Spider-Man: Spectacular Season 01 Episode 03
We see Spider-Man taking out some thugs hitting up a bakery and he'd managed to web them up along with taking photos having his camera set to a timer to take photos of him in action. When they'd heard the sirens he'd left and the cops get a card floating down to them that had the words courtesy of your friendly neighborhood spider-man on it as he'd already been gone having hopped atop one of the tranins to get a ride on back to his place, and on time for once.
Later on Peter had gone into the house seeing Aunt May and says "Made it on time for once." He spoke coming in and seeing that she was looking at the bills.
"Making it with only a few seconds to spare is hardly cause for"Aunt May, relax I know you've been struggling but I'm trying to find freelance work to help."" She'd began to say, but he'd cut her off stating that he's trying to find a way to help.
Before Aunt May could say anything Peter holds his hand up saying "Freelance, that way it won't cut into my study time and I can keep up my grades." Peter repeated so that she wouldn't worry about his grades slipping or anything.
We then cut to after school let out the next day and Peter's Spider-Sense had gone off with him stepping forwards going towards the fountain as water balloons splat onto the ground where he had been. Though he was playing it off as not paying attention. He'd then bent down as if to check something in his bag with more balloons hitting into the fountain instead of him, then stood up and kept walking.
"Hey, Gwen, Harry!" Peter called running to catch up with them as the last of the balloons had hit the ground instead and began to chat with them.
We then see Flash and another football player named Kenny as they were surprised that Peter had just totally obliviously avoided all of their balloons with Kenny questioning "What just hapened?" Confused.
Much later on we see that they were at the lab with Eddie tossing Peter a broom saying "We still got some cleaning up to do."
However Curt came in saying "Save it for later, right now we celebrate." while shaking Eddie's hand.
Eddie questioned "What are we.." But then stopped looking down and being surprised "Your right hand, you've got the formula to work!" excited to see that.
"It's great that.." Martha spoke but stopped for a moment and looked at her son Billy saying "Eddie connected the ALDB to the office computer, why don't you go learn more about those aliens Ben10 uses that you like so much."
"COOL!" Billy called running off to check it out shutitng the office door as he did so making it so they couldn't see one another.
"Take off your shirt dear." Martha spoke asking her husband to take his shirt off for them confusing the rest of them.
"It's freezing in here why would.." Curt began to ask but saw the look on her face and says "Okay fine." taking off his shirt and they see scales beginning to form across his back and down his arm.
We see later on as they were working for some way to create a cure as the scales had moved up to his face as well and Eddie says "It's no good, the serum is creating different reptilian sequences faster than I can ID them." Eddie stated to the others.
"Wait, bro. What if we worked at it from the other end? Create a human filter that knocks out the lizard code? Like a noise filter on a cellphone." Peter had suggested to them instead saying to try it from a different angle.
"That could work, a gene cleanser." Martha spoke helping Curt stand up as he was getting worse still.
"My notes, they'll have everything you need." Curt spoke saying to use his research to create the cure.
"So, it'll remove any non-human DNA right?" Gwen the questioned as Peter had realized that could work for him too.
'Anything not human, even spider.' he'd thought to himself and noticed that Billy had been listening in and goes into the lab to talk. "How long were you listening?" he'd aked them.
"I don't wanna talk about it." Billy answered looking at the book on lizards that was sitting on the desk. "The book says most lizards don't even see their babies hatch and the babies get eaten but the parents don't even care."
"Billy, your dad will always care about you." Peter spoke putting a hand on his shoulder and we then hear Curt howling out in pain and Peter goes to investigate seeing him turning into a lizard like creature that had sprouted claws and a tail along with a muzzle that had become elongated and filled with sharp teeth.
The Lizard had busted thorugh the skylight and ran off leaving them all there without him. Peter then calls "You guys finish the formula, I'll call in with the location." before running off after them to go try to help.
We then see Peter running down an alleyway webbing up his bag and then changing into his costume getting onto a rooftop using his webbing and running off to chase after Curt, or is it the Lizard now? Doesn't matter, he'd seen the damage caused by them and Spider-Man heads towards the carnage.
"Alright if I were a six five lizad where would I go?" Spider-Man asked himself aloud while looking around and seeing people running from the subway entrance. "Duh, underground."
He'd seen everyone panicking and gone swung past grabbing the Lizard saying "No eating in the subway pal." before kicking him into some of those gates "EVERYONE STOP PANICKING, just head towards the exit as fast as you can, if there's anyone that needs help getting up the stairs help them too. I'll handle the rest." he'd then called to the crowd as they all done what he'd said clearing out as many people as possible.
"Alright Doc, it's just me and you. The others are working on a way to cure you but you gotta get back to the lab for them to do so." He'd stated jumping up dodging their tail and swinging up towards the top of the tunnel and webbing the Lizard pulling him up there too before webbing him to the cieling.
"Stick around for awhile." He'd told them before calling Gwen on his phone. "Gwen, it's Peter. Doc Connors is currently in the subway tunnel exit next to the College hurry with that cure and call me when you've got it he's one the move so we may be somewhere else." before hanging up as the Lizard clawed at him.
The Lizard had broken free of the webbing and landed onto a train with Spider-Man jumping onto it with him still trying to get through "Curt, you gotta calm down this isn't you, it's the formula causing problems." however this didn't seem to help much.
