AN: Sorry for the long wait, I know last chapter I said I would be uploading a lot more this week but I honestly didn't feel like it, my motivation for the story hasn't been doing so well, but I will continue writing this story if I regain a bit more motivation later on, though I'm not sure how long that will be. I do have more planned out for this story later on, but it will have to wait.

AN2: Also, I'm not sure if I depicted the characters in here correctly or not, though, I tried my best. I think this mostly because I literally just wrote this chapter today, didn't bother to check it for grammatical errors if I'm going to be honest, but the next chapters I eventually will post, I don't know when, will be checked.

AN3: Update speed/Chapters. I probably won't be uploading chapters that much unless I get a boost of motivation which is very random, but I'm stating this because I want to work on new fanfic, this won't include The Spot or RWBY, so, sorry to you guys who love em. If you're curious, it's going to be a crossover between Made in Abyss and Percy Jackson, but just reading and watching Made in Abyss makes me sweat in how detailed it is and how it goes in depth of a depressing mood, kind of, there's a lot about it which is a bit spooky for fanfic writers.

Hope you enjoy the Read, also if you're confused about things during this chapter I'll explain it at the end.

The Spot

a few days later….

I was exhausted, going back n' forth getting all the crates of dust into this huge subway system Roman wanted them in, specifically the abandoned train here.

"Those portals are something else, look how much we've got done thanks to you." Roman said.

"Heh," I scratched my head, "No problem, it's the least I could do since you've given me that warehouse, and you also being a business partner and because they're supposed to work together, you know?"

Roman replied in a hum, watching the White Fang members loading the dust onto the train.

"Just a few more hours and we'll be sending this off to the city of Vale." Roman said, he closed his eyes for a moment.

"If this attack is successful, my source of lien is going to take a major hit." Roman sighed as he rubbed his temple.

"Then why are you going through with it?" I asked.

"That's the thing," Roman said, frustration in his tone but continued, "I don't want to go through with it, but miss sparky, our 'client' wants to go through with it, though she promised a big sum of lien, so there's that." Roman relaxed his shoulders.

I stood there quietly, watching the train load up with red dust. Fire dust can be very explosive, even causing fires if not handled carefully. They're loading the train up with so much of it. I'd be dumb to not know what they're planning.

I try not to think about it, but when I do my heart wanes. Well, I don't have to think about it after I start up the small-scale collider. I'm almost done with it, all I have to do is plug it into multiple outlets inside the warehouse and then drain all the city's power. And, hopefully, I can make it back to my home, my family, and everything I had.

But at the cost of a few thousand people… I shook the thought out of my head.

"Roman…" A lone woman in a dark red dress said. My head turned towards her direction, watching her approach slowly.

"Sparky, what can I do for you? Especially at this time of night." Roman said.

"Nothing at all, your role has been completed and at a rate exceptionally higher than what my boss expected." Cinder said.

"Haha," A fake laugh, "I'm the best thief in vale, what'd you expect? But it was thanks to Spot that we were able to load the train with all of our dust." Roman smirked, "I give credit where credit is due, but I'm not saying I didn't do most of the work." Roman added.

Cinder placed a hand on her hip, "Well, I'm here to tell you both that the work you've done is appreciated and won't be disregarded by my boss and…" Cinder slowly said, "You both will also be paid handsomely, more than offered at first, for the outstanding work."

Cinder gazed in my direction, looking at me, "And you… my boss wants to have a word with you after the city of Vale falls."

"What? Why, did I do something to upset your boss?" I asked hesitantly.

"Unfortunately, no, but it's on the topic of your abilities and the use of them for later plans we have sorted out," Cinder carefully said.

"Oh, alright, I thought it was going to be something bad, but it's good to know that I have more job opportunities later on." I said.

"Indeed." Cinder said.

"Well, you'll be contacted again when we need you again after the train hits the city you'll be sent the lien digitally, split it between you two or not, I don't care," Cinder said before walking off, "Also, don't think about tracking down where the lien was sent from, it won't lead you anywhere."

Roman clicked his tongue after she left, "As if I would try, seriously." Roman said.

"Hey, Spot, mind helping me place these bombs inside the cargo, just teleport the bombs into the compartment on top of the cargo." Roman asked.

"Oh, yeah, I can do that, not a problem," I said. I pinched a portal off my body, placing it beneath the bombs. The bombs fell through. I opened multiple portals into every single cargo compartment.

"Wow, that was quick, your portals are really handy for this type of work." Roman said.

"I think it's handy for about anything." I said.

"Boss," One of the two goons said, "We found this young girl trespassing."

Roman raised an eyebrow. His eyes wandered between the two goons… it was Ruby, who was also locked in between the two goons.

