Bustar Terminax was tracking his latest bounty of a small chestburster. He had just caught sight of the creature as it slithered into a bush about 20 yards away from him. It was an unusual white with cyan blue tiger striping. As he approached, the creature dashed out the other side as fast as its small body could. Bustar knew he had to be careful to not be spotted by a Yautja due to seeing a ship on the ground as he landed in a clearing in the forest. He knew this was a popular game preserve for a particular clan of Yautja, the Isolated Clan. They were well known for their technology for more snowy regions. He continued after the little thing but the sliding tracks stopped and small human prints started.
'A human child? What is a child doing on this planet?' He thought as he followed the prints which were heading toward the site of the Yautja ship. Bustar started running to catch up but by the time he broke through the brush, he saw a young child with long black hair running up to a seven foot tall male Yautja. He had a couple of nasty scars on his exposed midsection. The Yautja bent down and gently patted the child's hair. When Bustar was running toward them, the male roared and placed himself in front of the child. A dark-skinned human woman came running down the side ramp of the ship with an extended combi stick and told the child to go hide.
The child ran away from the fight and headed back into the forest. Her right foot slipped on wet foliage and she tumbled down a hole into a bright light. When she hit the ground again, she heard a snapping sound and felt a searing pain in her ankle. Large tears streamed down her cheeks as she screamed her lungs out. She quickly quieted when she heard rumbling in the distance that was coming closer.
"Macey, what's got you riled?" A rough voice called after a three foot tall, six foot long turtle like four legged creature. The dinosaur, Macey, did not respond to the man in the dirty lab coat following after him into the forest outside their home. Champagne McGregor followed Macey to the forest when the dinosaur raced out of the building. About half an hour later, he heard what sounded like a child crying. Macey continued toward the sound and as they rounded a tree, they saw a young girl huddled with tear stained cheeks. Her golden eyes widen at the sight of the dinosaur and man. Champagne knelt before the girl and saw that she was barefooted and her ankle was a dark black and blue.
"Did you break your ankle, little one?" The girl nodded and scrambled into Champagne's arms and wrapped her arms around his neck. He gently picked her up and carried her back to the base of the Sci-5. He led the way to the medical lab and wrapped the girl's ankle. "That should hold til Sound-Strike gets back from their mission." Champagne once again lifted the girl into his arms and headed to the lounge room and they both fell asleep on a sofa with Champagne holding the girl who was sprawled out on his chest. Macey settled himself between the sofa and the door and dozed off. The doctor was awoken a few hours later by someone poking his cheek. He tried slapping the finger away but they were persistent. His bleary eyes barely made out the shapes of his current boyfriend Benny Sharp, the overly optimistic but shady mech armor maker and their mutual friend, Vasilia, an armor maker from a fantasy world. Benny was leaning over the back of the sofa and was poking him. Vasilia was telling Benny to stop it.
"Hey there Champ. What's with the kid ya got there?" Benny asked when he saw that Champagne's eyes were opening.
"Benjamin, leave Dr. Mcgregor alone." Vasilia was pulling Benny away. The girl curled tighter into a ball trying to stay asleep. A whimper crossed her lips when she moved her injured ankle. Champagne slid into sitting up and gently placed her on the opposite side and covered her up under a blanket. He motioned the others to follow him.
"Macey and I found her alone in the forest. Her ankle was broken and she was barefooted. I have never seen her before. This place is pretty isolated, at least for this world."
"Could she have come from another dimension?" Benny asked overly loud.
"I don't know ya clown. Keep it down!" Champagne hissed trying to be quiet. Champagne peeked over his shoulder toward the sofa when the small head of the girl peered over the back. Benny caught sight of her eyes and quickly hurried over to her.
"Hey there cutie! Come to old Uncle Benny!"
She quickly ducked under Macey when he stood up and huddled under, trembling. Macey was ready to swing his club tail against Benny. Champagne ran over and pulled the girl from under Macey and told Macey to stand down. The girl curled into the nice man's embrace and away from the loud man.
