AN: Well, there's another chapter, I probably won't be uploading another chapter for a day or two, mostly because this chapter has around 4000 words, 4,300 to be nearly exact. I wasn't planning to make this chapter that long, but the draft chapter I wrote down was to my liking, so I built off of that, adding more details and dialogue. I'm not sure if what The Spot here does here would be exactly what he would've done, but I tried my best to make him seem like him. Then there's the new character that will be introduced in the chapter, you'd probably know who it is the moment you know her weapon. I realize that she(yes the character is a she) won't be like her usual self, and that's mostly because of The Spot committing criminal acts, breaking the law n' stuff. Plus, she wouldn't know if the spot is all friendly and stuff, I feel like I would have to mention that. It's hard to explain but eventually later in the story, if she and The Spot become a little more friendly, then I would probably make her more like herself when she's around people she knows. Don't count on it though.

Johnathon Ohnn

Snore, pop.

I forced my upper body up, sitting on the ground. I looked around, groggily, as I found myself sitting on top of a building. Right. You know, I thought it was going to be easier to find that other criminal since he's been robbing most of the dust in town.

Even I, who doesn't even bother reading the news, have heard about it. Seriously, what is he even going to do with that amount of dust? Well… I already came up with a theory on what but it's not really that good if he does plan to use the dust that way.

I watched the dust store that sat in between the many buildings that filled the block. I've been searching and scouting for days, seeing if he planned to rob this dust store, but nope, he hasn't. You know, I get he does this whole criminal thing, but you'd think he'd spare time for his fans, well, if he had any, anyway, that was supposed to be a joke, in a way… nevermind.

I placed a portal down, and walking through it I found myself in the sto- into a big pile of trash, great. I groaned as rats moved about as I shuffled around. Ew, nasty. I jumped out of the trash bin. A big piece of yellow substance got on my arm. I squirmed, swiping it off my arm.

"Ew, ew, ew, never doing that again," I said, my shoulders slumped, "why can't my portals just work like I want them to."

I opened up another portal against a wall. Sticking my head inside, I found myself inside the dust store, with lots of different sections and varieties. I'm not really too interested in the dust, I'm more interested in the lien now since I need money to have a roof over my head.

Walking inside the portal and standing in an aisle, I headed down further into the store. Right as I was about to head behind the counter, an alarm blared.

Really? Seriously, what's up with the stores in this city with their inconsistent alarm systems? Well, at least this person bothered with motion sensors to secure his store which is a good thing because if I was him I would want my store to be secured tight. But it's not a good thing right now since that meant that if I triggered an alarm, which I did, authorities would be coming in a few minutes.

I jumped the counter, taking the lien out from the register. Why isn't the life of a criminal easy… well, it is, I just stole some lien and I'm literally about to get away.

Although, I don't want to meet any form of authority. I increased my pace, placing the lien inside one of the spots on my body, hopefully sending it to my room.

While I was distracted securing the goods, I stubbed my toe on a hard metal before tripping on boxes that were out in the open for some reason.

"Ow, ow, ow, why did I have to keep my sense of pain." I whined.

I leaned against a wooden shelf, holding onto my foot. Really, why the hell do they have the equipment and boxes out in the open?

The sound of wood groaning reverberated in my ears, right don't have ears. I turned around and saw the wooden shelf I was leaning on slowly falling over. That's not good.

As it fell it caused a domino effect, hitting the other shelves and causing them to fall on the others.

"Ohhh, that's not good, I should probably leave, I don't want to pay for the damages, well, not like I would, but still," I said as I watched the destruction unfolding, "hopefully, the owner will understand that this was an accident like how the lien disappearing from his register was also an accident."

A few seconds later and the ruckus ended. Welp, time to leave, I prefer to stay anywhere else other than a prison cell in a few minutes. I mean, if they gave me a comfy bed, good food, and also my own laboratory with the right equipment to make a collider then maybe, just maybe, I would consider it.

Walking to the front entrance of the store, I was halted in my tracks.

I groaned, "Hey, what a coincidence meeting you here," I said.

