Chapter I: Arrival on Earth

The Metropolis Plaza

Metropolis, Delaware

Screams were heard as the ship practically crashlanded into the Plaza. Brick, concrete and building went everywhere. People were scrambling for their lives trying to avoid the debris.

The Justice League Watchtower

Somewhere above the Earth

Bruce's eyes narrowed at the screen. "Brother Eye. Status report." The computer beeped and booped until a robotic voice answered. "Unknown alien ship has crashed into the Metropolis Plaza. No civilian casualties." Bruce then tapped his chin in thought and then hit a button on the console. "Superman! We have a situation in Metropolis. I need you to investigate. I will be right behind you." Clark's voice was then heard over the radio. "I'll be right there." Batman then stepped out of his chair and hurried over to the portal generator room. Hitting a few buttons, he then stood in the center of the transporter. The teleporter then teleported him to Metropolis.

Metropolis Plaza

Moments later

It didn't take long for Clark to get to the Plaza. When he did, he saw that the space pod had caused a impact into the middle of the plaza. Luckily, no one appeared to be hurt. The bystanders covered in dust gawked at him. He ignored them and continued to fly towards the space pod. Whatever that is…it wasn't made on Earth. I need to exercise caution.

He then heard what sounded like a grunt as it seemed like someone punch the door, trying to break it open. More grunts followed with more punches.

The door was finally punched off its hinges. Slowly, out flew a young woman who looked a couple of years older than him. She was young, about his age and had long blonde hair that was shoulder length. It wasn't the woman's hair that truly fascinated Clark though. It was the fact that this woman was wearing a similar outfit to his own. Kryptonian armor with the S…the family sign of his Kryptonian father…Jor-El.

The blonde woman then glared at him and got into a fighting stance. "You! Who are you? Where is Kal–El?"

Clark just blinked at her confused. He had never heard from his father's consciousness at the Fortress of Solitude about having any other Kryptonian family besided his late mother and father. "My name is Superman. This is the planet Earth." He then stared around nervously. Judging from the fact that she has the S on her chest…it looks like she is family. It isn't like the armor of the El family is something everybody wears. Time to gamble. "I'm not from this Earth though. I'm a Kryptonian. My birth name was Kal-El. I'm from Krypton."

Kara's eyes widened and she let out a gasp. "Oh my god! Kal! It's you! I finally found you!" She then rushed to hug him, crying. "M…My ship was forced off course by an asteroid field when we were both set on track to Earth! I've been trying to find you for the past twenty-five years!"

Clark was now confused. Quickly, he flew them up in the air away from prying ears. "What do you mean you have been trying to find me? Who are you?"

Kara then broke the hug and awkwardly smiled. "Oh…sorry. I forget you probably don't remember me." She then smiled. "My name is Kara. Kara Zor-El. I'm your older cousin." She then blinked at him and let out a nervous laugh. "Wow…look at you. You've grown up so much. You were but an infant when I last saw you from the cockpit of my ship."

Clark just blinked at her confused. "I...have a cousin? How is that possible? I was never told of this."

Kara blinked at him. "Huh. I would have thought your father's consciousness would have told you I existed." She then hugged him again, sighing happily. "No matter. I'll explain. When you were sent off by your father…Jor El and Lara. I was sent off with you in tow to keep an eye on you and make sure you were safe and sound here on this…" She then stared at awe at the ground. "...strange planet. What is this place?"

Clark answered her. "This planet is called Earth. It's my home." The man then heard his comm-link go off.

It was Batman. Superman. I'm here at the scene. It seems to be an alien spacepod of some kind. It looks like someone or something broke out of it. Did you see anything? Over.

Clark panicked. Damn. If Bruce finds all this out so quickly…he is going to freak out. He then put his hands on Kara's shoulders. "Okay…Kara?"

She smiled at him. "Yes Kal?" Kal then sighed. "If you are going to stay here…you are going to need a new name…a new identity." She raised an eyebrow at him, confused. "I'm not sure I understand. Aren't names like Kal-El or Kara Zor-El common on this planet?"

Kal shook his head. "No. Unfortunately…they are cot." He then sighed in frustration. "We don't have much time." The idea then suddenly came to him and his eyes widened. "Wait! I've got it! My human cover name is Clark! Clark Kent! We'll just call you Sarah! It's a common Earth name for women! Sarah Kent! What do you think?"

Kara just blinked and spoke rather nervously. "Well…I suppose that will work. You're the expert on Earth culture anyway."

Kal smiled. "Good. You can still call me Kal in private…but please call me Clark in public."

