Spider-Man: Spectacular Season 02 Episode 02
Peter had burst through the door and says "Did I miss it?" noticing the tv was turned off and began to turn it on flipping through channels saying "I can't believe you don't have it on. I wanna see what the Plumbers have to say about that thing."
"Oh Peter, you always were into such things." Aunt May laughed while mixing a bowl of something as she'd walked back into the kitchen.
"I wanna know if the Plumbers are quarenteening it or if they'll let it be studdied by earth scientists." He'd stated to her as the news guy on the television began to speak about what they'd found.
"The Plumbers have stated that it is currently not a species within their ALDB, but plan to update soon once they dscover just what that stuff is and have agreed that the top bio geneticis of earth Doctor Curtis Connors may study it at his lab at Empire State University." The guy on tv had stated to them about that showing the cannister being moved into the lab as Eddie was holding the door. "Only Plumbers and lab staff will be allowed to have access."
"YES!" He'd cheered and began to call up Eddie. "Yo, I'm curious to see that thing. I know Peter isn't allowed but they did say Plumbers were welcome to check it out." Peter stated moving farther away so that May couldn't hear that last part as he'd semi whispered it into the phone.
"It's pretty great Doctor C's been kinda in a rut from everything that's happend with the whole Lizard and then Man-Spider thing. But he's actually started taking an interest again, Plumbers gotta file a visitation pass." Eddie spoke as Gwen had been checking out the ooze seeing it moving around.
Peter had done so getting approved to check out the ooze and so Spider-Man had waited for the right time and went to check it out though Martha had already locked the place up for the night. "We're supposed to wait for Spider-Man." Gwen reminded them about that though it was too late to do anything.
"That's okay I'll head in the same way I cam last time." Spider-Man called telling them he'd just go in to check it out thorugh the skylight as he'd gestured upwards before heading on up and over and discovered someone was already inside. "Now who is that I wonder."
The thief had gotten the container open and holds up a glass canister saying "Come to Kitty." though the cannister was webbed and pulled from her hand.
"Well never thought I'd be saving the black ooze from the beautiful damsel." Spider-man stated stated as he'd caught the cannister.
"Meow, I do believe it's Spider-Man." The burgular spoke zipping back over to the spider themed hero turning so they'd be face to face.
"Easy there cat lady, I don't wanna fight." The webslinger told her saying that he doesn't wanna have to make things rough.
"The name's Black Cat, and cat's don't fight spiders." She'd told him putting one of her clawed fingers under his chin before kicking him and making Spider-Man drop the cannister. "We just bat them around for fun."
The two began to fight against one another and she'd tried to claw at him hititng the wall instead with Spider-Man then webbing her hand to the wall. "You better not get your goop in my hair."
"Don't worry you can remove it with ice or peanutbutter." Spider-Man then throws back about the line about her hair.
"You sure you don't want in on this gig Spider-Man we can split the take." Black Cat stated to him though he didn't seem interested.
"Gig, take, these words are strange to me." He'd joked pretending not to know what she was talking about.
"A very wealthy man wants this stuff and is paying an indecent amount of cash for it I can cut you in on the deal, how about it you want a peace of the Mud Pie?" She'd questioned him though he still wasn't interested.
"Can't I'm a Plumber after all, and if I turned to crime well, I'd have to turn in my discount card." Spider-Man then joked about the idea.
"Shame, I kinda like us together." The cat themed burgular then stated going to attack him.
"Whoa, we just met and I'm not that kind of spider." The webslinger called back though she'd swung at him and kicked him in the head knocking him down off the wall.
"Give a girl a chance, and I'll be glad to make you that kind of spider." She'd then taunted as unbeknownst to the two of them the ooze had been moving around the place on it's own and Spider-Man accidentally stepped onto it and it attached to his foot.
Ghost Spider had come in too saying "What's going on here?" seeing Spider-Man and Black Cat fighting against one another.
