Hello everyone. How are you doing? Once again, it's been a long time since I published. I'm just so busy. Anyway, to get me back into writing, I decided to do a one-shot about Spider-Verse trilogy. I saw the movie Across the Spider-Verse just when it came out and it is amazing (not perfect, but still amazing). There is also a very small one-shot I wanted to do about The Legend of Korra that should come out very soon. For those reading my Bad Guys fanfic Back to the den, I continued to work on it a bit, don't worry. And I haven't forgotten my Paw Patrol stories. They are all still in progress.

Enough talking, let's read.

Miles groaned in pain as he tried to stand up, only to fall back on the ground. As he tried to control his breathing, he looked up to see the HQ of the Spider Society destroyed. There were holes in the walls and most columns had fallen. Occasionally, a spark of electricity would come out randomly from the broken equipment and exposed cables. Despite his personal griefs with the organisation, Miles couldn't help but feel bad for all the Spider-Man, and Spider-Woman, and Spider-…something, who worked here. Most had been trapped in pocket dimensions by Spot during the previous battle. For those who had managed to avoid it, things didn't go any better. All around, Miles could see Spiders-Heroes, including some of his teammates from the Spider-Gang, unconscious among the rubbles.

How did it come to this? Miles knew the answer but still had a hard time believing it and, as much as he hated it, couldn't deny it was partially his fault. However, it didn't change the fact that Spot had to be stopped. Whatever the situation, Spider-Man always get back up. With that thought in mind, Miles finally managed to stand on his knees.

"Look at that, if this isn't inspiring," the mentioned villain mocked as he floated in the air toward Miles, small eruptions of dark matter constantly coming out of his glitching body. "What? No small jokes or witty remarks this time? Guess I finally earned your respect."

"Respect? Sorry, I don't think I have any left in my pockets," Miles retorted sarcastically.

He was trying to buy some time. As hopeless as things seemed, Spot couldn't be invincible. He just had to find his weakness. In his current state, the guy had become incredibly powerful and invulnerable to most attacks, but not all. Mile also needed to catch his breath. To say the last few days had been erratic would be an understatement between his conflict with Gwen and Peter B., the fight against Miguel O'Hara and the Spider Society, his encounter with Earth 42 Miles Morales and Uncle Aaron and the race to prevent his father's death. Yet, despite everything, he had done it. With the help of his teammates, Miles had saved his father, thus breaking a canon event, without destroying his universe. Sadly, just after, Spot had found and attacked the Spider Society. So, after Miles and Miguel had made a truce, everyone had followed them back to Earth-928 to stop the villain once and for all. When they had arrived, most Spider-Heroes, taken by surprise, had already been trapped or defeated. Those remaining weren't enough to overwhelm Spot.

"Ugh, should have seen that one coming," Spot complained. "You know, I haven't forgotten the promise I made to you and since you saved your father, I need to make things even."

Miles was at first confused, unsure about what Spot was planning. The ex-scientist opened a portal just above him from which someone fell and he grabbed the person by the neck, holding her a arm length. Even without the black and white suit, Miles would have immediately recognised who it was.

"Gwen!"

She was still unconscious. Ignoring the pain in his body, Miles shot a web toward her to pull her away from Spot, but his injuries made his movement slower than usual, allowing the villain to grab the web and pull Miles instead before kicking him hard in the stomach, sending him back on the ground.

"So, I was right," Spot said obviously satisfied. "Oh, this is perfect."

Miles chastised himself for falling right into the trap like that. Spot began to tighten his grip on Gwen's neck to the point she could barely breathe which had the effect to awaken her. Realizing what was happening, she immediately tried to free herself, but Spot's grip on her neck was too strong.

"Let her go" Miles yelled unable to hide the panic in his voice. "I'm the one you wanted."

Gwen tried to talk, but her words came out muffled. She hit Spot in the face several time, but he simply ignored her, like he didn't even feel her punches.

