Chapter 25:

A Whole New Life

Soon, the floodwaters were gone as the Unusual Mane 6 headed down the rock ledge and the other Equestrian Creatures were able to leave the boat. Where a problem, in the beginning was happening again, but it was harder to understand why.

"Well, I'm not leaving!" Grampa Gruff said, refusing to leave.

"Grampa Gruff, let go of the boat," Gabby said, grabbing Gruff by the tail again.

"The flood's over. We can go home," Gilda said, watching Gabby trying to pry Gruff off the boat.

"This is my boat now!" Grampa Gruff said.

"Come on, let's go. Come on, come on, come on," The Mother Hippogriff said to her chicks as they ran passed by Flim and Flam in a pool of water on their own small boat.

"Ha ha! Derpy, we made it. We're gonna live," Flim said, feeling happy to survive the flood as he and Flam jumped off their boat.

"Well, we are anyway," Flam said as he and Flim smiled.

Gallus and Sandbar rushed by playing tag while Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie were walking.

"You know I think I would do much better opening a swim school. 'Pinkie's Little Guppies'," Pinkie said with a smile.

Pinkie suddenly saw something that made her scream, jumped, and hide behind Rainbow Dash.

"Huh?" Rainbow Dash said, being surprised as Pinkie then peeked out from behind her.

As if from nowhere, it was the tribe of Kirins that suddenly appeared.

"All hail Fire Queen!" the tall Kirin said as they then bowed down.

Pinkie reluctantly got out of hiding behind Rainbow Dash and said nervously, "Uh...Hi?".

"Hi," The Kirins said in unison as they got back on their hooves and did the same. Once again doing the copying thing.

Pinkie and Rainbow Dash turn to each other before turning back to the Kirins.

"Fire Queen has averted flood. Join us O great and noble flaming one," the tall Kirin said, thinking it was Pinkie who defeated the flood as she bowed down.

"Hmmm," Pinkie said, sounding interested in the offer. She would be respected if she went with the Kirin.

"Whoa! No, not so fast there, Ok. You make a quality offer. But The Fire Queen has a prior commitment. Her herd needs her. She is the gooey sticky syrup that holds us together. She made this herd and...We'd be nothing without her," Rainbow Dash said to the Kirins before she turns to Pinkie Pie smiling.

Pinkie beamed with happiness and asked with teary eyes, "Rainbow Dash. You mean it?".

Rainbow Dash nodded her head in reply, making Pinkie Pie hug her.

"Pinkie, Pinkie, I...Anything for my best friend," Rainbow Dash said as Pinkie hugged her some more.

Rainbow then turned to see the Kirins hugging each other as the others appeared and saw the whole thing as Rainbow Dash sighed.

"Don't ask," Rainbow said, not wanting them to spread the word about her being a softy.

What sounded like thunder was heard as Twilight and Flash looked over near the opening of the glacial mountains and saw a flock of birds fly away. After the birds left, appearing from the top of the hill and in the sunlight, were a few shapes. Twilight watches trying to make out what those shapes are, but somehow those shapes look quite similar to her as if she has seen them before.

Then appearing from the top of the hill was a migrating herd of Alicorns, a whole migrating herd of them. There were Stallions and Mares of different sizes and colors, there were colts and fillies, and there were Alicorns young and old. There were even Alicorns that have different-shaped horns. Twilight's eyes widen in amazement and awe at what she is seeing right now.

The Alicorns then walked downhill as every creature of Equestria gathered around and watched the return of the Alicorns in amazement as some of the creatures were talking to each other in amazement at the sight they were seeing.

Twilight and Flash looked at the Alicorns with amazement and then turned to each other with smiles on their faces as they turned their attention back to the other Alicorns.

The Alicorns continued on as the ground shook with every step they took. Everybody watched the Alicorns with a lot of amazement and awe as they walked by.

One Alicorn stallion, about as tall as Flash, with a brownish-red coat, brown mane, and tail, and an upward-curving horn, and Alicorn mare, about almost as tall as Twilight, with a reddish-orange coat, red mane, and tail, and a forward-facing horn turned their attention to the amazed and awed crowd as they walked by with the others.

