Spider-Man: Spectacular Season 02 Episode 06
Spider-Man had been swinging around the city thinking about everything that happened the past few days and landed on a rooftop ledge considering everything when he'd been attacked by Venom. He'd thrown them into a brick chimnie in response though they stood quickly and pulled back the mask revealing Eddie rebonded to them.
"C'mon Bro, join us." they'd called sending a bunch of tendrils at him making the ooze start to cover Spider-Man's body while he struggled to get free falling over the edge of the the building as he'd done so.
They'd fallen to the ground and then Peter hit the floor of his room with a thud with his blanket tangled around him. He'd then sat up and was relieved that it was just a nightmare. He'd decided it was best to check up on Eddie and went to the window of the dorm not finding him there. "Looks like Eddie grabbed everything but his roommate and bailed, hope Connors knows where he went."
Spider-Man had then gone to the lab where Curt and Martha were working on something that appeared to be alien in origins. "Hello Peter." Martha called waving to Spider-Man as he'd come down to eye level with them.
"What can we do for you?" Curt then questions looking up from what he was working on to say hello to Spider-Man as well.
"You guys have any idea what happened to Eddie? His dorm was cleared out." Spider-Man questions the two of them about why he was there.
"He said he needed some time to clear his head and get away from everything for awhile, beyond that we have no idea." Martha answered back and Spider-Man nodded hearing that.
"I see.. Thanks, so what's the latest project?" The wallcrawler spoke thanking them for the information about Eddie before asking what they were doing.
"The Plumbers asked us to retrofit the Galvan healing Pod to better fit human phisyology." Curt answered about what they were doing no. "Don't worry, I've learned my lesson. Only DNA I'm working with from now on is Strictly Human."
Spider-Man let out a laugh and then headed off, we then cut to him back at the house getting changed into his normal clothes talking to himself as he says "Thank you Plumber's suit for the built in thermals." before heading downstairs.
Aunt May had finished making breakfast saying "Good Morning Peter." and sees the worry on his face about her doing so much "Oh don't give me that look. The doctor said light work is fine." and he'd given a defeated sigh in response.
Later on in the day Peter had went over to where Gwen was talking to Mary Jane and another girl with MJ pulling the girl away so Gwen and Peter could talk. "Martha told me Eddie chose to leave town for awhile." She'd stated to him.
"That's what they told me too, I went over to his dorm and everything was gone." Peter answered back about the situation.
Before they could discuss it more the bell for class had rung and so they had to deal with that headache. Well later on after class Peter was at his locker putting some things away when Liz came over calling out to him asking "Petey, this Biology final is gonna destroy my GPA and I really need you to tutor me again to help. Pelase?"
"Ya Liz, sure I'll help." Peter answered back telling her that he'd help. "I gotta run some errands first but I'll swing by the usual place later to help you study."
We then see him heading off going towards the roof again with Liz trying to follow, and gain he'd vanished by the time she'd gotten up there looking around confused and letting out a frustrated growl about loosing him again.
We then see some jackass in a green outfit with purple cape and fishbowl on his head snapping his fingers making a serpentine dragon vanish in a puff of green spoke and hear a voice calling "Wow." as they turn towards the voice and see Spider-Man calling "Nice trick bubble brain, I bet the cheesy magician act really goes over great with the tourists."
"You dare call Mysterio a Magician? Fool! Mysterio is no illusionist playing parlor tricks, Mysteiro is a master of the Archane Arts!" They called revealing their name as Mysterio as they'd created green smoke and lightning above them to emphasize his point.
Spider-Man however, just sits there and starts to laugh at him calling "No, Charmcaster, Spellbinder, Gwen Tennyson, Hex, THESE are Masters of the Archane Arts, you're just some guy playing pretend. Honestly it seems more like Mysterio is master of referring to himself in the third person if you ask me."
"We shall see." Mysterio spoke before calling out some weird chant as Spider-Man just stood there looking at him like he was stupid.
"Wow, this guy's a real class act isn't he?" Ghost Spider questioned landing on top of the armored car that Mysteiro had been attempting to rob earlier.
"Sorry but your fakes won't work on Spiders, we're ready for any kind of illusions you can throw at us." Spider-Man then stated to Mysteiro who'd let out a frustrated growl about them not falling at his chant.
"You seem to be stronger willed than I anticipted." Mysteiro spoke to the two of them in a tone that showed he was impressed they didn't fall for his magic.
"Ya well, when you've seen REAL Magic, you tend to not fall for the smoke and mirrors variety." Spider-Man then stated to them still referring to Mysteiro as nothing but a parlor magician.
"Perhaps another time then." Mysteiro called vanishing in a puff of green smoke deciding it best to avoid the two for now.
"Well, since fishbowl is gone I gotta get back. Got another study date with a pretty girl." Stated Spider-Man as he'd began to head off again.