"Don't tell me you've got a girl already." Black Cat spoke being pouty about Ghost Spider showing up. "And here I thought we had something special." She'd then kicked Ghost Spider towards the container and moved back up her grappling line onto the roof.
"Spider-Man the ooze is gone." Ghost Spider called seeing that the container was empty and telling him what they'd seen.
"Cat must have taken it." He'd spoke going roofside and found that she'd been gone by the time that he'd gotten back up there.
He'd grabbed his camera and says "I still gotta pretend I'm taking pictures so Aunt May doesn't wonder where the extra money is coming from." explaining it to Ghost Spider.
The next day they'd had a title about Spider-Man and a cat theif stealing the ooze from the lab and Gwen had been back there with her dad questioning Curt about Spider-Man and the thief.
"Spider-Man wouldn't steal that thing, I mean he's a Plumber there's no reason for him to have done so." Eddie states sitting beside Gwen.
We then cut to Peter storming into Jameson's office and says "You gotta Print a Retraction right now!"
"Let's get this straight I don't HAVE to do saything." Jameson then stated to Peter stating he didn't need to do that.
"Oh yes you do, Spider-Man was trying to stop them last night. You've printed a lie and they aren't gonna like that." He'd told Jameson in response.
"And who exactly gave him the authority to do that huh?" Jameson then demanded from them not believing that Spider-Man was any sort of hero.
"The plumbers did Jonah, I just got off the phone with High Magister Maxwell Tennyson of the Earth Branch and we're in a lot of hot water we could be shut down if we don't print a retraction immediately. Spider-Man had filed all legal paperwork to be there last night." Robbie told them saying they had no choice in the matter now.
Ol' J.J.J. looked like he was ready to pop a blood vessle and began shaking before letting out a frustrated scream and says "FINE! Robbie print a retraction say the actual thief got away when Spider-Man tried to stop them." he'd stated still finding a way to twist it so that Spider-Man still looked bad but to no longer call him a theif. "NOW! GET! OUT! OF! MY! OFFICE!"
Later on Spider-Man had been swinging through the air and says "Alright let's see, the burgular got away and the ooze vanished. But I know I didn't take it so obviously it had to have been Cat right?" trying to think of how she'd managed to take it.
As he was swinging through the air the ooze he'd unknowingly stepped on had began to move up the leg of his costume and began to cover it entirely until the whole thing was black while Spider-man's webs had also turned black. He'd landed on top of a building to stop and consider what he should be doing next.
"Ooh, that's a good look for you." Black Cat spoke dropping down beside him. "I knew I could get you to come around."
"You, you're the one that stole.. the.. ooze?" He'd spoken aiming to use his webs but realized that his costume had become mostly black with a white colored web design.
He'd dropped down and used a web to angle upside down to see himself in the polished mirrorlike windows below. "I've been looking for you, I know I don't like being blamed for Crimes I didn't commit. Or well any crimes for that matter, so the frameup must have really annoyed an ex primary color guy like you."
"You didn't steal the ooze, did you?" Spider-Man questions as Cat dropped down next to him and began to swing circles around him.
"You know I didn't short dark and handsome, you were there. Maybe your little girlfriend took it." Black Cat then responded back about that whole situation.
"She's not my girlfriend." He'd responded annoyed hearing that. "She's a friend I've known all my life but that's all she is."
"Well now, that's good news for me. But if you're fed up with the thankless hero job well.." She'd teased moving her clawed glove from the base of his mask up towards his chin.
"It's not thankless, I'm a Plumber now." Spider-Man then told her moving Black Cat's hand away.
"Oh, and what does that pay?" She'd then asked curious about his new little badge gig that he's got going on.
"Six hundred Taydens every two weeker or so for an Agent." He'd answered back which she'd just looked confused by.
"And how much is that in cash?" Black Cat then questioned him wondeirng what the tranfer rate was on something like that.
Spider-Man then moved leaning forwards next to her ear and says something that we are unable to hear but it'd surprised her though he'd quickly let go of the webline dropping down and says "So that answers where the Ooze went." to himself and began to swing off. There had been a plane that flew past and it'd hit a building making the pilot hit their head against the window and knocking them out.
