Naruto looks around dumbfounded.
"This is where super sage gramps talked to me the first time"
"We have failed, idiot."Naruto turns back to look at a dark form.
"Sasuke?"
"Even with the power of the six paths at our disposal we couldn't do it, kaguya was just too strong." sasuke says while showing his frustration.
"B-but what about the others? Kakashi-sensei, Sakura-chan, Hinata-chan, Shikamaru, the rest of our friends? was neji's sacrifice in vain then ? Did all the people that died worthless? Their sacrifices for nothing?" replies naruto while bashing his hands against the ground.
"No." A ripple starts forming into space to reveal an old man with the rinnegan.
"Gramps?"
"You both have been defeated yes, my mother is a goddess, tasking you to defeat her was perhaps too much. A man cannot defeat a god, but there is still hope, for a god can best another."
"What do you mean?" Asked Sasuke.
"It's rather simple, you need to become stronger, attain power that a mere mortal has no right to obtain." Replies the sage calmly.
"It's too late now, we are both dead. There is no one that can hope to match kaguya's power left alive." Says sasuke.
"There HAS to be a way, I REFUSE TO SIMPLY ACCEPT DEFEAT." Shouts Naruto with a fierce look of determinition.
"shut up naruto, I don't want you annoying me even in death." Replied Sasuke while leveling a glare to naruto.
"There is a way, although I did not want to use it. For if I do I will no longer have enough power to be attached to this realm, I will not be able to help my children's reincarnations again, but I'm afraid if I don't there won't be a realm to be attached to."
"what is it GRAMPS, I will do WHATEVER IT TAKES." Asked Naruto with fire burning in his eyes.
"I have enough power to send one of you, and only one back in time, with the knowledge that he has attained in this life. I always chose asura's reincarnations in the past, but now I believe I should leave this decision between both of you to decide."
Naruto looks at sasuke uneasily
"You should go." Says sasuke.
"Huh?"
"We both know you are the better option, don't make me regret this decision, dobe."
"We both know I won't, teme"
"Very well, I see you have chosen, the fate of the world rests upon your choulders.
Become a god, Uzumaki Naruto."
The sage slams his staff on the ground and then the room is engulfed in a bright white light.
