Mystery of Nightmare

Mystery one, the missing father
#
"Bonnie," Spring called as he peered into his older son's room, "ya here in buddy?"
A small purple rabbit jumped out from the closest wearing a monster mask while calling out "Boo" which made his father laugh. Bonnie pulled off the mask smiling at his father.
"I got you dad," he said.
"You sure did pal," said Spring, "now climb into bed."
Bonnie hopped into bed with his father walking behind him. He covered the boy's body under the blanket even his head. Bonnie called out as his father covered his head. Spring chuckled as the boy pulled the blankets off his head.
"Hey," said the boy looking up at his father.
"What," Spring replied smirking at his son.
Bonnie jumped up and tackled his father down onto the floor. The two started play wresting that they would do all the time before bed. Spring lifted his son in his arms while Bonnie hanged there upside down.
"Got ya kiddo," he said.
"Hey, no fair," Bonnie cried, "you're bigger than me."
"True."
He put the boy back onto the bed. He pulled the covered back over him. Bonnie smiled up at him as Spring covered him up.
"Dad, tell me the story again," he said.
"Aren't you tired of that story yet," Spring asked.
"Not the way you tell it," Bonnie replied, "please, dad."
"Alright," said Spring with a chuckle, "for you, kiddo."
"Well, as you know there is a legend of a monster that says to live in the forest just outside of town," Spring began, "and that monster known as…."
"Nightmare," Bonnie finished.
"That's right buddy," said Spring ruffling his head, "Nightmare hunts the forest at night looking for animatronics to eat. One night a group of three teen boys were out doing some night fishing; when they heard a noise."
Bonnie moved closer to his father as he continued his tale. Bonnie had heard the story many times, but he never gotten bored of it. Spring chuckled as he ruffled his son's head again before continued.
"They went to investigate the noises when they saw a pair red glowing eyes staring back at them. The three boys stood there as fear washed over them. The pair of eyes moved closer until the creature stepped into the moonlight…"
Bonnie leaned in closer, taking in every word of his father's story. Spring looked serious as he told this next part.
"What they saw was a large black bear with sharp knife-like teeth and claws. The creature approached the boys slowly like a predator stalking its prey. The three boys managed to move and made a run for it back to town. They could hear the monster giving chase s they ran. One of the boys manages to trap on a rock and falls."
He looked down at his son as the images flashed in his head. He remembered that day well.
"The monster had reached him and took the boy away."
"Then the monster took the boy back to his lair, right dad," said Bonnie smiling.
"Maybe, I have to told you this story too many times," said Spring.
"Come on, dad! I want to hear! Please continue."
"Okay, kiddo, I will; you were right about the monster taking the boy back to its lair. He dropped the boy onto the ground and went to prepare his meal. The boy had gotten up and made a line B for the exit but the creature wasn't a fool. It captured the boy again and dragged him back. The boy pleaded with the creature to let him go."
Bonnie stared at his father as he turned his head to the wall to stare at a poster of a guitarist that he and his son liked. Bonnie held his breath as the story continued.
"The boy kept pleading with the creature, he even said that he would do anything. Those words caught the monster's attention. The monster asked the boy if he meant his words. The boy could only nod in response. The monster decided that it would make a deal with the boy. He told the boy that he would let him go if he became the monster's servant. The boy not thinking about it agreed."
"What did the boy have to," Bonnie asked to get his father to continue with the story.
"The monster told the boy that he would have to hunt and kill animatronics that entered the forest and bring them to him. The boy feeling as though he could just make his getaway and not do that agreed. Soon the boy came home but never told anyone about his deal with the monster. When his friends asked how he got away. The boy told them that the creature had found something else that it wanted to eat. The boy had taken that chance to run."
"But it was a lie," said Bonnie.
"That's right, the boy didn't want to tell them the truth. That night, the boy went to sleep but woke up to a noise outside. He went to the window to see the monster standing there. The boy ducked down hoping the beast didn't see him but it did."
Bonnie watched as his father let out a sigh. Spring could remember next very clearly.
"The monster broke into his room and told the boy that he wasn't going to let him forget their deal. He took the boy and dragged into the forest. The monster stopped to a clearing an elderly animatronic tied to a tree. He dropped the boy and ordered him to kill the animatronic. He handed the boy a knife to do the job. The boy hesitated as he stared into the animatronic's eyes. He didn't want to become a murderer but if he didn't do it then the creature would kill him."
Spring looked down at his hand as he relived that moment. The first time he had taken a life and the beginning of his service to that monster. He still had regret for that night but at least he was able to have a family with the love of his life.
"The boy took the knife and sliced the animatronic's throat. The cut didn't do the trick and in a panic the boy began to stab them repeatedly as the fear of the creature overtook him. When he stopped the animatronic was in pieces. The monster was pleased by this and told the boy that this is the start of a beautiful relationship."
"Dad," said Bonnie as the story finished.
"Yeah, son?"
"You never said what happened to the boy after that. Did he manage to get away from the monster or is he still working with the monster?"
"Well, son, the boy grew up and started a family of his own but yes he still forced to service the monster."
"That's so sad, has he tried to find away to end their deal?"
"Well Bonnie, if the deal ends when the boy would end up as the monster's dinner."
Bonnie nodded. It wasn't a happy story but still for some reason he liked hearing it every night. Spring let out another sigh before forcing himself to smile as he ruffled his son's head.
"It's just a story buddy," he said, "there's no scary monster out there in the forest that kills and eats animatronics. Parents only tell that story to scare their kids into behaving like the boogeyman."
"I know dad."
Spring nodded as he gently set his son's down onto the pillow. He moved the covers under his chin.
"Get some sleep bud," he said, "tomorrow, we'll fishing. What do you think?"
"I would like that," said Bonnie smiling up at his father.
"Me too kiddo," said Spring.
Bonnie closed his eyes and fell asleep. Spring smiled as he left the room. He turned off the light and headed toward the stairs.
"Spring," a voice called.
Spring turned around to see his wife; Daisy standing in the doorway of their younger son's room.
"What's up flower," Spring asked using that pet name that he give her.
"Where are you going, it's late," she asked.
"I forgot to lock up the storage," he lied, "I'm going to do that right now and then I'll join you later."
She walked over and placed a kiss on his cheek. Spring smiled as she kissed him. Every time she kissed it was like the first time.
"You better," she said, "because I want a try with you."
Her seductive tone wasn't lost on him. He chuckled and assured her that he would be back soon. He made his way down the stairs. He walked to the sidling glass door that looked out into their backyard. He sighed as he opened the door.
He stepped out as the cool breeze hit his face. He walked toward the storage where he had a secret room hidden underground. He made sure that no one was watching him before he opened the secret door. He walked down the stairs leading into the room.
He reached the bottom step and turned on the light. An animatronic was tied up in a chair in the middle of the room. The animatronic looked up at him as he entered. Spring reached in his pocket and pulled out his pocketknife.
He walked toward the animatronic and cut off the gag. He walked toward the walk on the other side as the animatronic called for help. He grabbed a large knife that was on the shelf.
"No one can hear you," he replied without emotion.
"Why are you doing this," the animatronic asked, "you're a good animatronic, so why do this?"
"I have to," Spring replied coldly.
He walked toward him with the knife in hand swung the knife over his head before using it to slice through the animatronic's throat. Oil poured out from the wound. Spring set the knife down onto the table in front of him. He grabbed an axe and started to chop up the body. Once he was finished, he placed the pieces into a gym bag.
"I'm sorry," he whispered.
#
Spring dumped the body parts onto the ground in front of a cave. He waited until he heard heavy footsteps. Nightmare stepped out from the cave. He grinned at the sight before him.
"You did well, as usual," he said.
"Of course," said Spring, "as it's part of our agreement."
Nightmare nodded as he picked up a body part and held it to his mouth. Spring watched as he started eating. He made sure that Nightmare didn't notice him pulling a machete from the bag. He slowly walked toward him from behind.
This was the moment that he had been was waiting for. He would end it here and go back to his life with his family. He grabbed the hilt with both hands before holding it over his head. Nightmare swung his arm back slicing through his arm.
Spring fell onto the ground holding his arm where Nightmare's claws cut him. Nightmare stood up and turned to him.
"You think that you could get the jump on me when my back was turned. What a fool you are."
He grabbed Spring by the throat and held him up into the air. Spring had dropped the machete to the ground as he was picked up. Nightmare glared into his eyes with a low growl.
"It's a shame, you served me well, but I guess that has come to pass."
He grabbed Spring's face with his other hand. Spring screamed as his claws dug into his face. Nightmare shot forward and bit down onto his neck. Spring gaged as he pulled away taking apart of his fresh. Spring's body went limb as life left his body.
"It's a shame, too bad boy,"

Bonnie came downstairs that morning to find his mother walking back and forth in their living room with the police standing there talking with her.
"When was the last time you saw him ma'am," a monkey animatronic asked.
"Last night," his mother replied, "he went to lock up the shed and that's the last time I saw him."
"Did you check the shed," asked the second officer.
"I did and he wasn't there. I've searched the whole house but no sign of him."
"Does your husband have any enemies?"
"No, of course not," Daisy cried, "everyone loves Spring."
"Mom,"m and Bonnie called from the stairs.
She froze as she heard her older son. She looked up to see him standing there. She walked over to him and told him to go in the room right now.
"What's going on," Bonnie asked, "why are the police here? Where's dad?"
"Later, now go upstairs."
"Where's dad," Bonnie repeated.
"Excuse me, young man," said the second officer, "but what's your name, if you don't mind me asking."
"Bonnie," he said eyeing him, "did something happen to my dad?"
"That's what we are trying to figure out. Did your father tell you anything?"
"No,"
"When was the last time you talked to him?"
"Last night, he was telling me a story."
"What story?"
"A story about Nightmare."
"My husband is into the paranormal," Daisy explained, "he likes to tell our sons ghost stories every night."
"I see," said the officer.
He turned to partner; who nodded in response. He turned back to the family as he reached into his breast pocket.
"If you can think of anything else," he said pulling out a business card, "here's my card."
He handed it to Daisy before he walked to his partner. Bonnie watched as they spoke to each other before they left the room. Daisy closed the door behind them. Tears fell down her face. Bonnie watched as his mother leaned against the door.
"Mom," said Bonnie.
"Everything is going to fine hon," she said.
"Did something happen to dad?"
"I don't know kiddo, I just don't know."
#
Several weeks went by with no sign of Spring. Bonnie stood in front of a photo of his father. The town decided to have a service for him. Bonnie looked over at his little brother and mother sitting off to the side. His mother had been a wreck since his father disappeared. TB was still too young to understand what was happening.
"Bonnie," a voice called.
He turned around to see Chi; his crush and friend of his little brother. She walked toward him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Bonnie would be happy that she was here but right now; he didn't know how to feel.
"Are you okay," she asked, "do you need anything?"
"I'm fine," he replied trying to act tough.
"You don't have to act tough," she said, "it's okay to cry."
Bonnie fought back the tears that were swelling up inside of his chest. She rubbed his back to assure him that it was okay. She wrapped her arms around him pulling him closer. The tears came and he let them fall. She rubbed his back as the pain came out.
"It's okay," she said, "I know how much you love your father."
Daisy looked over at her eldest son; who was in the arms of a friend. She found it adorable but right now she was numb. The love of her life was gone.
"Daisy," said a voice.
She looked up to see the mayor Gold and his assistant the puppet standing there. She nodded to them. It wasn't a surprise that they would be here since they were Spring's childhood friends.
"Hey there, you two," she said.
"We're sorry about Spring," said the puppet, "we hope that you and the boys are doing well."
"We're managing," she replied.
"If you ever need anything," said Gold, "don't hesitate to ask,"
She nodded to them as she held her youngest to her chest. She heard a voice call her name. She looked to see the Pirate family walking toward them. She stood up and hugged her old friend: Merry.
"Are you okay," Merry asked, "do you need anything?"
"We're doing okay," Daisy replied, "thanks for coming."
"It's no problem," said Merry's husband; the general, "it's hard to believe that he's gone."
"I know."
The Pirate's boy; Foxy walked toward Bonnie and Chi; who were sitting on the couch together.
"Hey Bon," he said as he greeted his best friend.
"Hey Foxy," Bonnie replied as he looked up to see him, "thanks for coming."
"What are friend for," Foxy replied before turning to Chi, "could you give us a minute?"
She nodded as she stood up. Foxy and Bonnie watched as she went to find her older sister. Foxy sat down beside him and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Do you need anything," he asked.
"I'm good man," Bonnie replied, "I wish that I knew what happened to my dad."
"I get that bud, it can't be good not knowing."
"Hey Foxy."
"Yeah Bon?"
"You can stay at my place for a while if you want. My parents said that's okay."
"Thanks, but no thanks. My mom and brother need me."
"That sounds like you."
Chica and Freddy walked toward them. The two boys waved to them as they approached. Chica pulled Bonnie into a hug as Freddy patted his shoulder. Like Foxy; they were his best friends and were always there for him.
"Hey guys," said Bonnie as Chica pulled away.
"How are you," Freddy asked.
"I'm okay, how's your brother handing it," Bonnie replied.
"It's hard to tell," said Freddy, "I'm pretty sure that he's not okay mentally about losing his friend."
Chica could only nod. She didn't know what to say to make him feel better, of course none of them did. Bonnie looked over to see TB's friends were around him trying to comfort his little brother. He noticed that Chi was looking at his direction with worry in her eyes.
"What's going to happen now," Chica asked.
"I heard that the disappearances stopped around the same time that Spring disappeared," said Freddy.
"You're not seriously thinking that…"
Foxy stopped as he didn't want to upset Bonnie anymore than he already was. Freddy shook his head at him. Bonnie didn't really hear them as he was watching Chi; who had turned back to comfort TB. He did feel a little jealous of his brother getting her attention.
"Hey Bon," Foxy called snapping him back to reality.
"Yeah," Bonnie replied quickly.
"Has your mom told you about what you guys are going to now," Freddy asked.
"No, she hasn't."
"That's important now," Chica snapped, "she just lost her husband. She needs time to process this first."
Chica was right. Bonnie and his family had lost an important family member and now their life has changed forever. Bonnie looked over at the picture of his father.
Gold cleared his throat and the room fell silent. It was time for people to share stories about Spring.
"Who would like to go first," he asked as he scanned the room.
Daisy stood up and walked to the front. Gold gave her a hug before walking away to let her have the floor.
"I want to thank everyone for coming out here," she said, "as you all know that; Spring was my husband. I do have a lot of stories about him. Spring was the best animatronic that I ever met."
"That's hurts," the general called from the back in an attempt to lighten the mood.
Everyone laughed at his bad joke. Merry jabbed her husband in the ribs to get him to behave. Foxy buried his face in his hands from embarrassment.
"Well, it's true," said Daisy, "so, shut your mouth."
Her response got more laughter. Foxy groaned wishing that he wasn't the general's son at that moment.
"Spring always knew how to treat me. I remember the first time that we met."
Bonnie looked at his mother. He heard about their first meeting as they love retelling that story on their anniversary every year. TB and Bonnie would complain as their parents would be all lovely dovely but now he would give to see that again.
"He was riding up on his motorcycle doing doughnuts in the parking lot on the college campus. I was sitting under a tree with my best friend Merry. We were doing our homework when we heard him. I looked up and that's when I saw him; that's when I felt a connection. Spring had told his part as he was trying around to do another and that's when he saw me."
She wiped a tear away as the memory came back. Merry smiled at her as she continued.
"He fell off his motorcycle as according to him; he was captive by me. I remembered running to see if he was okay and that's when we started talking."
Everyone laughed when she mentioned that he fell off his bike. Spring was known as a skilled rider and the fact that he fell off when he met his wife was amusing. Daisy smiled as she recalled that moment. Gold and Puppet looked at each other as they remembered that moment well.
"That's where it all started. We started dating a few days after that. I remember when he prosed to me. It was the anniversary of the day we met and he took to this really nice Italian restaurant. He had the whole thing planned but he didn't plan the waiter falling on a spill that was on the floor from the table next to us."
Everyone sat there watching her as she spoke. She wiped another tear away.
"The waiter tripped and poured whin on my new dress that I was wearing that evening. I wasn't too happy about it. We ended up leaving before he had the chance to pop the question but we did go to the beach and I went into the water to clean my dress."
"You always were different," Merry called making everyone laugh.
"Tell that to your husband," Daisy teased back which made more laughter explode throughout the room, "anyways, we ended up going skinny dipping and had the time of our lives. Once we were dried and were in our clothes; he popped the question and I of course said yes."
She continued to wipe her eyes as she relived those moments. Everyone just stayed there watching.
"When our kids were born, he was like a kid in the candy store. He was there for me during both pregnancies. I loved watching with both boys. He really did adore them. I would give anything to see him play with them one last time."
She had begun to cry again. Merry ran up there and hugged her. Gold walked back up and suggested that Merry take her back to her seat. Merry nodded and guided Daisy away.
"Thank you, Daisy," he said, "we all know just how much Spring means to you. As myself; Spring was like a brother to me. The puppet and I were there when he met Daisy and we knew then that he had found the one. Spring always talked about how much he loves her. Daisy was his one and only true love."
Awes filled the room. Bonnie looked over at mother; who was still crying. Foxy placed a hand on his shoulder making him look at him.
"I think that Spring believed that his marriage to Daisy was his greatest achievement in life well other than his boys. Spring was a true family man, there wasn't a conservation that we had that didn't include his family. I remember watching him play with his boys on weekends. He was hunter and an outside man."
"We called a true rabbit," the pupped called out making everyone laugh including Daisy.
"That's right we;; did. Spring would take his sons out to go hunting or out camping. I remember when his oldest was five; the three of us were going camping like we use to do as kids. Bonnie; Spring's oldest wanted to come along and so we let him."
Bonnie barely remembered that camping trip. He had gone on a lot of camping trips with his dad.
"Spring had spent most of the trip teaching the boy how to fish. I could see that his son meant the world to him, in fact his whole family meant the world to him. I think there wasn't anything that made him proud other than his family."
Gold looked over at Bonnie then at TB; who were with their friends off to different sides of the room.
"Boys, I want to know that your father loves you and that I see him in you two."
The puppet nodded as he joined his friend. The two hugged before the puppet faced the crowd.
"I do agree with Gold," he said, "Spring was a good animatronic and I don't think that he never thought about his stop thinking about his family. Everyone in this room knows just how much that Spring talked about them. It's safe to say that they are his pride and joy."
Everyone nodded. Merry looked over at Daisy with a smile as she assured that Spring was smiling down on them. Bonnie stood up feeling the urge to go up there. Foxy and the others looked at him in surprise. Bonnie walked up to the front of the room.
Gold noticed him and smiled. The puppet took notice and held out his hand to the boy.
"Likes look Spring's oldest wants to say a few words," said Gold, "go ahead Bonnie."s
"Hi, um, I'm Bonnie," he said nervously.
Gold gave the boy a squeeze to encourage him to speak. Bonnie took a deep breath as he looked to the crowd making a fist. All eyes fell on the boy.
"My dad was the best dad," he said, "in fact, he was the best dad in the world. He would teach me things. I learned how to hunt, camp, and fish from him. I loved hanging out with my dad every day. I remember when I was eight; he got me my first Beebe gun. He took me out into our backyard and taught me how to shoot."
Daisy looked at her son as she smiled. Bonnie always looked up to his father. To him; Spring was his hero.
"I remember the night that he disappeared," Bonnie continued, "he told me a story. He always told us stories about the paranormal. My favorite was about the one where Nightmare made a deal with a boy."
"What story," Merry asked.
"I've never heard that before," said Mrs. Fox.
"It's a story that Spring made up for the boys," Daisy explained, "Spring loved the urban legends about Nightmare. He made up his story for the boys that quickly became Bonnie's favorite.'
"I never liked the stories about Nightmare," said TB, "they were too scary for me."
"He told me that story that night because I begged him to."
#
The ceremony was over and Bonnie found himself in his room. He kept looking over to his door. His father would come and play with him before bed but he knew that wouldn't happen anymore. The door opened and Daisy came into the room.
"You aren't in the closest again are you," she asked.
"No, mom," Bonnie replied as he popped from where he had been playing.
"It's time for bed."
Bonnie climbed into bed as his mother walked over to cover him up. She covered him up and placed a kiss onto his forehead. Bonnie looked up at her as she did so.
"I'm proud of you today," she said, "you were very brave."
"Mom," he said, "what's going to happen now?"
"I don't know baby, that's something we have to take one step at a time."
"Can yo fru tell me a story?"
"I'm not good at those stories that your dad tells you."
"No, not those stories, I mean a story about dad."
"I want to hear it too," said a voice from the door frame.
They looked to see TB standing there. Daisy didn't bother to scold him. She held out her arms and the boy hopped onto the bed. He sat in his mother's lap as she put her arms around him like she always does.
"A story about your dad, huh," she pondered, "I guess I can tell you the time that we graduated from college."
"What happened there," Bonnie asked.
"Your father was given a chance to work oversea."
"Did he," TB asked.
"He did for a bit," she replied, "but he came back after a few months. He said that it was for me but I think that he didn't care for it over there."c
"Mom," said Bonnie, "how did you know that dad was the one?"
"I've always known since the day we met. Your father and I had a special connection."
She stroked TB's head as she smiled remembering every moment that she shared with Spring. She looked down at her boys. Gold was right; she could see Spring in her boys every day.
"I think that's enough for now," she said, "it's time for bed."
Bonnie turned to his side and drifted off to sleep. Daisy stood up still holding her younger son. TB had fallen asleep in her arms. She turned to look at her oldest as she closed the door before taking her youngest to bed.

