AUTHOR'S NOTE:
Hello friends! Lately, I've been rewatching A&A and I re-remembered that it has been one of my all-time favorite TV series for years, as well as my comfort show. I always adored this show, and I remembered the plot of the episodes and the songs, but I decided to start rewatching the show again! Frankly, Austin and Ally has aged like fine wine and it continues to age like wine.
I promise to update this story as often as I can, but I am going to school and also working full-time. Also, I have some Writer's Block, anxiety, and depression, so sometimes I might need to take care of myself. They are insidious and sneak up on me when I don't even expect it. But I promise, I will update this story as often as possible.
Ally Dawson-Moon snuggles up in the arms of her husband, Austin Moon. They can both hear the sound of Cumbia playing on the Kitchen Alexa, and smell the scent of arepas and cheese and eggs.
"Good morning, pimp daddy,"
Ally whispers in his ear.
He whispers,
"It's your fault for being sexy and your skin feeling like silk all the time."
Ally giggles.
"You're sexier. Wanna spoon me? Maybe have sex?"
"No one else I'd rather spoon or have sex with than you, Ally."
The two are about to kiss when Ally hears Amberleigh, their infant daughter, stirring and fussing on the baby monitor.
"Amberleigh's up."
Ally rises from the bed and goes to the nursery to find Amberleigh sitting up in her crib and fussing, but the baby's fussing instantly subsides when she sees Ally.
"Good morning, sweetheart. Do you need something?"
Amberleigh is five months old and has Austin's blonde hair. She has chubby cheeks and hazel eyes and loves Sesame Street, Disney, and Miss Rachel videos on YouTube (A/N: Yes, I have worked as a babysitter/nanny, and some of the babies and toddlers I have watched absolutely love Miss Rachel lmao). She can sit up and hold her head up by herself now, and Ally has been taking advantage of feeding her any food she can think of feeding her.
Ally changes Amberleigh's diaper and she heads down to the breakfast nook to find Cecilia Tirado, their housekeeper, cooking breakfast. Cecilia is cooking arepas and a large smile spreads across her face.
"Hola, cómo estás, Ally?"
"Estoy muy bien, gracias. Breakfast smells amazing, Cecilia."
"Ay, it's nothing. I made arepas. They have always been my favorite, what you say in America, comfort food."
"No one makes better arepas than you, Cecilia."
Amberleigh nuzzles on Ally's shoulder and stares at the housekeeper and she whispers to the baby,
"Yes, it's your friend Cecilia. She washes your bottles, does your laundry and feeds you mashed bananas."
Cecilia gasps and says,
"Ay, gordita hermosa! With the chubby cheeks, and the little chubby legs! Amberleigh, you're perfectly gordita and we like it that way."
(A/N: Fun fact: Cecilia's character is based on my own childhood nanny/au pair. She used to call my sister and I "gorditas" when we were babies. She was the GOAT.)
Ally laughs and hands the baby to Cecilia, and the housekeeper gasps and says,
"Hola. Hola. Hola. Eres una gordita."
Austin comes striding down and tells her,
"Cecilia, everything looks delicious. Remind Ally or me to give you a tip."
The housekeeper says,
"Ay, no, Austin. That's not necessary."
Austin and Ally are rather wealthy, being the owners of a record company, and Ally is a fashion designer and model and has a large following on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. As a teenager, she posted covers of famous songs to her YouTube channel and Instagram profile, her DIY clothes and accessories, and hair and makeup tutorials. Austin, on the other hand, is a cover artist on YouTube and TikTok and sometimes record DIYs and tutorials, apart and together, but never involving the baby in the social media content.
Cecilia lives with them, as Ally was pregnant and Cecilia was dealing with culture shock, being born in Colombia, and having a difficult time finding work and an affordable place to live. They helped pay for her English classes and let her live with them and are used to the smell of arepas, and Cumbia and Vallenato playing on the Alexa every morning. Ally is going back to work in two weeks and the two have been trying to frantically find a nanny.