"Benjamin! You leave the poor thing alone!" Vasilia was over to Champagne's side gently stroking the girl's back.
"Come on Silli. You know I don't mean any harm." Benny looked over at his friends. "We know that, but who knows what happened to this little one." Vasilia acknowledged. The girl slowly turned her head and shyly looked at Benny and then up at Champagne's face.
"He is a bit loud at times but he is a somewhat decent person." Benny just huffed and plopped down on the sofa. Champagne and Vasilia sat down next to him and tried getting the girl to talk. They learned that her name was Kagome and that she was with her parents when they were attacked by a stranger. She did not know where her parents were. When the Sci-5 returned to their base, Sound-Strike healed her ankle and she started to play with Macey. A month flew by in a blink of an eye. Kagome was outside close to dusk again playing with Macey when Vasilia called for her to come in and eat dinner. She was still getting use to all of the strange and unusual people that surrounded her.
After dinner the small group of Kagome, Champagne, Benny, Vasilia and Macey all sat around the lounge room by the large TV. They were trying to figure out what movie to watch when Kagome dug out a dvd case that had a very familiar mask on it.
"This one!" Kagome exclaimed and held it out to her Auntie Silli. Vasilia gently took it from her and read the title. "Alien vs Predator?" "Are you sure we should be seeing this one? It is really scary Kagome." Champagne told her. She adamantly nodded her head that this was the one she wanted to see.
Champagne just sighed and put the dvd into the player. Kagome eagerly leaned against Macey while cuddling the stuffed bear from Benny. At the part where the character Alexa Woods was climbing the Lho La Icefall in Nepal, Kagome teared up and started calling Mommy. Benny quickly grabbed her when she moved to get up. Champagne paused the movie and all three tried calming her down. Benny rocked her as she sniffled.
"Hey there cutie. There is no need to cry." Benny gently consoled Kagome. Champagne looked from the small face to the stilled picture of the TV. He could see similar characteristics between the two in the shape of the eyes and the texture of the hair. A shrill alarm echoed suddenly, startling everyone.
The group raced to the security center, and on one of the monitors it said "UNAUTHORIZED NEXUS ACCESS." The group saw a large muscular man approaching the base. They hurried through the building until they were near the front doors. Benny handed Kagome over to Champagne and walked into his mech armor that he left in this dimension for just such an occasion. Vasilia had her daggers out and stood beside Benny. Champagne had placed Kagome down and she huddled under Macey, who stood protectively over her. Champagne's mechanical arm had turned into a plasma cannon at the press of a button. A large explosion rocked the building, as the reinforced glass shattered. The man barely placed one foot into the place when Benny flew toward him and knocked him away back the way he came.
Bustar flew back several feet from the sudden momentum. When he landed, he saw that a mech suit was hovering in front of the building he saw the little child entering from earlier that evening. Bustar could see the girl hiding underneath a large turtle like dinosaur near a man that had a plasma cannon aimed at him. Bustar dashed forward and Benny dove but Bustar leapt above him and slammed him down into the ground by grabbing his foot and several cracks formed in the visor. Vasilia charged to help her friend but Bustar body slammed into her and threw her into a tree some feet away and almost knocked her out.
"Macey, protect Kagome." Champagne ordered. He fired several times but Bustar used a personal energy shield to block the shots. Bustar came closer and grabbed Champagne's arm and the grip started to compress the metal of his arm. A blur of white shot past Champagne's peripheral vision at Bustar. A feeling of the weight of a freight train had hit Bustar. When he had righted himself, he saw a white with cyan blue tiger striping, slightly over 6 foot tall Xenomorph drone standing in front of the group of people. Vasilia was being held up by Benny with her arm slung over his shoulder. Macey stood next to the Xeno, ready to swing his tail.