Mystery two, never forgotten
#
"Bonnie, TB, breakfast is ready," Daisy called from the bottom of the stairs.
Seventeen-year-old Bonnie made his way to the stairs as fifteen-year-old TB sidle down them. Daisy shook her head at her son. TB had inherited Spring's wild side while Bonnie inherited Spring's more practical side. Bonnie rolled his eyes at his younger brother. Daisy pushed TB into the kitchen to get him to hurry up.
"Hurry up and eat," she said, "you'll be late for school."
"It's not even that late," TB protested.
"With the way you get ready," Bonnie retorted, "meant as well be."
"Not cool bro," TB remarked.
"Just eat," Daisy ordered.
"Yes ma'am."
#
Bonnie stood in the parking lot of the school waiting for his friends. He saw Chica's pull up and could see Chica and her little sister Chi exited the vehicle. TB waved to Chi from on top of the stairs that led to the entrance of the school.
Bonnie couldn't help but stare at her as she walked toward the school while throwing her bag over her shoulder. Chica and her were talking as they approached.
"Hey girls," a voice called.
Freddy had pulled up with his younger brother Fred in the front seat. Chica walked over and placed a kiss on Freddy's cheek making him blush. Fred rolled his eyes as he exited the car. Foxy had just pulled in his jeep. Bonnie nodded to him as he got out of the jeep while throwing his bag over his shoulder.
"What's up Bon," he said as they high fived.
"Nothing much," Bonnie replied, "how the family?"
"Okay, I guess, oh yeah that's right. The old man wants to know if you join us this weekend. Hunting season is starting, so are you in?"
"Sure," Bonnie replied as they walked toward the stairs, "I could use a stress reliever."
"I hear ya."
They made their way up the stairs as they continued their conversation. Foxy opened the door to enter the building.
"Saw your mom on the news last night," he said.
"Well, she is a reporter, so it's kind of her job," Bonnie remarked, "I take it that means he saw the story on the couple that went missing."
"Yeah, there have been a lot of them lately."
Bonnie reached for his locker and opened it. A lot of animatronics were missing almost every night. He pulled out several textbooks that he wouldn't need right away from his bag and placed them into his locker.
"The old man has me running drills," Foxy complained, "I think that he's trying to kill me."
"What kind of drills?"
"Survive."
"Well, most of the disappearances happened in the forest."
He threw his bag over his shoulder as they headed toward their first period. Bonnie stepped into the room to see several students crowded together around a desk while whispering. They were probably talking about the couple that disappeared the other night.
He walked toward his desk and sat down with Foxy sitting down beside him. The rest of the class entered the room. Bonnie pulled out his English textbook and set it down onto his desk. Foxy leaned back in his chair looking at the board in front of them.
"Oh sweet," he said as he read the message on the board, "we got a sub today."
Bonnie rolled his eyes knowing that Foxy would try something with the sub. He noticed that some of the students were looking at their direction.
"What," he asked.
"Did you hear," the student asked.
"Hear what?"
"The couple that disappeared was the teacher and his wife."
"What seriously," said Foxy, "didn't they just get married last year?"
"Yeah, they were out camping when they disappeared," the student replied.
Bonnie didn't buy that as far as he knew that it was just a rumor. Whenever someone disappeared then people would say that it was someone who wasn't around for the day but most of the time it was false. Bonnie knew that the couple wasn't named, so the rumor probably started from there.
The door opened and the principal entered the room with the sub behind him. The whole room fell silent as they entered.
"Hello class," said the principal, "you know the rumors going around but your teacher. Well, I'm afraid this time they right true. I was informed this morning."
That was a surprise, the whole was filled with whispers as the rumors were confirmed. The principal cleared his throat causing the noise to die down.
"This is your new subtitle teacher Mr. Lyon," he said gesturing the lion animatronic standing beside him, "he'll be filling until we can find a replacement. Please show him the same respect that you gave to your last teacher."
He thanked the class before leaving the room. The sub nodded and tried to start the lesson, but the class wasn't listening as the whole was filled with chatter. Bonnie looked at the wall as Foxy had joined a conversation with two other students.
#
"So, it true," said Freddy as they were sitting on the stone bench for their free period.
"Yep, the principal confirmed it, right Bon," said Foxy.
"Right," Bonnie replied as he was reading a book on urban legends.
"It's hard to believe that he's gone," said Chica.
"Well, believe it Chica," said Foxy, "it would happen sooner or later."
"They still haven't found the bodies," Freddy asked.
Foxy could only shrug in response. Bonnie flipped the paper as he finished reading the page. Chica leaned against Freddy as she wrapped her arm around his waist. Freddy smiled and put his arm around her shoulders.
"Get a room you two," Foxy groaned.
"Jealous," Chica teased.
"You wish."
"Oh, you're just mad that you can't get the courage to ask Mangle out."
"I'm not afraid," Foxy hissed.
"Oh really, well then put your money where your mouth is," said Chica, "after school, you ask her out."
"Okay, I will."
"In front of the whole school."
"You just love watching me suffer."
"No, I just want to see you screw up."
"Well, I won't."
"Hey guys, let's not start something," said Freddy, "right Bonnie?"
Bonnie could only nod as he was too busy with his book. Freddy let out a sigh as he shook his head at his friends. Chica snuggled into Freddy making him chuckle. Foxy rolled his eyes at them. Freddy and Chica had been dating since middle school and it always annoyed Foxy.
Bonnie didn't really care as it was their business and didn't affect him that much. He closed his book and stood up. The others looked at his direction as he stood up. He picked up his bag and gestured to his watch. They nodded and gathered their belongings as it was about time for them to head to their next class.
Bonnie walked inside heading for the locker room as it was about time for gym class. He walked into the locker room to change into his uniform. He walked to his locker and unlocked it. He reached into the locker pulling out his uniform. He changed and put his regular clothes into the locker and closed the door.
He could hear other students whispering to themselves. He chose to ignore them and made him way to the gym. He walked into the gym to see several students crowded together in mid conversation. He rolled his eyes as he went where he would meet up with the rest of the class. He sat down waiting for class to start.
"Hey," said a voice, "you're Bonnie, right?"
He looked up to see two boys standing there. He nodded not really wanting to join the conversation.
"You're into the paranormal, right?"
"Yeah."
"Do you think that all these disappearances are caused by Nightmare?"
He could feel his heart stop at that mention of that name. The memory of his father flashed in his mind. He had several theories himself about the disappearances but was afraid to think that Nightmare was the cause.
"I…"
"Hey, you should leave him alone," said a voice.
Bonnie looked to see Chi standing there in her gym uniform. Bonnie had to say that she looked hot in her uniform. She stood glaring at the boys with her hands on her hips.
"Can't you tell, that you're making him uncomfortable," she said.
The boys just growled before they walked away. Bonnie felt a little grateful to her, but he didn't like anyone standing up for him. He was more than capable of doing that himself.
"Are you okay," she asked sitting down beside him.
"I'm fine, thanks for the help."
"No problem."
He looked at her smiling face which his heart almost jumped out of his chest. Chi always made him feel this way, to everyone else he seemed a bit stand offish but that didn't seem to be the case for Chi. She always greeted him with a smile and had no problem talking with him. Bonnie wouldn't say it aloud, but he loved her attention.
"I noticed that you were reading something during free period," she said, "what was it?"
"A book that use to belong to my dad," he replied, "it's a book urban legend."
Chi looked as though she regretted asking. She knew how much his father meant him and that it pained him sometimes to even mention him. Chi would try not to mention his father around him in order to prevent him from more pain.
"Oh, I see," she said, "is it good?"
"It's informative."
She nodded as she leaned onto her hands while staring up at the ceiling. Bonnie couldn't stop staring at her. His eyes began to wonder over her body. She had the looks and was most boy's ideal girl. He of course was one of them. He had seen many guys ask her out but she turned them down every time.
"Did you hear the rumors going around," she asked.
"Yeah," he replied looking down at his shoes as he tried not to stare at her which was hard.
"The wife worked with my aunt," she said, "she told me that they worked in two different departments."
"Did they know each other?"
"She saw her around but never really talked to her."
"Doesn't that normally how it goes?"
"Pretty much."
"Chi," a voice called.
They looked to see her best friend, Mangle waving her over. Chi sighed before turning back to him.
"I'll talk to you later," she said.
"Sure."
Bonnie watched her stand up and walk off. He couldn't help but watch her. She sat down beside Mangle and the two you started talking. Bonnie's attention was drawn to the whistle that was in front of him. The coach was blowing his whistle to get the class's attention.
"Now that everyone is here," he said, "let's start with a warmup."
The class groaned and he ordered them to stand. Bonnie stood up and did the warmups before they did what they were going to do for the day.
#
"You didn't have to do this Foxy," said Freddy.
"Oh, yes he does," said Chica, "remember, if you chicken out then you owe forty bucks."
"Hey, how come you can say that, but I can't" Foxy hissed.
"Because I'm a chicken, I can say it," Chica replied with a smirk, "now go on."
Bonnie stood there leaning against the wall with his book in his face. He came to the section that talked about Nightmare. He read about where the legends came from and how they were spread throughout the county. He looked up as he saw that Mangle was walking their way. He slammed the book shut making the others look at him. He gestured to Mangle heading toward them.
Foxy gulped as Chica gave him a smirk. Bonnie could see Chi walking beside her. Foxy took a step as he let out a breath. Freddy was trying to get him to relax. Bonnie watched with his arms crossed over his chest. The girls stopped with they noticed walking toward them.
Bonnie could see that Mangle's face had turned red. He smirked as he noticed this, knowing full well that she likes Foxy.
"Hey girls," said Foxy.
"Hey Foxy, what's up," said Chi with a smile.
"H-hi Foxy," said Mangle nervously.
"Um, Mangle, can I talk to you alone?"
A smile formed on Chi's face as he realized what Foxy wanted. She looked over at Mangle, who was blushing.
"Ah, sure."
They walked away off the side. Chica took that chance to call out to the whole school that Foxy was asking out Mangle. The whole school turned as she spoke. Freddy groaned as he covered his face with his hand. The whole school ran over toward the couple to see this.
F. oxy cursed Chica under his breath while Mangle seemed a little nervous by the crowd. Chi gave her older sister a look.
"What," Chica asked.
"You know what," Chi replied, "you'll embarrassing Mangle."
"Hey Foxy talked a big game," Chica replied.
"That doesn't mean that you have to embarrassed my best friend," Chi growled.
"Um, Mangle," said Foxy drawing everyone's attention, "I was wondering if you would go to the movies with me on Friday?"
"On Friday?"
"Y-yeah, what do you say?"
A smile crossed her face. Chica smirked as Chi rolled her eyes at her sister.
"I would love to."
"You will!"
"Of course, what time should we met?"
"After school."
"Okay, I'll see you then."
"Y-yeah, see you then."
Mangle talked to Chi smiling. Chi and her high fived before walking away. Bonnie leaned against a telephone pole with his arms crossed with a smile across his face. He heard a noise coming from the edge of the parking lot near the woods.
He looked to see a pair of red eyes peering out from in between the trees. He stood up straight as he looked at the pair of eyes. A low growled could be heard coming from their direction. He watched as they vanished from view.

