Spider-Man: Spectacular Season 01 Episode 05
Spider-Man was swinging through the city and we see that something had cause the vents on the ground to blow out fire and smoke with a muffled explosive sound and we see that it was Marko and O'Hirn again as they were running out of a blown out wall talking to one another.
"I'm loving there's no wall crawler down here to cramp our style." O'Hirn tells his partner as they were hauling large bags of cash.
"Didn't know you had any style." we hear a voice saying as Spider-Man decends down hanging upside down from his webbing from one of the entrance areas up above them.
"Oh, not again." O'Hirn complains as Spider-Man webbed the two up leaving them for the cops to deal with again.
We then cut to later as Peter was messing around in his room using his webbing and had tripped over one of the empty cans that he'd been stacking falling onto the floor and taking the cans with him and Aunt May calls "Peter, are you in there?"
"Uh, Just a sec Aunt May, I gotta clean up a bit." and we here the sound of webbing though it seemed that May hadn't noticed it and Peter opened the door for her.
"My goodness, you really did clean up. Where's the clutter, under the bed again?" She'd teased looking under there only to find it empty too aside from an old photo album but that was really it.
"C'mon Aunt May, I'm not five anymore. I don't have to resort to tricks." Peter responds while looking up and we see that he'd actually just webbed everything to the cieling.
"Well I'm impressed, not just with your room but everything you've done to help." She'd responded as a flyer had falling and Peter grabbed it just as Aunt May was turning around and she'd been curious about that asking "What's this?"
"Oh, uh, it's just a flyer for the fall formal. Nothing important really." He'd answered back letting her see it.
"Why, don't you ask Anna Watson's niece Mary Jane to go with you?" May then suggested to him, which Peter shuddered at when she couldn't see him.
"Let me think on that, right now I gotta get to school." Peter then stated heading off to avoid the topic and went out the front door.
Later on at school they were sitting at the table with Gwen and Harry and they hear the intercoms going off with the voice of the coach saying "Attention students due to the injury of our starting tight end and our backup having academic suspension we'll be holding three day tryouts for the position."
"I'm so there." Harry spoke saying that he'd intended to try out for the team with the other two looking at him concerned.
"Uh, Harry, you're not exactly the football type. The term major breakage comes to mind." Gwen stated in response to Harry's idea.
"Dude, you seen the size of those guys Harry?" Peter then added on when she'd left off pointing out the size difference between them.
"How about a little moral support here, you could try out with me." Harry then stated elbowing Peter.
"Well, if it's just for moral support." Peter answered back saying he'd do it but didn't intend to join the team.
We then see the two trying out with Harry managing to catch the throw and see him running as Kenny stuck his foot out, but harry jumped over it and kept going having anticipated that apparently. Peter had also managed to do fairly well with his spider-sense going off and he'd managed to jump forwards to dodge Kenny as he was trying to tackle him continuing to score a touchdown getting to the field goal.
We then cut to later as Spider-Man was messing around with a football saying "Hope Harry manages to get on the team, I gotta tell the coach I don't actually wanna join." while throwing the ball into the air and catching it before hearing an alarm and going to check it out.
He'd jumped down finding out who had hit the place and says "Marko, seriously? Where's your partner O'Hirn?"
"Don't think I need a partner for this job." Marko stated as the spider-sense went off though he'd punched Spider-Man with his arm changing into sand before he could react and then followed up with a kick that did the same.
"What just happened?" Spider-Man questioned shaking his head clear from not expecting to be hit like that.
"I happened, Sandman happened." Marko responded now calling himself Sandman instead and made his hand into a hammer swinging it at him while Spider-Man dodged back out of the way.
"That's so wrong." the wallcrawler responded and went to web at him only to find out that his webbing had been empty. "No no no no, bad time to run out of web flu-ID!" being slammed into a wall as he'd said the last part.
"The big man did this to me, to get to you." Sandman stated turning his whole body into a fist and tried to attack though Spider-Man dodged out of the way.
"Alright, I'll bite. Who's the big man?" Spider-Man questions landing on a truck to avoid the attacks of Marko.
"That's need to know, and you don't need to know. I'd love to stay and chat but I got banks to Rob." Marko tells him turning into sand and flowing into a train to escape.