"Precisely," Spot answered before he punched Miles through another portal. "I told you I would take away everything you loved."

A shiver of horror runs through Miles's body when he heard those words. His eyes met Gwen's. During one second, a myriad of emotions was exchanged between them through this simple contact. Fear, sadness, regret, understanding, friendship…love. In a way that words would never be able to carry. It was at this moment Spot broke her neck.

Crack

Miles saw Gwen's eyes briefly widen, a small gasp escaping her lips, before her body went limb. He wanted to scream, to launch himself at Spot and tear him apart, to hit the ground so hard it would break. Yet, he stood here, frozen, his mind still trying to process what just happened.

"Oops," Spot simply said before throwing Gwen's body like a bag of garbage in front of Miles who immediately rushed to her side.

"No, no no no no no no. No!"

He took her face in his hand, her eyes were still opened but now lifeless. His fingers moved to her neck in search of a pulse, but it was already too late. Tears rolled down his cheeks as he began to sob, his heart slowly breaking into a million pieces. Spot was delighted to see this, the pain and desperation on Miles's face were the same ones he had felt when he had lost everything after his transformation. Something he blamed Miles for.

"We're even for now. Until next time, Spider-Man," Spot said before disappearing into another one of his portals.

Miles didn't even hear him, he didn't think going after him or to yell a promise of revenge. All he could focus on was Gwen. He held her in his arms, sobbing uncontrollably, her head pressed against his chest, as if this gesture could magically bring her back. Despite the rift that had appeared between them recently, his feelings for her never once changed. Not even when he had felt hurt by her betrayal on Earth-928, not even when had been mad at her afterwards. When she had apologized for her mistakes and swore she wanted to help him, his heart had urged him to accept her extended hand. He had, but only halfway, unable to forgive her just yet. Now, she was gone, forever.

"I forgive you, Gwen" he said between two sobs. "I promise I forgive you. Please, don't leave me. I…I love you…"

But those words couldn't reach her anymore. Miles continued to cry every tear of his body. Some Spider-Heroes began to wake up, but he paid them no attention. He couldn't care less right now.

In every other universe, Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-Man…

Miles refused to believe in destiny or faith. He believed that he, and anyone, could trace his own way. That everything was possible. He had just wanted to protect the people he cared about. To be with those he loved the most. To be with her.

And in every other universe, it doesn't end well.

It didn't have to end like that. It didn't. But it did.

Miles blinked as his eyes adjusted themselves to his new environment. He could feel the ground shook under him, like an earthquake was occurring. It didn't last long however. Miles then noticed where he was. On a giant web, one that wasn't sticky at all and seemed woven into somekind of dark void. The only light present was coming from the web itself. It felt so unreal, so weird. It then clicked inside his mind. He had already seen this once, a year and a half ago, when he had destroyed Kingpin's collider back in his dimension, just before it exploded.

"Wait. Am I…Is this…"

"The Web of Life and Destiny? Yes, it is, though it has many names. I personally call it the Spider-Verse."

Miles jumped and turned around to come face to face with a Spider-Man. The guy wore a full black costume with red stripes going from his mask to his waist and a red spider on his chest. He also wore a strange glove with the same colors. Judging from his size and voice, it was most certainly an adult. Both Spider-Men's spider sense went off, telling them they were truly in front of another Spider-Person which wasn't anything new at this point. The Web began to shake once again, more violently this time.

"We don't have much time, follow me," the unknown Spider-Man said.

"Wait," Miles said stopping the guy in his track. "What is happening here? Where did you come from? I don't remember seeing you at the Spider Society."

The Spider-Man looked back at Miles and he removed his mask, revealing his face. Miles gasped, shocked, to see himself. Only older.

"My name is Miles Morales. I come from another dimension, as you can guess, and you're right, I'm not with the Spider Society. Never was. Look, time is running out, so if you want to talk, do it while moving."

