Shifu's POV Story:

Forgiveness.

""Master Shifu?"

I suppressed a sigh. Today's class was harder than usual, and perhaps it was just because I was a bit sharp today. This was one of those days where I got really annoyed by my students saying my name every single time. As a teacher of my status, it takes immense patience to balance out both duties of instructing and leading as a master.

"Yes," I spun around to face my student, Crane, who had spoken.

"Master, I just don't understand this," He said, "Why don't we stand in a straight line, doesn't that make more sense? I mean, it's not like we're trying to impress anyone of anything."

"I flicked my ear back in annoyance. You're not trying to impress me? I suddendly felt hurt.

For the Shaolin training this morning, I had instructed my students to perform a significant kind of routine that Master Oogway was peculiarly fond of: The Pinnacle of Perfection. For the base warriors for the routine, the students usually stood in a straight line, but I took into the thought of consideration to alter it.

However, I winced at Crane's statement. I noticed his tone was a bit sharp although he bowed low to the ground, but I still was unnerved by his impulsiveness. A student should never outright disrespect his master in that manner, regardless of rank.

"You must not question me," I said sternly, "You will do as you are told."

"Crane blinked and bowed lower to the ground, almost touching the floor. "Yes, Master." I thought I saw his beak open in a sigh. What I could most definitely see was the glare that pierced out from his yellow gaze.

"Good."I let my gaze flicker back and forth to my other students around me. They were such good students, really. I would give up anything for them. And truly, if I live long enough to see my pupils perhaps become Senior Masters, or at least teachers, that would mean the world to me. But, of course, they are still futile warriors and students, so I take my time to ensure their education is perfect.
Even if they cause me a few headaches along the way...

Yet I proceed.

The class was eventually finished, much to my relief (which I was surprised to find) and I dismissed my pupils from the class. I breathed for a moment before returning to my office in the palace to work on some things I needed to work on. A short while later, which hardly felt like "later," I heard a knock at my door.
The assistant who was ready to open the door at my word glanced at me, and I gave him a soft nod as if to say, "open the door"
"You may enter." I spoke, and the assistant opened the door, revealing the soft face of my avian student, Crane.
What a coincidence.

"Master," Crane came softly into my room and bowed, fist in his open palm, as was the custom. "Do you have a moment?"

"Yes." I said, softly folding my hands in front of me and straightening. "What is it?"

"I-I'm sorry for earlier, Master." Crane's eyes, unlike earlier, bore upon me with a soft and gentle glow of submission. I listened as Crane went on, my ears occasionally flicking as I watched my student's nervous movements in front of me."I shouldn't have spoken up, that was wrong of me."Crane spoke, his voice genuinely hurt. "I-I ask for your forgiveness, Master." Crane glanced up at me, a pleading look in his eyes. I understood where he was coming from, even if I didnt like it. I remember the myraid number of times I spoke out rather rashly against my master. It hurt me to even think of the memories.

Nonetheless, I was rather honored and grateful for my student's apology and gave a short nod. "I forgive you, of course." I spoke at last, breathing in a deep breath and sighed. "But it was an ignorant thing to say. I wouldn't have gotten through with that in my youth, you know that."

Crane bowed again, and this time-lower. "Yes, Master. And I apologize."

"And you are forgiven." I lifted my gaze to solemnly meet my student's as we stared at each other for a moment, just as master and student. "I appreciate your apology."

Crane nodded and bravely met my gaze. I felt like I could tell he was being filled with emotion by how he was almost completely chewed out by his master. "T-thank you, Master Shifu."

"All right then," I responded, blinking and dipping my head as my student did the same. "Thank you."

I watched as my student bowed again, and stood up. I stared for moment as I glanced at Crane's aapparent raw power in the Shaolin, and I suddenly felt very proud. He is truly my student, after all.
Crane turned around to exit the room, but suddenly my mind caught onto a wondering thought, and I spoke out to stop him.

"Oh, and Crane-"

"Yes, Master?"

"Go on and clean the training hall before our next class."

As I spoke those "last famous words," I thought I caught the glint of "you have got to be kidding me" caught in his eyes. I sighed as Crane bowed and exited the room, and I muttered to myself, with a michevious chuckle,

"I'm glad I'm the teacher and not the student this time"

-
Shifu! You a such a crazy old master! Who knew he had that michevious side? xD
I guess it was kind of good to see Crane and Shifu interact for once! Lol
