Chapter 16:

Ultimate Sacrifice

Twilight and Flash were still walking through the forests until Flash spoke, he still had many questions, "Hey, Twilight. Do we Alicorns do special tricks like rollover or do we just throw our magic around and spread our wings out?".

When Flash spreads his wings, he accidentally tipped over and almost knocked Twilight aside, but he quickly caught her and helped her up.

"Oops, sorry Twilight. Guess I don't know my own strength sometimes," Flash apologized.

"It's fine," Twilight assured as Flash then got an idea, but probably a bad one. Something that shouldn't have been brought up so soon.

"Hey, Twi, do you realize that now we might have the chance to save our species?" He asked nervously.

"Oh, really? How are we gonna do that, Mr. Sentry?" Twilight asked with a grin.

Flash fiddled with his wings, "Oh, well…you know, we could, um," He said uneasily as Twilight caught what he was saying.

"Whoa, hold on, are you…," Twilight said, realizing what he's talking about. Was he seriously thinking about having a foal with her, NOW?!

"No, wait, I, I didn't mean…," Flash tried to explain, but upon never having a conversation like this, he was at a complete loss.

"Flash, you just realized you're an Alicorn 5 minutes ago, you and I have only known each other for less than TWO days and now you're thinking of us having a family already?!" Twilight exclaimed as she walked ahead of him feeling very disgusted. He was taking things waaay too fast.

"Twilight, No I wasn't saying...Not right now. Maybe In time, I am just saying that it's our duty," Flash tried to explain, only to use the wrong words.

"Wait, WHAT?!" Twilight exclaimed as she stopped and angrily looked back at him. She could not believe what he just said.

"Uh, WAIT WAIT WAIT! That came out wrong!" Flash backtracked as he gave a sheepish smile, "What I meant to say was…that you're very pretty but I feel like since we just met and, uh…," He kept tripping over his own words as Twilight marched up to him.

"Hold on, DUTY?! Really Flash?!" Twilight inclined the stallion as she got up close and personal with him, "It's our destiny, huh, is that it? Ready to make an ultimate sacrifice to save MY species," She guessed hotly as her horn sparked.

"Uh…," Flash tried to say.

"Well, I got some news for you, Mr. Sentry! You're not saving the Alicorn species tonight or any other night!" Twilight exclaimed as she humphed, turned away from him, and walked off with her head up.

Flash sighed, before banging his head into a tree, knowing he just seriously blew it. In retrospect, he'd might have thought the ones who knew they were an Alicorn from the beginning would have been the ones to say those things, but it was worse that he put so much pressure after just finding out who he was.

Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash were sitting by a fire that Pinkie Pie has set up until Twilight appeared and they turned to her.

"Hey, there she is," Pinkie said, turning to Twilight with a smile on her face. But quickly frowned when they saw the disgusted look on her face.

"So, Twilight, how did it go with Flash?" Rainbow Dash asked hesitantly, sensing a lot of anger coming from her.

"Oh, Just, great," Twilight grumbled, trying to hide the truth.

Suddenly Flash walked by a little heartbroken with Trixie and Starlight riding on his back with frustrated looks on their faces, with Starlight frowning and massaging her temple and Trixie with her face buried in her hooves. Clearly Flash told them what happened and they were very disappointed with him, Twilight just turned away from him.

"Really great," Twilight groaned as she looked away with an angry look. Rainbow and Pinkie looked at each other, it was clear someone said the wrong thing to someone else.

Flash's hoof lands in a puddle putting out the fire.

"Oh, come on. I just made that!" Pinkie Pie complained.

"Okay, let's go, girls! My sisters and I got through a whole day thanks to you, now you're gonna need our help to get through the night," Flash insisted.

"But Flash we can't see at night," Twilight reminded him.

"It's either that or swimming in the flood, Twilight," Flash recalled as he walked off.

"I can't believe you would even think about that part, before the first date," Starlight said, not looking at Twilight.

"Heartbreaker!" Trixie said as she turned to Twilight.

Twilight's eyes widened from that comment as Trixie made a gesture of keeping a watchful eye on her. Twilight just snorted and followed behind them.

"Well, at least we're still making friends. Everywhere you go just making friends," Pinkie said as she, Twilight, and Rainbow Dash followed after them.

Author's Note: Looks like things have taken a bump in the road for our heroes...

Flash and Twilight were still walking through the forest together, things were going well. That is until Flash asked Twilight about saving their species, which got Twilight a little shock and disgusted. But what made Twilight really disgusted was that Flash told her that it was their duty and that not only got Twilight disgusted but also very mad at him too.

And to make things worst, Flash has told his sisters what happened and they weren't happy either. Afterward, Flash insisted that the Mane 3 should come with them at night, which the Mane 3 have accepted but Twilight was still upset with Flash as they moved on.

Will Twilight forgive Flash for his fumble?
