Spider-Man: Spectacular Season 01 Episode 04
We see that Peter had been sleeping in his suit and hear Aunt May calling for him so he rolled over onto the floor and pulled up his sleeve removing the webshooter from his arm and waved calling "I'm fine Aunt Lost a shoe.. Ah here it is." He'd called befre reaching down and picking up one o f his shoes and wavig it into the air.
"Alright dear, well breakfast is waiting downstars I'll be next door at Anna's if you need anything." before shutting the door and Peter looked relieved to hear the door shut and stood up. We then see him dressed and running downstairs finding waffles and noticed something on the countertop seeing envelopes and sighing while reading them "Gas, Fire, Electric Phone.."
He'd put them back and Aunt May had come in saying "Oh good, you're finally up. I was just over at Anna's and her nice Mary Jane was there, she's a lovely girl. You should really meet her sometime."
"Oh really, what's she like?" Peter then questioned hearing that Mary Jane was there now wondering if she's his age.
"She has such a wonderful personality." Aunt May answered back with Peter shuddering slightly at that given the stereotype before May then says "Oh, she's there now. You could go over and say hello."
"Oh uh, sorry I remembered I gotta help Harry with something and can't miss the bus. Maybe some other time." Peter spoke making up an excuse to not do that and proceeded to head off waving to Aunt may. "Bye." He'd called on his way out the door.
We then see Spider-Man swinging through the city saying "I so gotta get me a headset." while talking on the phone switching from ear to ear.
We see that he was talking to Eddie who was checking out the eel tank asking "What?" while continuing to check things around the lab.
"Oh uh, nothing Bro. Just trying to do too much at once." Spider-Man answers back about what he was saying.
"And even after you quit the lab." Eddie says in response before we then cut back to Spider-Man webbing a building and swinging around the corner.
"Look i know you're mad that I quit but"Don't go oll emo on me Bro. Ya I'm a bit upset you quit but I get it, you need more time to study and focus on helping find a way to pay the bills. I just need to be mad at you for awhile for doing it so abruptly."" He'd began saying though Eddie interrupted him saying that he understands.
"Right, thanks for understanding. I'm about to get to Harry's place so I gotta go." Spider-Man spoke before hanging up and dropping down where no one would see him changing back into the normal steet clothes. Peter then went off and got onto the elevator.
Once up there Norman met him at the Elevator door saying "Peter, nice to see you again. Here to help Harry huh?"
"We help each other Mister O." Peter answered back while stepping off of the elevator to talk with Norman.
"Now now, modesty doesn't become men like us. Smart, driven, responsible, self made." Norman then adds while putting his hand on Peter's shoulder.
"I'm more of a work in progress." Peter answered back about that saying that he wasn't self made yet.
"At least you're making progress." He'd responded looking over at Harry who sighed and went off to his room with Peter following.
"Mind if I check my email?" Peter asked coming in, and Harry gestures for him to go ahead so Peter gets onto Harry's laptop going thorugh reading "Invitation to fall formal."
"Which would be fun if either of us could get dates." Harry stated in response to hearing that they had an invite to the school dance.
"Well, I could always ask Marry Jane Watson." Peter stated which Harry looked up confused at him wondering who he was talking about. "She's a girl my Aunt May wants me to meet. Get this she's got a wonderful personality."
Both Peter and Harry shudder at that and Harry says. "I was thinking about asking Gwen to go with me, y'know just as a friend."
"I wouldn't know Miss Stacy is currently not speaking to me for quitting at the labs so abruptly." Peter responded back before getting a ping and reads quietly, whatever it had said had cheered him up quite a bit and he'd logged out and started helping Harry with his studies.
Later on we see Peter going into the Daily Bugal and up to the office that reads J. Jonah Jameson on it. "Mr. Jameson, Peter Parker you guys sent me an email earlier." Peter then states to the guy who had a buzz cut.
"Right, I was expecting someone a bit older. Photos of that costumed freak sells papers. I want a whole stack of them by deadline. You got two hours now move it!" Jonah stated to Peter shaking his hand and telling him to get more photos.
"I'll do my best Mr. Jameson." Peter responded turning and walking on out of the office wondering about how to get the pay for the previous photos.
"I'll get the check for you Peter." the secretary spoke in response to them and so he'd walked over to her desk as she was getting the check ready for him.
"Thanks Miss Brant." Peter spoke thanking her for helping him get the check for the previous photos that he'd turned over to them previously.
"You can just call me Betty." She'd told him while typing on the computer sending the info to print the check out for him.
"Thanks Betty, so how do you manage to work for someone like Jameson?" Peter spoke leaning on the desk.
"He's actually a decent man down deep, hard to find a boss like that now a days." Betty responded about all that.
"We talking Mariana Trench or Dante's Nineth Circle here?" He'd questioned as the machine printed out the check making her laugh as she'd handed it to him.
