The Front Line Season 01 Episode 09
We actually start with Peter out on a date with Liz at a cafe as they'd had a window seat and were chatting together and he'd satated "So how have things been going while I'm away doing Front Line stuff?"
"Well, your old team managed to beat back the sinister six again." Liz had stated about what happened back while he was away.
"Right, I've ready the Cluster's reports. I was actually more asking about you specifically." Peter stated about his old team reporting that stuff to him and had asked about how his girlfriend was doing.
"Well, Mark's been clean for almost a year since he got out of Juvy. They say he'll get to graduate on time if he keeps up his grades." His girlfriend stated to him about things going on in her life.
"Hey that's great news." He'd answered back hearing that Liz's brother was gonna be able to make it after all.
Liz nodded in response before say "I've been considering a part time Job, but I'm not quite sure what'd be best with school and needing time to study and cheerleading and everthing. Any suggestions?"
"Freelancing is what I did before joining the PHD. Maybe you could try getting photos of the different landscapes around and sell them to magazines and stuff." Peter answered back about what he used to do.
"What about joining the Plumbers?" She'd asked about doing that instead. "I mean, your Cluster are all Plumbers right?"
"Well, do you wanna fight the sinister six and other superpowered criminals?" He'd then asked her outright if that was something that interested her and she'd givine him an annoyed look thought he quickly added "I'm not trying to discourage you or anything Liz, I just wanna make sure you know the risks before you decide to join is all."
Suddenly his spider sense began to go off and he'd pulled up the table blocking the window as he'd then grabbed Liz and moved away from there and they'd heard tires screeching as a vehicle then came crashing through the window.
"You alright?" He'd questioned his girlfriend who nodded. Peter quickly handed her some cash and says "Time to go to work." before running towards the back entrance and out into the alleyway. Not long after we then see Spider-Man coming into the window and ripping open the vehicle of the person who crashed into the diner. "You alright?" He'd then questioned the man in the vehicle.
"He's a madman, ran me right off the road someone's gotta stop him!" The guy in the vehicle shoulded pushing his airbags out of the way showing that he was thankfully alright.
"Someone will." Spidey then stated leaving through the window and webswinging off to go after the truck that'd crashed into the guy's vehicle that was now in the diner.
He'd swung across the city where the truck was crashing through various vehicles and he'd been helping by using his webbing to jerks the doors open for the emergency responders to get to the people faster while the guys in the truck began to shoot at him. One of the buildings had began to brake apart and Anti-Venom showed up creating a net of webbing to catch the rubble waving and letitng Spider-Man continue after the truck.
The guys continued to try to attack Spider-Man but ran out of ammo and had thrown the gun at him which he'd easily avoided continuing after them. "Times like this I wish I had a spidercycle." Spidey thought aloud to himself before landing ont he side of the truck and cralwed over towards the driver side window knocking on it before calling "Pull over!"
The driver began to do just that, but with Spidey still on there and tried to crush him on the side of the bridge they were on though he'd dodged it and the truck had scraped hard. This caused the driver to loose control and swerve around before the truck then had tipped over scraping across the bridged and he'd began to web at it and pulled hard as it'd busted the side of the bridge. Though didn't fall over at first as Spider-Man was pulling it back over however the rubble under it gave way and it began to sink slowly with Spidey still trying to keep it from falling into the water below.
Something had caused it to stop falling and began to slack slightly with the wallcrawler pulling hard on it tightening the web line as he did so and he'd seen that Dan Phantom had been helping him pull it up. "So, you loose something?" The half ghost questioned as they'd set the truck down safely onto the bridge.
"I was handling it, but thanks for the help." The webslinger stated in response to his teammate helping them out. "So what brings you here anyway?"
"Responding to a police call about some stolen radioactive isotopes." Dan answered back as they'd gotten the driver and passenger out of the truck and they'd began to come to while looking confused.
"What's going on, where am I?" The Driver questioned looking around confused as Dan opened up the doors on the back of the truck.
"You hijacked a truck and then drove it off a bridge, any of this ringing a bell?" Spider-Man questioned the driver.
"Let's see some ID." Dan spoke using his ghost powers to get their IDs and reads out "Professor Arthur chin and Doctor Mark Stevens. Both work over at the research facility where the Isotopes were stolen from."