To an extent, Ally feels guilty about the prospect of leaving Amberleigh with a nanny. But she knows that historically, Amberleigh will still love her regardless of where she leaves her. When Amberleigh was born, Ally had baby blues and was extremely exhausted all the time.
After eating, Ally changes out of her pajamas and into a sports bra, crop tank top, and leggings, as she has a spin class to go to in an hour. She goes to fill up her water bottle and Austin comes over, holding Amberleigh on his shoulder.
"She's your mini-me,"
she whispers.
"You don't say,"
he says to her.
Austin tells her,
"Hey, Ally. Before you go, I just want to let you know, I signed us up for and I posted a nanny job for Amberleigh."
"Has anyone applied yet?"
"Someone named Melissa H. applied."
Melissa H.'s profile is a caucasian girl with blonde hair that looks like a Hannah Montana wig, a hooked nose, brown eyes, black thick-framed glasses and she has a glass of red wine in her hands.
"Great. You can call her to schedule a time when we can interview her."
"Have fun at Spin!"
During her ten minute break from Spin class, Ally sits beside her friends Carrie Lainfield and Trish De La Rosa and tells them,
"Austin and I might have finally found a nanny for the baby."
Trish says,
"Damn. It's been that hard to find a nanny?"
"Yeah. Some of them have seemed sketchy, some of them are too young, some of them have other jobs or are in college full time."
Carrie pipes in,
"It's a good idea to run a background check, Ally. Not everyone is what they seem to be. I watch Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Criminal Minds, so I know."
(A/N: In addition to being obsessed AF with Austin & Ally, I'm also super obsessed with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Organized Crime hahaha).
"Believe me, we run background checks."
Trish says,
"Carrie's right, Ally. Your nanny could be a registered sex offender, a madam, a racketeer, or any other criminal. She might even get Austin drunk or slip him a mickey and seduce him behind your back and then you could find them having coitus in your bed surrounded by empty bottles of wine and Jack Daniels."
Ally gives Trish a side-eye.
"Trish, don't you think those ideas are a little far-fetched?"
"I'm just saying, you can't be too careful."
"You're right."
A few days later, Austin and Ally are interviewing Melissa for the position as their nanny. Austin tells her,
"Melissa, your resume looks good, and you have tons of five-star reviews. Looks like you might be the one we're looking for."
Melissa tells them,
"Thank you, I try. How old is she?"
Ally says,
"Well, she's turning six months at the end of this month, and she's already in several places at once. She can be a little shy sometimes, but she opens up quickly."
Amberleigh just stares and gawks at the blonde lady, and Cecilia comes in with a plate of coffee and doughnuts and says,
"Hola, soy Cecilia. I'm the housekeeper. Help yourself to coffee or doughnuts."
Melissa says,
"Gracias, Cecilia."
Ally asks,
"You speak spanish?"
Melissa replies,
"Yes, I do. I'm half Cuban, my paternal grandmother taught me Spanish growing up, and I went to Spanish immersion schools growing up."
Austin hears Amberleigh crying from the bassinet in the corner of the den, and he picks her up, gently bouncing her, and causing her to calm down very quickly. He tells her,
"Hi, Amberleigh. This is Melissa, she is going to be your new friend."
He hands the baby to the nanny and she just looks right at the woman, grabbing at her necklace and her rings.
"Hi, Amberleigh. You're so chubby and cute."
Ally turns to her husband.
"I think we found our nanny."
Austin says to her,
"How would you like to be Amberleigh's nanny, Melissa Hernandez?"
Melissa's face lights up like a christmas tree.
"Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'll take it!"
The first chapter is down! I was hoping to have this story up by last weekend, but my old laptop bit the dust and I had to buy a new one. On the bright side, I got my first MacBook and that's pretty cool!
Anyway, if you like the story, feel free to review, favorite, and follow! Happy fourth everybody!