Adult-Miles plunged inside the web and let it take him away, like a fish following the current inside a river. Miles immediately plunged after him. Why, he wasn't sure. He had so much thoughts coursing through his mind right now that he didn't know what to think anymore. The fact they had been standing on the Spider-Verse a minute ago already defied all laws of physic he knew. Despite the tremors, he quickly caught up to his alter ego. In truth, it wasn't much different then when he used a dimensional watch to jump between two universes.

"You're…You're a Spider-Man? I thought I was the only one since I'm an anomaly," Miles said.

In retrospect, the older Miles's costume, so similar to his own, was a big clue to the guy's identity. Miles told himself he should have noticed that sooner.

"I don't know anything about you being an anomaly, but you are not the only Miles Morales to be Spider-Man. Besides us, I know off at least two others. Turn left."

They arrived at a crossroads where Adult-Miles turned left to enter a new thread and Miles followed him. He noticed the older Spider-Man was using a map appearing on the screen of his glove to guide them. He was still bewildered that other versions of himself were Spider-Man. Miguel's words and meeting himself as the Prowler on Earth-42 had taken a toll on his confidence as a Spider-Man. It had made him doubt this part of his identity, but hearing this, it made him feel better. He had so much more questions he wanted to ask as they kept navigating among the Spider-Verse. However, a new tremor, even stronger this time, hit again and almost threw the two Spider-Men off course. Looking outside, Miles could see threads of the web disintegrate, leaving the universes they connected through canon events disconnected and isolated. The light that shined from them disappearing. Miles didn't know the consequences this had inside the universes, but it probably wasn't good.

"Hey Me, the Spider-Verse, it's collapsing," he said as he continued to follow his older self.

"I know, that's why we're here."

"And where are we going exactly," Miles asked as he looked at his alter-ego glove. "And how to you know where to go?"

"It would be too long to explain. It's not so much where than when and it's right there."

They jumped out of the thread they were currently inside and, in typical Spider-Man fashion, landed in a crouching position just in front of a crossroad between six threads. A universe. Miles used the dimensional watch Hobie had given him to pinpoint his location. It was his universe. Earth-1610. What his alternate self said began to make more sense to him.

"When? You're talking about time travel? For real?"

"Yes," Adult-Miles answered. "Normally, it is forbidden to use the web for this because it could damage it permanently but…"

"But it's already damaged. Condemned even."

Adult-Miles smiled. "You understand quickly. Listen carefully, the Spider-Verse doesn't link universes harboring a Spider-Man, or Spider-Thing, only through space, but time as well. Because of that, it can be used to travel through time the same way we travel through space."

Miles nodded. He remembered when Kingpin's collider had brought the original Spider-Gang to his dimension, unlike the others Gwen had landed one week in the past even though they all had been sucked in at the same time. So it was possible. Thinking about her brought back the emotions Miles felt when she died, emotions he had no control over. He could still feel her limb body in his arms, the lifeless eyes...Thankfully, Adult-Miles brought immediately him back to reality.

"Hey, focus man. You know the cause of the Spider-Verse collapse better than I do. If you go back in time and stop whatever Spot did before he does it, you can stop this. Afterwards, the web will repair itself. It will be like nothing ever happened."

Miles wasn't convinced by this plan. "Are you sure? It seems a bit far stretched."

"I am. Don't ask me to explain it, I'm not a specialist, but I've seen this before. Here." Adult-Miles put on of his gloved finger on Miles's watch and began to transfer a program inside it. "I knew keeping these data was necessary. This should allow you to find the correct time coordinates and reach them, but you must promise me to destroy the watch with all these data once the mission is over. Nothing must remain. Promise me Miles."

Adult-Miles's eyes showed how dead serious he was about that. Miles could only guess why he was asking him that, but he promised anyway. Trusting himself.

"I promise. On my life."