The young girl from the dust store stood in front of the entrance, looking at me with a bewildered expression. Her eyes watched as the spots on my body moved about like they had a mind of their own, her eyes wandered behind me, looking at the destruction I caused.

"Um, I prefer not to be checked out while knowing I am," I said which caused the girl to look me straight in the face, though, I don't think that made it any better.

"I know this may seem a bit bad," I scratched my head, "but I had a good reason to, see, I kind of left my wallet in this store and, you know, the store was already closed and, I'll be honest, I'm not patient at all."

She stared at me, with a look that didn't believe a single thing that came out of my mouth.

"Right…" She said, stretching it out.

"Aren't you the guy that I saved before?" She asked.

"Oh, if you meant when I was about to get shot by the guy with a cane, then yes," I replied, "Although, It was a bit surprising that the cane was capable of killing someone, are killer canes the usual around here?"

"Umm, no?" She said before shaking her head, "Hey… are you trying to distract me from noticing that you're robbing this store?"

I stared, "is it working?" I said while lifting my shoulders up.

She gave me a befuddled look, "No… okay, it may have worked at first. But you know you shouldn't be stealing from people, that's bad."

"Well, no duh, but I'm not stealing from anybody, I'm just borrowing their money."

"You can't borrow money." She replied.

"Well, now you can," I sighed, "please, I don't want to fight, I just want to go home and lay down on my oddly comfortable couch, like a normal person."

"A normal person wouldn't be stealing from a store!" She said before a moment of calming down, "And a normal person wouldn't be wearing a weird costume like that, it's not even Halloween yet," She pointed out.

"Hey, that isn't nice. You know, I just got comfortable going out in public looking life this, and first time that I do, someone insults my appearance."

"Wait," She scanned me from top to bottom, "That's actually how you look like?"

"Unfortunately, yes," I said, I pinched my skin as it stretched like elastic, "this is my skin."

"It sort of happened when a certain spider-man caused a collider to explode while I was holding onto a container that had a black hole inside of it, next thing I know, it caused me to change into this."

"But it does have some benefits, like being able to place portals and being able to steal stuff easily too."

She looked at me with a bewildered face again, like I was crazy, and didn't believe whatever I just spewed out.

"You wouldn't get it," I said.

"Uhuh, I'm sure I won't," She replied.

"So… is this the part where you chase me down and apprehend me to the authorities?" I asked.

"I mean, if you put back whatever you stole and apologize to the store owner then no."

"Can I keep the money and just apologize?"

"Wha-" She said, dumbfounded, "That doesn't make sense at all. You'd be apologizing because you tried to steal from him. If you apologized without giving his stuff back that'd just be mean, like rubbing salt into a wound."

"Okay, so what if I give back the money and apologize but steal the money after, would that be better?" I asked her, obviously messing around, but I probably shouldn't since the authorities could arrive at any moment now.

She groaned, "Know what," She swung her red box out, turning it into a scythe, "You'll return the money and apologize to him when you're in prison."

"Well, that just isn't fair," I said, a saddened tone in my voice.

The young girl lunged forward, heading straight towards me. I ducked underneath, covering my head.

A whistle was heard and an impact at the end, the young girl landed perpendicular to the wall she landed on, causing a small crater.

"Look who's causing more damage than me already, you should just leave me alone and call it a day, that's what I would've done." I said.

"You already destroyed most of the store!" She bickered.

"No, all I did was cause most of the shelves to fall over, plus, that was an accident and that's nothing compared to the damage you're causing to the building right now," I explained before continuing, "In all seriousness, why do people put the blame on one person instead of sharing the blame, really shows how cruel people are."

"I'm not cruel! You're the cruel one for robbing this store, for all you know, this business could be struggling right now." She said.

"I didn't say you were cruel, you could be kind, which is obviously not the case since you tried slicing me in half with a scythe, but I forgive you since I'm a non-cruel person," I said before continuing, "And you may be right, but I'm also struggling, so it's either me or them," I said while I picked up some dust canisters off the ground and sent it through a spot in my body.

"See! You're stealing from them in front of my eyes!" She shouted, she was visibly vexed or irritated.