"Ugh, red? Seriously, why do you so happen to be at the exact moment we're about to do anything." Roman asked as he rubbed his temple.

Roman swung his cane forward, hitting Ruby in the face. The two goons released Ruby as she flew backward a few meters. Dust and dirt flew up as she made impact with the ground.

Roman followed behind, his strides long, "Now," Roman said slowly, "Mind explaining how you got here?"

Ruby's eyes fluttered before she finally regained her focus. She looked up to see Roman in front of her as her back lay against the ground, her eyes gazed at me, her face had a look I couldn't describe. Ruby growled before turning into petals causing Roman to be disorientated.

I looked around before finding her, running off in the opposite direction of Roman. My heart began to beat a little faster. I'm hoping for the best for Ruby. I can't help her now, I don't want to be Roman's next target, especially before I could start up that collider and see if it really does work as I planned.

But, if she does seem like she's in danger, I wouldn't have any other choice but to help her. She saved me before and I've already repaid her the favor, but there's another reason why I want to help. A small reason is that me and her are 'friends' but the biggest reason is that I can't watch people die in front of me.

But what about the people that will die because of the train? The train that's full of dust that's meant for the city of Vale. Are you going to let those people die just because they're not in front of you?

Have you changed..?

Psst

Roman's cane's handle flew off into the distance, catching up to Ruby. Ruby turned around as she watched the cane's handle snatch onto her red cloak, dragging her back to Roman.

I wanted to help, but it wasn't anything dangerous to her life, no bullets or anything that can kill her, so she'll be fine, hopefully.

"I see you got some tricks up your sleeve," Roman commented, "Let me make this clear…" Roman paused, "We're not through yet."

Boom

Roman looked up, watching the dust fly up at an area further from us, "If you two can go take care of that, that'd be great," Roman asked the two goons, "I'm kind of in the middle of something." Roman said right after.

The two goons nodded before heading to the site.

Boom. Rumble. Rumble.

"What's going on here?" Roman shouted.

Suddenly, Ruby lunged towards Roman, latching onto his back and covering his eyes.

"Gah, get off of me." Roman yelled.

Ruby jumped off, running towards the direction she was heading off in before. A moment later, Roman and his goons started shooting at Ruby. The sound reverberated through the underground cave, this abandoned underground city.

Four men appeared in front of Ruby. Ruby halted in her tracks, unsure of what to do. The four men pulled up their weapons, aiming and readying to fire. Ruby hid behind her arms, expecting to get shot but it was the exact opposite.

Boom

"Ruby!" A yellow-haired girl shouted, her name is Yang.

"Yang!" Ruby shouted, lunging at her and then wrapping her arms around her and Yang replied with a hug too.

There were also others, a man with glasses and green messy hair and also who looks ready to explore the mysteries of the world, a researcher probably?

Then there was the rest of Ruby's team, but I don't really know them personally at all.

I'm all for family reunions and all, but It really isn't the time or place to do this here. Especially when we're about to- well, Roman is about to send a whole train full of dust toward the city of Vale. And also, it's kind of awkward, especially when you're there watching it even though you know none of them. Makes you feel left out, or just, uncomfortable maybe?

The train's horn blared, and I turned around realizing that Roman and his goons were already gone. The smell of dust kicked up into the air, the train released steam and was starting to pick up speed and soon leave.

Ring.

I grabbed the side of my head, "Get to your places, we are leaving now." Roman said with glee through the intercoms.

I don't really like noises like those, hurts a bit, but that's odd since I'm not myself anymore, well, my body specifically.

I've got to leave, I can't stay here anymore. I've only got a few minutes before that train reaches the city of Vale, and my warehouse so happens to be in the same city. Really, what is my luck? I groaned.

I headed towards the group, Ruby's team and the other person stood in a defensive position as I approached, their faces grimaced at my appearance, grimaced of what I am, but not Ruby. She was hesitant at first, or maybe it was my vision, but I'm not sure if my sanity has been doing so well lately.

"What do you want, you came here to stop us again?" Yang asked, her fists balled up, ready to strike.

"No, no, don't worry, I really don't want to stop you guys," I said.

"What? But aren't you working with that criminal scum?" The white-haired girl asked, confusion on her face.

"Yea, but- it's complicated," I said.

"There's nothing complicated about working with a criminal," Ruby said, "Why'd you do it, couldn't you have tried to change, I mean, I know we haven't know each other for that long but I know that promises are meant to be kept," Ruby said.

"I know, I know-" I scratched the back of my head, "Look, If you haven't realized it yet, Roman is planning to blow up the city of Vale with that train."

"What?!" The green-haired man said, "That's impossible, the tracks lead to a dead end, I-it couldn't be, unless..." He said, placing a hand on his chin, pondering.