Adult-Miles nodded, satisfied. Suddenly, the thread began shake so violently that they had to use their powers to stick to it. Looking behind them, they saw the tread they were on begin to disintegrate. It was coming right toward them and Miles's universe. Adult-Miles immediately sprung into action and, after pressing a series of buttons on his glove's screen, he generated a beam that stroke the thread right where it was disintegrating, seemingly stopping the process. It was amazing to see.

"I can't hold it for long," he told Miles. "Hurry and don't forget. You only got one chance. Make it count."

"I will. Thanks."

Miles already had an idea of when he had to go back to fix everything, if this plan could really work. Using the new program, he located the time coordinates. He was about to press the button when a realization stroke him. If he did this, then it was highly possible he wouldn't be able to save his father. He wouldn't be there in time to save him if he went after Spot. He had to make a choice and fast. The same one he had originally refused to do which ultimately led him to this very moment. What a sick joke. The thread began to shake again. Miles remembered he didn't have one second to lose. He closed his eyes, pressed the button and jumped into his universe. The dimensional watch began to glow and time around him seemed to rewind as he traveled through space toward his destination.

Gwen was sitting on an old chair, waiting. The Spider-Gang was currently hiding inside an abandoned floor at the top of a skyscraper on Earth-1610 after having escaped from Earth-42 with Miles. That had been one heck of an adventure from which Miles hadn't come out unscathed. Thankfully, he had allowed Margo to threat his injuries, the girl being the only one among them to have real medical knowledge.

Gwen felt a strike of jealousy hit her as she remembered that moment, how close Margo had stood to Miles and the way they had talked while she was healing him. She quickly suppressed it. Now wasn't the time for that. Besides, it's not like she had the right to be jealous anyway, after what she had done. Going to see Miles even though she knew why she shouldn't, lying to him several times and not helping him when Miguel had violently chased him. She had let her own problems, her fears, be more important and acted selfishly. She basically betrayed him. Her closest friend, the guy she loved. It took her time to accept her feelings, but she couldn't deny them any longer. A sigh escaped her lips as she ran her hands across her face. At least she wasn't the only one to have screwed up. Her and Peter B. had tried to apologise to him back on Earth-42, to explain why they did what they did, but he had refused to forgive them and they couldn't blame him. Her heart sank as she remembered the way he had looked at her back on Earth-42 and on the train on Earth-928, anger and hurt written all over his eyes. The only reason he had accepted their help was because he needed it badly. The fact most of the team she had assembled to find him hadn't been involved in the conflict probably also helped. Heck, Margo and Hobie were even the only ones who had helped him escape the Spider Society. Despite everything, she had promised him she was going to help him save his father and stop Spot. If afterward he didn't want to see her again, she will respect his wishes (despite how much it hurt her). It was the right thing to do, after all. She was done hiding, done running away.

During this time, Margo and Peni were studying all the data they had about canon events (which the former had copied before joining them), trying to find a loophole. They knew it was possible ever since Gwen told them how her father had quit being a police captain thus wasn't going to die in the line of duty like the canon said. Not far, Peter B. was showing Noir and Ham pictures of Mayday while the baby was climbing all around Noir, having her own little fun. Why did he brought his daughter, Gwen couldn't understand. On the other side, Patvir was laying on the ground and Hobie was sitting against the wall, both sleeping like everything was fine. In a way, Gwen envied them. The only one missing was Miles since he had isolated himself from the group. He needed some space he had said.

Suddenly, Margo and Penni jumped in joy, startling everyone. They claimed to have found a solid clue about canon events. Everyone gathered around to see what it was. Not everyone understood everything, since they were dealing with very high-level quantum physique, but their theory could be resume like this. It's not the canon event itself that is important but the consequence it has on the Spider-Man linked to it, a consequence that will influence this Spider-Man actions and choices in the future. In other words, it didn't matter what happen as long as the impact on Spider-Man is the same.

"We're still not sure if we are right, but I doubt we'll find a better lead than that," Penni confessed. "Especially on such short notice."

"It's worth a shot. Good job," Gwen told them.

The rest of the gang agreed.

