Chapter 4:

Doomsday

Elsewhere at the waterpark, Flim and Flam, the two twin pale light grayish olive Unicorn stallion brothers with moderate red mane and tail with white streaks, wearing blue-striped shirts, black bowties, and sales pony hats were holding two objects in their hooves, which appeared to be reeds.

"Folks, what my brother and I are holding in our hooves are devices so powerful…," Flam, the unicorn with a red mustache and an apple cutie mark with a missing piece, said as he shows the reed.

"...It can actually pull air right out of the sky," Flim said, finishing his brother's sentence as everyone gathered around the two twin Unicorn brothers.

"Gather around everyone. Gather around," Flam said as a Giraffe, an Earth Pony, and Dragon gathered and turned their attention to the two brothers.

Flim and Flam then approached the Earth Pony as Flim said, "Pardon us. But…do you have gills, madam?".

"Nuh-Uh," The Earth Pony replied, shaking her head.

"So you can't breathe underwater, can you?" Flam asked.

"Uh-Uh," The Earth Pony replied shaking her head again.

"Well, then our assistant, Derpy here, will demonstrate," Flim said as he and Flam approached Derpy, a light sapphire bluish-gray pegasus with a pale, light grayish apple green mane and tail, and a cutie mark of a bunch of bubbles, who is wearing a scuba mask over her crossed eyes but with the reed in her nose. And she wasn't focusing on the sales pitch.

Derpy took a sniff through the reed and said, "Hey, I can smell the ocean from here,".

"No…Derpy, what are you doing? We can't sell that thing now…," Flam said as he pulled the reed from her nose.

"...Yeah, you suck air through your mouth. Crossed-Eyed Pegasi," Flim said as Flam shoved the reed stalk into Derpy's mouth and Flim used his moderate green magic aura to dunk her head into the water. It was a shame at how little they cared for the pegasus, but the Film and Flam Brothers only cared about the quick bit, and each other.

"Through its essential design and sturdy construction, Derpy here will have plenty of air…," Flam said while Flim was still holding Derpy's head underwater with his magic.

"...For eons to come," Flim finished as Derpy finally manages to pull her head out of the water and gasp for air. Twilight seeing this marches up to them.

"Of course…," Flim said as Derpy looked at them in slight anger.

"...Results may vary," Flam said, finishing his brother's sentence.

Then the two sale ponies found themselves suddenly grabbed by the back foot by a light brilliant raspberry magic aura as Flim and Flam said in unison as they're hung upside down in front of Twilight, "Hey! Whoa!".

"Flim and Flam, who told you two to scare everybody with all this "Doomsday" stuff?" Twilight asked the two, glaring at the two con ponies. Ever since they arrived in Equestria they were always causing trouble. Pulling one con after the next, to the point where you couldn't trust a word that they said.

Flam chuckled and said, "We're trying to make a living here, Twinkle,".

The two Unicorn brothers then teleported out of Twilight's grasp and teleported to their stand as a red Dragon, a black and brown Hippogriff, and a Unicorn filly turned to them.

"It's all part of my brothers' and my accurate weather forecast…," Flim said.

"...And it appears that a five-day outlook is calling for intense flooding followed by…," Flam said.

Flim and Flam then raised their hooves in the air as they said in unison, "THE END OF EQUESTRIA!".

A juvenile Giraffe, a Reindeer, and a Pegasus gasped as Flim pointed to the sun and said, "With a slight chance of patchy sunshine…,".

"...Later in the week," Flam finished. Everyone seemed worried but Twilight simply scoffed.

"Come on, everyone. Don't listen to them. The Flim and Flam Brothers will sell their own mother for a bit," Twilight said, not buying what the two Unicorns have said. They had pulled one too many cons for her to believe them.

"Are you making an offer?" Flim asked as he teleported next to her before Flam slapped him on the head. Saying something like that wasn't helping their case.

"What my brother means is…No, we would never do that," Flam said, covering for his brother, looking serious.

"But Twilight, haven't you heard? The ice and snow on those mountains are melting," Rarity mentions as she points to the mountains around them.

