Chapter 24:

Defeat Of The Flood

On the rock ledge, Pinkie, Rainbow Dash, Trixie, and Starlight were watching the water trying to find Twilight and Flash as they shuddered and hoped and prayed they were okay. But there was no sign of them until suddenly, as they looked around, Twilight and Flash rose out of the water gasping for air. Twilight has freed Flash just in time and Flash saved Twilight just before she became close to drowning.

Seeing them caused a massive relief to their friends and family.

"There they are!" Trixie cheered, seeing them.

"Yeah!" Pinkie cheered as Starlight high-hoofed her.

"He got her! They made it!" Starlight cheered as they hurried over to the edge.

Flash swam over to them while holding onto Twilight. Pinkie, Rainbow, Trixie, and Starlight got to the edge as they arrived and Pinkie, Trixie, and Starlight helped pulled Twilight onto the ledge. Starlight and Trixie went up to Flash and hugged him.

"We thought we would never see you again, don't ever scare us like that again," Starlight said in relief.

Flash then turns to Twilight as she soon got up and smiled at him as Flash smiled at her as well.

"We're gonna live!" Pinkie cheered as she looked down and saw the water rising near her hooves.

Everyone soon saw it as well.

"We're gonna die!" Pinkie cried.

The water continues rising as Pinkie climbed onto Twilight's back and Starlight and Trixie transformed into squirrels and climbed onto Flash's back too. Then yelling was heard as they saw the nearby rock tower holding the boat with the other Equestrian Creatures and the rocks holding it came loose. The boat soon hits the water as the Equestrian Creatures held on. The boat is still afloat and drifts off from the rocks.

It soon passes the nest Scrabbit was in as it was empty and a line of dots were on the glacier wall. Further up was Scrabbit using his carrot to climb up the glacier trying to get above the ice wall where it will be safe from the rising water. Scrabbit pulls his carrot out from the ice and jabs it above it as he continues climbing.

Meanwhile, the Unusual Mane 6 was still on the rock ledge as Pinkie climbed onto Twilight's head and the water kept rising.

Scrabbit has jabbed his carrot on the glacier edge reaching the top and quickly pulls himself up and pants as he catches his breath for he was safe at last. At least that is how he appeared to be.

Suddenly, Scrabbit's moment of peace was cut short when the carrot was pressed down under him and his eyes widen as then a crack ripped open on the ice, and another crack formed as it went over the edge. The crack continues as it then follows down the wall of the glacier through the holes Scrabbit left from climbing up as Scrabbit watched. The crack continues further down into the water as some bubbles appeared.

Scrabbit was uneasily silent as he didn't like the sound of that. Then suddenly the glacier shifts breaking apart under Scrabbit as he screamed and held on to both sides with his carrot held on by his left back foot.

The glacier started to open more as the Unusual Mane 6 turns to the crack in the glacier.

Scrabbit was struggling to hold on to the glacier as it opens more, and the floodwater below was drifted through the gap. Scrabbit strained as the glacier opens further and then his head and legs were pulled into his body, and soon the pulling glaciers had him forced to let go of his carrot as he tries to reach it with his foot, but that caused his left hand to slip.

Scrabbit's left hand slipped completely as he hits the glacier wall and bounced and bounced on the walls before he started falling. The glaciers opened more as Scrabbit and his carrot fell as the water flows through the gap and they both soon hit the water and were carried away.

Meanwhile, the water continued lowering as the Unusual Mane 6 watched and the branch Trixie and Starlight were on earlier was revealed again as well as the broken rock path as they watched the water level descend more.

They all smiled as Pinkie climbed down onto Twilight's right side.

Author's Note:

Looks like Twilight has managed to free and save Flash, and Flash has saved Twilight in return, which has got their friends happy to see them alright and well. But their reunion is interrupted when they saw that they still have a flood to face and worst of all, they have missed the boat where all the others are floating on. But while the Unusual Mane 6 struggle with the flood, Scrabbit was climbing up another glacier to get away from the rising water. When Scrabbit reached the top, his carrot went into the ice and a crack appeared on the top and on the side of the glacier.

Not long after the crack reached into the water, the glacier began breaking apart which not only caused Scrabbit to struggle to hang on and then fall down into the gushing water.

But the glacier separating also caused the floodwater to drain right out of the land of Equestria.

Well, how about that?

The Rainbow Meltdown got the Scrabbit Pack into this mess and now it's getting them out.

Which could mean only one thing in the next chapter of EQUESTRIAN AGE 2: The Rainbow Meltdown.