"And here I feel guilty when I take paperclips from the watchtower." The webslinger jokes leaning against the door of the truck with his arms folded.
"Let's see if we can managed to get to the bottom of this shall we?" The half ghost spoke and we then fade over to the research lab in question.
They'd been speaking to a woman who says "I'm sorry I can't explain their behavior, they're both respected experts in their fields."
"Well they certainly don't fit the profile of armed robbers." Dan stated reading over the men's profiles.
"To be fair they've both been under a lot of pressure to finish their current projects. It's possible they simply snapped under the strain." She'd then stated to them about what she'd known about them.
"And what are they working on?" The half ghost hero questions turning through the pages of their profiles as the woman takes the folder back.
"That's classified information." She'd stated to them closing the folder as she'd done so while Spider-Man was watching while up on the wall. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have work to do."
"Well that was a bust." Spider-Man stated annoyed once they'd left the lab and he'd recieved a call from Agent Venom through their plumber badges.
"You guys aren't gonna believe this, we've got a gorilla driving a sportscar." Agent Venom told them 'In particular this one seems to be a cross river dark skinned albino gorilla given the skin and fur color, it's not one easily found in the wild.' The symbiote stated inside of the hero's head.
"How do you even know that? There's no way Parker knows everything you've told me." Agent Venom spoke to the Symbiote while continuing to follow them on their weblines. 'I like to read' The symbiote stated back to him inside his head.
"Great, I'm permanently bonded to a nerd." The symbiote clad hero spoke aloud while they chased the gorilla.
Spider-Man had soon joined them along with Dan and the former sees the Gorilla saying "Well there's something you don't see everyday."
Dan then blasted the tires out casuing them to swerve and making the vehicle fall over to one side. "Alright time to get you back behind some monkeybars." He'd then stated putting his hand on the gorilla's shoulder.
"Take your hands off of me you filthy.. hu..man?" The gorilla began to say but had become confused seeing Dan's flaming hair and unnatural skin color and then sees the two spider themed heroes as well.
We see the woman aiming some strange weapon at Spider-Man but he'd dodged it when she tried to shoot him and she'd had to run when they'd spotted her. "I'll cut her off." Dan stated creating coppies of himself and all of them flew off ahead to go after the woman.
"Alright how's about you explain what's going on?" Spider-Man questioned the gorilla wanting to know just wha'ts going on.
"Who, or what eve are you?" The gorilla questioned having never seen anyone like them before. "I have never seen humans like yourself."
"I'm Spider-Man, this is Agent Venom. The one that just left was Dan Phantom." Spidey answered the gorilla's question.
"Sup?" Agent Venom spoke in greeting "So, mind telling us what a talking gorilla is doing in New York?"
"My name is Solovar. I'm chief of secruity for Gorilla city." The gorilla now known as Solovar spoke giving them his name.
"Gorilla City, really?" Agent Venom questioned hearing the name of the place where he's from thinking he was joking.
"I assure you that it's no laughing matter." Solovar stated to them in response. "Safely hidden from humanity we apes have lived in peace for thousands of years. Until a powermad genius by the name of Grodd tried to conquer our city with advanced mind control technology. We were able to thwart his plot but couldn't prevent his escape. It wasn't until later that we discovered he'd stolen our cities security plans."
"So that's why you're here?" Spider-Man questioned hearing the story of what happened and why they were actually there.
"Yes, it is my job to stop him and prevent him from threatening anyone else." The gorilla told them explaining just what happened.
"Guess that explains the Isotopes that were being stolen." Dan stated as he'd risen up from the groun and his coppies remerged with him.
"He needs the Isotopes to power his devices." Solovar told them before leading them to his vehicle and handing over some papers adding "My investigation shows he'd been carrying on email corrospondance with a local scientist Dr. Sarah Corwin."
"Well then let's go." Agent Venom spoke up saying that they should all go after them already growing impatient.
"Wait, first you must wear these protective headbands. They will prevent Grodd from being able to force his influence over you. Unfortunately I only have three with me." The gorilla stated showing them the bands.
"Guess that means it's just us." Spider-Man stated taking a band as Dan did so as well while Solovar put the final one on himself.
"Uh, guys.. what's that?" Agent Venom questioned as a strange energy field had forced itself around them and everything causing the whole city to seemingly vanish leaving only a crater in it's wake.