"No, Eddie and I lost our parents to a plane like that. I'm not letting it happen again." Spider-Man says and jumped onto the plane surprised he made it "Okay this ooze is clearly enhancing my powers, no time for that now though." he'd stated before then forcing the wing rutter to make the plane stabilize and fly towards Central Park.
He'd broken the thing and made it so the plane would crash in an unpopulated area grabbing the pilot and jumping out of the way webbing to the closest building and swinging off. He'd been helping everyone out and made a call to the main base using his Plumber's Badge to explain the situation.
"Alright, for now hold onto it, we'll tell Connors it's an experiment to help see just how this thing functions when attached to another living organism." Ben Tennyson spoke over the communications.
"Thanks. I feel better knowing it's not actually stolen." Spider-man spoke from where he'd been sitting looking over the lab.
Spider-Man later jumped down where he wouldn't be seen and the costume hid itself in his street clothes which surprised him and he says "Well, a guy could get used to this." Walking in and catching Aunt May as she'd fallen backwards.
"Oh I'm sorry Peter i didn't mean to frighten you. I've been testing out new recipes and must have passed out from the heat." She'd spoken getting up slowly and Peter began helping her get out of the kitchen.
"Come on, let's get you to bed now." Peter tells her using the ooze to turn off the stove and click off the light without her noticing and then helped her get off to bed.
The Next day Flash was telling the other students to stop while one of the cheerleaders, Sally, was making fun of him and the other students were lauging at him. Peter walked over to see waht was going on with Flash saying "Stop it already that guy is not the real Spider-Man!"
"What about the real Spider-Man?" Peter questions wondering what exactly they had to say about him.
Sally hands him a paper saying "Flash is just mad because his hero decided to show their true colors last night and robbed a bank."
"That's NOT the real Spider-Man. Anyone can put on a costume that doesn't make them the real one, Puny Parker wore one last week." Flash pointed out getting mad that no one was listening to him.
"And Can Puny Parker stick to walls and fire webbing?" Sally then questioned them however Peter had then turned back towards them.
"Actually, Flash is right. The Costume is the old one Spider-Man used to wear before he became a Plumber, that suit was retired. His new one is mostly red and black with white wrists and waist, and look here those aren't Spider-Man's web shooters. Those are wrist mounted ropes not webbing. It's something that was used a long time ago, except the old version used to have a blade attached to it." Peter then stated to them making the group take a second look at the picture and realizing he was right.
"See, I told you that the real Spider-Man wouldn't do something like that." Flash then gloated slapping Peter on the back before adding on "Well I guess being a nerd finally paid off for you."
We then see later at the Bugal that Jameson was having a field day. "Let's see the Plumber get the menace out of this." he'd called as Robbie came in.
"Uh J.J. the Plumbers called, Spider-Man had a badge that's keed to his bio-signature it registered being on him halfway across town during the time of the robery. We need to retract the previous one and print that this other one is a fake, they've got evidence proving he's not the real one." Robbie stated to Jamesion as he'd gotten mad hearing that.
Jameson got mad and began twitching in irritation before just slamming his head against the desk and sighs lifting up his arm and twirling his finger saying "Run it." He then let his arm drop down just giving up on the whole thing.
Later on Spider-Man and Ghost Spider were swinging through the city and Black Cat calls out to get their attention "Hey, Crime Spree! I was hopeing you'd swing this way again. Out on a date?" She'd called out to the two of them as they'd come over.
Gost Spider made a disgusted sound putting her hands up while turning her head to the side and says "Uh, no. He's one of my best friends but nothing more than that."
"I explained that to her last time we came into contact." Spider-Man stated also being annoyed by the teasing.
"Oh lighten up you two, I'm just teasing." She'd told the two of them from where she was sitting on the sculpture that was resting on the building. "Still that faker should learn Black is the new Red and blue."
"I'd turn him black and blue if I knew where to find him." Spider-man told the two of them hitting his hand in frustration.