Kara blinked but smiled. "Well okay then…Clark. I'll do my best."

Clark gave her a nod. "Okay. Now remember. You're my human cousin Sarah Kent. You've just returned from Kansas to visit. We'll work on the rest later."

Kara smiled. "You've got it Kal. Cover identity established."

Clark nodded with a sigh of relief. "Let's fly down." She smiled and nodded. The two then flew down slowly to the ground.

Kara then noticed that a lot of onlookers were giving her glares and uneasy looks. She gave all of them a nervous smile. "Um..sorry for the mess." They continued glaring as some of them just walked off without a word.

Kara chuckled nervously. "Tough crowd I guess."

Batman then walked up to the two Kryptonians with his usual stern look. "Superman! What is the meaning of this?" He took immediate note of the S emblem on the woman's chest. His eyes widened. Another Kryptonian?

Kal-El then turned to Bruce, gently putting a hand on his shoulder. "I'll explain everything later Batman. For now…let's clean this up."

Bruce just gave him a nod. "A sound observation."

Kara then nervously blabbed out. "I..I'll help!" The men then turned to her.

Bruce just nodded, eyeing her nervously. "Okay then.

Justice League Watchtower

Hours later

Kara stood nervously outside the door to the War Room.

The Kryptonian woman was shaking all over. Kal had told her to stand outside while he and Batman gathered the rest of the Justice League in order to discuss her predicament. I'm…nervous. I'm…so…so…nervous. She was nervously playing with her hands.

The doors then opened and Kal-El stood there smiling.

Kara then spoke, stuttering. "So what's the verdict Kal?"

Kal-El smiled at her. "I wanted you to explain it all yourself Kara."

Kara focused her eyes on the floor, lip trembling. "I..don't know. I...don't know your…friends."

Kal-El then frowned and put a hand on her shoulder. "I understand your apprehension." He then sighed and looked her in the eyes. "Listen…I admit this a shock for me. I honestly thought I was the last Kryptonian alive. I don't really know you too well but…" He smiled and placed a hand on her chest. "This symbol…shows me that you…that we ..are family. I've got your back…no matter what happens." Kara Zor-El blinked at him. She felt herself relax. She then hugged her cousin tightly, lightly smiling. Tears ran down her eyes. "Thanks cousin. I really appreciate you taking all this well. I admit…I was quite scared of what would happen if we ever reunited. It has been a long time."

Kal-El quickly hugged her back just as tightly. Tears slowly ran down his eyes. "Believe me Kara. I feel the same." He then put a hand on her shoulder. "Come on. Let's go have you meet the others." As the doors slid open,

Kara saw the others and immediately felt herself shiver.

Kal gently put a hand on her back. "It's okay Kara. These are my friends. You can trust them. Say hi."

Kara blinked at all of them.

The one woman in the group, clad in Amazonian battle armor. She was rather pretty and had long black hair. She smiled at her. Another woman. How refreshing!

Diana then stared at the S on Kara's chest. Seems she is also Kal's cousin. Another Kryptonian. How interesting.

Barry just stared in awe. "That S on your chest…does that mean…"

Kara smiled bashfully and nervously chuckled. She then turned to Kal for support. He gave her a sincere smile and nod. "Umm yeah…I'm Superman's…uh…" She then stopped. She didn't know if she could trust these strangers with Kal's actual Kryptonian name.

Batman then spoke up in a calm tone. "It's alright. We all know Kal's real name…and where he comes from. You're from the House of El…same as him correct?"

Kara blinked as if she were in shock. "How..did you…"

Barry just crossed his arms and chuckled. "Bruce is basically the technician and strategist of the League." He then took a look around and half-grinned at Bruce. "He's the reason we can afford this Watchtower. Perks of being a rich billionaire and all."

Bruce turned to Barry glaring. "Barry…" Barry just shrugged with a nervous grin. "What? It's the truth isn't it?"

Hal just stood from his seat and walked towards the Kryptonian woman with an outstretched hand. "Hal Jordan. Member of the Green Lantern Corps. Former Air Force veteran.. A pleasure to meet you Kara. Welcome to Earth."

Kara looked down at his hand and then at him. Smiling slightly, she gently shook his hand. "Kara Zor-El of Krypton. I was sent along with Kal in his ship in order to protect him. My ship went a bit off course. She nervously quipped. "I…just got here."

The dark-haired woman then stood up from her chair, crossed her arms and smirked. "Kal..you never told me you had a cousin."

Kal smirked back at her. "She just arrived this morning Diana. I'm as surprised as you are…believe me."