"No, I'm placing them somewhere a little safer since a little girl with a giant scythe decided to start taking swings at me. You know, you could hurt someone or yourself with that. How'd you even get your hands on that?" I said as I tossed the last of the dust canisters.

She grumbled before trying to speak up, I interrupted her, "Now, if you don't mind, I have important places to be, like my home, on my couch, sleeping, byeeee," I said, waving a hand towards her.

I ran outside the front entrance as the wind chimes rattled from the force. The wind chimes rattled again, I looked back and saw the young girl following me along with her giant red scythe.

I groaned, "You know, it's kind of weird following a stranger in the dark," I said.

"It's because you're stealing! You're a criminal!" She whined.

"Hey, it's not good to call people criminals without any concrete proof, that's a life ruining accusation," I explained.

"I saw you steal dust canisters right in front of me!"

"I was only putting them somewhere safer, I already explained that."

She rolled her eyes. She switched her scythe into some sort of sniper rifle… what the hell. What's with this world and making their melee weapons into guns? A shot whizzed by my head as I ducked.

"Woah! You could've killed me!" I shouted.

"Relax, it would've left a bruise since your aura would've blocked it," She paused, "that's common sense."

"Well, I don't got aura like yourself, so it'd be kind if you didn't make a hole in me, not like I already have a ton, but I don't want a hole that can kill me," I said.

"You don't have aura?" She asked with an exasperated expression.

"Yea, now leave me alone, please?" I asked nicely.

"No!" She said.

"Well, I tried."

I grabbed a spot from my body, pulling on it, and tossed it in front of me, opening up a portal that can fit a person my size inside. Another bullet whizzed by my head, entering the portal, I stumbled on the way inside, it was quiet, I looked up and saw that I was surrounded by bookshelves. Back in the library.

"Oh come on, I don't have time to read-" I stopped for a moment, staring at a book title that read 'The man who fell in love with a bagel.' I stopped and grabbed the book, reading it for a bit.

"What kind of book- who thought this was good enough to publish? How do you even fall in love with a bagel?" I asked myself. The book had a folded piece of paper inside which opened up perpendicular to the spine of the book. I turned the book to its side.

A picture unfolded itself as I stared at the contents. My eyes, even though I don't have eyes- my eyes!

I immediately threw the book away, it headed towards the portal I exited. The young girl finally came out of the portal but got hit by the book I threw, that landed directly on her head.

"Ow!" She yelped. She rubbed her head for a bit before looking up at me with one eye.

"Careful where you're throwing books, also, you're not supposed to throw books!" She yapped.

"Well, I didn't know you were actually going to follow me through my portal."

"I had no choice, I can't let a criminal get away when I have the chance to stop them," She explained.

I sighed, "I'm not a criminal, I'm just borrowing money and I'll, eventually, pay it back later."

"You mean pay it back in a million years?" She asked sarcastically.

"Exactly."

She pointed her sniper rifle at me, I pinched a portal off my body and threw it beneath me, causing me to fall into the portal.

Ow! gah! Ouch! Wah! Oh my. I rubbed my butt as branches, leaves, and sticks stuck all over me. I wiped them all off, standing back up. I scanned the area. I'm back in the forest I was originally in when I first arrived here. I took a couple of steps till I heard a snap, I looked down and found my foot inside a now crushed skull.

"Ohh, he really did die," I took my foot out of his skull, "sorry," I grimaced.

I heard branches from above rustle and shake. I groaned. I started running again, dodging and weaving in between the trees again, this time without stumbling. I think I'm getting better at this, running, of course.

I looked behind and saw a red blur closing the distance between me and her.

Howls

The bush, to my left, shook. I watched as a black wolf lunged toward me, its jaws a few feet away from chomping down on me. Suddenly a loud shot echoed throughout the forest. The wolf jolted, as it lay dead on the ground.

I turned around, the young girl held her scythe-rifle in her hand aiming exactly where the wolf's head was. I gulped, "Thanks, but I'm not going to turn myself in just because you saved me."