Margo shook her head. "To think Miguel had all the data and technology but gave up his research on canon events. He probably could have found this if he had continued instead of repeating every day the same depressing thing."

"The man probably is too stuck in his own grief and pain to see anything else," Peter said. "Being Spider-Man is a difficult job, sometimes ungrateful, but it doesn't have to be a sacrifice." He looked down at his daughter in her baby carrier who was watching everyone with a happy smile. "I should have seen it, especially when it's been right under my nose for months now."

Gwen could see Miles's rejection was affecting him too and she probably wasn't the only one. Everyone knew what had happened on Earth-928, they had told them, but out of respect, no one pressed the matter further. Now that they had a lead, they just needed to get Miles before they could move forward. Strangely, everyone expected Gwen to go tell him the good news. Pavitr even made a comment about some romantic tension between her and Miles. She quickly shut him up with a web on the mouth before he could finish which earned some snickers from the group. Despite her reservations, she ended up doing it anyway. Nervousness rose inside her as she walked toward where Miles had gone, unsure how the interaction would go. Not great if their last one was any indicator.

She found him on the roof, standing near the edge of the building. Probably for the fresh air and the view. His attitude was strange, however. He was looking around, like he was lost.

"Miles," Gwen called him, confused.

When he heard her voice, he jumped around and his eyes widened like he had just seen a ghost.

"Everything's alright," she asked as she walked closer, a bit worried.

Instead of answering, Miles ran toward her, grabbed her face and kissed her on the lips. HE WAS KISSING HER. The action completely took her by surprise, so much that she froze, stiff as a tree. She had no idea what was happening and how to react. Her brain seemed to have shut down, she could almost imagine the message has stopped working. She even forgot why she had come here in the first place. Her heart began to beat so fast, she felt like it was going to jump out of her ribcage. The kiss didn't last more than a few seconds, though in Gwen's mind it felt like an eternity, and Miles immediately hugged her afterward. Gwen blinked as she tried to understand what the heck was going on.

"You're alive," Miles whispered so low she barely heard it.

Was he talking to her or himself?

"Yeah. Since my birth," Gwen answered slowly. "I…You…I mean…What…"

Miles suddenly pulled away, as if he just realized what he had done. He nervously scratched his neck and avoided her gaze, shifting uncomfortably on his feet. Gwen also looked away, her cheeks probably redder than she would like to admit, her heart still beathing fast. She was still under the shock. Wasn't Miles supposed to be mad at her? Did he really steal her first kiss just like that? Why? Was it normal for his lips to feel so good against hers? She shook her head to regain some sort of control over her thoughts.

"Of course. I'm sorry," Miles said stuttering. "You…I…I mean…What…"

Looking at him, she saw he was just as shocked as her by what he just did. If they stayed like that, things would probably just get more awkward, maybe even tense, between them, so she firmly grabbed Miles's shoulders to get his attention. Suppressing the desire to ask him if he could hug her again.

"Miles, it's…okay," she told him not knowing what else to say. She had never been good with feelings and stuff like that. "I'm just…I don't understand. You said you couldn't forgive me yet."

Saying those words brought back the guilt and pain, it could be seen on her face.

"I know," Miles answered, "but it was before…"

Miles didn't finish his sentence.

"Before what?"

Miles turned around to look at the city, or rather at a specific spot. Following his gaze, Gwen realized he was looking in the direction of his house. Miles then looked at his dimensional watch, deep in thoughts, then back at her and sighed.

"If I told you something that's hard to believe, something really crazy, with no proof to back it up, would you believe me?"

Gwen looked deep into his eyes and saw nothing but relief, worry and tiredness. And perhaps a bit of fear. He wasn't like that when she saw him an hour ago. Sure, what he went through during the last two days had taken a toll on him, but not like that. Something had definitely happened. But what?

"Well, it's not like we're literally teenage super-heroes with spider-like powers who fight villains and travel through all kind of dimensions. Right?"

