Just pointing out the update of the previous chapter on Shifu's POV, I am so sorry for the glitch with the coding and all the edits. I was just having some problems but I hope that's behind us!
This next POV Story will be on Monkey. Actually, young Monkey.
I get the whole Secrets of the Scroll thing that said that Oogway was technically Monkey's first master, but I consider that non Canon so in this fic we'll see Shifu and Monkey interact.
I like doing their relationship, so I hope you enjoy reading this!
*I do not own kfp.*

Monkey's POV:
Trust is Earned.

"Now, now, my young pupil," I felt Master Shifu's arm brush over mine, signifying that I should follow him on how to do the right Tai Chi move. "You are doing it incorrectly."

I was frustrated with the stupid Tai Chi practice. I can't get this! I have always been somewhat stubborn in training, ever since I had been obviously unable to complete my master's training in the Shaolin art.
"I don't like this!" I exclaimed, being all mad and things (which is obviously not great for the peaceful Tai Chi forms) "Tai Chi is stupid!"

"Patience," Master Shifu warned. "Calm yourself. Let us try again."

Master Shifu's meaningful blue gaze pierced into mine, and stopped me from saying something else that I may regret. Thank goodness for Master Shifu, otherwise I may have blundered and destroyed the entire Dragon Grotto with my anger.
I let out a very meaningful and loud sigh-catching a sidelong glance from my master-before returning to my position, where Master Shifu's arm was brushed below mine. I watched and followed as he did the move, effortlessly and fluidly. Mine-however- were sloppy and uneven.

"Master Shifu, this is impossible!"

"No, it is not." Master Shifu said, with a sharp edge to his tone. I could almost feel Master Shifu's patience growing thin."Listen," Master Shifu rested his hand meaningfully on my shoulder and stared into my gaze. "Do you hear that?"

"What are you talking about, Master?" Now I was genuinely curious. What was he hearing? Or was this supposed to be the thing that I can't really hear but only he can as some "crazy shaolin thing."

"Ah, now you are interested, I see." Master Shifu spoke, and I tilted my head quizzically. "Tell me, what interests you?"

"Not Tai Chi." I retorted, but Master Shifu's sharp gaze made me restate my answer. Master Shifu had just been my master for a few days now, it was still kind of new to me, and so was he. He was a gentle and patient teacher, but me- a annoying student in the art of Tai Chi, wasn't helping with his patience level at the normal.

"I-I mean, I like interesting stories."

"All right," Master Shifu closed his eyes and sighed, as if my answer was the lamest answer he had ever heard. "I want you to close your eyes for a moment, and get in the earlier position."

I nodded to my teacher and obeyed his commands.

"Good," Master Shifu spoke, his arm on top of mine to instruct me. "Now I want you to imagine that you're sitting down and about to read a story just now." Master Shifu's arm moved, and I followed in the direction like we were doing earlier. "Imagine that, and follow the movements with me all the way through."
I did as my master suggested in the beginning part, following along the movements. I was thinking I was doing so well, so I opened my eyes and tried to do it that way. Of course Master Shifu had told me to close my eyes and think of...interesting stories...but honestly, I was just stubborn, thinking that I could do it without using my teacher's metaphorical practice.

But I was a fool.

Master Shifu's gaze then flickered as he stared at me. "Monkey," Master Shifu said. "You do not trust my teaching?"

I stared at the ground. What? "I-I wanted to do it, Master." I said. "I felt I could."

"And this way will help you," Master Shifu sharply rebuked. I braced myself for another harsh saying, but I was surprised when Master Shifu's tone softened. "I..understand you don't know and trust me fully yet," He said, and his gaze softly met mine. "But I would never do anything to put you in danger, or wrong you, understand?"
I let out a soft nod.
"Trust is earned, my student." Master Shifu spoke. "And I hope in time you can come to trust me." Master Shifu flicked his ear and gently dipped his head. "As your master, I only want the best for you."

I stared at my master's blue gaze for a moment before speaking. " I do trust you, Master."

"It will take time," Master Shifu said. "Like I said, trust is earned."

Trust is earned? I mean, that makes sense but I trust my teacher already. I know his skill is phenomenal and without limits. I know I'm nothing more than a student.
...but what could he be referring to?

The long journey in the Shaolin?

At this point, I didn't exactly understand. I was a fool. I was stubborn and headstrong, as most students are at my rank and age. But now, as I look back at my life and ponder how much my teacher-student relationship had changed over all these years, I realize that it takes time to trust someone. It's hard to trust someone you don't know.
In that case, now I finally understand what my master meant...

Trust is earned over time, regardless of what you may think now.
After all, aren't we all just stubborn students at times?

XD how inspirational! Lol
If you're a fan of Monkey I hope you liked this. Shifu was really soft in this fic (as I like him) and it was nice to see his patient side.

...now YOU try teaching Tai Chi to Monkey! XD

Please leave a review! I appreciate it!