I was about to open another portal till a shot whizzed by me again. It was odd, It's obvious that she can hit her shots, that one wolf as an example. But she's not shooting me at all, did she actually believe me when I said I have no aura- or she could honestly have gotten a lucky shot on the wolf, I wouldn't know.

I stumbled a bit, but thankfully placed a portal down. Falling into the portal, I couldn't feel anything, well, more like I couldn't feel the ground. My body was falling down, I was above the city of Vale, thousands of meters above. It was beautiful, yea, but I kind of didn't want to plummet to my death.

The wind screamed in my ears. I looked behind, or above, and I saw the young girl appear out of the portal too, her red cape fluttering in the wind. She screamed in surprise as she held tightly to her weapon. Well, I don't blame her, I'd be screaming too if I was falling from this height, which I am currently doing right now.

I screamed my lungs out. If I had any.

I immediately opened another portal, and after entering, I was met with the sky. I was heading up now. After reaching my peak height, I placed another portal below me. I didn't care where it took me, as long as it took me anywhere soft and on the ground then that's alright with me.

Entering through the portal, it was dark for a moment, light entered my eyes as I received the information of my surroundings. It was my room, and I was heading directly toward my coffee table. Dammit. I held my arms forward, protecting my head.

Crash!

Ow, that hurt. I moaned in pain. Rubbing my head I stared at the portal, expecting her to appear out of too, which she did. I watched as her head came out, her eyes tightly closed. I looked around her, she transformed her scythe to its box form, thankfully. But the rest of her body made it out, her momentum carrying over causing her to crash onto me.

I groaned. I looked up, I swear I see birds circling my head. My vision was hazy, I smacked my head a couple of times before it came back. I wonder how that works. Wait, I didn't move my arms. I touched my face and found an arm on it, moving up I felt a hand that had smooth skin, it felt too smooth to be mine. I looked down, her body laying on top of me.

Her arm was sticking through a hole on my abdomen. Her other hand crawled up my stomach which fell through another hole on my abdomen that caused her to yelp in surprise. Her other hand came out of the hole on the back of my hand.

Her eyes finally opened as she shook her head, she looked at me before looking at the arm on my face. She scrunched her eyes.

"Hey, uh, not to alarm you, but your arm is kind of on my face," I said before continuing, "also, can you get off of me, not to be rude, of course, I'm pretty sure any guy would like a girl on top of them," I explained before continuing, "not me though, already have a wife and a son," I said.

She got up quickly, "My arm it's-" She screamed before it trailed off, "it's still attached?" She questioned. She tested her hands' grip, opening and closing it.

"Yea, my holes kind of do that, you know, the teleportation thing," I said. I pulled myself up, dusting myself off.

"Right…" She said, still staring at her hands.

The girl's eyes widened, almost forgetting the fact that she was chasing me, which I was kind of hoping she still forgot about, like in as forever.

She grabbed onto the red rectangular box on her waist that transformed back into her scythe which immediately transformed into the sniper rifle.

She pointed the barrel straight at my face, "Woah, woah," I held my hands forward, trying to calm her down, "You're really going to shoot me, in my own home at that?" I said before continuing, "Are you really going to kill me because I just stole some lien? There's people out there who do far worse things than me, you know."

"Wha- I'm not going to kill you! I'm just making sure you don't try anything funny or run off again." She said, while her index finger was resting on the trigger.

"Your finger resting on the trigger isn't reassuring," I said as I tried to move my head away from the barrel as far as possible, crawling back a bit. It's not the most comfortable thing to have a barrel pointing directly at your face while you lay on a broken coffee table.

"Oh, sorry." She said, her index finger rested on the side of the trigger.

Ring, ring, ring.

She stared at me without moving, "You going to pick that up or..?" I asked.

"I would, but what if you try to run away again."

"I'm not that rude, I'll wait here… patiently, and when you're done you can do without pointing a barrel directly at my face, deal?" I said.

Her face sat in contemplation, and she moaned in annoyance, "Fine, but if you do run away- next time I see you I won't give you another chance to run away." She said, staring at me skeptically.

She lifted the barrel away, turning her gun back into its box form.

I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding nor did I know I can hold since, you know, I don't have to explain why.