In the crowd, Mrs. Cheerilee and her students looked at the Alicorns with so much amazement that the students, even the Cutie Mark Crusaders, said in awe, "Whoooaaa!". While Cheerilee had a look of getting the biggest "I told you so".

Pinkie, Rainbow, Trixie, and Starlight joined the others and watched the Alicorns walk by with awe and amazement.

Several equestrian creatures moved aside for the Alicorns as Twilight and Flash went up to them with smiles on their faces, now knowing that they're not the last ones of their kind. The other Alicorns walked around them as Flash said, "We're not the last ones anymore!".

Flash then turns to follow them as Twilight had an uneasy look on her face. Flash turned to her and saw that Twilight was just standing there looking at him.

"Aren't you coming, Twilight?" Flash asked.

"Wait, you wanna go with them?" Twilight asked.

"Well, I am an Alicorn. And they're Alicorns. Gotta stick together right?" Flash asked.

"Yeah but…," Twilight said until she was silent. She wasn't so sure she wanted to leave with the other Alicorns.

"But…What?" Flash asked.

"Flash…I…Uh…I just wanna say…I need to tell you…," Twilight said, struggling to find the right words.

But then her expression lowered as Twilight said, "...I hope you find everything you're looking for,".

"You too. Goodbye, Twilight," Flash said as his expression also lowered.

Then Flash turned and walked off to catch up with the Alicorn herd. Trixie and Starlight were saddened as Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie turned to see Twilight standing there all sad.

"So I guess this is goodbye, huh?" Pinkie asked as she and Rainbow Dash turned to Starlight and Trixie.

"Yup," Trixie said as she transformed her hoof into a dragon hand, gave a "Peace Out" gesture, and headed off.

Pinkie and Rainbow Dash sadly smiled as Starlight soon headed off and she and Trixie caught up with Flash. Twilight sighed sadly as she looked down at a puddle and said quietly, "Goodbye, Flash,".

Then Twilight shed a single tear as it fell into the puddle causing a single ripple. Twilight looked at her reflection in the puddle sadly. Just like before Flash literally crashed into her life, "Just you and me," She said sadly.

Then Pinkie appeared and said, "Twilight, you have come a long, long, way since we first became best friends. And I'll take full credit for that. But it's time you need to let go of the past, so you can have a future,".

Twilight smiled lightly at what Pinkie said. She looked to both her and Rainbow who walked next to them, "But girls," She tried to say, not wanting to leave them behind but Rainbow held up a hoof.

"Go after him, Twilight. He's a one-and-a-million stallion," Rainbow Dash encouraged her with a sad smile.

"And it's okay. We'll be fine even without you," Pinkie said as she placed her hoof on one of Twilight's hooves.

"I'll make sure to keep in touch with you girls," Twilight said.

"Yeah, yeah. You're a - you're a good friend. Point made. Now go on, scram," Rainbow Dash said, trying not to get emotional.

Twilight smiled before she nuzzled both of their heads and quickly rushed off while Pinkie and Rainbow Dash watched her go.

"Look at that. Our Twily's growing up," Pinkie said with a sad and proud smile.

"Indeed she is. Isn't she?" Rainbow Dash said in agreement.

"FLASH!" Twilight yelled as she hurried after the Alicorn herd.

In the Alicorn herd, Flash followed the other Alicorns until Twilight's voice was heard, "FLASH!".

Flash heard her and looked back as he squeezed his way through the other Alicorns.

"Twilight!" Flash said as Starlight and Trixie hopped off.

Flash looked around until suddenly Twilight, who was hanging from a tree branch by her tail, just as Flash did when they first met, came down in front of him as Flash jumped back a bit.

"Flash, I don't want us to be together because we have to be together, I want us to be together because we want to be together. And - and I want to be with you Flash because…I love you," Twilight said with a blush.

Flash smiled.

"I guess what I'm trying to say is…Will you be my Special Alicorn, Flash Sentry?" Twilight asked the stallion with a hopeful smile.

"Oh, Twilight. I thought you were gonna - WHOA!" Flash said as Twilight's branch snapped off and Twilight fell and hits the ground with a thump and a yelp.

Twilight was now laying on the ground and blew the tree branch out her mane, feeling very embarrassed as Flash chuckled and moved the branch off of her with his magic and said, "I would be honored to be your Special Alicorn Twilight Sparkle. Besides, you're Changeling enough for me,".

