Previously-
I went to kick out to defend myself, and that's when I felt the pain in my head. Then all I saw was black.
Now- Chris POV-
My mind was racing.
'Could she really be my sister?' I felt bad for how I had been treating her, but I couldn't seem to help it. Brianna came, and had a paper in her hands. She looked around, probably looking for the girl.
"Where's Bella?" She asked, and it took me a minute to realize who she was talking about. It dawned on me, and I shrugged.
"She said that she had to go to the bathroom." I said, thinking nothing of it.
"That was thirty minutes ago, Chris. What is going on with you? We've been friends my whole life, and I know EVERYTHING about you. I have never seen you that cruel, to anyone." I took a breath.
"She can't be my sister. My sister's dead." Was all I said, as if it was the obvious answer. She looked at me with pity, before slowly placing the paper in my hand.
"Actually, according to my results, she is your sister." I started, and looked in her eyes, afraid to look down at the paper. She placed her hand on my shoulder, and gave it a squeeze before walking back into the lab.
I looked down at the paper, and on top it said in big bolded words 99% match. I swallowed hard, and began walking toward the bathroom she had been directed to.
'What do I say to her now?' When I got near the bathroom, I was plowed into by a woman who had run out the doors. My arms instinctively reached out to catcher as she began falling backward. Once she was stable on her feet, she thanked me. I nodded and asked,
"Are you okay? What's wrong?" She stuttered out that the bathroom was destroyed. I told her to go get security, and I would check and make sure there was no one hurt still in the bathroom. She nodded and took off down the hallway. I took a breath, and pushed open the door, slowly. I have to shield my eyes, because of all the water that was spraying around, from the broken pipes.
"Hello?" I called out. "Is anyone in here?" I asked as I made my way farther in. "Bella?" The deafening silence was deafening. I took another step, and heard a crack. I looked down, and saw a purse. Reaching down, I opened the purse, feeling weird about going through someone's belongings. I reached in, an found the purse, it was Bella's purse. I put the wallet back in the purse when I felt a sharp edge, and slowly pulled out what looked to be a vial. I looked at the name.
"Nova rapid." I whispered, not knowing what it was, but knowing if she had it in her purse, she probably needed it. Just then I heard the door opening, and a female voice floated over the noise of the spurting water. I shoved the bottle in the purse, and whispered. "Purse, my car." It disappeared, right as I saw a woman in a security uniform come in.
"Did you find anyone?" I shook my head, faced forward, and was about to stand up, when a symbol caught my eye. A symbol I knew too well. The sign of the Source. MY heart began to race. I schooled my features, and as I stood up. I made sure to wipe across the symbol with my hand, so no one who saw it knew what it was. I needed to get home fast. I knew I needed to tell my family, and I knew my parents would be so disappointed in me. I slowly picked my way back out of the bathroom. Once I was out, the guard thanked me for checking for injured. I nodded, and as soon as I could I left. I went back to the lab. I needed to know what potentially the medicine was for. I stopped around the corner, and orbed the purse back to me.
When I got there, Bri saw me, and her eyes widened. She ran out of the lab.
"Chris, what happened to you?" I shook my head.
"No time." I said, pulling out the vial. "What is this?" I handed her the vial, breathing hard, from the fear of finding my sister and potentially losing her in one day. She read it, and said.
"This is insulin. It's used by type 1 diabetics. Where did you get this, and whose purse is that?" She said grabbing my hand, as I went to put it back in the purse.
"Its Bella's. I found it in the bathroom, on top of the Source's mark." Her eyes widened, and nearly shoved me toward the exit.
"Go! Save your sister." I nodded orbing Bella's purse back to my car, before making my way to the exit, as fast as I could without looking suspicious. Once I got to my car, I went to start the car when I felt a pain in my stomach. I grunted, and my hand flew to my stomach, of its own accord. As soon as it went away I whipped my phone out and sent the Triquetra to my family, before looking around, placing my hand on the door, and orbed into the garage. I grabbed the purse, and ran into the house, and straight to the sunroom.
"Uh… Chris… What's with the…" I shook my head.