Mystery three, the figure in the woods
#
Bonnie remained hidden in the deer stand with the rifle drawn. He kept his eye on the deer that was glazing nearby. The general and Foxy were sitting beside him. Bonnie held his breath before pulling the trigger. A bang could be heard as the gun went off.
Bonnie watched as the deer fell onto the ground as the bullet made a connection with its skull. He lowered the rifle and felt a hand pat his back.
"Nice shot boy," said the general, "you're a real marks man."
"Thanks," Bonnie replied.
They climbed down the stand and made their way toward the corpse. The general was the first to reach it and whistled. Bonnie had bagged a huge buck. Foxy knelt down to get a better look.
"Nice one, bud," he said.
"Thanks," Bonnie replied, "it was just a lucky shot."
"Lucky or not," said the general, "we got us enough to last for days."
Both the general and Foxy carried the corpse to the truck while Bonnie followed behind. He stopped as he heard a roar coming from behind him. He looked over his shoulder in the direction where he heard it. He told himself that it was bear that he was hearing. He looked around as he realized that the forest had gone quiet.
He knew that meant there was a predator nearby. He carefully and quietly walked toward the truck trying to make as little noise as possible. He froze as he heard a scream echo off the trees. He continued to walk slowly.
The general and Foxy were by the truck when they heard the scream. Bonnie stepped out between the trees walking toward the truck. He gave them a look to ask if they heard it. Foxy nodded as he looked past his shoulder.
"Get into the truck," the general whispered.
Both boys climbed into the truck as the general closed the trunk. He walked to the driver's side and looked around. Bonnie, who was sitting in the back seat looked out the window. He could see a large, massive figure standing between the trees with glowing red eyes. He moved closer to get a better look.
The figure was staring at the truck. Bonnie thought that it was looking directly at him. Bonnie moved back as he heard the driver's side door open. The general climbed into the truck and looked behind him so he could back up when he noticed Bonnie's face.
"You okay son," he asked.
Bonnie looked at him then back at the figure, but it was gone. He looked back at the general. He knew that he wouldn't believe him, what he thought that he saw.
"Yeah, I'm fine," he replied, "I just saw a huge bear is all."
The general nodded before turning around to start the car. Bonnie leaned back in his seat as he thought about that figure.
#
Bonnie sat in his room trying to do his best to draw what he saw on the hunting trip earlier that day. The general and Foxy had dropped him off before going home themselves. He cursed himself as it wasn't exactly what he saw. He grabbed the paper and crumbled it up into a ball. He threw it into the trash between his bed and desk.
He looked over to the book that he had been reading. He grabbed it and opened it to the page about Nightmare. He looked through the chapter until he saw a picture of the creature. He realized that it matched the figure that he saw.
Did I really just see Nightmare?
He leaned back into his chair as he stared at the photo. He flipped back to the beginning of the chapter and started reading.
"Nightmare is a mystery in of himself. No one has any idea where the myth came from, but experts believe that it's to starvation much like the wendigo. During the colder months, food would be hard to find causing some animatronics to eat each other."
He looked up to see the sun setting as he turned the page. He looked down at the page as he continued.
"Dr. William Moose, who has been studying the myth as said that the creature is a mixture of the wendigo and the boogeyman amount the locals. 'I remember hearing the legend as a child' he said, 'the myth itself as been around since the town itself or says the locals but the natives that lived here before us; have told me that the legend had been around as long as they were'. There was one question that Dr. Moose couldn't answer and that was why the creature is described as a black bear."
Bonnie looked at the picture on the page. He remembered the stories that his father use to tell him about Nightmare. He wondered if his father had seen it too.
"There are many theories of this fact. One researcher, who chooses to be kept anonymous has theorized that the reason for the black fur is tied to an individual's fear of the unknown or what lies in the dark."
"Bonnie, dinner," Daisy called.
"I'll be right there," he called back.
He looked down at the page. He marked his place and closed it. He walked down the stairs to find his family already there.
"How was your hunting trip," Daisy asked as he sat down.
"We had to cut it short as there was a predator in the area," he explained.
"So, you didn't get anything," TB asked.
"I shot a large buck," Bonnie added.
"That's probably what drew the predator to you," said Daisy before taking a bit of her mashed potatoes, "did you see what it was?"
"No," he lied, "but I did hear it though. I think that it was a bear."
"It's better that you got out of there," said Daisy, "you can't really take on a bear."
"Dad could," TB pointed out.
"Your father knew how to deal with them," she explained, "but, he never fought with them unless he had to."
Bonnie cut his pork and put it into his mouth. TB shivered a spoon full of peas into his mouth.
"Hey mom," said TB, "that teacher that disappeared, have you heard anything about it lately?"
"Sadly no," Daisy replied, "they still haven't found the bodies."
#
Bonnie woke up to the sound of something moving around in the backyard. He sat up as he looked out the window. He could see the same figure as before standing in the backyard. He noticed that the patio furniture was destroyed. The figure looked up at him with its red eyes. Bonnie felt uneasy as he stared at the creature.
The creature allow out a roar before making a line B toward the forest. Bonnie watched as it ran into the woods. He got out of bed and walked to his desk. He opened the drawer to grab the flashlight. He walked out of the room and crept downstairs.
He got to the sidling glass door. He slowly reached for the door handle as he could feel his heart racing. His fingers wrapped around the handle, and he pushed it open. He could feel his stomach drop as he realized that TB didn't lock it and that thing could've come into the house.
He looked around the yard before stepping outside. He walked toward the patio furniture and knelt down to get a better look. He could see scratch marks on the metal and teeth marks were on the wood. He moved the light toward the spot where he saw the figure standing a few minutes prior.
He could see large footprints in the dirt. He swept the light across the ground to see footprints coming and going through the dirt. He stood up and shined the light on the trees. He could see eyes shine between the trees. He backed to the door keeping the light on the spot.
Once he reached the door, he reached behind him to open it. He kept his eyes on the spot as he walked inside. He closed the door and locked it. The lights clicked on, startling him. He spun around to see his mother standing there in her blue bathrobe.
"Bonnie," she said, "I take it, you heard it too."
"Y-yeah," he replied, "there's an animal out there."
She walked to the door and saw that furniture was destroyed on the patio. She went to unlock the door when Bonnie put his hand on her wrist. She looked at him confused.
"Whatever did that is still out there," he told her, "I went out there earlier to see the damage and I caught something the light of my flashlight. It looked like eye shine."
"Right," she said, "thanks for telling me."
She walked over to the phone hanging on the wall and dialed the police. Bonnie looked out the door to see if he could see anything but because of the light of the kitchen it was hard to see anything.
"Hello, yes this is Daisy Bunny," he heard his mother say, "I'm calling because someone came onto our property and destroyed our patio future. Yes, my son went out there to look and he claims that they're still out there."
She gave them their address and asked if they could bring out animal control. Bonnie walked toward the window over the sink. He saw that the lock on the shed was broken in half and was on the ground.
"Mom," he called pointing to the lock.
Daisy looked to see the lock. She nodded as she continued to talk to the person on the phone.
"My son just noticed that our lock is broken too," she added, "I don't feel comfortable letting anyone go out there."
#
The police and animal control had arrived and searched the whole yard but other than what Bonnie found, there wasn't much. Photos were taken of the footprints and the markings on the destroyed furniture.
"You can't of anyone that would do this to you," the detective asked.
"No," said Daisy.
"What about Barky," TB asked.
"Barky?"
"He's a punk from school," Bonnie explained.
"He hates my older brother," TB explained.
"And why is that" the detective asked turning to Bonnie.
"He's a hateful person," Bonnie replied simply, "he won't be able to do this without help."
"True," said the detective, "there were only one set of footprints found but why do you say that he couldn't that?"
"He's strong but not that strong," Bonnie replied.
"Right, we'll look into it but for right now, I suggest that you keep your doors and windows lock."
The detective left to join the others searching the yard. Daisy let out a sigh as she looked over at her boys.
"What could do," she asked.
"I don't know," said Bonnie, "but it has to be pretty strong to do something like that."
"Maybe it's Nightmare," TB suggested.
"Nice one little bro," Bonnie replied trying to sound skeptical, "that's just a legend."
"I'm being serious," TB replied, "nothing else could do something like that."
"TB, that's enough," said Daisy, "Nightmare isn't real."
Bonnie wasn't so sure of that. He wanted to believe that it was all in his head but after just happened, now he wasn't so sure. He knew that no one would believe him though and so he decided not to say anything about it or until he had proof.
"Let's go to bed," said Daisy, "I'll call insurance in the morning."
"How can we sleep with everything that happened," TB whined.
"Enough," Daisy snapped, "I don't want to hear it."
Bonnie looked over his shoulder at the back yard that had been emptied as the police had left. Could anyone believe him? The question was why was it harassing them?

Mystery four, the shed
#
Bonnie sat in the living room watching TV. TB and Daisy were out to see how much it would be to get new patio furniture. He looked over to the sidling glass door. He turned off the TV and walked toward the door. He opened the door and walked toward the shed. Something had told him that there was something about the shed.
If the creature was trying to get in, then maybe there was inside. He examined the door to see that there were claw marks on the door handle. He pulled the door open and peered inside but there wasn't anything that stuck out to him.
He stepped inside looking around but nothing of interest. Was the creature just trying to cause more? He rubbed the back of his head as he scanned through the darkness. He reached up and turned on the light. Everything seemed to be fine.
"What's so important about this place," he asked himself
He took a step forward to get behind the lawn motor when he felt something under his foot give away. He looked down to see that part of the floor was giving away into itself. That wouldn't make sense, unless there is a secret passage. He knelt down and looked closer to find a secret door. He found it and carefully lifted it up. He peered down to see the top of the staircase.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. He turned on the flashlight and made his way down the stairs. It was pitch black down there. He continued to walk until he came to a light switch hanging above his head. He reached up and pulled creating light.
The room wasn't big but wasn't small either. He looked around as he turned off his flashlight. He could see a metal chair in the middle of the room. He walked toward it and noticed that there were black stains on the floor surrounding it. He knelt down to get a better look.
"Holy crap," he cried as he jumped to his feet.
What he found was oil! Dried oil! Someone was killed here! He looked around the room to find that were shelves lining the walls of the room. He could see something catching the light on one of the shelves. He walked over and pulled it out.
What he found horrified him. There in his hand was an old machete that had oil stains on the blade. Someone was using this to kill animatronics but who? He looked around but couldn't find anything else that could help give him more clues.
#
Daisy was surprised to learn that there was a room underneath their shed. The police had been called back to search the room. Bonnie had explained how he found the room.
"You didn't know that this place existed," the detective asked.
"No, of course not," Daisy replied, "and neither did my sons until now."
The detective looked at his partner before turning back to Daisy. Bonnie knew that they were suspects in this. He watched as the old machete was placed into an evidence bag. The detective placed a hand onto Bonnie's shoulder and led him off to the side.
"Tell me son," he said, "what made you the shed in the first place?"
"I thought that it was strange that whatever attacked our furniture last night, also tried to break into the shed," Bonnie explained.
The detective nodded impressed by his thought process. This kid had the makings of a good detective someday. The detective thanked him before walking off.
#
Bonnie thought that the police would arrest him but to his surprise they didn't. He sat on the patio itself looking at the shed then at the woods. Daisy came out and sat down beside him.
"What a weekend, huh," she said.
"Yeah," he replied as he took the drink that she handed him, "thanks.'
"I got a call from my boss," she said, "he told me to take a few days off. I guess they don't know what to do with all this."
"Are you going to get fired?"
"I don't know kiddo."
Bonnie cracked his drink and took a sip. Daisy drank her beer. She would let him drink on the weekends and if she was present. She figured after everything that happened, they both could use a drink. Bonnie set his drink down onto the patio beside him.
"It would be interesting if your job reported this," he said.
"I wouldn't put it past them," Daisy replied, "but I rather keep this just between us as a family."
Bonnie agreed with that. He didn't want to be bugged at school about this. The rumors about the couple disappearing was getting old and the last thing he wanted was to be the topic of another rumor. He knew that his classmates would see him like a hawk to see if he finds anything else.
"Mom, bro," TB called from inside, "you got to see this."
They stood up and made their way into the kitchen to see that he was watching TV. Their house appeared on screen as a reporter stood across the street having a report about the events over the weekend as of now. Bonnie went to the window in the living room that looked out to the street. He cursed under his breath as he saw the news van.
"It's live," he called, "they're outside right now!"
"You have got to be kidding me," Daisy growled.
Bonnie ran out the back door and grabbed the hose. He went toward the front when Daisy stopped him.
"Hold it Bonnie," she said.
"Mom, they're walking toward the house," TB called.
"You said that you wanted to keep this within the family," Bonnie hissed.
"Going to spray them won't do anyone any good," Daisy pointed out, "let me handle this."
The doorbell rang and she walked inside the house to answer the front door. Bonnie growled as he dropped the hose. He ran back into the house and stood next to his little brother as they watched their mother answer the door.
The reporter tried to get answers from her, but Daisy just stood there looking into the camera. Bonnie felt the urge to jump in but didn't.
"No comment," said Daisy then closed the door.
Mystery five, an angelic ally
#
Sure enough, the whole had learned about the hidden room under his shed. The rumors were already spreading to his annoyance. He didn't care to learn what those rumors were. Bonnie walked down the hall with eyes staring at him as he passed.
He got to his locker and opened it to put some stuff into his locker. He reached into his bag when he heard footsteps. He looked over his shoulder to see a group of students.
"Is it true," asked a boy.
"Is what true," Bonnie growled.
"That you were attacked by Nightmare," said a girl.
"No," Bonnie replied rolling his eyes, "an animal destroyed our patio furniture, that's all."
"But what about the murder room under your shed?"
Bonnie froze as the images of that room flashed into his mind. He didn't want to relive that moment as he was beginning to wonder if his father was hiding something from him.
"Hey," a voice cried out.
Bonnie looked to see Chi walking toward them. She didn't look too happy at the moment.
"Leave him alone," she snapped putting her hands on her hips, "how would you feel if you were being harassed with questions, huh? Go on shoo."
The group glared at her before walking away. Bonnie was grateful that Chi came to his aid. Chi let out a sigh as she crossed her arms over her chest before turning to Bonnie.
"You okay," she asked.
"Yeah, thanks for that," he replied rubbing the back of his head, "I take it that you saw it too, huh?"
"I did, but I'm not going to bug you about it," she answered, "I can understand that you're processing everything and I want to add any more stress to it."
"You're only one that seems to think that way."
"People are selfish," she retorted, "they don't think about others' feelings."
He would agree with that, but she has proven that there are people that do think of others. He closed his locker after putting the last of his things in there.
"Better get to class," he said, "I'll see you later?"
"Sure," she replied, "see you at gym."
He watched her walk away. He let out a sigh as he cursed himself for not doing anything more to thank her. He turned and walked to his first class. Foxy was sitting at his desk when he noticed Bonnie walk in. He walked over and sat down.
"Hey," he said.
"Hey," Foxy replied.
They didn't say anything else. Foxy wouldn't say anything to him about what he saw on the news. Mr. Lyon entered the room and ordered the class to quiet down.
"Now," he said, "I hope you all worked on your homework over the weekend. Let's review, shall we?"
The class wasn't paying attention as they were talking about what they saw on the news. Bonnie did his best to ignore them, but it was hard with everyone staring at him. He buried his face into his hands. Foxy patted his shoulder to comfort him the best he could.
"Hey, pay attention," Mr. Lyon roared, "eyes up here."
#
Bonnie didn't feel like hanging out with his friends during free period and so he was alone for the time. Neither of his friends had brought up what was on the news. They didn't force him to join them, feeling that he needed time to cool off.
He laid there on his back on the grass with the book in hand. He placed the book down as he stared up at the sky above him. He heard footsteps walking toward him.
"Can I join you," a voice asked.
He looked up to see Chi standing there. He patted the grass beside him. She lay down onto the grass in the opposite direction with their heads right next to each other.
"It's pretty," she said.
He knew that she was referring to the sky. He could only smile finding her presence soothing.
"Yeah, I guess so," he replied, "I guess that I haven't noticed."
"Probably, because, you're too busy thinking about bagging the largest buck that you can get," she teased.
They both laughed. She held up her hand and closed it like she was trying to capture the sun itself.
"I heard from Mangle," she said, "that her and Foxy are now officially a couple."
"Good to hear, they deserve each other."
"I know right, but he better treat her right or otherwise I'll beat him to a bop."
"I'll hold him down for you."
They laughed again. They looked into each other's eyes and at that moment, he had forgotten everything that had happened. The figure, the destroyed furniture and that awful room, it all faded away in that moment. There was just her and him, nothing else mattered. Chi was like an angel that had been sent down to help him.
He always had seen her as an angel even as kids; he thought of her as angelic. He looked up at the sky and put his arms behind his head. He wondered if this was how his parents felt when they were together. He looked over at her again as she was looking up at the sky again.
"Doesn't that look like a fish," she said pointing to a cloud.
He looked to see what she was looking at and saw that she was right. It looked like a fish alright. They spend the rest of the time cloud watching. They heard the bell ring and they sat up to gather their things. Bonnie stood up and held out his hand to her.
He noticed a blush cross her face as she took his hand. He helped her up to her feet. They walked toward the school not realizing that they were still holding hands. When they noticed, they were already in the building. Bonnie felt like this was right.
The hall went silent as they stared at him but he actually didn't care. Chi gave him strength that he never knew before. Everything that stressed him out was gone and it was just her. He expected her to pull away but she didn't. he wondered if she felt the same as he did.
#
Bonnie jumped back as a ball went at his head. Barky was really gunning for him this time. The bulldog threw another ball at his chest. Chi, who was on the same team as Bonnie; threw a ball that hit Barky in the side getting him not.
"What the hell," Barky barked, "what's your deal girl?!"
"I could ask you the same thing," Chi replied, "you do know that you two aren't the only ones playing, right?"
Barky growled as he made his way to the bench. Bonnie felt relieved to know that she had his back. He grabbed a ball and threw it at another student. The gym teachers stood there watching as the classes played toge
"Chi, heads up," Bonnie called as he threw a ball.
Chi jumped into the air using her cheerleading skills to use. She cartwheeled into the air as she spiked the ball. The ball hit a student in the chest. She jumped on her feet.
"Nice," said Bonnie as they high fived.
"Thanks," she replied.
He looked down at his hand as he felt the spark. The strength he felt had been increased by her touch.
Is this how love feels?
The bell rang pulling him out of his thoughts. Chi and the other girls made their way to their locker room. He sighed as he walked toward the locker room. He was a few feet from the door with Barky bumped his shoulder causing him to nearly fall over.
"Watch it bunny boy," Barky growled.
Bonnie watched as he entered the room not taking offense to his taunt. Barky could be an asshole if he wants, but Bonnie wasn't going to response and besides, there was nothing to gain from it.
#
"Did, you guys hear," Foxy asked as he sat down at their group's lunch table, "a hiker went missing."
"Yeah, I heard it," said Freddy, "the kid sitting next to me in math was looking at his phone and wouldn't shut up about it."
"It's been all over school," Chica explained, "since what fifth period?"
Bonnie sat at their table not really paying attention. He wasn't surprised that there was another disappearance as it happened a lot around the forest. He looked over at the table, where Chi was sitting with her friends. She was laughing at a joke that TB just told.
"Hey Bon, ya listening," Foxy called to him.
"What," Bonnie replied turning his head to him.
"No, you weren't," Foxy said annoyed, "what are you looking at over there?"
"Nothing," Bonnie said quickly.
"Were you checking out my sister," Chica asked in aggressive tone.
"No, I wasn't," Bonnie replied waving his hands in the air.
"Chica, leave him alone," said Freddy, "you know that he's been crushing on your sister for years now."
Chica glared at Bonnie before going back to her food. Bonnie let out a nervous laugh. Foxy covered his mouth as he laughed at Bonnie's face. Bonnie kicked him under the table causing him to cry out.
"Shut up," Bonnie snarled.
"Ya freakin' kick me," Foxy growled.
"Can we not," Freddy asked annoyed.
"Knowing those two," said an annoyed Chica, "not possible."
"Hey," a voice cried.
Bonnie turned around to see Barky, standing over Chi while holding up her book. Rage began to boil inside his chest. He held the book over his head as she was jumping trying to get it back. He no doubt was doing this just to watch her chest bounce.
"That asshole," Chica growled as she stood up from her chair, "I'll kill him."
Bonnie stood up without saying a word. He walked over and grabbed the book from his hand. Barky spun around, but only to get a knee to the gut. He fell onto his knees holding his gut. Bonnie handed Chi back her book while glaring down at Barky.
"Thanks," she said taking the book back.
"Damn you," Barky growled as he looked up at Bonnie.
"You deserve that," Bonnie replied coldly.
"Shut up you asshole," Barky roared as he launched himself at Bonnie with his fist going for his face.
Bonnie moved his head avoiding the punch. Barky went at him again but was stopped by a hand grabbing his wrist. Barky looked to see Mr. Lyon standing there.
"Mr. Bulldog," he said, "what are you doing? Trying to attack another student."
"He, jumped me," Barky retorted.
"You started it," Mangle snapped.
"Yeah," TB and Fred added.
"Come with me," said Mr. Lyon, "the both of you."
As he said that, he looked at Bonnie which told him that he was in trouble too. Chi tried to protest by saying that Bonnie was only trying to help her. Mr. Lyon shook his head and told the others to finish their lunch. He pulled Barky along and gestured for Bonnie to follow.