Miles chuckled. "Right. It's just so…so…"

Despite her sarcasm, he still had a somber expression on his face as he searched the right words. Gently, she took his face in her hands.

"I told you I was here to help. Whatever is troubling you I'll listen if you're willing to trust me again."

Miles put his hand on hers and smiled, relieved. Gwen smiled back. It crazy how much can an honest smile means when it comes from someone you care about.

"Thank you," he said.

He took her wrist in his hand and began to run toward the stairs that led to the top floor where the rest of the group was. "I'll tell everything to everyone at the same time. Come on, we don't have one second to lose."

Gwen nodded as she followed him, a smile on her face.

Miles knelt at the edge of the roof of a building, his mask off. From there, he had a perfect view on the younger version of himself who was on the roof of his building apartment, talking with a younger version of Gwen who had come to visit him. Rio, the boy's mother, joined them.

After their encounter on the Spider-Verse, Miles had come back to see what had become of his alternate self and if Young-Miles had destroyed the data he had given him like he had promised. Miles was very happy to see it was the case. The Spot had also been defeated and the Spider-Verse was now safe and stabilised. Sadly, this victory had came at a cost. The life of Young-Miles's father. The boy was still grieving, but at least he wasn't alone. He still had his mother and he had Young-Gwen with him, so Miles was confident his alter-ego would be okay.

"You did a good job out here kiddo, I'm sorry for your loss."

"Still talking to yourself? Maybe I should call a doctor," a voice then said from behind him.

Miles smirked. He didn't even have to look to know who it was.

"Only if you see one first."

He heard his wife laugh as she knelt next to him and put her arm around his shoulders. Like him, she was wearing her Spider suit which looked similar to the one Young-Gwen wore. She also had her mask off her wore the same kind of glove he had except with her colors.

"So, this is them," Gwen asked as she examined the younger versions of herself and her husband.

Miles nodded. They saw Rio hugs Young-Gwen as she spoke to her while Young-Miles looked at them, smiling. They couldn't hear the words from where they were and maybe it was for the best, they were prying on their privacy enough as it is.

"You know, I never was the romantic type," Gwen said, "but it's kind of nice to see other versions of ourselves ending together."

"Yeah. I hope they will be alright. If their story is anything like ours, their lives are far from being free of hardships."

"And if they are anything like us, they will get through them. Together."

The couple looked at each other and Miles knew she was right. They both were holder than their alternate selves when they first met. It happened during the War for the Web of Life and Destiny which was a very dark moment for everyone involved. He honestly didn't know how he would have gotten through that hell if she hadn't been here and vice-versa. They made a lot of sacrifices in their life for the greater good, but in the end, they could always rely on each other. In a way, it saved them.

"So, I was right," a new voice said. Miles and Gwen looked behind them to see Miguel O'Hara walk toward them. His expression as severe as usual. "When Lyla told me she detected a spatial-temporal anomaly on Earth-1610, I had a feeling you two were involved."

"Miguel," Gwen said as she and Miles stood up to face him.

Miguel didn't say anything else. Instead, he walked next to them and looked at the same persons they had been looking at. He was silent at first, he looked tired.

"What you did was extremely risky, but I guess I can't deny it worked," he said surprising them.

Miles shrugged. "Desperate times, desperate measures. I did what was necessary to save the Spider-Verse. I was lucky to saw what was happening in time. The multiverse is basically infinite, no one can reach all its universes and know all its secrets."

Miguel and Gwen nodded, knowing how true that was. Whatever it was the Spider Society, the Amazing Eight (which Miles and Gwen were a part of), the Council of Gwens or any other trans dimensional organisation/group they didn't even know of.

"Look," Miles continued, "I know we don't have the same way of seeing and doing things, we fought several times because of that, but in the end, our goals are the same. It would be easier to accomplish them if we didn't stand in each other way. Maybe we could come to an agreement."

"I don't know, you'll have to see with Jess. I no longer lead the Spider Society."