We then cut to the next day and Peter was looking at the photo on the newspaper that says Spider-Man vs Sandman on it looking frustrated, and we hear a girl sayin "Hey Petey." which he turns to seeing Liz.
"Oh hey Liz." Peter responded folding the newspaper and putting it back into his locket as he did so.
"You had some nice moves out there, I heard it was down to you Harry, and Hobie Brown." Liz spoke telling him that the coach had narrowed it down to three people already and then whispered in his ear "Good luck."
We then see the remainder of the tryouts with Hobie doing well, along with Harry doing good too avoiding a tackle from Kenny and managing to make it to the end of the field. Peter had been talking with the coach about something as this was going on, and then it was his turn. He'd managed to catch the ball and jump rolling over Kenny and making his way to the end of the field. Peter's spider-sense went off and he'd moved forewards just as the football players tried to dog pile him, and we see him leaning against the field goal spinning the football on his index finger.
We then cut to the Coach talking at the end of tryouts and he says "Alright listen up. Since Parker has stated he only tried out because a friend asked him to and doesn't actually wanna join, I'm leaning towards Osborn as our new starter, and Brown as the second string. Tomorrow will be the final tryout to see who leads."
We then see Harry talking to Peter later saying "I can't believe you told Coach you didn't wanna play." while they were walking together.
"Hey you asked me to try out for moral support, not to actually join the team." Peter then reminded him.
They hear a voice calling to get their attention and "We're headed over to the Silver Spoon, you coming?" Randy spoke asking if they wanted to join them.
"Uh, rain check. I gotta go deal with some things." Peter answered though Harry seemed all for it and went with.
Peter had chased after Gwen and gotten onto the bus to ride with asking "Feel like talking to me again after quitting?"
"I suppose, it'd take too long to train anyone else anyway." She'd answered back finally talking to him again. "So, you find a date for the dance?"
"I'm hoping, though if not I probably won't go. Asked one of my co-workers if they'd known any girls around my age." Peter answered back in response saying that he's not sure if he's got a date or not. "What about you?"
They'd heard screeching and saw a truck driving past with it hitting the bus and they'd had to evacuate, Peter then checked his phone and pretended to have to head off for his job and we see Spider-Man now swinging after armored truck and landed on top of it calling out "MARKO!" aloud.
The Sandman had made his hand into a spike and stabbed into the top of the cab calling "POLO!" then continued to stab into it.
Spider-Man then swung through the window kicking him over to the passenger side punching him in the face though Sandman grabbed his fist saying "If I'm over here, then who's driving?" while the vehicle got off course crashing through a gate and down into a contstruction site while Spider-man was thrown from the vehicle skidding across the ground.
The workers helped Spider-Man up and his spider-sense went off and so he'd pushed them out of the way just as a mass of sand knocked him into one of the beams. Spider-Man then jumped to the side of the building under construction. "Y'know I didn't plan on coming after you, but you just had to be a thorn in my side regardless." Flint states to them.
Spider-Man says "It's what I do." then takes one of the beams and slamms it down onto him, though they'd regenerated as Spider-Man had grabbed at his sides in pain and looked up as Sandman then slams him into some construction equipment.
"I can keep this up all night, can you?" Sandman says as Spider-Man looked around finding something he could use and began to swing after it with Marko following him. "It was easy when you were the only one with powers, but now King Sandman reigns supreme." he'd stated using the sand to knock Spider-Man down under one of the construction vehicles.
"Well then.." Spider-Man responds webbing up part of the vehicle and begins pulling before continuing to say "Let me build a statue in your honor." before ripping the piece off and making quick drying cement cover Sandman allowing Spider-Man to free himself as Sandman hardened into a statue of caked on cement. "Michelangelo eat your heart out." he'd then stated before lifting up his mask and began to spit out sand from the battle.
We then see that Peter had gone to watch the finals of the tryouts since he still wanted to support his friend watching from the bleachers as Harry had done great by himself and managed to do great on the field. The coach had blown the whistle and called to get their attention. "Harry Osborn is our new starter, Holbie Brown, you're the new backup."
Peter had cheered for the but something had caused him pains in his sides again before he could go and congratulate them and he'd gone to hide under the bleachers pulling up his shirt and costume to look at his sides as they'd appeared to be bruised but the pain stopped so he went off to congratulate his friend.