Diana then got up from her seat. "Indeed." She then offered Kara her hand. "Pleasure to meet you…Kara Zor-El. I'm Princess Diana…or you may call me Diana Prince…that's my cover name. I'm from a faraway island called Themyscira…a secluded place where there are only women. I came to the world of man to do one thing."

Kara's eyes widened at her. "What would that be?"

Diana smiled warmly at her and put a hand on her shoulder. "To temper man's aggression. To help man better himself."

Kara nodded with a smile. "Pleasure to meet you."

Diana smiled. "Indeed. It is nice to have a fellow woman on the team. We will talk soon."

The Flash then appeared in front of Kara with a smile on his face, quickly outstretching his hand. "Barry Allen. Call me the Flash though. Much more catchy."

Kara smiled nervously. "Pleasure to meet you…Flash."

Barry then rushed off, leaving a red and yellow blur behind him.

Kara's eyes widened as she stared after him. "He's…fast." Kal-El laughed. "Don't mind Barry. He's like that."

Aquaman then smiled, pushing his long golden hair down. Kara noticed he was wearing golden armor all over and carried a long trident in his right hand. He outstretched a hand to her. His tone was rather regal…like that of a king. "Arthur Curry….the current king of Atlantis. I rule Atlantis…a kingdom of subterranean people who live under the sea. I rule the Earth's oceans."

She shook it smiling. "Kara Zor-El of Krypton."

He smiled. "Pleasure." He then walked off without another word.

Martian Manhunter then walked up to her with a smile.

Kara quickly took note of the tall man's dark red irisless eyes and his dark green skin. He doesn't look human at all. I wonder what he is. The tall Martian then extended a hand to her. "J'onn J'onzz…I am a detective from Mars."

She nervously smiled and took his hand. "Pleasure."

He then smiled. "Welcome to the Justice League." He then walked off with a word.

Finally there was only Batman. The silent and dark-clothed man from Gotham City just glared at her. She nervously smiled at him. "Um..hi. Nice to meet you officially. I'm Kara...Kara Zor-El."

He continued to glare at her and turned to Kal-El. "This woman is really your cousin Kal? How are you not sure she isn't an impostor?"

Kara then glared at him. "Hey! How dare you! I'm the real deal! How dare you accuse me of being something I'm not!"

Kal-El sighed and put a hand on her shoulder. "Easy Kara. I have an an idea. Do you still know Kryptonian?"

Kara blinked at him surprised. "What? Of course I do! I never forgot it!"

Kal-El smiled. "Aaamae boora naaughh kilosh"

Kara immediately replied. "Aana seene baana Krypton."

Bruce just stared at both of them confused.

The man had traveled a long while in his years…yet the foreign tongue the two Kryptonians shared seemed to befuddle him completely. "What did she say? What is that language?"

Kal-El just smiled with glee. It wasn't everyday you got one on the Dark Knight. The World's Greatest Detective. "Apologies Bruce. You wouldn't understand it. It's Kryptonian but she understands...she is the real deal."

Bruce stared at him down. "You sure Kal?"

Kal-El nodded. "I am sure. There's only one other person in the room who can understand it and…you are looking at him. The rest of our civilization is dead."

Kara felt a bit of sadness hearing him say that last bit. It still seemed like yesterday when Jor-El and Lara had sent her and Kal off to Earth. She still remembered hearing the screams of her kind as Braniac attacked them all. She closed her eyes. The sounds of the planet's explosion could still be remembered. The face of her aunt Lara as she had tried to assure her she and Kal would be okay." She then put a fist to her chest as tears ran down her face.

Kal then put a hand on her shoulder. She turned to him and smiled. She may not have her people…but she still had her cousin. As long as we live…Krypton will live on…in our hearts.

Bruce nodded and cleared his throat. "Alright. We won't vote now but we will give it consideration." He then walked up to Kara extending a hand. "My apologies for the rudeness. Batman. Noted billionaire and philanthropist. Protector of Gotham City. Welcome to our planet."

Kara then smirked at him, shaking his hand. "A pleasure to meet you Batman. Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm sure I will greatly enjoy life here on…" She took a minute to look around "...this planet."

Bruce just nodded. "Good." He then walked off without another word."

Both Kal-El and Kara-El glanced after him in awe.

Kara blinked. "He really doesn't talk much does he?"

Kal-El chuckled. "Nope. Not at all. Bruce is a major ice cube." He then led her along by pushing her back. "Come. You must be starving. The food here on Earth is amazing! You will love it!"

Kara smiled warmly at him. "Well…if you say so!"

The two then walked out of the Watchtower together.