Mystery six, study of cryptozoology
#
Mr. Lyon brought the two boys to his office. He gestured for them both to sit. Barky protested by claiming that Bonnie attacked him first while Bonnie sat down.
"I told you to sit," said Mr. Lyon glaring him down.
Barky growled as he sat down. Bonnie rolled his eyes at him while trying to hold his tongue. Barky glared at him.
"I don't want to hear who started it," said Mr. Lyon, "you both are responsible in this and I hope that you are aware what will happen next."
"Detention," Bonnie replied.
"That's right, you two will spend your detention with me after school," Mr. Lyon replied.
"Are you fuckin' stupid," Barky barked, "why the hell would I do that?!"
"Mr. Bulldog," said Mr. Lyon glaring at him, "this is your fault just as it is Mr. Bunny's."
"What time," Bonnie asked.
"When the last bell rings," Mr. Lyon explained, "you two will meet me here and help me with some extra research that I've been doing."
"Research," Bonnie asked.
"Are you familiar with cryptozoology?"
"What the hell this that," Barky growled.
"Study of creatures that are thought to be fictional," Bonnie replied, "my father was interested into that stuff before he died."
"So, you are familiar with it, Mr. Bunny," said Mr. Lyon.
"My father has several books on the subject."
"I see."
"I don't get it," said Barky, "what's so special about that?"
"Well, the study has proven the existence of several species over the years, such as the panda or the giant squid."
"What's this help that you need," Bonnie asked.
"Well, the truth is that I'm a cryptozoologist and I'm looking into the stories on Nightmare and I happen to need a couple of assistance to help in my research."
"I'll pass," said Barky, "why the hell would I take part of something so stupid."
"What's wrong? Are you afraid that Nightmare is real," Bonnie said in a taunting tone.
"Shut up," Barky snarled, "who in their right would be willing to do that crap!"
Bonnie thought about that figure he saw during that hunting trip and the eyes that caught the shine of his flashlight in his own backyard. If he really did see Nightmare, then maybe he could learn more about the creature with Mr. Lyon's help.

"Bonnie," Chi called as she saw him exiting the school at the end of the day.
"Oh, hey Chi," he said when he saw her.
"Are you okay, you didn't get into any trouble did you," she asked.
"I'm fine," he replied, "but I'm gonna have to serve detention though."
"With Mr. Lyon?"
"Yeah, I'm supposed to meet in his office now, but I asked if I could talk to Foxy about taking TB home."
"I can ask him for you, if you want. I don't want to you get into any more trouble."
"It's fine, I got his permission for this."
"Hey Bon," Foxy called as he came out of the school.
"Hey Foxy," said Bonnie, "can I ask you for a favor?"
"Sure pal," said Foxy putting his around his shoulders, "what do ya need?"
"I got detention, and I was wondering if you could…"
"Sure," said Foxy, 'I'll take TB home for ya."
"Thanks man," said Bonnie as they bounded fist.
"No problem, dude," said Foxy, "I got ya. Well, I'll see ya later."
He walked to the parking lot waving to him as he walked. Bonnie waved back and turned to Chi.
"Aren't you going home," he asked.
"I got cheerleading practice," she replied.
I don't get to watch, oh man. She looks hot in that uniform too.
"Oh, I see, well I should get inside now."
"Right, I'll see you later?"
"Yeah, hey maybe I could give you a ride home, if that's okay with you."
He noticed that she was blushing as he asked. He rubbed the back of his head a Is he wondered why she was. Did he say something?
"I would like that," she replied, "I'll meet you at the parking lot by your motorcycle."
"Sure, I'll see you later."
He was about to turn around to head back inside when he felt her grab his wrist. He looked over his shoulder at her in confusion. She leaned forward and kissed his cheek catching him off guard. She pulled away blushing.
"I never got the chance to thank you from earlier."
"Ah, you're welcome," he replied in shock as he held his cheek where she kissed him.
She smiled and walked off waving goodbye. He waved as he stood there still holding his cheek. He watched her walk away before going inside. He walked into the office to see that it was just the teacher and no Barky. He knew that Barky would ditch as he normally does.
"Were you able to get a ride for your brother," Mr. Lyon asked.
"Yes sir," Bonnie replied, "Um, Barky won't show up. He normally ditches detention."
"You know this how?"
"My best friend gets detention a lot for his temper and he says that when Barky gets detention, he always ditches."
"I guess it can't be helped," said Mr. Lyon with a sigh, "anyway, let's get on with the research."
"Um, if you don't mind me asking. What exactly are you studying about Nightmare? I mean there hasn't been any evidence of his existence."
"Have you forgotten about your family's destroyed furniture? That's where I want to start."
"You think that was of course Nightmare," Bonnie asked annoyed.
He probably saw mom and was taken by her which is normal.
Mr. Lyon placed a file down onto the desk and opened it to the page that had the photo of the destroyed furniture. Bonnie groaned as he covered his face with his hand.
"You were the one that saw the eye shine, correct?"
"Are you kidding me," Bonnie growled, "you only gave me detention to talk about this?!"
"Well, no, you were starting a fight," Mr. Lyon replied.
"But that's part of his reason," said a voice.
Bonnie turned around to see a gray wolf and an alligator standing there leaning against the door frame.
"Rory," said the alligator titling his sunglasses to reveal his purple eyes, "you haven't been honest with the boy, have you."
"Where were you two," Mr. Lyon asked.
"Where did you think," the wolf replied, "searching the woods for evidence of the best."
"Who are you," Bonnie asked.
"Glad ya asked kid," said the alligator, "the name's Morty and this is Roxy. You could say that we're monster hunters."
"I've hired them for protection while I do my research," Mr. Lyon explained.
"So," said Roxy, "this is the kid?"
"That's right, Bonnie here has been the only one to report evidence of Nightmare," Mr. Lyon replied placing a hand on Bonnie's shoulder.
"We don't know if it was Nightmare," Bonnie replied annoyed, "I just said that it was an animal attack."
"You probably don't realize kid," said Roxy, "but we've been tracking Nightmare's trail to here."
"Isn't this where the myth started originally," Bonnie groaned.
"We learned that Nightmare had taken many victims over the year," said Mr. Lyon, "we want to see why that is as records have said that he normally is active during the warmer months but for some reason, the activity has increased.'
"What does that have to do with me," Bonnie asked.
"Well," said Morty, "it involves the attack on your property. We would like permission to check out the damage for ourselves."
"I'm not the one that you should ask," Bonnie replied, "you should take that up with my mother."
"Do you really except us to do that," Roxy asked, "we know that your mother is a reporter and we don't want to draw attention to ourselves."
Mr. Lyon cleared his throat before Bonnie could say anything. Morty sighed as he stepped into the room.
"So, what's the plan," he asked.
"Well, first we need to head to the site where the latest victim's belongings were discovered," said Mr. Lyon.
"What do you want me to do," Bonnie asked.
"Well, we hear that you're an outside man," said Roxy, "so, we want you to be our guide."
"You want me, a seventeen-year-old to be a guide."
"What's the problem," Morty asked, "I was your age when I killed my first monster."
"Yeah, a little troll," Roxy remarked.
Morty glared at her. Bonnie wasn't sure if this was a good idea. He knew that his mother would be furious if she found out.
"You're the only one that can helps us out here," said Morty turning back to him, "we'll teach you how to a kill a monster. So what do you say kid? Ya in?"
Bonnie sighed as he rubbed back of his neck head. It wasn't like he had a choice now.

Mystery seven, encountering the monster
#
Bonnie was wondering if he would be back in time to take Chi home or not. He led the group through the forest. Mr. Lyon was reading a map in his hands. Morty and Roxy were walking behind them with rifles in hand. Morty walked ahead to walk beside Bonnie.
"That's no ordinary rifle, is it," Bonnie asked.
"Nope," Morty replied, "heavily modified to take on anything we encounter. Have you ever shot a wendigo? Them suckers are tough."
"Don't you have to burn the heart to get rid of those?"
"You know your stuff kid, but yeah ya do."
"Why are you hunting monsters in the first place?"
"Because, both Roxy and I lose our town to a monster."
"A monster?"
"Yeah, Twisted Wolf."
"I've heard of him," said Bonnie, "he was an average animatronic that went on a rampage, but they said that it was a mystery why that was."
"You want to know why," Roxy asked, "it's because of Nightmare."
"Nightmare?"
"Yeah, Nightmare killed his whole family and devoured them," Morty explained, "he was enraged and attacked the beast, but the fight caused the town to be destroyed."
"But why was he blamed for it if it was Nightmare's doing?"
"Nightmare is a tricky bastard and slipped away leaving him to take the blame."
"He was arrested and killed," Roxy added, "Morty and I watched the whole thing."
Bonnie noticed the anger in her tone. He looked at Morty hoping to get an answer. Morty let out a sigh before looking over at Roxy.
"It's a long story," he said, "one we don't like talking about."
Bonnie decided to drop it as he could tell that it really bothered Roxy. He could relate as he felt the same when talked about his father's disappearance.
"We're here," Mr. Lyon called making them all stop.
"Morty," said Roxy.
"Got it," Morty replied as he reached into the bag that he had brought with him.
Bonnie watched as he pulled out several trail crams. He had seen his father use them a few weeks before hunting season would start. He walked to the nearest tree and placed it around the stump. Roxy scanned the woods in case something was watching them.
"Come with me kid," said Morty, "We'll going to set up the rest of these."
"I'll keep the Doc company," said Roxy.
Bonnie followed Morty through the forest looking for good spots to put the crams at. Bonnie pointed out a few good places for them. Morty had shown him how to set them up.
"I'm not much of a tech guy," he said, "that was more of an old friend of ours job."
"What happened to him," Bonnie asked.
"He died."
"How?"
"He was killed by the Moth man,"
"THE Moth man?!"
"Yeah, we were investigating a sighting of the creature when it got the jump on us."
"Have you ever killed a monster?"
"Well, we came close a few times, but you'll be surprised just how difficult it can be to kill just even one."
Both men stopped talking as they noticed that it was quiet all of the sudden. They looked at each other and nodded. They stood back-to-back as they looked around the forest.
"You know how to handle a gun," Morty asked.
"Yeah, I go hunting with my best friend and his father," Bonnie replied.
"Good, take this."
Bonnie felt him hand him a pistol. He took it in his hand and made sure that it was loaded. He looked around as he heard the sound of footsteps moving closer and they sounded big.
"Come out you bastard," Morty hissed.
Bonnie looked to the side to see a pair of red eyes glaring at them. He tapped Morty to get his attention. Morty looked to see the eyes. He turned to face them pointing his rifle at them.
"Come out here and face me like a man," he growled.
Bonnie could hear the growl that he heard that night when he found the patio furniture destroyed. The owner of the eyes stepped out revealing itself. Bonnie jumped back as he was staring at a large black bear with knife-like teeth and claws.
"Nightmare," he gasped.
"Finally," said Morty with a smirk, "time to get some payback."
Nightmare let out a roar that caused the wind to blow in their faces. Bonnie shielded his face from the wind. The creature launched forward causing them to move back. Morty started shooting at the beast as it came at them.
Bonnie got down on one knee and aimed his pistol. He shot once and watched as the bullet hit the beast in the kneecap. Nightmare roared out of anger before charging him.
"Move kid," Morty shouted.
Bonnie dove to the side. Nightmare roared again and turned so fast that Bonnie didn't see him coming. He cried out as the creature slammed into his stomach. He fell onto the ground and accidentally shot the pistol in his hand.
Nightmare roared as the bullet pierced the joint that connected his arm to his elbow. He hissed before slicing Bonnie's arm. Bonnie cried as he began to bleed out oil. Nightmare smelled the oil and then looked down at the boy.
"You're his son."
Bonnie was surprised that he could talk. Nightmare began to laugh. He grabbed Bonnie's arm and started to pull him, but he forgot about Morty. The alligator jumped into the air and stabbed him in the back making him drop the boy.
"Get up kid," Morty ordered.
Bonnie jumped to his feet and turned to start shooting the creature with his good arm. Morty was impressed by the boy's courage. Most kids his age would start running or freeze up from fear. Bonnie stopped shooting when he heard the clicking.
Nightmare screamed as he swung his at them. Both men leapt back avoiding the attack. Bonnie looked around until he saw a large rock that was big enough to do major damage. He leapt toward it while Morty kept Nightmare busy.
He picked up the rock and threw it at the creature's head. Nightmare was too busy with Morty that he didn't notice the large rock coming for him. The rock hit the side of his head. Nightmare let out another roar as he slashed Morty's chest.
Morty cried out as he dropped his knife. Bonnie picked it up and ran at the beast piercing the left leg. Nightmare smacked him away causing him to fall to the ground with a cut on his cheek.
Nightmare turned to face the boy. Morty grabbed his rifle and aimed it at the creature's head.
"You're just him."
"Who," Bonnie demanded.
"Your father."
Bonnie's body froze. Nightmare mentioned his father. Did that mean that Nightmare was….?
"You killed him didn't you," he growled as rage burned inside of himself.
"Of course."
Bonnie sat there as his body froze. His father was killed by Nightmare. He could feel the anger swelling in his stomach.
"You….."
He stood up making a fist in the process. He ran toward the monster but stopped when he heard Morty's voice.
"Don't move kid," Morty shouted.
Bonnie looked to see that Morty's rifle had changed form and was aiming at Nightmare's chest. He pulled the trigger causing a bright light shooting out. Nightmare held up his arm to block the light from blinding him. He let out a roar as the beam hit his chest sending him flying back. Bonnie shielded his face from the light and the powerful gust of wind created by the blast.
He looked to see that Nightmare was gone but he could also see the damage that the beam left behind. Morty walked over and looked at the trail left behind.
"He's not dead," he said, "more or less injured."
"How could that not kill him," Bonnie asked.
"Trust me kid, it takes a lot more than that to kill a monster."
"Morty, what's going on over there," Roxy's voice came from a radio that was hooked to the belt on Morty's waist.
"We just encountered the target," Morty replied as he held the radio to his mouth, "had to shot it."
"Get back here and tell me everything."
"Got it."
He put the radio back on his belt before turning to Bonnie. He threw a towel at him.
"Wrap that around your arm, it should stop the bleeding," he said.
Bonnie did as he was told and tightly wrapped the towel around his forearm. He followed Morty back to the others. Roxy rolled her eyes at Morty's wound when she saw him.
"Nice scratch," she remarked, "did you get him?"
"I'm sure that I got him in the chest, but no doubt; he'll recover," Morty explained.
Roxy looked over at Bonnie as Mr. Lyon was patting up his wounds. She was impressed by the boy, he managed to come back with only a few scratches as a rookie.
"How did the kid do," she asked.
"He's got some potential," Morty replied, "he didn't froze up once."
"We have found ourselves a new recruit."
"Looks like it."
#
"I'm sorry Bonnie," said Mr. Lyon, "I shouldn't have put you in danger like that."
"Well, you have nothing to worry about," said Morty, "the kid's a natural."
"I think you may have a career as a monster hunter, kid," said Roxy.
"You think so," Bonnie asked.
"Yep," said Morty, "when you graduate, don't hesitate to look us up."
"Don't encourage the boy," said Mr. Lyon, "there's no reason to get him mixed into this."
"Hey, you asked for his help," Roxy pointed out, "the only reason that you'll against it now is because you're afraid that his mother would have you fired."
"Sounds about right,' Morty added.
They had just reached the parking lot. Bonnie was too busy thinking about what happened. Nightmare is real and his father was killed by him. This was a lot to take in all at once.
"Bonnie," a voice cried.
They looked to see Chi running toward them.
"Who's the girl," Roxy asked.
"Oh crap," Bonnie cursed, "I forgot that I offered to give Chi a ride home."

