Prompt - Andy goes into Theo's office and tells Theo and Vic that she was offered the job, but turned it down because when she makes captain of 19 she wants it to be permanent, not just a babysitting gig.

Chapter One

"What?" Theo asked in an aggravated voice

Vic opens the door and walks in and Theo tries to brush her off "I don't want to talk about it,"

"Okay, but you know that- that was a lot," Vic said,

"Yeah, well, now I gotta file a report with FD that I can't keep my own freaking station safe. I mean, they made me look like.." Theo sighs "An idiot." Vic tried to speak but Theo just keeps talking "No, I'm telling you. Herrera's pissed I got this job."

"Oh, my god," Vic exclaimed and turned to face the window

"No, she thinks this is her house, and no one else should run it except her," Theo said.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey. You know that's not- that is not who she is." Vic was trying to defend her friend. Not only because she knew Andy would never try to burn down her home but also because she was in the kitchen at the same time Andy was.

"Don't, Okay? I mean it." Theo just refused to hear anything Vic had to say.

What Theo and Vic didn't realize was that the door was open and Herrera was listening to what was being said

"I can't believe you think so little of me. Do you honestly think I would do this to you? That dinner-"

Theo cuts Andy off. "You know what Herrera? Yeah, I really do think you're capable of something like this. I mean, just look at what you did to Station 23." Theo paused, not even noticing Andy's hurt expression or hearing the rest of the team coming down the stairs. Andy's thoughts went back to what happened that day while Theo continued, getting up, "You know, you probably would've been captain of this house by now if you didn't screw up so badly. I mean just look what happened that night, that was all on you"

Vic tries to stop him "Theo, that isn't-"

"Herrera, you make these messes for yourself. Now get out of my sight." Theo said, pointing at the door, not noticing the tears in Andy's eyes.

"Theo, you're being ridiculous," Andy told him, tired of hearing the trash that was coming from his mouth.

"How so? Chief Ross offered me the acting captain position, Herrera!" Andy chuckled "What's so funny?"

"Ruiz, Chief Ross offered me the job before you. I said no." Andy took pleasure in the shocked look on Theo's face but when she looked at Vic, she was just looking down and Andy felt bad. Knowing that Vic wanted her boyfriend to be captain. "I'm more than a babysitter. When I become captain I want to stay captain."

"Well, I guess it won't happen now since you were stupid enough to blow the chance you had." Theo paused, still not realizing that the team was listening to everything by the stairs. "First you fucked up your chance with Ripley at the high-rise fire. Then when you got Ryan Killed and couldn't face your emotions so your dad told Sullivan to not name you as captain." Andy's eyes teared up again.

"How dare y-"

"How dare I?" Theo mocked

"Theo. You need to stop right now. This is so not needed." Vic tried to stop her boyfriend once again.

"Shut up, Vic."

Vic looks so hurt so Andy speaks up again. "Theo you need to shut the hell up and stop being so rude to your girlfriend."

"Herrera, you need to worry about your own messed up life right now."

"Ruiz, I think you need to shut up. You're doing more damage to this house than Beckett has at this point" Robert said walking into the office.

"Sullivan you need to go away. This has nothing to do with you." Theo told him, hate dripping from his voice.

"If you're talking to one of my teammates like this, yes it does," Robert told him, getting mad.

"So you need men to fight your battles for you?" Andy was about to speak but Theo continued. "Well, I mean, maybe it's a good thing since when you do you've ended up killing someone."

Andy doesn't even have a come back so just runs out of the office and through the barn to the parking lot before anyone could catch her, not even Maya.

Andy drove away from the station and when she was far enough away she moved the backseat of her car and sobbed, she just doesn't know what to do. Do the others think of me like that too? She couldn't help but question herself. She feels her phone vibrating and picks it up and sees that it's Chief Ross calling, she just lets it ring, not wanting to talk to anyone. She put the phone down on the seat beside her, it starts to light up with the team sending her texts but she just can't get herself to pick it up so she leaves it in the backseat and drives to Michelle's apartment knowing that no one would know to look for her there.

I know. I know. I made Ruiz an absolute dick, more than needed, but I really hate how he treated Vic in the latest season after he had been so sweet to her during her abortion. So I'm sorry if you like Theo but I need to get my hate out for him somehow lol. He also went from being a great friend to Andy at 23 to being horrible to her when she was one of the only ones supportive of him when he first made acting captain. When Ross named him acting captain she even looked so proud so I'm disappointed with how he reacted when she told him Ross made him captain at the firefighters' ball. Anyways, rant over.