"Well as it just so happens." Cat then told the two of them as she'd jumped down from the building gestureing for them to follow.
The two did just that and followed after Black Cat as she'd used her graples and ziplines to get safelty across the city while the other two used their webbing and ability to cling to walls. The three of them had stopped when they'd gotten to a place that had a yatch that had a bunch of people getting on.
"How do you know it's here?" Ghost Spider questions looking at everyone down below wanting to know what made her so sure.
"I think like a theif honey, a boat filled with a bunch of overstuffed fat cats is a can't miss opportunity." Cat then stated to the two of them. She'd used a speedboat that was black in color to get them up to the boat.
The two spider themed heroes jumped onto the boat and climbed their way up finding one of the cops guarding it was unconscious. "Looks like your theif girlfriend was right." Ghost Spider teased as they'd climbed on board.
"Don't you start too." Spider-Man protested in response as they'd began to go to find the knockoff causing trouble.
They hear someone calling "My insect early warning system's vibrating." and the two go inside seeing the fake kick Gwen's dad former detective, and now currently police captain George Stacy into a window and they then say "That's spider strength think I can fake that?" however a web sticks to the retracting coil in the bottom of his shoe and the guy gets pulled upside down.
"Actually yes consdering you used a spring in your heel instead of actual spider strength." Ghost Spider spoke flicking the spring after having gotten them up there.
"Seriously Jack, insect early warning system's vibrating? Not a single word of that statement was correct." Spider-Man then added on to that.
"Who are you?" The faker questioned wanting to know who the two of them were.
"Me, I'm the real Spider-Man." He'd answered back and jumped down grabbing the bags and setting them onto the table. "Alright you can all come and get your stuff back."
"Oh please you aren't even in the right costume." The faker then stated to them getting annoyed trying to snap the webbing though Ghost Spider simply let go allowing them to drop to the floor since it wouldn't be a fatal fall anyway.
"I'm in mourning for my burried rep, still more accurate than yours is. Besides I got something that proves I'm the real Spider-Man." The webslinger stated while the faker was getting up.
"And what exactly is that?" They questioned asking just how he could prove that he was the real one.
"I got a Plumber Badge keyed to my bio signature. Fakes can't use it without a painful Shock." He'd stated holding up his badge to prove he was the real deal.
One of the guys that was there dropped something and created a smokescreen however both Ghost Spider and Spider-Man were able to web up the exits to keep them from getting away and quickly webbed up those guys.
"Let's unmask this faker shall we?" Spider-Man then spoke picking up the fake and pulling their mask off revealing a face that was blank of features except for the eyes and mouth.
"No wonder they wore the mask, that guy is Ugg-oh-ly." Ghost Spider spoke as Spider-Man dropped the guy to the floor and did a facial recognition on the three using his badge.
"Says that guy is called the Cameleon, the other two are just a couple of nobodies." Spider-Man stated to them as the cops began to wake up and found out what'd been going on and arresting the other two while Spider-Man arrested the Chameleon himself saying "I've always wanted to actually be able to arrest someone since I was a kid. Let's hope I don't have to do it again, I don't like it."
"You did fine Spider-man. Don't worry too much about it, now if only we can find out what happened to the Stuyvesant Tiger." Captain Stacy stated to him and Ghost Spider in response.
"I think I've got an idea what happened." Spider-Man then sighed in response to what he'd said and went off to find out.
We then cut to Black Cat laying across the statue that she'd been sitting on earlier looking at the necklace and says "Kitty likes." kissing the pendant with a smirk.
"Shame I gotta confenscate it." Spider-Man spoke appearing above her and had dangled from his web while upside down.
"You really know how to ruin a girls fun, but if I can't have the tiger then I'll just have to take something else as a souvineer." Black Cat then stated to him letting Spider-Man take the necklace and pulled down his mask giving him a kiss before jumping off the building turning back and speaks loudly so he could hear saying "Call me sometime." as she put her thumb and pinkie up to her head pretending to be on a phone so he'd get the message.