I watched her as she pulled out a device that looked like a phone but instead of a screen, it was holographic. Well, good to know the city is way more technologically advanced than the settlements out there.

"What?! Roman is chasing you?" She said, talking into the phone.

"You should've wait for us!"

"Ugh, I'm on my way."

The young girl closed her device, ending the call. I sat on the couch, my hands were on my knees as I tapped a finger repeatedly. Roman, it was the same dude I met at 'From Dust till Dawn' I found out his name through the news, a lot of people were talking about him in public too. He's what's causing the prices of dust to skyrocket. Supply and demand. And he's the person I'm looking for.

"You're done?" I asked before continuing, "it was getting kind of boring, so I replaced my coffee table with a new one." I said, my arms swayed towards the direction of the new coffee table.

She scrunched her eyes, confused at the fact I was able to replace the coffee table in an instant.

She shook her head, "Did you steal that too?" She asked skeptically.

"No… I bought it," I stood in silence for a moment, "With my own money, that I earned."

"You mean stole?"

"That I earned by stealing," I finished but continued, "You know, it's not easy robbing stores around here, well, actually, it was, but I'm just saying that it isn't easy making a living out here as a criminal."

"Then why don't you find a job? Why don't you try working or something that doesn't involve breaking the law or committing crimes." She asked.

"Well, that's because I look like this." I opened my arms, showing my entire body.

"You think I didn't want to live a normal life? I used to be a normal person before I became this!" I shouted.

I don't know what came over me, maybe it's the fact that I've had to deal with all this, a run-down hotel, committing crimes, and nobody to talk with for weeks except for the receptionist lady but she's not the best of people, and getting chased around, all of this without anything to release these… riled emotions. I placed both of my hands on my face, massaging my face. I feel like a teen again with all these emotions.

"Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean to shout," I said.

"No… it's fine." She said as she rubbed her arm, her face took a form of pity. I despise pity.

"So, anyway, now that we're cool," I said.

"We're cool?" She asked, questioningly.

"Well, you're not pointing a barrel at my face, so, I think that means we're cool, unless you want something different like, 'we're chill' or something."

"Fine, only if you promise not to commit any more crimes." She said.

"How will I make any money? I'll be living in the streets inside some cardboard box with a pet dog sometime later." I whined.

She held a hand to her chin, "We'll figure it out later," She said before continuing "right now I have to go, my friends need me."

My shoulders slumped, "Well, can I at least get your name?" I asked.

"Oh, thought I mentioned it during my totally super cool introduction I made," She said with a confused look on her face like she was trying to remember something.

"Um, I don't remember you doing a 'totally super cool introduction.' Though if you did, you might've received some applause," I said, continuing, "from me of course because, you know, nobody else was there besides us," I explained.

"Right, anyway, my name is Ruby, Ruby Rose," She said.

"Ruby Rose, that's kind a nice play of words there. You know, because a rose is kind of like a ruby color, I like it, honestly." I said before standing up.

"Thanks, I've never head of that response before," She scratched her head, "but thanks."

"Yea, I'm not surprised, I was always the odd one in where I worked, though, in return, I was the best scientist," I paused, "Well, till I became like this," I said, obviously mentioning the change in my appearance.

"Right…" She trailed off, "What about you, what's your name?"

I stared at her in silence. I wanted to say Johnathon Ohnn, but something inside of me refused. It could be because I'm on a different planet. You know the saying 'new year, new me' it's kind of like that but it's more like 'new planet, new me.' If that makes any sense.

Plus, I'm a criminal now, and even though she asked me to not commit crimes anymore I, eventually, will and will continue to do so. Then there's the fact that I barely knew the girl, but I won't disregard the fact that she saved me.

"Hello?" She said, waving her hand in front of my face, "It's really hard to tell if you're sleeping while standing up or just ignoring me,"

"Oh, sorry, I was just thinking," I said, pausing for a moment.

"Oh, alright, but you still didn't answer my question, what's your name?" She asked again.

I looked at the black holes on my arms, they looked like spots, black spots on a white body.

"My name is…" I said calmly, "…The Spot."