Mystery eight, the origins of the beast
#
Chi ran over when she saw Bonnie. She stopped and gasped when she saw that he was hurt. She ran over and touched his arm and cheek that were injured.
"What happened are you okay," she asked.
"I'm fine Chi," Bonnie replied, "just got cut up a bit is all."
"Who are these people," she asked.
"Don't worry about them," he said quickly, "come on I'll take you home."
"But you're hurt, you should go to the hospital."
"they're just scratches, I'm fine."
"I think the kid's got a little girlfriend," said Morty amused.
"How sweet, to be young and in love," Roxy remarked.
They followed behind the young couple. Chi was trying to get Bonnie to go to the hospital.
"I'm fine really," Bonnie replied, "don't worry about me."
"You could end up getting your wounds infected if you don't get them treated," she pointed out.
"He's good," said Roxy patting her shoulder.
"Who are you," Chi asked.
"The name's Roxy, and this is Morty, my sidekick."
"Hey, I'm not your sidekick," Morty shouted before turning to Bonnie, "she's cute, you got good taste kid."
Bonnie's face turned red from embarrassment. Mr. Lyon cleared his throat to get everyone's attention.
"You should head home," he said to Bonnie, "you've been through a lot for one night."
"Can anyone tell me what happened," Chi asked.
"Later," Bonnie replied.
#
Bonnie had to stop on the side of the road as his arm was starting to hurt. Chi looked at him as he held his arm.
"You should really go to the hospital," she said.
"And tell them what," Bonnie asked, "I don't know if I believe it myself."
"Can tell me what happened to you."
"I can't, you won't believe me."
"Bonnie, you got hurt by something and is proof enough for me. Now what did this?"
"Well, I have to ask you to keep this between us first."
"I promise."
"Okay, it was Nightmare."
"What?"
"Take a look."
He unwrapped the bandage on his arm to reveal the claws marks on his arm. Chi looked to see that it couldn't be any creature that she knew that existence in the forest.
"I know, it's hard to believe but…"
"I believe."
"You do?"
"Yeah, I mean these are too big to be done by a normal bear, but how did you get away?"
"Morty, that alligator, I was with. He managed to send him off."
Chi helped him rewrap the bandage. She understood why he was so hesitant to go to the hospital now. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a pink handkerchief and used it to wipe his forehead.
"You're burning up," she said as she felt that he was warm.
"It's nothing."
"No, you need help, I understand that you don't want to be seen as crazy, but you need the hospital."
He tried to speak but was unable to. Chi pulled out her phone not caring that he would stop her. She needed to get him some help and fast. She held the phone up to her ear.
"Yes, I need an ambulance," she said, "my friend was attacked by an animal and now he's burning up."
#
Bonnie's fever had gone down now. Chi was relieved that he would be okay now. Roxy and Morty entered the room. They had heard about Bonnie being in the hospital. Chi looked at them as they came into the room. Mr. Lyon followed behind them with an eagle animatronic behind him.
Bonnie looked up at them. Chi sat there in a chair next to his bed holding his hand.
"Hey there kid," said Morty, "we brought someone that wanted to see you."
The eagle animatronic walked toward his bed. Bonnie stared up at him while squeezing Chi's hand.
"You must be the one that survived Nightmare."
"Who are you," Bonnie asked.
"He's a native," Mr. Lyon explained, "one that knows more about the stories about Nightmare."
"My name Wing," said the eagle, "I was told that you encountered the beast."
"What can you tell me, that I don't already know," Bonnie asked, "I've heard all of the stories."
"Perhaps, you would like to hear about the monster's origins."
"How do you know," Chi asked, "no one knows how he came to be. Both Bonnie and I grew up here and we know of the stories."
"The story that I'm talking about is only known by my people."
"Tell them," said Roxy, "you kids might want to listen."
"The creature started as a demon that haunted the dreams of the children of the tribe. One night a family asked for the help of a shaman, to save their child from the demon."
"Was he able to," Chi asked.
"Not the way you think," Wing replied, "he did a spell to send the demon back to the other world, but something went wrong. The demon had managed to appear into our world."
"So, what happened," Bonnie asked.
"The demon killed the shaman then the family, saving the child for last. Many warriors fought but were unsuccessful in defeating the demon. Out of desperation, the tribe's leader faced the demon on his own and had the tribe's medication man seal the demon away into a cave but like before something we wrong."
"So, did the spell do instead," Chi asked.
"The demon was sealed into the tribe's leader's body instead and killed everyone that was on the battlefield. The creature vanished after that. The chief's son declared that the tribe should leave their homeland as it wasn't safe."
"They left their home," said Bonnie, "but where did the name Nightmare come from? Why did they call him that?"
"The name that was used back then was lost but it was similar to Nightmare. It earned that name because how it started out as a demonic creature that haunted children's dreams."
"What an interesting story," said Mr. Lyon, "many cryptozoologists have been stumped on Nightmare's origins."
"Is that all you care about," Chi hissed, "because of you, Bonnie got hurt! I think that his safety is a bit more important than some stupid discovery."
"I like her," said Roxy, "she's got spirit."
"More like it's love," Morty remarked.
"Sir," said Bonnie looking at Wing, "have there ever been stories of Nightmare taking servants before?"
"I haven't heard of a story like that," Wing replied, "but, I am sure that it could be possible though."
The door slammed into the wall and Daisy stood there with TB right behind her. Bonnie flinched at the sight of his mother's face. She wasn't too happy. She stomped over and slapped Mr. Lyon across the face. TB gulped as he never seen his mother this angrily.
"What's the big idea," she roared.
"Hey, who's the hot rabbit," Morty whispered to Roxy.
"No idea," she whispered back.
"Mrs. Bunny," Mr. Lyon said as he was trying to explain.
"Shut up," Daisy growled, "you put my son in danger!'
"That's your mom," Morty asked in shock as he turned to Bonnie.
"Yeah," Bonnie replied, "that's my mom."
"You okay bro," TB asked as he ran toward his brother.
"I'm fine TB," Bonnie replied trying to smile at his brother.
"I got a half of mind to report you to the principal," Daisy shouted, "what kind of teacher puts a student in danger!"
"I can understand that you're upset but…"
"Oh, I'm furious!"
"Mom's really pissed," TB said nervously.
"Yeah," Bonnie replied just as nervous as his brother.
Daisy turned to Chi walked toward her. She took her hand and shook it.
"Thank you for letting me know dear," she said.
"No problem," Chi replied, "I'm just glad that he's safe."
"Isn't that sweet, she truly cares about you, kid," said Morty jabbing Bonnie's shoulder.
Bonnie held his arm as that was the one that got injured. Roxy smacked Morty in the back of the head while calling him an idiot. Daisy looked over at her older son. Bonnie knew that he was in trouble.
"You should've called me," she said, "the moment that your teacher took you to the forest."
"How bad is my punishment," Bonnie asked.
"Oh, you're not in trouble," she replied, "this one on your teacher but check next don't let anyone do this to you again."
"I promise," Bonnie replied smiling at her.
The doctor came running to the room. He stood in the door frame to catch his breath. Bonnie figures that he had been chasing after his mother and brother since they arrived.
"I'm sorry," he said, "but the patient needs his rest. I'm going have to you all to leave so he can rest."
"Fine," said Daisy, "I'll leave but I'm not done with you."
She pointed a finger at Mr. Lyon, who looked scared. Morty and Roxy said their goodbyes to Bonnie as they walked out with Wing behind them. Daisy and TB walked over with a defeated Mr. Lyon behind them. Chi was about to leave when Bonnie grabbed her wrist. She looked at him over her shoulder.
"You didn't tell her about…"
"No," she replied, "I told her that you were attacked by a bear."
"Thanks."
"I promised you that I would keep it between us and kind of person would I be if I went back on my word."
"You're a good friend."
"Yeah."
He noticed the sadness in her voice. Did she want to be more than friends, just like he does? He remembered that kiss that he received from her earlier. He pulled her closer. She looked at him confused. He leaned forward and kissed her on the beak.
Chi's body went stiff due to shock, but she relaxed as she returned the kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he wrapped his other arm around her waist. He could feel the pain shoot up his arm but right now that didn't matter.
They pulled away and stared into each other's eyes. A smile formed on his face as he could feel his strength just from one kiss. Chi returned the smile as felt stronger from the kiss as well.
"What was that for," she asked.
"For being so kind," he replied.
Her face turned red at his response. She jumped to her feet and said that she'll see him later before talking off. Bonnie smiled to himself. She looked so cute flustered like that.
Maybe that was a bit much.
#
Mystery nine, hearts become one
#
Chi leaned forward using the wall for support as she was catching breath while holding her chest. Her heart was racing in her chest. She had been in love with Bonnie since they were kids. She always imagined what it would be like to kiss him, and she finally got that chance.
Oh god, I can't believe it. I actually kissed him. Oh man, what does this mean? Does he like me too?!
"Hey there kid," said a voice from behind.
Chi turned around to see the gray wolf, whom she had learned was named Roxy. According to Bonnie, she was a monster hunter.
"Ms. Roxy," she said.
"Hey what's with this Ms. Roxy shit," Roxy remarked pointing Chi in the forehead.
Chi held her forehead confused. No one has ever done that to her before. Roxy chuckled at her face.
"You're cute kid," she said, "why don't we go get something to drink, my treat."
#
Chi had explained to Roxy why she was acting all flustered. Roxy took a sip of her soda that they got from a vending machine while sitting on a bench outside in the hospital's courtyard.
"I see," she said pulling her drink away from her mouth, "You've been in love with that kid, since you were kids."
"Bonnie has been so kind and caring toward others, but he also tends to keep to himself. I would give anything for him to open up to me. I know that he's still haunted by his father's disappearance, and I think that he believes that Nightmare is responsible for it."
"Do you believe him when he says that Nightmare attacked him," Roxy asked.
"I do, he isn't the type to lie about something like that," Chi replied as she stared at her drink, "He's always been logical and so I know that if he says that Nightmare attacks him then it's true."
"You have that much faith in him, huh?"
"It's more than that…it's love."
"Have you even talked to him about your feelings?"
"I haven't, the thing is a lot of guys for some reason ask me out at school and I'm afraid of what they might do to him, if they realize that I love him."
"I wouldn't worry about it; he isn't someone to run from something like that."
"I know but, I guess I'm afraid that he might not return my feelings. I can't just handle a rejection from him. I know if he doesn't return my feelings then it would destroy me. To be rejected by Bonnie would be the worst pain imaginable."
"You're young, you got your whole life a head of you."
"Yeah, but I've always been in love with him for years. When I was little, all I could ever think about was what he about me. I wondered if I was good enough for him."
"Look kid, I'm not the person that you should talk to about this. The person that you should be talking to is in that room recovery."
"I know," Chi replied covering her face with her hands, "it's just I'm confused now. He kissed me and I don't know if it was because I helped him or if he really likes me."
"Then go ask him."
"I can't just do that," Chi cried turning to look at Roxy.
Roxy sighed as she scratched the side of her head. Teenagers are so complicated. She was glad that she wasn't one now.
"Ya can't hide this from him forever," Roxy explained, "soon the truth will come out sooner or later. If keep sitting on this then it would be too late. You're how old?"
"Fifteen,"
"And how old is he?"
"Seventeen,"
"There you go, he'll graduate and go off to college. If I were you, then I would do it now while you still have a chance. I'm sure that you won't get that chance again."

Chi walked toward Bonnie's room. Her talk with Roxy helped her realize that she couldn't hold back her feelings anymore. She reached his room but stopped as she saw Foxy sitting in the chair. She wondered how he found out about Bonnie being in the hospital.
"A bear attack, huh," said Foxy, "that's crazy. I mean you're usually a bit more careful than that bud. It's hard to believe that you let that thing get the jump on you."
"Yeah, I know but there's a first time for everything," Bonnie replied with a smirk on his face.
"True," Foxy replied with a light laugh, "what did the doc say?"
"I'll have to take it easy with the arm and that it'll hurt for a while," Bonnie explained.
"So, no fighting," Foxy remarked, "you know that Barky would take advantage of that."
"I'm not worried," Bonnie replied crossing his arms, but ended up flinching due to the pain.
"That bad, huh," Foxy asked narrowing his eyes.
"I'll be fine, and besides, I still got my other arm and legs," Bonnie replied.
"That answer doesn't surprise me."
"Hey Foxy,"
"Yeah bud?"
"What's it like? To be in a relationship?"
Foxy looked at him for a moment. Foxy had forgotten that Bonnie was still single, giving how he seen him and Chi act toward each other. He grabbed an opened soda can on the table and took a sip.
"It's pretty awesome," he replied, "I've never realized how happy being in a relationship with Mangle would make me. Every day that I get to see her face is one that fills me with strength. I feel like I'm walkin' on air, ya know."
"Have you kissed her yet?"
"Yep, and let me tell ya, it's one heck of a feeling. I how should I describe it?"
He pondered for a moment. Bonnie and Chi found it amusing to watch him think. Foxy rarely thinks.
"I guess, I would describe it as like… feeling I can do anything. It's like her kiss gives me the strength to move on. When we kiss, I feel stronger. I guess I would say that its like my source of power."
"What are you an energy vampire," Bonnie said sarcastically.
"No, not like that, ya jackass," Foxy growled, "more like we both are fully charged!"
"That doesn't make any sense."
"Oh, forget it."
"Once , you have no clue."
"Hey shut up Bon!"
"Maybe, I'll ask Freddy, since he has more experience with something like this."
"Then why ask me in the first place," Foxy asked annoyed, "oh yeah, why did you ask me that?"
"Well, the truth is, I kissed Chi."
"Wait you actually kissed her?!"
"Yeah, I did."
"Chica is gonna kill you."
"You don't think that I'm not aware of that."
"How was it?"
"Great, but I think that I may have gone too far.
"So, what's the big deal? You've been crushing on her for years?"
Chi's breath caught in her throat. Bonnie was crushing on her?! He loves her too! She could feel joy flow through her body. She turned around and silently cheered before looking back at the boys.
"I did it without even telling her how I feel."
"Bon, you're an idiot," said Foxy slapping himself in the face.
"Isn't that usually my line," Bonnie replied annoyed.
"Ya kiss the girl without telling her first! That's the worst thing that you could do!"
"You don't need to shout."
"You could've scared her away! Ya dumbass!"
Bonnie looked like he just did something awful. He looked down at his sheets. Foxy growled as he called him an idiot. Bonnie never meant to scare her. He remembered how she looked after he kissed her. He placed his hand to his face.
"I'm a freakin' moron," he growled.
"You just realized that now," Foxy asked shaking his head.
"Hey, I just realized it! No need to rub it in!"
"Now, who's yelling."
"Shut up Foxy."
Chi reached for the door to push it open further than it already was. She wasn't going to let him think that she was scared. She was going in there and show him just how much she loves him. When a voice caused her jump into the air.
"Chi?"
She spun around to see her older sister: Chica and her boyfriend Freddy Fazbear standing there.
"What are you doing here," Chi asked.
"To see our friend," Freddy replied.
"What are you doing here," Chica asked narrowing her eyes while crossing her arms.
"Bonnie was going to take me home, but I ended up calling the ambulance," Chi explained.
"So, you were the one that called them," Freddy asked.
She nodded. Foxy opened the door looking annoyed. He was about to shout but stopped when he saw the others.
"Oh, hey captain," he said, "ya guys here to see Bon?"
"What do you think," Chica replied rolling her eyes at him, "can we come in?"
Foxy stepped aside to let them in. Bonnie looked to see his other friends entering the room along with Chi. He smiled as he waved his good hand at them.
"How are you feeling," Fredy asked.
"I'm fine," he replied, "it might take a while for the pain to go away."
"What were you thinking," Chica asked, "you know better than go into the forest with strangers."
"Would you believe that it was my detention," Bonnie said looking out the window.
"Are you kidding me," Chica growled, "the teacher got you in that situation."
"This is something that should be brought to the principal's attention," said Freddy, "that was pretty irresponsible of Mr. Lyon."
Chi agreed with Freddy, Bonnie shouldn't have been put in danger. Mrs. Bunny had every reason to be upset with him. Chi was too as Bonnie could've died. She couldn't imagine a life without him in it. She couldn't stand that thought alone.
"My mom, already chewed him out," Bonnie said, "I've never seen her so mad."
"Of course, she would," said Chica crossing her arms, "first, she lost her husband, and she could've lost her first-born son. I would be pissed too if I was her."
"I agree," said Freddy.
#
"I'm not surprised that they came to see me," said Bonnie as it was just him and Chi alone.
"They were worried about you," said Chi, "you're their friend, so they have every right to be worried."
"What about you," Bonnie asked, "are you worried about me because we're friends?"
"Actually…I…I want to be more than friends with you. I heard your conversation with Foxy…and I…"
"You heard that, huh?"
"Yes, I feel the same way that you do. I was going to tell you but the others came before I could."
"So, that's why, you decided to stay."
"Yes."
She noticed the smile on his face. He reached over and placed a hand on her shoulder. She looked at him as he leaned forward and placed a kiss on her beak. She wrapped her arms around his neck as she returned the kiss. They pulled away smiling at each other.
"I guess this means that we're dating now," she asked.
"Yeah, it does," he replied, "but I want to ask you something."
"What is it?"
"Would you be okay if I call you angel?"
"I would love that," she replied smiling.
Mystery ten, taste for oil

