything in that wasn't bolted down though the ladies had been protected from this with Gwen's magic barrier while Faust truned to dust and was sucked into the gateway along with Hades.
"Who is this demonic entity?" Diana questioned wondering just what the name of the man that'd easly ragdolled Hades was meant to be.
"That'd be Raven's dad Trigon." Danielle stated to them which surprised basically everyone who hadn't known this and caused them to look afraid as he'd turned and set his sights on them.
"Daughter, you've learned much of the mysic arts, but it's clear you haven't been properly studying that of the demonic ways. If you had you'd be capable of easily defeating the likes of Hades. This will not do, starting now you will spend your Saturdays under demonic training with me." Trigon then stated to them and caused Raven to pout in response to what her dad said to them.
"Yes dad." She'd sighed really not looking forwards to more studdying and the massive demon then vanished in a burst of demonic flames.
We then cut to when they were preparing to leave unlike in the show since she didn't bring men to the island Diana was not exiled, however her mother had believed that it was best that Diana leave with her friends since they'd made such powerful allies in Man's world.