"You mean you stepped down," Gwen asked, a bit sceptic.

"I did. I thought I had it all figured out, that I had found the solution to maintain the stability of the multiverse, but I was wrong. I still don't like you or agree with your methods."

"This still isn't a reason for treating them like you did," Gwen said speaking about her and Miles' alter-ego.

Miguel wondered how they knew about that.

"My behavior was wrong, I admit it."

To say Miles and Gwen were even more surprised to hear that would be an understatement. Miguel seemed genuinely remorseful, something they had never seen before.

"With Jess in charge, things will be different in the Spider Society," he continued.

"That's probably for the best if you ask us," Miles said. He then added with a more friendly tone. "What are you going to do now exactly?"

"I'll still be around to monitor the dimensions I mapped. As for the rest, I don't know yet." Miguel pressed several buttons on his dimensional watch and a portal opened next to him. He walked toward it, then stopped and turned around to face Miles and Gwen. "We may have never been on good terms, but I still ask you to be careful. The multiverse is not to be played with."

"We know," Miles answered. "And I think they do too now," he added pointing to the other roof with his head.

"I hope so."

With those words, Miguel walked into the portal before it closed. Gwen then received a notification on her glove.

"Well, that was a weird interaction," Miles told her.

"That's for sure,", she answered while reading the message she just received. "We better get back home too. Ham just sent me a message. Apparently, the kids webbed him to the ceiling. Again."

"What? You've got to be kidding me," Mile said exasperated.

"Sadly no," Gwen said as she entered the coordinate of Earth-8 on her glove. She then fired a bean that opened a portal in front of them. It was very different from the ones the Spider Society used, normal since they didn't necessarily have the same technology. "I think we may have to find a new punishment for them."

Miles chuckled, having already one or two ideas he wanted to try. He then put his hand on his wife waist and pulled her against him before giving her a soft and long kiss on the lips. One that she happily returned as she put her arms behind his head.

"Sweet. To what do I own the pleasure of that," she asked him once their lips parted.

"Nothing. I'm just so happy to have you, Charlotte and Max in my life. You three means the worlds to me."

"Careful Morales," Gwen said as she ran her hands on his chest with a smirk on her face," or you might end up with a third child on your hands."

"Threat received," he joked holding his hands up in the air.

Gwen playfully stuck out her tongue. She put back on her mask and jumped into the portal. Miles looked down one last time at their alternate selves. Young-Miles and Young-Gwen were following Rio back inside the building, both holding hands. Smiling, Miles put back his mask on and jumped into the portal before it closed.

So, what did you think? I know some bits are a bit far stretched, but I hope it still good. There is so much I want to say about Across the Spider-Verse and this fanfic, but I'll make it quick.

The main thing for me was to express my opinion on who is right between Miguel and Miles. I believe it's Miguel. As cruel and hard as it may seems, you can't put a universe (trillions of people) in danger to save one person. This is even more true when you're a hero on whose shoulders lay the responsibility of these people lives, like it's the case for Spider-Man. We can understand why Miles, driven by his emotions, want to save his father, but I hope that in the next movie they won't make him be right just because he's the main protagonist. It is true that in life, we can't have it all, we can't always succeed. I believe this is a way better lesson to learn than do what you think is right without listening to anyone even if it might hurt people. I don't necessarily want to see Miles's dad die, but I kind of want him to learn that lesson. Like Peter B. said: in life, bad things happen, it's inevitable, it makes us who we are, but good things happen too and it's on them that we need to focus.

I also wanted to show Miles and Gwen from Earth-8 because damn I want us to see them in Beyond the Spider-Verse so badly. I can easily see Miguel already knowing and being at odds with them, explaining why he didn't want Gwen to join the Spider Society at first and why he was so hard on her and Miles.

Also, I didn't go much into the details about the reconciliation between Miles and Gwen, but I like the way it came out in this story.

Wow, never wrote that much in a end not. Anyway, that's it for today. Take care and until next time.