Nightmare was hiding in the bushes watching the group of campers that surrounded the campfire. He let out a low growl. He disappeared into the trees. One of the campers got up from the fire to use the restroom. Nightmare crept behind him through the shadows.
The animatronic reached a tree and went to do his business when Nightmare pounced knocking him onto the ground. The animatronic turned around to see the monster towering over him. He screamed as the beast roared before making the kill.
Nightmare sliced the animatronic's chest open and started eating him alive. The animatronic screamed as he was eaten alive. His friends heard the noise and ran to investigate. They found their friend already dead being customed by the beast.
"What the hell," they cried.
Nightmare stood up to his full height and turned to face them. They ran as fast as they could. Nightmare let out a roar and gave chase. He sliced one's head clean off his shoulders. He ran after the others letting a roar.
#
Bonnie and Chi were sitting on a stone bench that was just outside the basketball court in the park. Bonnie had his arm around her shoulders as she leaned against him. They were watching the school's basketball team practicing. They were just there to be alone just the two of them and partly to avoid Chica's wrath.
When she found out; she wanted to kill Bonnie. Chi had to get between them, telling her sister not to hurt her boyfriend. Freddy and Foxy had to hold her back and told Bonnie to make a run for it. The two took that chance to make an escape.
"It's pretty nice out," she said.
"Yeah," he replied.
"Help!"
They spun around to see two animatronics running out of the forest. The basketball team froze as they heard the cry for help. Bonnie jumped to his feet as he realized that they were hurt. Chi wasn't far behind him as he ran toward the panicked men.
"What happened," Bonnie asked as he reached them.
"N-Nightmare," one said as he fell onto his knees.
He grabbed Bonnie's wrist and looked up at him with panic in his eyes. Bonnie knew that whatever happened really scared them.
"Nightmare attacked us," he said, "he killed our friends!"
"Hey, what's going on here," asked a basketball player as they walked toward them.
"Call for an ambulance," Bonnie ordered, "they're hurt!"
#
Bonnie and Chi watched as the ambulance took the men away. The team had decided to call it a day. Bonnie didn't blame them, something like that was hard to recover or go back to what they were doing. Chi looked up at him as he stared into the woods.
"Bonnie, should we call Morty and Roxy," she asked.
"I already did," he replied, "I'm just making sure that nothing else comes out of that forest."
Chi nodded then turned as a vehicle pulled up into the parking lot. Roxy got out of the passenger seat as Morty got out of the driver's side. Chi waved them over. The two looked at each other and nodded before making their way over to the couple.
"We got your message," said Morty to Bonnie, "they said that it was Nightmare?"
"Yeah," Bonnie replied pointing the direction where the men came from, "they ran out from there."
"Good work kid," said Roxy, "Morty get the guns, we got some hunting to do."
Morty nodded and made his way to the trunk as Roxy turned to the couple.
"Tell me everything that happened," she said.
They explained how the two men came running out calling for help. She nodded as she listened. Morty came back with their rifles plus one extra. He handed one to Roxy while handing the other to Bonnie. Bonnie looked at him confused.
"You're coming with us," he said, "can use your outside skills to track the beast."
"Are you crazy," Chi cried out, "He's not going out there!"
"I wouldn't worry about your boyfriend, girl," said Morty, "he can handle himself."
Bonnie took the rifle from him and checked the amino. Chi grabbed his arm making him look at her.
"You can't go out there," she said, "you could get hurt again."
"I'll be fine angel," Bonnie assured her.
"No, I'm putting my foot down on this," she replied, "you aren't going out there. I don't want to lose you,"
Bonnie leaned forward and placed a kiss onto her beak shutting her up. He pulled away and smiled at her.
"I have to do this."
"Then, I'm going with you."
"No, it's too dangerous."
"Either both of us go or no one goes, that's final."
Roxy couldn't help but smirk. She liked the girl's spirit. She reached into her back pocket and handed a pistol to Chi.
"We only have three rifles," she explained, "this will have to do for now."
Chi nodded as she thanked her. Morty looked over at his partner. He knew that Roxy saw a little bit of herself in the girl. Bonnie glared at Roxy as he wasn't too happy that she was willing to bring his girlfriend along.
"That should be enough."
"Why would do that," Bonnie hissed, "Nightmare is too dangerous."
"A girl that is willing to throw herself into danger for her boyfriend, is a fighter," Roxy explained, "and if you aren't happy with that then keep her close."
"Hey," said Morty, "let's go and kick some monster ass already."
"Fine," Bonnie growled.
"It's the only way that I would let you go," Chi said, "I'm going to make sure that you don't get hurt."
Bonnie tried to argue but Roxy pushed him along as they were running daylight already. They walked through the forest holding their guns ready to shoot. Morty led the way while Roxy was at the rear. Bonnie noticed something just up ahead.
"Morty check out the trees on your right," he said.
Morty turned and saw what he was talking about. Trees were bent at an odd angle. He walked over to it to get a better look. Bonnie walked toward him while Roxy was looking for tracks while Chi scanned the trees around them.
"Definity, no normal animal could do this," said Morty examining the damage.
"We do have bears here," Bonnie explained, "but they wouldn't do this."
"Hey," Roxy called over, "I found some tracks."
The two you walked over to see the tracks that didn't match any animal native to the forest. Chi knelt down beside Bonnie. She watched as he placed his hand to the side of the footprint.
He looked over to see another set of tracks, but it was clear that it was the men that were running out of the forest. He knew that they were on the right track. Morty pondered as he examined the tracks. Roxy looked over to see a pair of eyes glaring at them.
"Heads up," she barked.
They shot up to see the eyes. Bonnie and Morty recognized them as belonging to Nightmare. They pointed their rifles at him. Nightmare growled as he stepped out from the shadows.
"Looks like we meet again, boy."
"He can talk," Chi gasped.
"Were you waiting for us," Bonnie asked keeping his rifle drawn on him.
"No, I was waiting for you."
He launched toward them. Roxy ordered for them to shoot. The four of them started shooting. Nightmare roared as he ran through the shower of bullets. He swung his claws at Bonnie's direction. Bonnie dove to the side just in time. Chi called out to him.
Nightmare growled as he walked toward the boy. Morty pulled out his knife and threw at his back. Nightmare roared as the knife pierced his back. Roxy pulled out a machete and ran toward him. She swung her weapon at him. Nightmare spun around and knocked it out of her hands as he back handed her.
"ROXY," Chi cried out.
Morty continued shooting. Nightmare roared before he jumped toward him. Morty cried out as he was knocked to the ground. Nightmare pierced through his shoulder causing him to drop his gun. Roxy was quick to get back to her feet. She ran toward them calling out her partner's name. She leapt up to deliver a strong kick but Nightmare was faster. He grabbed her ankle and slammed her onto the ground hard.
She let out a cry as he bended her ankle at an odd angle. Morty reached for another knife in his pouch that was hooked to his belt when Nightmare stomped onto his hand causing him to cry out. Chi ran over and did a spin kick in the air. Her kick had caught him off guard. He spun around to face the girl.
Bonnie shoots the rifle hitting him in the side. Nightmare roared out in pain as the bullet made contact. He turned to the boy, who was aiming the rifle at his head. Morty got to his feet and walked toward Roxy. He helped her reset her ankle so she could stand up.
Nightmare roared as he ran toward Bonnie again. The boy pulled the trigger, but he missed. Nightmare swung his arm forward slicing through the air. Bonnie jumped back to avoid the claws. He cried out as Nightmare slammed his shoulder into his chest.
"BONNIE!"
Chi ran to her boyfriend as he fell onto the ground. Nightmare grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up into the air. Bonnie tried to pull his fingers apart, but he wasn't able to.
"This takes me back. I remember your father trying to fight back in the same way. I wonder how he would feel to see his son struggling the same way he did."
Bonnie bared his teeth at him as he mentioned his father. He wasn't' going to let this bastard taunt him about his father's death. He kicked out hitting him in the chest. Nightmare could only smile as his kick wasn't strong enough to break free.
"You have more of a fight than your old man."
Roxy kicked him in the head making him drop the boy. Bonnie fell onto the ground and sat up coughing as he was gasping for air. Chi got to his side checking to see if he was okay.
"Are you okay," she asked.
"Yeah," he replied, "but he won't be."
He grabbed the rifle that he had dropped when Nightmare slammed into him. He stood up and held the rifle to his eye level. N
Nightmare had turned his attention to Morty and Roxy. Bonnie pulled the trigger aiming for his back.
"This is for my father, you bastard," he spat.
The bullet flew through the air but ended up hitting Nightmare's arm. Nightmare growled as hetmaurned his head to the boy. Morty had taken advantage of this and stabbed him in the kneecap. Nightmare kicked him back with the same leg that he had stabbed. Roxy was trying to hit him with her machete. He sliced through her stomach then kicked her in the gut. She went flew into a tree dropping her machete in the process. Morty got to his feet pulling out another knife from his pouch. He roared as he ran toward him.
Nightmare grabbed both sides of his head and began to twist it. Roxy leapt to her feet as she saw this. She pulled out a knife of her own and threw it at Nightmare's chest.
Bonnie ran toward them and slammed his shoulder into Nightmare's back. Nightmare roared as he dropped Morty, and the knife pierced into his chest. Thanks to the force from Bonnie slamming into him the knife went in deeper, but unfortunately it wasn't fatal.
Bonnie stood up and stood there watching. Nightmare got up and growled at him. He reached up and grabbed the knife that was in his chest. He threw it aside causing it to pin Roxy to a tree. Morty sat up holding his head. Nightmare took a step toward the boy.
The two started walking in a circle like two wild animals that were looking for a weak point of their opponent. Chi held up her pistol and pulled the trigger as Nightmare was focused on her boyfriend. The bullet hit his shoulder causing the beast to look at her. Bonnie took that chance and ran toward him stabbing his stomach with Roxy's machete that he had picked up from the ground.
Nightmare roared out in pain as the blade pierced him. He glared down at the boy and an image of Spring flashed in his head. This boy was so much like his father. Nightmare had gotten to know the man that had served him for years. He did wish that he kept him alive as Spring was a good servant, but he had forced his hand.
Nightmare grabbed Bonnie's wrist and made him look into his eyes. Bonnie growled at him. Nightmare opened his mouth as he was going to devour the boy. Chi jabbed her pistol into his mouth.
"Keep your claws off my boyfriend," she growled as she pulled the trigger.
The beast closed his mouth, crushing the bullet in between his teeth while Chi had managed to free Bonnie from his grasp. He growled at the couple. He walked toward them letting out a low growl. Bonnie held out an arm to prevent him from getting to Chi.
Nightmare tackled him into a tree. Chi ran after them. Bonnie cried out as the beast's claws pierced his shoulder.
"I hope you said your goodbyes to your little girlfriend."
Chi pushed him away from her boyfriend. Nightmare grabbed her by the wrist as he fell off a cliff. Bonnie cried out as he ran toward the cliff. He reached out his hand for Chi as she did the same. He was too late, and they vanished from view.
"CHI!"
Morty and Roxy walked toward him. Bonnie fell onto his hands and knees. He slammed his hands to the ground as tears fell down his face. Chi was gone and he would never see her smiling face again.

Mystery eleven, Roxy's past
#
Morty and Roxy had brought Bonnie to where they were meeting Wing and Mr. Lyon. They explained everything that happened. Bonnie sat there staring down at his hands. He had been a daze since they arrived. Mr. Lyon sighed sadly.
"You two shouldn't have brought the children along," he said, "now the girl is dead."
"Not actually," said Wing making Bonnie look up, "the beast wouldn't dead that easily and as for the girls; I'm sure that she's alive for now at least."
"Where is she," Bonnie asked which surprised them all as he hadn't spoken since what happened.
Bonnie stood up and grabbed Wing's wrist squeezing them tightly. Wing was surprised by the boy's strength.
"Where is she," Bonnie repeated, "where did he take her."
"Probably to his liar," Wing explained, "he'll take her there and then when the time is right; he'll eat her. If what you said is true then he's already feed and is full. That means we got a few hours to find her alive."
"Where is his liar?"
"I'm afraid, I don't know. My people have been looking for it for years."
Bonnie released him but only to punch the wall. He blamed himself for what happened. If he had fought hard then maybe Chi would be here standing beside him. He didn't know how he would tell Chica about her sister. He knew that Chica would kill him, and he would let her. He had failed to protect the girl he loved.
"Roxy," said Morty, "Ya thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Right with you Morty," said Roxy, "we'll go look for the girl and then maybe we can find the liar."
"I'll go too," said Bonnie, "it's my fault that she got into this."
"No," said Mr. Lyon, "it's too dangerous and besides your mother would kill me if I let you go."
"I don't care about that," Bonnie shouted, "Chi is with that monster, and it was because of me! I need to go to save her!"
Morty placed a hand on his shoulder. Bonnie looked at him.
"I get that you want to save your girl but you aren't in the right head space right now. We'll find the liar and then we'll come and get you."
Bonnie pushed his hand away from him. Morty let out a sigh as he looked over at Roxy. She nodded to him as to say to let the boy calm down. Bonnie punched the wall again. Bonnie walked away slamming the door behind him. Roxy walked toward the door and opened it. Morty didn't stop her. If anyone knew how the kid felt then it was her.

