Chapter 11:

Camouflaging

Meanwhile, at the glacier wall, a large section was now gone and water pours out and over it. Three holes of the wall leaked out with water as pieces of ice fell and a large section heavily cracked.

Elsewhere, the carrot rested on the ice tower, and Scrabbit held his hands by it in a frame. Then he pulls out a long stick and licked his finger feeling the wind's direction. After a moment, Scrabbit grips the stick, inhales a deep breath, and got ready.

Then Scrabbit charges towards the edge of the ledge and placed the end of the stick at the edge, quickly climbing up the stick's other end and tipping over trying to grab the carrot. But Scrabbit missed the grab and fell into the water below screaming.

The Creatures of Equestria continued on as they traveled through a ravine. And the Flim and Flam were still trying to sell worthless items.

"Folks, escaping the flood is the perfect time to shed those unsightly pounds…," Flam said.

"...With Flim and Flam's Disaster Diet!" Flim said, finishing his brother's sentence.

The two Unicorn Brothers quickly run in front of Yona as Flim said to her, "You, young lady, look like a big, fat, hairy beast. How would you like to lose a ton or two, huh?".

"Yona think might be a perfect idea," Yona said.

"Don't listen to them, Yona. You're perfect just the way you are," Sandbar said, appearing next to her along with Ocellus, Silverstream, Gallus, and Smolder.

"Whoa-ho! We also have some cure for some of you who have blind eyesight, our young friends," Flam said as he and Flim squeezed between them and the Young 6 walked away.

Then the Flim and Flam Brothers looked behind themselves and saw Twilight, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash walking as they quickly got out of the way.

Behind the Mane 3, a female Reindeer went to some bushes and lowers down to feed. Suddenly, the bushes took off hopping as one momentarily stopped, and the other bumped into it as the first bush turned to it. They continued hopping until they near a tree and transformed, revealing themselves to be Starlight and Trixie the Changelings as they quickly transformed into squirrels and climbed up a tree.

When they got near the top, Trixie and Starlight looked around as Trixie nodded and Starlight whistles out.

The female Reindeer nears another bush by a rock and it quickly lifts up as Flash was holding it with his hoof and the other with his tail. Then Flash quickly crawls towards the tree as Twilight looks back and Flash got to the tree as he rushed over to hide behind it, even though he could still be seen.

Twilight groaned and said, "Oh, at this pace we'll never make it to the boat on time. Flash! It's okay, you and your sisters can lose the camouflage. You're safe,".

"Okay. Safe? What does she know? Starlight and Trixie, scope it out," Flash said, holding his hoof out.

"Starlight, whatcha got?" Trixie asked.

"Perimeter appears to be all clear, Trixie," Starlight replied.

"Roger that. One-niner over," Trixie said.

"Roger, over, victor…Ouch!" Starlight said as Trixie whacked her with a branch and glared at her as Trixie laughed.

The two transformed Changelings then started fighting until Flash's voice was heard, "Girls,".

"All clear, Flash!" Trixie said while Starlight was holding onto her ears.

Flash got up and heads off as Trixie and Starlight rushed down the tree, messing around, and transformed back to their original appearances as Trixie caught Starlight's tail causing her to hit the ground. But then Starlight saw the shadow of a bird of prey as a screech was heard.

"Eagle!" Starlight yelled, jumping to her hooves.

Flash looked back and gasped.

The Eagle soars high in the sky above as Trixie and Starlight started rushing around, panicking until they transformed into small stones and dropped to the ground. A thud was heard as the two transformed Changelings were bounced off the ground and came back down. It appears that Flash was also on the ground, crouching down, pretending to be a rock.

"Flash, what are you doing?" Twilight asked, raising a brow.

"Camouflaging," Flash answered, keeping his voice down.

"Hey, Twilight, why don't you do that?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"Because Pinkie Pie…I'm An Alicorn!" Twilight said angrily with her horn charging. It was a tense moment.

"But you would do it for a treat, right?" Pinkie asked as Twilight narrows her eyes. Pinkie thought it might seem like a fun thing to do.

"Is he gone?" Flash asked, peeking his eye from his forelegs.

The Eagle begins to fly off and Twilight said dryly, "You're all safe. Get up,".

"Whew, oh man. If you and your friends weren't here, Twilight. That Eagle would've swooped down and snatched us up for dinner. That's how our cousin went," Flash said as he gets up from the ground and walks off.

Pinkie whistled while making a cuckoo gesture with her hoof. Twilight turned to her as Pinkie Pie waved nervously at her.

Shortly later, Twilight was walking with Flash.

"Boy, I really feel for you, Twilight. Really, I do. I just can't even imagine what it would be like to be the last one of your species," Flash said as they walked together.

"But Flash, I'm not the last Alicorn," Twilight stated.

"Aaaawwww, you're a brave mare with a brave soul, Twilight. That's right just don't give up hope," Flash said, patting Twilight on her shoulder and continued walking. Twilight blushed from both the contact and being called brave.

But she shook her head and sighed, "Flash,". Flash stopped and looked back at her.

"Look at your hoofprints. They're the same size and shape as mine," Twilight said, looking at the hoofprints Flash left and placing her front hoof in one of them.

"But if they're the same. How do I know they're not too big to be yours, Twilight?" Flash asked with a raised brow. Twilight rolled her eyes and looked to the ground.

"Oh, well then. Look at our shadows. They're the same body shape," Twilight said as she shows Flash their shadows. She was trying to get him to see the truth about himself.

"Wait a minute, you're right, Twilight. They are the same! You must be part Changeling too!" Flash exclaimed as he playfully punched Twilight's shoulder and walked off as Twilight just gawked in shock.

"Welcome to the family, Sister-In-Law," Trixie said as she and Starlight hoof-bumped each other and followed behind Flash.

Twilight's eye twitched, realizing that this was going to be harder than she thought as her hopeful expression dropped and groaned. Flash definitely hasn't got the point. He's an Alicorn and not a Changeling!

What was it gonna have to take to get it through his thick skull?

Author's Note: It would have appeared that the glacier has also been melting at night, but the good news is that there's plenty of time before the flood is unleashed.

Scrabbit was still trying to get his carrot from the ice tower but he failed...

Back with the Mane 3, they have managed to catch up with the others as they continued on their journey to reach the boat in time. But with Flash and his sisters hiding from the unknown dangers, including camouflaging from a passing Eagle, they're losing some time and pace to get to the boat.

And to make things slower, Twilight has tried to convince Flash that he's an Alicorn like her and not a Changeling, including showing him the hoofprints and their shadows. Unfortunately, Flash just thought Twilight is part Changeling and walked off with his Changeling sisters behind him.

Even though it was an unsuccessful attempt, Twilight is determined to prove Flash that he's an Alicorn and not a Changeling.