"I'm sorry aunt Phoebe, but no time. Long story short, earlier today another girl showed up at the house, claiming to be Phoenix. We went to get our blood tested with Bri, and she was right." I pulled out the results of the test, and handed the paper to mom. She took it in shaky hands, dad leaning over her shoulder to look. I looked to Wyatt.
"She's our sister." I watched him carefully for a reaction. His shoulder's tensed, looking behind me. He always felt like he should've protected her. He was always told he knew when to shied someone, and feels guilt for failing Phoenix that night.
"Then where is she?" Paige asked, also looking behind me.
"The source kidnapped her. I found her purse.." I said, placing the purse on the table before continuing, "In the women's bathroom on top of HIS mark." Everyone's eyes widened the longer I talked. They were still for a moment, before mom jumped up and snatched the purse from the table. Taking off toward the attic she said,
"What are we waiting for then? Let's find my daughter." Everyone followed her, everyone that is except aunt Phoebe and myself. She walked up to me, with a look I knew all too well.
"Not now aunt Phoebe, please." I said, wanting to talk about the events of the last few hours, but not knowing what was happening to my twin, the one I thought was dead, was making my stomach clench in fear.
"Why do you feel guilty, Chris?" She asked, and I sighed, knowing she wouldn't let it go.
"I was so cruel to her aunt Phoebe. Once she told me she thought she was my sister, I did everything I could to make her want to leave. I didn't mean to, but it was like I wasn't in control of my body. I even went so far as to imply, pretty heavily that her dad, who wrote her a letter saying that she was my sister, was a crazy lair who didn't matter. Even if we save her…" I ranted, before she cut me off, by saying only one word.
"When." I looked at her, and asked.
"Huh?" My brain not fully registering what she said.
"It's not if we find her, but when. Chris, I don't know what happened between you two, in the short time you were together, and it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters right now is that…" I couldn't hear anything else, and I felt a burning on my face, causing my eyes to sting and water.
I don't remember falling to the floor, but next thing I knew I feel aunt Phoebe's hand rubbing circles on my back, and her asking me what's wrong.
"I'm okay." I huffed out. "I don't know what happened." I looked at her, but she just shrugged.
"I don't know either, sweety, but we'll have plenty of time to figure that out, after we save Phoenix." I nodded and stood, if not a little shakily, before we both headed upstairs. We got upstairs, and I heard mom muttering to herself, as she dangled the scrying crystal above the map of San Francisco.
"Drop, damn thing, drop." She muttered, repeatedly. I looked over to aunt Paige and saw her she had enough of what I knew by the color to be the potion the she created. She created it when Phoenix first got taken. She took it upon herself to make sure that if anyone came near us, we would regret it. It's a torture potion. It makes the person feel as if your skin is melted.
She worked on it while mom was constantly scrying, or trying different spells. She even tried the "To Call a Lost Witch" spell. The one that brought aunt Paige back to our family, years ago. Nothing worked, and on my 16th birthday, she asked me to try the lost witch spell, hoping the fact that we were twins would help. Looking back now, I remembered that I didn't believe she was alive. If I had believed, maybe it would've worked.
I walked over to mom, and placed my hand on her shoulder. Seconds later she exclaimed,
"Yes!" I looked to see the scrying crystal, pointing to the warehouse district. "Got her, let's go." We all went to stand together, when I got another blinding pain. This time however, it felt like I was getting beaten up. I grunted, and aunt Phoebe and my mom were next to me in an instant.
"Same feeling as last time?" I shook my head, while my mom and dad asked,
"Last time?" Aunt Phoebe quickly explained what happened downstairs.
"Is that what you're feeling now, Chris?" Dad asked, right when I felt a blow to my back. I hissed, and reached behind to the spot that was now throbbing.
"No, it feels like I'm getting beaten up." Mom and dad looked at each other.
"What?" I said, trying to suppress the pain.
"When you and your sister were born the elders came to us… " Dad started, when aunt Paige interrupted.
"Of course they did…" Mom gave her a look, before picking up the story.
"They told us that there was a possibility that you two would have the ability to feel each others emotions, and so much more." I think, now that you know she is your sister, you're developing the ability to do just that." I stood up, grimacing.
"then we need to get going , then." Everyone nodded, and we all orbed near where the crystal landed, and heard grunting.