Bonnie entered an empty alleyway and kicked a trash can over as he cursed. Roxy stepped out from the building to see him standing there. She walked over and tapped his shoulder. Bonnie spun around glaring at her.
"Let's have a chat," she said, "follow me I'll get you a soda.
She walked toward the vending machine across the street. Bonnie followed her to the machine. Roxy put in two coins and let Bonnie choose what he wanted. He grabbed the bottle that came out. Roxy put in two more coins and got herself something to drink. She grabbed her drink and walked toward a wooden bench nearby. She sat down and patted the seat next to her. Bonnie sat down and opened his drink before taking a sip.
"I get that you've been through a lot these past few day," she said, "but you need to know that you aren't alone."
"What do you mean," he asked.
"You remembered that we told you about Twisted Wolf?"
"Yeah."
"Well, there's more to the story. You see there was more to the story. Twisted Wolf's real name was Fenrir, and he was my older brother."
Bonnie coughed up his drink at that statement. He wiped his chin as Roxy stared at him.
"He was a kind wolf and always helped out the town. I was always brother, but one night; Nightmare appeared and attacked the town. Many of us fought back including my brother…."
She took a sip of her drink before continuing on with the story. Bonnie watched her face as she told the story.
"We lost so many people in the fight. Fenrir wanted to keep fighting even though that we weren't a match for him. I remembered that he would keep fighting with Nightmare for many nights. I tried to beg him to stop but he never listened to me."
"How did he become Twisted Wolf," Bonnie asked.
"He wasn't going to stop any time soon when though he nearly died many times. He found a witch and asked if she could give him the strength to protect his people. The witch agreed to help him but if only he could bring her the creature's heart and of course he agreed."
She took another sip as she looked up to the sky. Bonnie looked down at his own drink.
"The pack was made, and he transformed. He had the power to fight back but there was something different about him. He wasn't my brother anymore. He was cruel and vicious to everyone even to me. I tried to tell him that he made a mistake, but he told me that it was for town. We argued all the time about it but he never listened."
"It turned him into a monster," Bonnie said still looking down at his drink before taking a sip.
Roxy could only nod as she was reliving that night. She closed her eyes as that day came to her as it had so many times before.
"He was changing into something that I didn't like. He decided that he would end the battle for good. He went to fight Nightmare alone, but of course that was a big mistake. You know the rest of the story. The two destroyed the town and took many lives. Nightmare vanished, but he wasn't done and went on a rampage destroying what was left. I had no choice and put him down."
Bonnie looked over at her from the corner of his eyes. She was looking down at her feet. He had heard that Twisted Wolf had killed so many people before he was put down. He couldn't imagine how it would have felt being the one that had to put down his own brother. Roxy wiped a tear from her eye.
"I understand what's it like to lose someone important to you," she said, "you lost your father and now the girl you love. I just want you to know that you aren't the one suffering."
"That's why, you've been looking for Nightmare. To get revenge for your brother."
"No, that's not it. I want to kill him to correct the mistake that was made in the past. I want finish what my brother started without using magic."
"I get that, I want to kill him for what he did to my father and to save my girlfriend. I couldn't save my father back then but I have a chance to save Chi and I won't let history repeat itself."
"We all have our reasons to be in this fight," said Roxy, "Morty lost his family that night and Wing wants to end the beast that his people brought into this world. You know what Rory wants to study the beast."
"So, why are you telling me this?"
"I want to you to know that we have our reasons. I wanted revenge for my brother, but I've realized that was his choice and now I just want to prevent what happened to my home to happen again."
Bonnie let out a sigh as he stood up. Roxy looked at him. He finished the last of the soda before throwing it into the trash can nearby. He stood there not looking at her as he thought about her story.
"Thanks for the soda," he said before walking away heading back to the building that they were in moments before.

Mystery twelve, the truth of the story
#
Bonnie had returned to his home later that day. TB was sitting on the couch with Fred playing a video game. Fred groaned as he lost again. TB couldn't help but laugh at his face. Fred looked up as he heard the door open. He saw Bonnie entering the room.
He jabbed TB in the side as he noticed the look on Bonnie's face. TB looked at him confused before looking where he was pointing. He smiled when he saw that his older brother was home.
"Hey bro," he said, "welcome back, how was your date?"
Bonnie didn't answer as he made his way toward the stairs. Both boys looked at each other as he walked up the stairs. He reached his room and pushed the door open. He walked over and fell onto his bed face first. He wrapped his arms around his pillow as he buried his face into it. Chi's face flashed in his mind.
How could he save her? He didn't know where to go. He couldn't imagine his life without her in it. He had lost his father and now his girlfriend was gone. He had finally gotten into a relationship with her and she was gone too quickly.
I'm sorry Chi.
He heard the door open but didn't look up. He felt someone onto his bed. He kept his face buried.
"You wanna talk," his mother asked, "I've noticed the look on your face when you walked through that door."
He didn't answer.
"I know it's hard but it's normal for a couple to go through a rough patch once in a while."
She had thought that he got into a fight with Chi already. Bonnie and her never fought before. He couldn't imagine arguing with her. He lifted himself up to look at her.
"If you had the chance to find dad," he said, "would you?"
"What's with that question," Daisy asked confused.
"Would you?"
"Of course, I would."
"What if you didn't know where to find him?"
"That wouldn't stop me…I would keep looking for him to the end of the world, but the only reason that I haven't is because I'm a mother and I need to focus on the children that I have made with my beloved husband."
She looked into his eyes curious to know why he was asking her this.
"If you didn't have us to worry about," Bonnie asked, "would you?"
"I would."
She placed a hand onto his shoulder. She didn't know what was going on, but she knew that something must have happened to Chi. She wanted to know more, but she knew her son better than that. He wouldn't tell her what was going on. She knew that he would ask her for some advice and then he would jump into action afterwards.
"I don't know what you've gotten yourself into," she said, "but I do know that you'll find the answer. You're a smart kid and you're just your father. I have faith in you, Bonnie. You are Spring's son after all."
She patted his shoulder before leaving the room. She stopped at the door and turned to face her son.
"You know, I see more of your father in you every day."
She walked off leaving him to think. He looked down at his feet. That didn't help but he had to ask. He didn't know what else to do. He cried out in frustration as he grabbed his pillow. He threw it into the shelf that was over his dresser.
The pillow hit several books that used to belong to his father. The books fell onto the floor. He watched them fall to the floor. He let out a sigh as he walked over to pick them up. He stopped when he noticed something sticking out from one of the books.
He picked up the book and opened it to the page where he saw the paper sticking out from. It was a folded piece of paper. He grabbed it and threw the book onto the bed. He unfolded the paper to see that it was letter address to him written in his father's writing. He sat down on the bed.
Dear Bonnie,
If you found this, it means that I'm dead. There is something I've been meaning to tell you. I'm writing this the night that I told you, your favorite story. I wish that I could've told you more, but I am about to tell you will change the way you think of me.
That boy in the story was me. I was the one that was forced to act as Nightmare's servant. I was afraid how you and the rest of our family would react, so I never told you. The reason that I'm telling you now is the fact that I'm ready to end this.
I know that I'm not strong enough to kill him, but I'm willing to try for our family. Bonnie, I won't make it back. I want you to take care of your mother and little brother. Don't make the same mistake that I did. I want you to be better than I was. Don't let my actions affect you. Live a good life, find yourself a good girl and treasure her like I have your mother. Son don't forget that I'm proud of you and hope that you become a good man in the future.
Take care of yourself, kiddo.
Love dad.
Bonnie couldn't believe it. The story that his father used to tell him was real and he was the boy in the story. He remembered Nightmare how talked about his father. He knew his father; in fact he was his servant. Was he trying to make him his servant since his father was gone? He stood up still holding the paper in hand.
He had to show this to the others. He knew that this could help them find Chi. Bonnie ran out of the house with his brother calling out to him. He jumped onto his motorcycle and started its engine.
"Bro, where are you going," TB asked from the door.
"To take care of something," was all he said before driving off.
#
Bonnie pulled up to Mr. Lyon's house or the house that he was renting. He parked his bike and climbed off the motorcycle. He walked to the door and knocked. The door opened and Wing was standing there.
"Hey son," he said, "I thought that you went home."
"Are the others here," Bonnie asked walking past him.
He found the others at the kitchen table with a map. They looked up when they heard his voice.
"What's up kid," Morty asked.
Bonnie slammed the paper onto the table in the middle of the table. He wasn't happy to learn the truth, but it was something.
"I just learned how my father died," he snarled.
Roxy picked up the letter and read it before handing it to Morty. He read the paper and handed it to Wing. Mr. Lyon looked over his shoulder. He seemed interested in the letter. He took it and the letter. Bonnie could see that he thought this was the find of the century but he didn't care.
"What does this mean," Morty asked, "the kid's old man was the servant of the beast?"
"This is the first time that I've heard of this," said Roxy, "what do you think Wing?"
Wing pondered for a moment as he studied the letter. He haven't heard this either. He looked over the boy then back at the letter that was now on the table.
"We'll have to talk with the elder of my tribe. I'm sure that he may know something about this."
#
A moose animatronic was studying the letter. He placed the letter onto the table. He shook his head at them.
"I've never heard of the beast taking a servant," he said, "but, if he did then we could find out where it's liar is."
"One problem though," said Morty, "the servant is dead."
"As it says in the letter," the moose agreed, "but perhaps our young friend must know something from the story that his father told him."
He turned to Bonnie. Bonnie let out a sigh. The story didn't really give the location but then again it could have. He walked over to the map and scanned it. He found the location where he was looking for and placed his finger onto the map.
"That's got to be the place," he said, "there's a small river nearby and a cave system. My dad's story started with him and his friends fishing at a body of water."
"That's a good place to start," said Morty, "but how are we supposed to get there? Our vehicles can't go through."
"There's a hidden trail just north from it." Bonnie continued, "if we take this path here then we can reach the river and from there we can cut through the trees here. That's where we'll find the cave."
"Nice work, kid," said Morty patting his shoulder.
"Looks like we have a path," said Roxy with her hand on her hip, "if we move now then we'll make it in time."
'Thank you elder," said Wing.
"Don't thank me," said the moose before turning to Bonnie, "I must speak with the boy alone."
Bonnie titled his head to the side in confusion. The elder gestured for him to follow him into the next room. Bonnie looked over at the others. Morty and Roxy shrugged while Wing gestured for him to go ahead. Bonnie walked after the elder into the next room.
The moose was waiting for him. He was sitting in a chair and gestured for him to take the one across from him. Bonnie sat down and turned to face him.
"I must discourage you from going," he said.
"I have to go," Bonnie protested, "he has my girlfriend."
"I understand that but however it is a trap."
"A trap?"
"Yes, if what that note says is to be believed then he will be targeting you. We can't say that what he would want with you but it'll because of your father's actions in the past."
"That doesn't scare me," Bonnie replied with determination in his voice, "I'm not going to let that bastard eat my girl. I'll do whatever it takes to save her, even if I die trying."
"You are brave. Your courage is to be admired which is why I will tell you that there is a way to kill the beast."
"There is? How?"
The moose chuckled as he realized that this boy was considering it but he got serious for a moment.
"You must tear open his chest and remove the heart then toss it into a fire. However, there is a price."
"What's the price?"
"The demon inside the body will escape and will be searching for a new host. It'll come for you, and you could end up becoming like my ancestor. You could become the new Nightmare."
'So, in order to save Chi, then I'll have to sacrifice myself."
"Yes, you would."
Bonnie looked down at his hand. He made a fist he made his choice. He was going to end Nightmare and save Chi even if that means that he ends up becoming a monster himself.
"I suggest that you think it over my son," said the elder as he stood up.
He watched him leave before looking out the window that faced the forest. He stood up and walked toward it. He reached out his hand as memories of Chi entered his mind. He had just gotten her to be his girlfriend and now he had to give up a future with her to save her life.
There was no way that he would back down from his resolve. He'll find them, save Chi and kill Nightmare even if he couldn't be with her again. He closed his hand making a fist. He held it up to the forest.
Don't worry Chi, I'm coming to save you; even if I have to become like him.

Mystery thirteen, beginnings of a new cycle
#
Chi woke up to find herself chained up to the roof of a cave. Oil was dripping down her temp. she looked down to see several endoskeletons lying on the floor of the cave. She looked up at the chains. She swung her feet back and forth using what she learned from cheerleading to help break the chains.
She cartwheeled into the air to land onto her feet. Her knees buckled from the impact. She managed to catch herself. She looked around trying to find an exit. She heard the sound of hands clapping. She spun around to see Nightmare standing there.
"Well done girl, I'm impressed."
Chi got into a fighting stance. He held his back and laughed. This girl had no idea who she was messing with. He wasn't one to miss an opportunity to show her. He walked over and slapped her across the room. She hit the wall back first. He laughed as he walked toward her. She looked up as he towered over her.
"If you're going to eat me then do it," she said, "I just hope that I give you indigestion."
"Someone like you, no, you'll taste sweet. I've been watching you girl and your boyfriend. I know what type of person you are. What an animatronic show to the surface is what they taste like."
"What do you want from me?"
"Not from you but from your boyfriend."
"What do you want with Bonnie," she hissed.
"I guess you don't know. You see his father was my servant, but he betrayed me and so I had to kill him."
"You killed Mr. Bunny!"
"That's right, I did. I've decided that my vengeance wouldn't end with his death. I would target his family as well. I'm going to start with his first-born son."
"You bastard," she shouted, "I won't let you get your hands on him!"
Nightmare could only laugh. He walked off, leaving her there. Chi waited until he was gone before standing up. She walked down deeper into the cave going the opposite way that he went. As she walked she could see body parts and endoskeletons everywhere. She had to be careful where she stepped so as not to get his attention to her location.
She came to a end dead and cursed under her breath. She turned around to head in a different direction. She walked past several tunnels. She peered into them to see if she could see a light at the end of the tunnel. She came to a large chamber that had draws of Nightmare fighting several natives.
She walked to one of a rabbit animatronic teyring open Nightmare's heart and tossing it into a fire. She looked to the next to see the rabbit transforming into a monster just like Nightmare and the cycle continuing but this time it was people with guns.
She stepped back as she saw who the rabbit was that had become the new monster. An image of Bonnie half transformed in a beast. She couldn't believe it. This had to be a joke.
"Now, you know what will happen."
She spun around to see Nightmare standing there. He walked toward the drawing. He let out a growl as he scratched the stone wall that had the image of Bonnie half transformed.
"The cycle will continue, but I won't dead if the boy dies."
"You won't kill him that easily," she growled, "Bonnie is strong and he won't stop until he defeats you."
"Why do you think that you're here."
She froze, he had brought her here to make Bonnie surrender to prevent his death and the cycle to continue. She looked up at the image. She couldn't let Bonnie come here. She didn't want to lose him, not after they finally got together.
"The cycle has begun to repeat the moment that boy was born. I'll end him before he has the chance to take what's mine."
Bonnie, no matter what happens, you can't come here. I don't want to lose you.