We then see Spider-Man swinging off into the city and he hears an alarm seeing some crooks driving off in a get away vehicle. He chases them down to one of the storage garages on a dock and he'd moved onto the roof seeing that it was Marko and his buddy O'Hirn again. He webbed his camera to part of the broken skylight setting it to a timer and put the check into a zipper pocket on the inside of his bag then webbed it to the side of the stairway entrance and craled through the skylight sticking to the ceiling.
While they were waiting for them Spider-Man webbed Marko pulling him over to him and grabbing both hands behind his back saying "Marko, really? We've gotta stop meeting like this." Before letting go and doging Marko swinging a crowbar, followed by dodging O'Hirn and webbing up the latter's hands and feet together. "Same goes for you O'Hirn."
He'd webbed up Marko to the top of the getaway car when something set off his Spider-Sense and he'd been blasted by something into one of the trucks that was parked there and someone walked up to him saying "I bet that came as a bit of a shocker eh bug? Well good so will this." as we see someone in a yellow and red suit that covered them from head to toe along with gauntlents that were producing that green energy pulse that'd knocked him into the truck.
Spider-Man managed to dodge and it'd blown the engines of three of those trucks apart as he'd dodoged around sticking to the roof and the guy says "Hold still so I can put you out of your misery."
"How about putting me out of my mystery instead, who are you?" Our Wall crawler demanded to know just who was attacking him.
"Call me, well, how's about Shocker?" they'd called before blasting at him again with Spider-Man swinging from where he was using a webline.
"How's about we call you toast?" Spider-Man then questioned swinging to kick Shocker in the chest before being knocked back by that weird energy.
"Well, either you got less kick than a three legged mule or this suit does more than protect me from my own powers." Shocker stated going over to the wall crawler and picking him up saying "Guess clothes do make the man." Before blasting him again into some bags of probably trash or something.
O'Hirn drove a truck trying to run over Spider-Man crashing into the garbage where he'd been questioning "Did I get him?"
Shocker replies to this saying "All you got is on my nerves." blasting them out of the way and Spider-man lands on Shocker's back.
"Don't take it personal O'Hirn gets cranky without his na-a-a-a-a-a-ap." The web slinger spoke as Shocker began vibrating using that energy knocking them off of him. "Y'know you could hire yourself out as a kiddie ride."
"I already got a job I love." Shocker stated blasting at Spider-Man again sending him crashing into a compactor that was empty and Shocker blasted the controls making it start to press down onto Spider-Man closing it's lids making him out of sight as the hydrolics had began to smoke. They'd assumed that'd done the trick and it was smoking becase he'd blasted it pressing a finger up to his ear calling "Alright I need an extraction."
After they'd already cleared out we hear loud banging and see dents starting to form on the side of the compactor before Spider-Man's arm had busted through it and he'd started ripping through it. "Gone." He'd sighed seeing that Shocker and the other two had escaped then began to shake his hand because of the pain saying. "Also, Ow." as he did so.
The next day at school we see Peter in line to climb the rope along with Harry who was already trying but he'd failed to do so which made Flash laugh at them. "Lay off Flash, how's about a race. First one to the top wins." Peter then called.
One of the football players named Randy says "Dude, Parker is calling you out." finding it entertaining to see.
Peter doesn't stink this time and so Flash actually goes through with it and the two line up with the coach saying "Alright on my mark, ready. Get set.." He'd blown the whistle for them to start and the two began.
Flash started climbing but Peter was climbing faster, he'd been grabbing the rope and pulling himself up each time to make it believable instead of showing off with his spider powers making it a little more even, however peter still got to the bell first and began to ring it as Flash was just reaching his bell at the top indicating Peter won.
Peter then let go dropping back down but pretended to slip on the mat so as to not blow his cover saying "Guess I gotta work on my landing." and had seen the Volleyball rolling over to them. Instead of throwing it to the girls he'd walked it over to them handing it over instead.
We then see later that he was at the Daily Bugal with a stack of photos in his hand saying "I got more pics. Just need them signed off on, and Uh.. Keep using the B. R. initials instead of my name please."
"Sure, he'll be with you in a moment. Oh you gotta meet our editor-in-cheif, this is Joe Robertson." Bettey answered back introducing their go to guy for everything. "This is Peter Parker."
"The photographer right? Call me Robbie, you got any new shots for us?" The man, Robbie spoke shaking Peter's hand.
"Yes sir Mr. Robertson, er.. Robbie." Peter spoke shaking his hand and holding up a stack of photos that were ready and printed out.
"It's amazing you can get any photos at all honestly, but you're gonna need to get you a new camera that can take better photos if you wanna work here." Robbie then told him saying he'd need better equipment.
We then see that Peter was heading to a store as the guy was closing up saying "Closing early today, come back tomorrow." while looking over their shoulder.
