"Oh, you're here." she said as she entered the room.
She seemed very disappointed to see me in the room!
Just a few more days, and she wouldn't have me in her life anyway!
"I just came," I said.
"Oh," she said.
"I can go if you want," I said.
"No... It's fine... I just wanted to be alone for some time..." she said.
"I can go." I said.
"Ummm... Edward..." she said when I was about to open the door, "Can I ask you a question?"
"Yeah," I said.
"Ummm... Are you sure that... you slept with her?" she asked.
What?
"What... What do you mean?" I asked, "What kind of question is this?"
Wasn't that the crux of the whole problem?
What the fuck was going on?
"I just want to know... If you really slept with her..." she said.
"Bella... what...? I... I did. Isn't that the whole point? What do you mean by this question?" I asked.
"But you said you don't recall anything?" she said.
"Bella... I was so drunk! I You know I'm capable of doing extremely stupid things when I'm drunk like that! I've done stupid things in the past when I was drunk and I don't recall a single thing from it. Like, I once slept on top of a car for the whole night, and I don't recall how I even reached there. On another occasion, I sent an email to my professor telling he was the stupidest person in the whole world and even my dog was smarter than him! Thank God he laughed it off!"
She rubbed her face.
"But... I know I should have been more responsible. I shouldn't have gotten drunk like that. I should have realized that I wasn't in college anymore! I should have thought about you and girls. I'm really, really sorry!"
She didn't say anything, and continued to rub her forehead.
"Bella, what's going on?" I said.
"Nothing." she said.
"But now that you're asking this question, I guess you do realize that there were no feelings involved?" I said.
Suddenly I had a new wave of hope all over!
Maybe she would give me one more chance?
"Ask me as many questions as you want. I promise I will answer everything." I said, "Please believe me! There were no feelings involved! I don't even remember anything!"
"Ummm... I don't have any questions..." she said, "For now."