Then Flash helped Twilight up as the two Alicorns looked at each other romantically and then shared a romantic kiss as their horns crossed each other.

The other Alicorns reared up on their hind legs and whinnied as they sent beams of magic into the sky as they exploded into fireworks. Trixie and Starlight cried like mad as Trixie then blew her nose on Starlight's tail.

"Well, it looks like it's just you and me now, Rainbow. Twilight's finally where she belongs and we're just two bachelorette ponies still knocking about in the Equestrian Wild. Whoo-hoo," Pinkie said unenthusiastically despite her smile, turning to Rainbow Dash.

"Yeah, but it won't be the same without Twilight. Guess we're gonna have to get use to being a duo, huh?" Rainbow Dash said as she and Pinkie Pie headed off.

"Oh, I sure am gonna miss riding on Twilight's back at the end of our adventures," Pinkie said, being tearful.

"Who says you can't ride my back now, Pinkie?" Twilight asked as she suddenly grabbed Pinkie by the neck with her magic and pulled her back while the pink mare gags.

Rainbow Dash looked back as Twilight placed Pinkie on her back and she, Flash, Starlight, and Trixie turned to her.

"But Twilight, what are you doing? You and Flash's herd is leaving," Rainbow Dash said.

"Yup…," Flash said.

"...Our herd is leaving now," Twilight finished.

"The Great and Camouflaging Triiiiiiiixiiiie will like to ride on Rainbow's Back," Trixie said as she jumped off Flash's back and transformed into a possum before she landed on Rainbow Dash's back and they headed off.

"Hey, Twilight. Who's your bestest friend in Equestria? Me or Rainbow Dash?" Pinkie asked.

"Come on, Pinkie. You know the answer, it's both of you two," Twilight replied.

"Ha-ha, I told you Pinkie," Rainbow Dash said.

"Twilight, do you really believe Pinkie and Rainbow Dash can both be your bestest friends?" Flash asked.

"Of course. They have different personalities that suit their title. Rainbow Dash is the Speedster, I am the Alicorn Brains, and Pinkie is well…she's the Party Planner," Twilight said.

"Can I throw you and Flash a party, Twilight?" Pinkie asked Twilight.

"Sure, Pinkie," Twilight said.

"Flash, who is your bestest sister in Equestria?" Pinkie asked Flash.

"Starlight and Trixie. Obviously," Flash replied.

"You know? This could be the start of a whole new life for us," Twilight said, nuzzling Flash's neck.

The Unusual Mane 6 continued walking. For another day and another adventure with new members that are added to the family.

Author's Note:

Looks like everything has turned out alright for the Unusual Mane 6 after all.

With the floodwaters gone, everybody can get off the boat and enjoy the return of dry land. Equestria is safe at last. And what's better is that the Kirins offered Pinkie to join them, since they think it was her who averted the flood, even though it was actually Scrabbit. But Rainbow Dash stepped in and told them that their band needs Pinkie Pie because she the gooey sticky syrup and they would be nothing without her, which got Pinkie so happy that she gave Rainbow Dash a hug.

But there is also another surprise that Twilight and Flash are gonna like, appearing from the top of a hill, is a migrating herd of Alicorns which helped Twilight proved that Alicorns are indeed not extinct at all. Looks like Cheerilee has got the biggest 'I told you so' yet.

However, even knowing that they're not the last ones of their kind, Twilight was still having a hard time confessing her feelings to Flash, probably because she was still holding on to what happened to her family in the past. But after hearing a wise advice from Pinkie Pie about letting go of the past, and a little encouragement from Rainbow Dash, Twilight finally found it in her heart and expressed her feelings to Flash and the two have officially become a couple, which got the other Alicorns proud and Starlight and Trixie crying in happiness.

And to make things even more amazing, Twilight and Flash think it might be best to stay with their own herd of their One Big Happy Family.

So all has ended well for the Scrabbit Pack and they have finally overcome their fear...

Twilight has found another Alicorn, aka a new Coltfriend, and got over her past.

Rainbow Dash has got over her Phobia of Water.

Pinkie Pie got the respect she deserved.

And the Sirens and the Flood have been defeated.

Now what about Scrabbit, whatever happened to him?