Twilight rolls her eyes before explaining, "You see those mountains beside me, Rarity? They're covered in ice and snow. And my books said that thousands of years ago, during Starswirls time, they were covered in ice and snow, and thousands of years from now, in the future, there will still be ice and snow," Twilight said, pointing to the mountain beside her as she then teleported a book next to her with her magic.

"Say, Twilight. Not to be interrupting your lesson about the ice and snow not melting theory. But haven't you Alicorns pretty much gone extinct?" Cheerilee, a moderate cerise Earth Pony mare with a pale, light grayish rose mane and tail with light ceriseish gray stripes, and a cutie mark of three smiling flowers asked.

"Wait, who told you about that, Cheerilee?" Twilight asked, not being sure where she is getting at. And what exactly was she saying?

"Nopony, I just observe that you are being the last of your kind," Cheerilee replied.

"Uh, you're still not making any sense of what you're saying," Twilight said, trying to change the subject.

Cheerilee looked at her for a minute and started thinking about how to put this. Then Cheerilee said, putting it in an easy and steady way for her to understand and with a challenging grin, "I guess what I'm trying to say is…When's exactly was the last time you saw another Alicorn?".

Twilight's expression lowered from that as she darted her eyes, the last time she ever saw another alicorn was when before she lost her family.

Rainbow seeing Twilight's uneasiness assured her and said, "Don't pay any attention to her, Twilight. She's just trying to get in your head,".

Twilight shook her head and stood firm, "Alicorns like me can't go extinct. We're the most powerful creatures in Equestria," Twilight declared.

"Oh, but I thought the Dinoponies were the most powerful creatures in Equestria?" a Hippogriff asked.

"They were. But the Dinoponies got a little overconfident and they made enemies too. Killed each other for food and-," Twilight replied but before she could finish…

"Hey, Look! Some Pink Earth Pony is about to jump off the Eviscerator!" a Giraffe yelled as the others looked at the top of the glacier wall. Twilight and Rainbow's eyes widened, as they got a feeling who it was.

"Oh, Rainbow Dash, please don't tell me that's not who I think it is?..." Twilight begged as she closed her eyes with an embarrassed frown…

"I'm afraid so, Twilight," Rainbow Dash said as they too also looked up at the top of the glacier.

At the top of the glacier, a small pony shape figure was seen by a waterfall.

"Okay, I'm gonna jump on the count of three!" a familiar female voice yelled.

High above them, it is revealed to be Pinkie Pie who is by the waterfall as she reluctantly nears the edge and counted, "One…Two…,".

"Pinkie, don't move a muscle. Rainbow and I are coming up!" Twilight yelled to her as The crowd began to gather as they cheered, "JUMP! JUMP! JUMP!".

"JUMP! JUMP! JUMP!" Rainbow Dash said, joining in, smiling actually wanting to see Pinkie chicken out and embarrass herself.

Twilight looked at Rainbow Dash with a glare, she would have expected Rainbow Dash to say something like when they first met, but not now, causing the Pegasi to stop and apologize, "Sorry, Twilight,".

"Come on," Twilight said, rolling her eyes as she and Rainbow Dash spread their wings and flew to the top of the glacier.

"2 and 3,1000ths, 2 and 4,1000ths…," Pinkie said, still counting as she nervously nears the edge.

"Pinkie! What are you doing? Get down from there!" Twilight shouted as she and Rainbow Dash appeared and landed below her.

"What?! No way, Twilight. I'm gonna be the first Earth Pony to jump down this Eviscerator and then you two are gonna start showing me some respect," Pinkie said with a confident smirk.

"But Pinkie, if you jump off this thing, the only respect you're gonna get is respect from the injuries and the possible chances of death too," Twilight retorted, Pinkie may be annoying but that doesn't mean Twilight wanted Pinkie to break every bone in her body.

"Pffft, come on, Twilight. Pinkie may be crazy but she's not that crazy," Rainbow Dash assured the alicorn, she was sure Pinkie was gonna realize this was a bad idea.

But it was then that Pinkie got herself ready to jump that Rainbow had second thoughts.

"But I've been wrong before," Rainbow Dash said as Twilight rushed forward.

"GERONIMO!" Pinkie yelled, jumping off the ledge.