"That wasn't the case with Roman, the train is filled with fire dust and bombs that will detonate at any given time." I said.

They all gasped, "They're planning to blow up the city of Vale with a big mobile bomb!" Yang shouted.

The green-haired man intercepted, "No, with that amount of dust, it cannot possibly blow up the entirety of the city."

"We must make haste and stop this train before it reaches the city." He said, holding a finger out and standing in a position a hero would do, it was an odd sight but not unwelcome.

"Yea, you guys have to stop that train, thousands will be killed if you don't." I said, I pinched a portal off my hand.

They all raised their guard at my movement, "Don't worry, I'm not planning to hurt or send any of you guys anywhere, well, I do plan on sending you guys somewhere," I said.

"I hope it's not a highway this time, that wasn't fun dodging all those cars." Yang commented.

"Ah, sorry about that, I really tried putting you somewhere safe, I can control my teleportation a bit better now if that makes you feel any happier," I said before continuing, "But I'm going to send you guys on top of the train, you'll see compartments at the center top of the train, open those and you'll find the bombs, disarm them if you can." I said.

"Why are you helping us?" The black-haired girl asked, skepticism in her voice.

"I already said why, it's because thousands will die if you don't, I would love to help you guys stop that train, but if I do Roman will most likely want me dead along with my warehouse he gave me." I said.

The black-haired girl scrunched her eyes, "I've already been at plenty of warehouses to know what they have in them, what are you planning after this?"

"Blake, now's not the time to make enemies, we've got to stop that train before it blows up the city." Ruby said, her voice a bit stern.

The black-haired girl, now named Blake, gave me one last look before relaxing and nodding, "Yea, you're right."

"Are we really going to work with a criminal?" The white-haired girl asked.

The others groaned except for the green-haired man.

"What?" The white-haired girl asked, genuinely confused.

"Weiss-cream, Weiss-cream, we and that 'criminal' chatted for a tad too long and because of that we have no way to catch up to that train now, except for his portals," Yang said it like she was talking to a child.

"Well, that wouldn't have been the case if you guys didn't decide to chat with that criminal." Weiss said, feeling a little insulted by the way Yang was treating her.

"Okay, girls, now's not the time to argue, we must leave now and stop that train." The green-haired man said.

"That's what I said." Ruby added.

I pinched the portal off my skin, placing it in front of them, "This will drop you on top one of the cargo coupled to the train, be careful not to fall off, alright?" I said.

Weiss raised an eyebrow at what I said, "I was not expecting a criminal to be worried for our well-being, what else, Zwei being able to take down a mech?" Weiss said sarcastically.

Everyone ran into the portal except Ruby, "You're a good person, Spot, I'm not sure why you're teaming up with Roman, but I hope you get what you're after for." Ruby said. She neared the portal before speaking up again, "Thanks for helping us too," She said with a smile before frowning, "But it would've been nice if you stopped Roman from smacking me square in the face with his cane, it still stings," Ruby rubbed her face.

"Right, sorry about that, I would've, but, you know, that would've interfered with my relationship with Roman, don't want to make enemies with the person who owns the warehouse I'm working in." I said.

"Oh, yea, right," Ruby said, forgetting that I was working with the 'number one thief' in Vale.

"You coming Ruby? That train rigged with explosives and fire dust doesn't have all day, you know that, right?" Yang said, her head poking through the portal.

"Five more seconds, Yang." Ruby said. Yang grumbled as she shrugged her shoulders and headed back inside the portal.

"Anyway, thanks for helping us and telling us about those bombs," She said before continuing, "I should go now, cya," Ruby said as she sent an awkward wave as she entered my portal.

I waved back. Well, guess it's time I try starting up that collider...

I mean, I could always start it up later.

AN: So, The Spot really wasn't the spotlight in this chapter, huh? It's easy to tell that, though, he did gain more attention around the end. I wanted to explore other characters more than The Spot himself, that's what I also plan to do later on with Team RWBY. I do plan on making Spot change a few plot points later on, or maybe skip some that aren't that important. But overall, The Spot didn't change much in this part of RWBY, which I dislike, I love good fanfics, but ones that follow the plot line over and over gets tiring, feels stale.

AN2: I'm going to rant for a bit, but I dislike it when authors don't change the story at all and include a character in another story to just be there. I'm trying to stray from the plot of RWBY but not the major plot points, I'm amazed by fanfic authors who can change the entire plot lines of a story and make it into something of a great read. There's this one fanfic, a crossover between Percy Jackson and RWBY, a great read which has over 400k+ words, the author changed the whole plot line, it really is amazing that he can do that because if I tried it would detour me.

Anyway, that's really about it, cya till next time, I guess. Thanks for reading, I'm not sure when I'll upload another chapter but if I do have the time I'll try.