The Lizard just hissed at Spider-Man and swung his tail at them knocking him to the side of the car they were on but he'd managed to get back up there grabbing the tail when he'd swung it again and wrapped it around them with the Lizard trying to bite Spider-Man's arm. However he'd moved a bit making them bite their own tail instead.
The Lizard looked wide eyed and then let out a painfilled cry as Spider-Man says "Ooh, that one looked like it hurt as the Lizard looked at the bite mark on their tail and then let out an angry roar with our wall crawler saying "Uh oh."
We then see him being busted through the roof of the car they were on hitting the floor of it saying "Ow."
The Lizard picked him up and was about to bite off their head, but a woman smacked him in the head with their bag distrating them for a moment. Taking advantage Spider-Man then knocked them through the window but the Lizard clawed into the side of the car stopping them as Spider-Man tried to web himself to them but they'd clawed at the webbing sending him falling backwards.
After getting up holding his shoulder Spider-Man says "So much for Plan A." and goes back to the lab hearing Martha talking about the formula.
"Alright, I think we're done but the only way we'll know for sure is if he drinks it." Martha spoke saying that it couldn't be injected.
"The hide is too thick otherwise, but how are we going to do that?" Gwen then asked wondering how to get it to work.
"Maybe by asking for some help from a guy in a spider themed costume?" Spider-Man then spoke decending down on a webline while upside down.
"Spider-Man? How did you know we needed help?" Eddie spoke confused as to what they were doing there.
"Um.. Spider Sense." He'd then answered making up the reason why he was there exactly ready to help them all the same. They'd had a police scanner on using Eddie's phone and heard something about the Bronx Zoo and Spider-Man says "I'm on my way." Webbing one of the viles and taking it with him.
We then cut to sometime later as Spider-Man had seen the flashing lights of a squad car and gone in finding some cops that'd fallen onto a bench when a snake slithered across. "Don't get up I'll get this one." He'd told them saying to relax and saw the door to the reptile exhibit broken into and so headed off in there.
"This place is a total Sauna." He'd spoken to himself using a web to swing from the wall to one of the poles and looked around spotting what he'd thought was The Lizard jumping down to face them and finding out it was a crocodile instead. "Oh great, in-laws." He'd spoken trying not to fall off into the water.
The Lizard had come up behind them and grabbed Spider-Man pulling him into the water however the croc had tried to snap at the Lizard making them let go and Spider-Man floated up to the surface where the cops pulled him out of the water and he'd started to cough sitting up. "Thanks, but the Lizard isn't in the mood to cooperate when he's enjoying his playdate in the heated pool." He'd told them watching the Lizard fighting the Croc.
"Wait a second, that pool is heated, you guys know what happens when you dunk a cold blooded animal into the freezing water of a polar bear exhibit?" He'd then asked the cops that were there. "Keep the other cops clear, I got an idea of how to stop them but you two will need to act as bait to draw them out here."
The Cops run off to do that and Spider-Man begins prepping the plan by webbing the entrance to the caves so the bears didn't get involved and then found the perfect spot. We then see them coming back with the Lizard attacking them and having knocked them into a tree with his tail knocking them out in the process.
Spider-Man goes to attack and manages to kick them over the side of the exhibit and sending them crashing down into the freezing cold waters slowing them down in the process and he'd forced their jaw open pouring the vile down his throat. "Alright time to take your medicine, sorry we don't have any cherry flavoring, but it's guarenteed to cure what ails you."
We then see the Lizard reverting back to Curt again with it also causing the loss of his arm again and we see Spider-Man helping get Curt out of there and over the back wall of the zoo so that the cops couldn't see him. He'd then come back as the cops come too questioning "What happened, where's the Lizard?"
"Gone, but I don't think we'll be seeing them again anytime soon." Spider-Man answered before saying "You guys keep up the good work." and Swung off before they could question him more and he'd helped Curt get back to the lab without anyone seeing.
We see that Spider-Man had a camera set up to one of the lamp posts and get a flash going off and get the image of a newspaper coming into view reading Daily Bugle with the main headline being Spidey Vs Lizard along with one of the photos taken during the battle and underneath it says Spectacular Photo by BR.
We then see that they were at the lab with Eddie showing them the paper saying "They got pictures and everything."
"Who could have taken these?" Martha questions looking at the photo seeing the photographer went by BR.
"Guys I've been considering something." Peter says to the group getting their attention. "With everything that's happened I've been mulling it over in my head and I think it's best that I resign from the lab."This had surprised them to hear that Peter wanted to quit "But I know you wanted two high schoolers for the internship and I reccomend Harry Osborn to take my place." Peter then told them saying that he thinks they should consider Harry for a replacement.
"Eddie what do you think?" Curt asked looking over at the college freshman asking his thoughts about that.
"Out of the four of us back when I was still at Midtown Peter was the smartest of us, Harry ranked third behind Gwen and ahead of me." Eddie answered back before looking at Peter questioning "Are you sure about this bro?"
"I am. With keeping up my studdies, freelancing to help pay the bills at home, Aunt May's curfew, the lab work running late usually, and tutoring I feel stretched thin this way I can have more time to rest between everything." Peter answered back telling them that he was certain about choosing to quit the lab.