We then see Marko and O'Hir trying to steal stuff as the latter says "Just load the trucks will ya, once it's out that Spider-Man is dead every crook in the city will be hitting the streets." Suddenly the two had their hands webbed to the box and Spider-Man lands on top of it.
"Well, looks like the news of my untimely death were greatly exaggerated." Spider-Man stated to them landing onto the box and the two looked at him confused "Er.. I'm not Dead." He then stated using smaller words "Whatever, just tell Shocker I want a rematch." and then swung off leaving them for the cops.
"This box is getting Heavy." Marko stated as the two fell over not able to keep it up any longer.
We then cut to Peter coming in seeing Aunt May worried about the bills looking at the papers in front of here. "I'm home before the curfew."
"That's apriciated Peter, I'm just paying bill, or at least trying to decide what to hold off on paying." Aunt May responds to him as Peter took out his camera and the money remembering what Robbie said.
Peter took a deep breath and then sat down putting the money on the table surprising her. "Uncle Ben used to say that a man needs to live up to his responsibilites, making sure we don't loose our home doesn't have to fall on you alone. I'm the man of the house now so I should be helping with the bills and things."
Aunt May was surprised by this and hugs Peter saying "You're growing into a fine young man, Ben would be proud." before then pulling away to look him in the face and adds "But.. I'm not going to take all of this, you should still be able to spend it on yourself so, we'll put ten percent of what you make aside for you understand?"
"I understand." Peter spoke letting her count out the money and handing him back some of it which he'd put into his wallet.
The next day Peter had gone to a workshop and had the focus fixed on his old camera and was now playing with it saying "Alright, the focus is fixed, it should work for now until I can afford to get a new one." before noticing that Betty was at a hotdog stand. "Oh, hey Bettey."
"Peter, I see you got your camera fixed." Betty spoke saying hello and just having general smalltalk.
"Yup, it ain't perfect but it'll do for now until I can save up to get a new one, helping with the bills at home." Peter answered back about what he was doing. "Say Betty, you wouldn't happen to know any girls about my age that'd like to go to a dance at my school would you?"
"Hm.. well, there was this redhead that I went to school with." She'd answered back after thinking about it for a second. "She was one of the prettier girls at the school back when I was going."
"Oh?" Peter then questioned wanting to hear more about that as Betty put some mustard on her hotdog.
"Ya, her name's Mary Jane." She'd told him about the girl which made Peter wonder if it was the same Mary Jane but shook the thought from his head somehow doubting it. "I could ask if you like."
"That'd be great thanks." He'd then spoke thanking her and they'd then felt the ground shaking so they'd gone up to the Bugal Building.
Peter got onto the computer to check things out finding that those tremors were evenly matched realizing they were Shocker's trail of bread crumbs for him to go find them and found the next location before running off to go deal with that. We see Spider-Man swinging through the city and into an old abandoned theater that had long since been boarded up. We then see him decending down from the ceiling on his webbing while upside down and began to look around the place.
"O Shocker, Shocker, wherefore art thou Shocker? Deny thy boss and refuse thy path. Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my friend, and I'll no longer be thy enemy." Spider-Man then spoke calling out Shocker in badly quoted Shakespear lines changed to be applicable to the situation.
Shocket appeared behind him and blasted befor his spider-sense could go off sending him crahsing thorugh some of the seats and walks forwards saying "What man art thou that thus bescreen'd in night So stumblest on my counsel?"
Our webhead was holding his side and says "How about that, a supervillain with some class." before dodging around Shocker's attacks.
"Well, as they say All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players." Shocker responded continuing to blast at them.
"What'd I ever do to you anyway?" Spider-Man questioned while continuing to dodge as the place was being more and more damaged and he looks around mumbling to himself "This place is condemned.." before dodging another attack.
"It ain't nothing personal, just business I was hired to take you out and that's what I'm gonna do. Now stand still so I can blast you." Shocker responds continuing to blast at them.
"Sorry, they say to thine own self be true right, and myself doesn't like getting blasted to bits so.." He'd called back to the villain while continuing to dodge and hiding behind a pillar.
"Don't you mock me boy." Shocker called blasting at them some more breaking the part of the pillar that the web head was one and sending it flying.
"I Mock, I'm a Mocker." He'd responded and began to webbing up a couple of the pillars adding on "Also a puller a tugger a yanker." and then ripped them apart causing them to break and that created a domino effect with all the rest of them starting to break as well.
Shocker tried to get away but the exit was blocked and so he'd made a shield around himself to stop as much of the rubble as he could but it'd still collapsed on top of him.
Once that was over Spider-Man took a bow on stage saying "Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow, That I shall say good night till it be morrow. My necessaries are embark'd farewell. Adieu! And that my friend is the end of you."
We then cut to later with Shocker hanging from a web net without his costume and struggling to get free as Spider-Man had left a card there that said the same thing the last one did.