Champagne's eyes widened at the sight of a Xenomorph standing in front of him. He looked for Kagome but he did not see her. He could only hope that she was hiding somewhere. Bustar took out a little device that acted like a Yautja net gun. He threw it at the Xeno but it was struck down by an invisible object that slowly materialized into a combi stick. A loud thud was heard and a Yautja Warrior appeared next to the drone. Bustar recognized the Yautja Warrior as Scar. He fought against him several times before but couldn't really best him. Bustar knew he was outmatched and called upon his ship to pick him up. He swore to himself that he would be back for the Xeno.
The Yautja retrieved his combi stick and turned to the drone stroking its domed head. In a blink of the eye, the drone disappeared and in its place stood Kagome. The group of three friends were astonished by the turn of events. All were worrily watching on what the Yautja would do to the little girl. They were further confused when all the male did was pick her up and cradled her. Kagome's delighted scream of Daddy woke them out of their stupefied expressions.
"Is that what and who more specifically I think it is?" Benny asked Champagne. He just nodded. A dark- skinned human female was sprinting toward the Yautja and child. "Scar, you should have waited for me. Hey Sweetie, how's my baby girl?" Kagome quickly burrowed into her mother's embrace and nuzzled her shoulder. The Yautja, Scar, gently pushed his mate and child behind him when he noticed they were not alone. A menacing growl started to rumble from his chest when a small hand touched his side. He tilted his masked face toward his pup. "Daddy, they nice people. They helped me." Kagome explained. Alexa looked over at the group. "Thank you for looking after Kagome. We have been searching ever since we were separated." Champagne approached slowly and looked at Kagome. "How was she able to change like that? Is it a natural thing or did someone force her to be like that?" "I think we should head inside where it's more comfortable?" Benny suggested seeing the sleepy looking Kagome who was yawning and struggling to stay awake. Scar and Lex followed the group into the building down to the lounge area. Lex laid the now sleeping Kagome onto a couch and Macey carried over the dark brown stuffed bear. Once Kagome felt the soft fur of her teddy bear she curled herself into a ball and snuggled it. One of her hands felt for one of the side horns on top of Macey's head after he plopped himself close to her. Benny was replacing the damaged plates on Champagne's arm. Scar was helping Vasilia patch her injuries.
Lex returned to her mate's side and started to explain what happened and how Kagome came to be. She was working a job in Antarctica where she met Scar and how they took down a Queen Xenomorph. Benny was about to make a comment about the Multiverse but one very scary death glare from Champagne, he quickly shut his mouth. Lex continued on how she was captured by a Doctor Unice Versai. Once she found out that she was pregnant with Kagome, Doctor Versai started doing experiments on the unborn child. Lex pretended to be unconscious when Versai and another female came by her holding cell. The Doctor called her Eloise Ludum. Eloise was the one paying for the unborn child so she could have the ultimate creature for her death matches against The Sharp Gang. Lex knew she had to get out of there. The combi stick that the Elder Yautja had given her was sending an emergency distress signal to the Yautja who were enroute to rescue her with Scar at the helm. The Yautja quickly retrieved Lex and blew the research facility up. Eloise was furious at the loss. Scar quickly separated from his clan's main ship and went into hiding in order to protect his family. Once Kagome was born, her Xeno shifting started to manifest. She could change at will from a human to Xeno and back.
Champagne was even more furious with Versai. Benny calmed him down and then suggested that they all get some sleep, while taking turns keeping watch in case someone tried to break in. In the morning, they all started to repair the front door area. Even Kagome helped with using her Xeno form's strength to hold the new windows in place so that Benny and Champagne could weld them in. Scar and his family walked toward the cloaked ship near the edge of the cliff. The group followed to see them off.
"I'm going miss that kid." Benny sighed while waving at the little girl. She quickly ran over and tackled them into a hug. "Don't be afraid to visit when you're in our neck of the Multiverse." Champagne told her. "You will get a Kuznet original next time. If you visit, and you don't see me. Tell them that your Auntie Silli is waiting for you." Vasilia ordered of her. "See ya around kid." Benny saluted to her. Kagome waved to all of them as the ramp of the ship closed and left the atmosphere.
"You think we'll ever see them again?" Benny questioned. "Perhaps." Champagne replied.