But Twilight quickly caught her with her magic just before Pinkie got too far. Then Twilight tossed Pinkie over her as Pinkie landed behind her and accidentally grabbed her tail, causing Twilight to start sliding down as she and Pinkie started screaming.

"Hey, hey, hey! Look out!" Rainbow Dash yelled as she started flapping her wings.

But it was too late as Twilight and Pinkie Pie crashed into her and sent Rainbow Dash sliding out further into a vast ice plain and fell.

Meanwhile, Pinkie's front hoof was sticking out from underneath Twilight's stomach.

"Twilight, I can't breathe," Pinkie muffled.

"Oh, sorry, Pinkie," Twilight said, realizing that Pinkie is underneath her.

"I think I just coughed up my cupcake," Pinkie wheezed as she starts pulling herself out while Twilight starts getting up off her.

Rainbow Dash soon got up back on her feet and then heard something as she glanced down to see the ice cracking underneath her hooves.

"Huh?" Rainbow Dash said, realizing she is standing on a thin sheet of ice.

Rainbow Dash then started running as the ice started breaking apart revealing a lake of water. Rainbow Dash made a leap for it and flew, clearing away from the water. Rainbow Dash panted, shivered, and exhaled as she was clinging to Twilight's head and calmed down.

Twilight deadpanned as she looked at the trembling pegasus, "Uh, Rainbow? Can you get off my head, please?" Twilight asked as she lightly tapped Rainbow Dash with her hoof.

Rainbow snapped out of her fright and saw what she was doing, "Huh? Oh, right. Sorry, Twilight," Rainbow Dash said as she got off Twilight's head.

"You know. If I didn't know you any better, I say you were afraid of the water," Pinkie said as she started laughing as Rainbow snarled.

She then lunged and pounced on Pinkie as she pinned her on her back with her hooves on Pinkie's neck, gagging her.

"Okay, okay. Good thing I now know you better, Dashie," Pinkie wheezed, smiling nervously at the growling pegasus.

"Girls," Twilight called out as Rainbow Dash and Pinkie turned to her. There was a sense of urgency and worry in her voice.

Twilight was looking out into the distance at where the ice plain was, looking off in horror.

"The Flim and Flam brothers were right. Everything is melting," Twilight said as Rainbow Dash and Pinkie joined next to her and saw what she was staring at with their own eyes, becoming horrified as well.

The ice that drifted apart from Rainbows' running revealed the true threat. The ice floes float in the water as it is soon revealed that the ice plain wasn't hiding a lake of water, but a vast ocean worth of melted ice water as if it were to flush out all at once.

It would flood everything in Equestria for miles around.

And if the dam breaks and the water it was holding back was unleashed, then everyone in Equestria will drown.

Author's Note: So what happened in this chapter?

Well, it appears that the con sales ponies Flim and Flam have been spreading the word about an upcoming flood to everybody, which got them very worried. But Twilight, being a smart Alicorn she was, doesn't believe a word they are saying. She even assured the crowd that the ice and snow on the mountains are not melting. During her explanation on the ice and snow not melting, Cheerelee asked Twilight about her being the last Alicorn of her kind and if all Alicorns are extinct, which Twilight denies.

And to make things even crazier, Twilight and Rainbow Dash looked up to see Pinkie Pie on top of a glacier about to ride the Eviscerator, the longest and probably most dangerous waterslide in the waterpark. But luckily for Pinkie Pie, Twilight caught her right on time but unfortunately, they both ended up sliding down and bumping into Rainbow Dash, sending her into an ice plain.

When Rainbow Dash got back up, she saw that the ice plain was beginning to break apart, causing her to run as the ice breaks apart revealing water underneath the ice. That's when Twilight, Pinkie, and Rainbow Dash have came to realize that the Flim and Flam Brothers were right, everything in Equestria is melting. Which means the glacier that was acting like a dam will soon break and all of Equestria will be flooded.

Looks like the Mane 3 now have a new danger on their hooves and some fears to handle...

Twilight having a fear of being the last of her kind.

Pinkie Pie having a fear of creatures thinking she just makes everyone smile and laugh.

And Rainbow Dash having a fear of water.

But perhaps the biggest fear that the Mane 3 will have to face is the upcoming flood that will destroy their home.
