Prompt No. 258 - Promise
Prompt No. 466 - Ollivanders

"Harry, you're not in your right mind" Hermione states, her tone grating on Harry's nerves like broken glass.

"I made a promise Hermione, one I intend to keep."

"How's it going to look if you are..."

"I don't give a sod how it looks" Harry snaps, cutting her off "I deserve to live the life I want, and I want to live it with him."

Harry shoves a few more items into his rucksack. An object wrapped in cloth he tucks into a fold in his robes. Looking around to see if he's forgotten anything, he slings the bag over his shoulder.

"Harry please, just..."

"Leave it Hermione" Ron interjects, knowing his mate well enough, that her pleas will fall on deaf ears. Personally, he thinks Harry is doing the right thing, a good thing.

"Right, I'm off then" Harry announces "Ron, I'll see you at Ollivanders in a bit?"

"Yep" he smiles.

He walks from his room at the Leaky Cauldron, heads downstairs into the bar. Waving at Tom and thanking him for the hospitality, he leaves Ron and Hermione inside while he goes to the small courtyard and taps his wand against the brick wall.

Knockturn Alley hasn't changed much in the intervening years since Harry was last there. It's still dull, dank, the air thick with dark magic, the smell of death clings to him like sweat. Right at the end of the alley, next to a bookshop that Harry's sure has more books on dark magic then he's ever seen, is a small derelict flat, a grubby wooden door, barely on its hinges.

Harry opens the door carefully and walks into a dimly lit sitting room. A worn sofa, a small table the only furniture visible.

"Severus?" He calls out, stepping around a loose floorboard.

"In the kitchen" a voice answer's

Harry finds the man standing near the sink a cracked mug in his hands.

"I wasn't sure you'd come" Snape says, uncertainty and fear etched in his voice.

Harry sets his bag on the floor and moves over to the former Headmaster, taking the cup and placing it in the sink. "I made a promise and I'm keeping it" he replied softly, caressing Severus' face.

"I'm glad" Severus whispers, leaning into the touch "I love you, Harry Potter."

"I love you, Severus Snape" Harry smiles, bestowing a gentle kiss on thin lips, with a promise of more to come. "Are you ready to start our new life?"

"I am" Severus nods.

"Good, let's go then. Ron's waiting for us at Ollivanders"

"You found it?" Severus asks.

"I did" Harry answers "it's right here, safe and sound" he adds, patting his robes.

Together they make their way to the entrance to Knockturn Alley and into the bustling street of Diagon Alley. Taking his hand, Harry walks with Severus along the cobbled path and into Ollivanders.

"Ah Severus" Garrick Ollivander smiles "I thought I'd be seeing you soon. Come and let us begin".

And so, starts the first day of their new life.