Mystery fourteen, the final fight begins
#
Bonnie and the others followed the path that they had agreed on to reach the cave where hopefully they could find Chi and Nightmare. Bonnie walked ahead as he had been there several times with his rifle in hand. Morty noticed the river that was near the cave. He saw a figure kneeling over the river having a drink.
"Hey, look," he whispered.
Bonnie and Roxy walked toward them while Wing stood back. They could see the figure drinking. Roxy reached into her pouch and pulled out night vision googles that she use to see from far distance. She held them up to her face.
"It's Nightmare," she whispered as she lowered her googles.
"Is Chi with him," Bonnie asked.
"No," she replied, "it's just him."
"We should follow him," Wing whispered, "he'll lead us to the girl and his liar."
Bonnie nodded to himself as the others agreed. Morty and Roxy didn't say it but they were sure that the girl was dead. They didn't want to cause any more pain for the boy. They both had grown fond of him as they had gotten to know him.
"He's moving," Bonnie whispered.
They crept quietly behind him. Bonnie was sure that he knew that they were there and was just leading them into a trap. They watched as he reached a cave. Bonnie looked to the others. They nodded as they made their way inside.
"Well, just exactly as I expected," Morty whispered as they saw endoskeletons lining the floor.
"Quiet," Roxy hissed, "we don't want him knowing that we're here."
"I'm sure he knows," said Bonnie making them look at him in confusion.
"Agreed," said Wing, "we might as well have fallen into a trap."
As he said those words, they heard the sound of claws scratching against stone walls. Bonnie held his ears trying to drown out the noise. Nightmare stepped out from the shadows. They readied their rifles as he took a step toward them.
"Where's Chi," Bonnie demanded.
"She's safe for now."
"You expect us to believe that" Roxy asked, "bring her out there now."
Nightmare let out a growl in her direction. Morty took a step forward getting between Roxy and the beast. Nightmare looked back at the boy holding his rifle to his eye aiming at his chest.
"If you want your precious girlfriend to leave this place alive then you must take her place."
"An exchange," Bonnie asked, "how do I know that you won't back on your word?"
"Didn't daddy tell you? I've kept my word and let him live for as long as he served me."
"Kid," said Morty, "don't listen to him. He'll kill you once given the chance."
"I know," Bonnie replied, "but I have no choice."
"Kid don't do it," Roxy barked.
"We can get her back," said Wing, "no need for you to go with him."
Bonnie handed Roxy his rifle while holding his other hand behind his back to where Nightmare couldn't see. Morty placed a knife in his hand. So far everything was going to Bonnie's plan. He took the knife and put it under his shirt.
He walked toward Nightmare as the others stood back watching. A smile formed on Nightmare's face. Bonnie reached him and stood in front of him.
"Where is she," he asked.
"Right above you."
He looked up to see Chi chained up to the roof of the cave. She had oil dripping down her tempo and one of her legs was bended at an odd angle. Rage burned inside his chest as he saw the state that she was in.
"I had to break her leg, she tried to escape earlier."
He glared at him while trying to fight the urge to pull out the knife now and slice him in half. Nightmare smirked at the look on his face.
"You ready?"
He launched forward and grabbed Bonnie's throat slamming his back into the wall. Chi woke up as she heard the sound down below. She gasped as she saw Bonnie being held by Nightmare against the wall. Roxy aimed her rifle at the chains and fired.
The bullet pierced through the metal causing Chi to fall but Morty caught her before she could hit the floor. Wing took that opportunity to charge at Nightmare.
"Let me go Morty," Chi cried, "he wants to kill Bonnie."
"What else is new," Morty replied as Roxy ran toward him.
"Get the girl to the van," she ordered, "I'll back up the kid and Wing."
"You got it," said Morty, "come on girl."
"No," Chi cried out as they ran out.
Morty ran to the van that was parked on the side of the road. Mr. Lyon was sitting in the driver's seat. He looked up as he heard footsteps. Morty came into view with the girl in his arms.
"You got her," he said as Morty opened the back door to set Chi inside.
"You get her to the hospital," Morty ordered, "I'm going back to the others."
"Right."
"No wait!"
"Don't worry about your boyfriend, girl. This is all his plan."
#
Roxy pulled out her machete from her waist and swung it at Nightmare's arm to make him let go of Bonnie. Nightmare swatted her away like a fly. She hit the wall across the cave. Wing pulled out two draggers and threw them at the beast.
Nightmare roared creating a gust of wind sending the draggers back at their owner. Wing tried to move but the draggers pinned him against the wall. Roxy slowly got up to her feet. She bared her teeth before running toward Nightmare.
Bonnie was reaching for the knife that was under his shirt but the problem was that it was against his back that was against the wall. Nightmare glared into his eyes.
Roxy jumped into the air with her machete over her head. Nightmare held up his hand with his sharp claws. She managed to slice off one of his fingers. He roared out in pain and smacked her back in the process. Oil poured out of his finger that had been cut. He turned to the woman responsible for it.
He dropped Bonnie to the floor as he walked toward her. She held the machete again like a baseball bat. He reached out his hand for her, but to feel a sharp object pierce through the joint behind the knee. He looked over his shoulder to see Bonnie jabbing his knife into his joint. Roxy took her chance and swung her machete.
Nightmare grabbed her wrist without looking as he continued to glare down at the boy. He twisted Roxy's wrist before throwing her aside like an insect.
"ROXY," Morty roared as he came running into the cave.
He pulled out a knife and threw it. Nightmare caught it in between his fingers before throwing it to the side, pinning Roxy to the wall just like Wing. Morty held out another knife before running toward him.
Nightmare pierced through his chest and came out from the other side. Bonnie called out to him as Morty fell onto the floor. Nightmare looked down at him. Bonnie bared his teeth at him. Nightmare reached down for him. Bonnie leapt back slicing his knife through the air. He managed to take another of Nightmare's fingers.
Nightmare roared out as he ran after him. Bonnie ran off running down the tunnel with Nightmare right behind him. He picked up Roxy's machete that had been dropped onto the floor after Nightmare had thrown her to the floor.
He jumped over a pile of endoskeletons and landed onto the other side. He came to the chamber that had the cave drawings. He stopped to see the drawing of himself in mid transformation. He didn't have time to look at it as he heard Nightmare coming down the tunnel. He continued running down the tunnel while keeping a tight grip on the machete. He could hear Nightmare's claws dragging against the wall.
Bonnie stopped as he came to a cliff. He nearly fell off but managed to catch himself. Nightmare came to a stop with a grin on his face. He had the boy cornered.
"End of the line boy."
"That's what you think," Bonnie replied.
Nightmare roared as he ran toward him. Bonnie knew that this was crazy what he had planned but at least it was something. He waited until Nightmare was in reach and grabbed him by the back of the neck. He made sure to pierce his stomach to get a better hold on him.
"What are you doing?!"
"I know this won't kill you," said Bonnie, "but at least it gets the others some time to escape."
He leaned back and let them fall down the cliff. Nightmare roared as they fell into the darkness.
#
Mystery fifteen, destiny
#
They fell into the darkness. Bonnie twisted them to where Nightmare's body would make contact with the ground first. Nightmare let out a roar as he sliced Bonnie's tempo, leaving a sallow cut. They hit the ground. The impact caused Bonnie to let go of the machete and roll across the floor.
Nightmare stood up with the machete still in his stomach. He pulled it out and tossed it across the canyon. He walked toward the boy, who was barely conscious. He took a step forward keeping his eyes on the boy lying on the ground.
"Bonnie get up."
A voice called out from inside of his head. It was one that he recognized that as of to being his father's. He jumped to his feet and jumped to the side avoiding the claws coming for him. Nightmare spun around going for him from behind.
"Behind you!"
Bonnie ducked as the claws went over his head. Nightmare couldn't understand it. How could have dodged his strike. Bonnie kept running toward the other side of the canyon. He could see the machete on the other side. He dove for it, reaching out his arm for it. He wrapped his fingers around its hilt and spun around clashing with Nightmare's claws making sparks fly.
Nightmare roared out as he pushed forward. Bonnie jumped back and sidle across the canyon. Nightmare ran toward him. Bonnie swung the machete clashing with him once again. They clashed several times. Nightmare's claws sliced his side causing oil to bleed out while the machete glazed Nightmare's arm.
Bonnie spun around swinging the machete to the side. Nightmare managed to block it while swinging his other arm forward. Bonnie leaned back barely avoiding it. He swung the machete upwards getting it stuck into Nightmare's arm. He let out a roar of pain. Bonnie managed to pull out the machete from his arm.
Nightmare slapped him in the face causing him to go flying into the wall across the canyon. As he slapped him, his claws cut his fur on the left side of his face. He sidle down to the floor still holding the machete. Nightmare walked toward him. He stood over him glaring down at the boy that was destined to take his power. He reached down to grab his throat.
"Bonnie!"
Bonnie's eyes shot open. He swung the machete upwards slicing off Nightmare's hand at the wrist. Oil spilled out like a sprinkler. Nightmare roared out as he pulled back. Bonnie got the opportunity to attack him. He launched forward slicing off his other arm from the shoulder. Nightmare roared out again as Bonnie jabbed the blade into his chest. He used all of his might to dig the machete's blade into his chest. Nightmare went to use his powerful jaws.
Bonnie cried out as Nightmare's teeth bit down onto the top of his head. His vision began to blur as Chi's face entered his mind. This was it, this was the end for him. The only thing that he regretted was not spending anymore time with his girlfriend.
A figure stepped out of the shadows and started walking toward them. Bonnie couldn't see who it was, but he knew that it wasn't any of his friends. He felt himself slipping out of consciousness.
Mystery sixteen, a reunion between father and son
#
Bonnie opened his eyes to find himself standing in a room that was covered in light. He looked around but only saw more light.
"What is this place?"
"This is the plane between worlds," said a voice.
Bonnie spun around to see that it was same the figure that he saw walking toward him earlier. His eyes widened as he realized that it was his father.
"DAD?!"
"Hey kiddo."
"Am I dead?"
"No, not yet. I've been waiting for the day where I would see you or anyone else from our family."
Tears fell down Bonnie's face. He haven't let himself cry since he was a child over his father's death. Spring placed a hand onto his shoulder letting him cry out his pain.
"It's okay son, you can cry."
Bonnie tried wiping his tears away. He didn't know what came over him but seeing his father after so long it was like everything burst. The pain that he kept bottled inside of him just burst opened.
"You've grown up son. Tell me, how old are you now?"
"Seventeen."
"Seven years, that's how long it's been, I see."
"Dad."
"Yes?"
"That letter to left me. Is it true? Were you forced to serve him?"
"Yes, it was."
Bonnie noticed the sadness in his voice. He couldn't imagine how it must have been for his father being forced to take lives for that monster.
"Do you regret it?"
"Of course, I do but I regret not being there for you. I regret not watching you and your brother grow up. I regret leaving your mother alone in the world. I mostly regret not being around my family."
"Would you do it all again?"
"There are some things that I wish that I didn't do but there are somethings that I would like to do again."
"I'm sorry dad, I couldn't defeat him and avenge you."
"I don't need to be avenge son; I just need you to live your life, but fate has other plans for you."
"What do you mean?"
Spring looked at his son with sorrow in his eyes. He never wanted this for his son.
"You're destined to become a nightmare. I wish that I have taken that burden from you."
"I all ready knew how to kill him and I was ready to become a nightmare to save the girl I love."
Spring let a laugh which caught Bonnie off guard. He wasn't expecting his father to laugh.
"I'm sorry son," he said wiping away a tear, "but I can't help be seen it now."
"See what now?"
"That you and I are very similar. People would tell me that your older boy is just like you in so many ways. I guess that I haven't noticed until now."
"I've heard that too."
Spring nodded to his son. He looked over his son's shoulder to see a door appearing for him. He looked over his own shoulder to see a door for himself.
"Looks like this is goodbye, son."
He turned to walk toward the door. Bonnie called out to him making him stop. He looked over his shoulder at him.
"Do you have to go? We finally got a chance to see each other again after so long."
"I do son and so do you."
He pointed to the door behind Bonnie. Bonnie looked over at his door. He didn't understand what that meant.
"That door with take you back to the living."
"But aren't I dead?"
"That's up to you son. You can chose to go back or stay here and wait for someone else to come and let me tell you that can take a while."
"Dad."
"Yes son?"
"Were you waiting for me?"
"Of course, I was. You needed my help in deciding your fate and now, I think you know what has to be done."
Spring pushed the door open and stepped inside. Bonnie watched his father vanish before his eyes. He looked down at his hands and made a fist. He knew what he had to do now. He turned to face the door. He wasn't going to let this stop him. He had a job to do and he wasn't going to let anything stop him.
"Thanks dad," he said as he looked over shoulder at the direction that he saw his father vanish from, "I won't let your sacrifice be in vain."
He pushed the door open and took a step forward. The light disappeared as the door closed behind him.

Mystery seventeen, a new type of beast
#
Bonnie came back to reality. He let out a cry as he dug the blade deeper into Nightmare's chest. The beast roared out before falling over onto his back. Bonnie stood there with oil dripping down his face. Nightmare looked up at him.
"I can't dead that easily."
"I know that which is way I'm willing to take your place as a monster, if it means that I'll save everyone I care about."
"You are mistaken. I don't control the demon, it controls me."
Bonnie nodded before grabbing the hilt of the machete. He took a deep breath before cutting his chest open. He pulled out the blade and threw it to the side. He knelt down and reached into his chest cavity. He looked at the beast before pulling it out. Nightmare roared as he yanked out the heart.
He pulled out a lighter from his back pocket and placed it toward the heart. He clicked the lighter and watched as a flame appear. He touched the heart with the flame. The heart began to burn up without warning. He threw the burning heart across the canyon. He watched as it burned. He looked back to the body that was turning to dust.
"You're at peace now."
A roar could be heard causing him to look back at the burning heart. A dark mass shot out from the heart. He figured that this was the demon. The mass cried out in pain before shooting itself forward. Bonnie's body acted without him telling it to move.
The mass spun around and slammed into his chest. Bonnie cried out as the mass entered his body. He fell onto his hands and knees. He could feel the pain that was burning in his chest. He looked down at his hands as they began to change and sharp claws shot out from his fingertips. He felt his body growing taller as he felt claws grow from his toes. He shook his head as he cried out from the pain.
His teeth fell out of his mouth only to be replaced by sharper ones. He looked up at the ceiling of the cave as his eyes started to change. He realized that he could see everything in the cave clearly. His screams turned roars.
He stopped screaming and stayed like that breathing heavily. He expected his mind to go but to his surprise that didn't happen. He slowly stood up to his feet. He walked toward the corpse that was now dust. He made the sign of the cross.
How is it that I have control?
He walked to the wall and started climbing upwards. He reached the top but was met with a rifle to the face. He looked up to see Roxy holding the rifle.
"That you kid," she asked.
He nodded. He looked over her shoulder to see Morty and Wing standing there leaning against each other for support.
"So, it's done," said Wing, "now he's a beast."
"Not really."
"I see that you can still speak," Morty teased, "it's a shame though, you could have been a great monster hunter."
"Well, now I can serve as a protector of the town."
"True," said Roxy, "we'll go check on the girl for you."
Bonnie thought about Chi for a moment. He knew that they couldn't be together now. He could feel the pain in his chest. He punched the ground in frustration as he swore.
"Sorry kid," said Morty, "looks like your life has changed."
"Just make sure that she knows that I love her."
"Will do," both Morty and Roxy replied.
#
Chi stood there watching as her sister and her friends taking their diplomas. A tear fell down her face as she remembered that he wouldn't be able to take his. She wiped the tear from her eye. She looked over to see TB and the rest of her friends off to the side. TB looked disappointed which she didn't blame him.
His older brother had disappeared a few months and no one knew where to find him. People had said that it was Nightmare's doing, which they had no idea how right they actually were.
"They still haven't found anything," Mangle asked.
"No, nothing," TB replied sadly, "mom and I are getting to worry."
Chi stood up and walked away not wanting to hear the conversation. She reached the edge of the parking lot that led to the woods. She looked over to her side as she remembered seeing him coming out of that forest with an injured arm.
"Bonnie," she whispered as tears fell down her face.
A hand reached out and caught the tear. She looked up to see him standing there in his beast form. She smiled at him. He maybe a monster now but he was still her Bonnie.
"You can't let the others see you," she warned.
"I think they're a little busy. Come on let's go say goodbye to Morty and Roxy, before they're gone for good."
"Right."
She took his hand and let him lift her up in the air. He placed her onto his shoulders. After he became a monster, he visited her at the hospital at night. They decided to continue their relationship even though he was a beast.
He let out a roar before launching into the air. Chi held on tight as he ran through the forest. Chi smiled as the wind hit her face. They reached the road to see a car heading their way. Bonnie let out a roar as he smelted them. Morty stopped the car as he saw them standing there. Roxy could only chuckle at the sight.
They exited the vehicle to greet their young friends. Bonnie set Chi onto the ground feet first.
"You two came to say goodbye," Morty asked with a smirk.
"Yep," Chi replied, "I want to thank you two for saving him."
"Don't thank us," said Roxy, "we were only doing our job."
"So, where are you two going now?"
"Wherever, we're needed," Morty replied, "take care kid."
"And make sure that you keep yourself under control," Roxy retorted, "we don't want to come back in order to hunt you down."
Bonnie chuckled as he put his arm around Chi's shoulders, pulling her closer to his side. She put her hand onto his chest, smiling up at him.
"That's not a problem."
"I'll make sure that he does," Chi promised.
"You better," Morty replied with a laugh.
He and Bonnie shook hands while Chi and Roxy hugged each other goodbye. Roxy whispered to Bonnie that he better take good care of her, or otherwise; she'll shoot him.e
He nodded to her. They watched as they got back into the car. They waved goodbye as they drove off. Chi looked up at him. He looked down at her before kissing her beak, which she happily returned.
#
"I'm done for the day," said Chi as she stood up from her desk.
"That was fast," said Mangle, "did you get that document filed?"
"Yes boss," Chi replied with a smile.
"Do you have to call me that," Mangle groaned.
"Well, you are the boss. I got to go, I need to make dinner."
"See you tomorrow."
"See ya."
She walked off heading to the elevator. Chi had started working for Mangle's company after she graduated high school. She also had decided to live with Bonnie in the forest along with their son. She pressed the button and waited.
"Hey Chi, ya headin' home," a voice called.
She looked to see Foxy; Mangle's husband standing there. She smiled as she nodded. He nodded back before he walked off to have a chat with his wife about a delivery. The elevator doors opened and she stepped inside. She pressed the button for the lobby. She leaned against the wall and pulled out her phone.
She looked at a photo of her family with a smile on her face. Bonnie had found a way to change back and forth from beast to his normal form, but because he didn't trust himself in a public setting; he stayed home in the cabin that they called home with their son.

Chi walked into the cabin to see her son Bennie sitting in the living room playing with his toys. She smiled and took one of his toys to hide it behind the couch like she does every time she comes home. Bennie reached for where it was but couldn't find it.
"Mommy," he cheered.
Chi giggled as she greeted her son with a hug. Bennie happily hugged his mother.
"Were you a good boy, while I was at work?"
"Yep."
"Oh, really do I need to check with daddy?"
She tickled him, making him laugh, which drew Bonnie's attention from the kitchen. He smiled at his wife and son. The two had gotten married in secret as he was supposedly missing.
"Welcome home angel," he said.
"Hey cutie," she said walking toward him.
They kissed in greeting. Chi could smell the deer cooking. Bonnie was such a good house husband. He would go out hunting and bring back enough meat for their family.
"Dinner is almost already."
"Great I'm starving. Are we having deer steak?"
"Yep, we had enough left over."
"Glad to hear it."
"Go wash up and I'll set the table. Bennie give me a hand here please."
"Okay, daddy," Bennie replied as he jumped to his feet.
He helped his father set the table while Chi changed out of her work clothes and into a red flannel that showed her stomach and jean shorts. She walked into the kitchen and sat down with her family.
"Let's eat," she said.

Chi covered up her son as she put him to bed. Bonnie leaned against the door frame watching them. They were worried that Bennie would be like his father and their fear came true. When he was born, he transformed into his beast form or nightmare form as they took to calling it. They knew that he couldn't be around other kids or their families. They decided to keep his birth a secret.
She walked toward him and placed a kiss onto his cheek. He chuckled as she walked away to make her way to their bedroom to change into her PJs. He looked over at his son.
He thought about his own father and how he would be proud of his grandson. He thought back to the events that led to his life now. He was different than he was before, but at least he still had Chi by his side. That was the only good thing that came out of this whole mess. Now they had a child of their own that they had to protect.
"Night kiddo," he whispered as he turned off the light.
"Bonnie, are you coming," Chi called from their room.
He chuckled as the seductive tone wasn't lost on him. He turned and walked toward their room.
"Coming angel."