We then cut to Peter with Liz helping her with the studying while they were talking about Mysterio in the paper and Peter says "I can't believe that guy thought they could use tricks to fool M-ub d.. uh Spider-Man. Can't believe he thought he could fool Spider-Man." He'd spoken and almost had a slip of the tongue just barly catching what he was saying in time and correcting himself.
"You sound like Flash Petey. What makes you think Spider-Man wouldn't be foold by this guy exactly?" Liz questions asking how he'd been so sure and mentioning that Flash would have said something like that too.
"Oh uh, I was at one of the banks that was robbed that Spider-Man stopped. He mentioned a spider sense and dodged an oncoming attack. I think he has something in his brain that warns him of oncoming attacks or something." Peter answered back with a quick cover story to explain it to Liz.
"If that's the case howcome he still gets hit?" She then questions next wanting to hear Peter's answer about that.
"I think it only warns him of danger and he has to have time to find and react to it. Supervillains are a lot faster at attacking than normal crooks so that may be why." Peter answered back, which y'know wasn't a lie exactly. "We're getting off topic, study time."
Peter then began to help Liz study and gave her a mock quiz to see what she did and didn't know about the subject. Meanwhile Ghost Spider had found Mysterio at Oscorp doing more of their tricks and calls out "Hey, is this a private show, or can anyone join the audience?"
"You, you're the other one that works with Spider-Man." Mysteiro called seeing Ghost Spider there and tried to see if Spider-Man was there too.
"Just you and me for now Fishbowl. The Amazing Ghost Spider at your service." She'd called taking a bow in response to what he'd said and what he'd been doing.
Mysterio began to spout some jibberish and caused his cape and himself to turn into purple batlike creatures that began to swarm and attack Ghost Spider cutting part of her costume and then one bit her leg. They'd continued swarming lifting her up into the air making it harder to fight them off.
"GET OFF OF ME YOU LITTLE GREMLINS!" She'd yelled out webbing a bunch of them and swinging her arms around making them smack into each other and vanish in green smoke and was dropped onto the ground. She'd yanked one over to her and snapped part of it reveling it was anamatronic and continued to fight them off.
Mysteiro chanted more nonsense and created green colored flames around himself while Ghost Spider webbed up all the gremlins together and went after Mysteiro as the little bat creature animatronics had been trying to get free.
"I know you're secret." Ghost Spider then called in a singsong voice before jumping at Mysteiro though some of those animantroincs had gotten free and grabbed her as she was about to web the guy up.
"Mind if I tag in?" Spider-Man then called swinging down and kicking Mysterio off of the machine he was standing on as they went.
"Spider-Man, just in time." Ghost Spider called gald to see them and swung her arms together bashing the little Gremlin animatronics.
"Another time perhaps." Mysterio then called before spouting nonsense and then vanished in a puff of green spoke as did the little animatronics.
"I've got an idea, come on!" Ghost Spider then called jumping onto the machine Mysteiro put the green fire around as Spider-Man followed suit.
The two had been taken along with the machine to the hideout of Mysterio who'd gone to do something else not knowing they were there and it was revealed that it they were on a disguised hovercraft with crane which had been set down by now.
"Old Prop warehouse, figures this faker would use a place like this as a hideout." Spider-Man then stated with a sigh about where they currently were and they'd heard Mysterio calling things out and made one of the machines start up and shoot green electricity at them.
"Would you just shut up already, no one cares about your babbling, it's all parlor tricks anyway." Spider-Man called out getting annoyed that they wouldn't stop.
"I didn't think it was possible for someone to butcher a dead language as badly as you do!" Ghost Spider called out having been annoyed by him as well.
"Very well then, but what is real and what is fake?" Mysteiro called creating a ring of green fire around them with a tiger and a winged serpent both appearing in front of them. "Let's see you get out of this one."
"Only one way to handle this one." Spider-Man spoke creating a blondfold from his webbing and tying it around the eyes of his mask with Ghost Spider then doing the same.
The two stood side by side hearing the tiger but they didn't move, when their spider senses went off they'd doged a swinging pendulum giatine. The serpents were the next to attack and turned out to be fake, then there was a large animatronic teddybear which had been real and they worked to fight it off ripping off the bears limbs as they did so and thrown them into it's head causing the circuits to be damaged and shutting it down.
They continued dodging as the bear hit the ground and exploding with Spider-Man calling "Y'know I'm sure this is all very entertaining to those of us without blindfolds."
He and Ghost Spider then began dodging around darts being shot from tiki heads with them dmaging the heads on the other side as the latter says "Effective however, not so much." as they'd began webbing up the tikiheads and making them break because of the darts exploding inside their mouths.
"How about we put this showbiz on hold and finish this." Spider-Man then called as the two pulled off their blindfolds from their masks ready to kick Mysterio's butt.
"As you wish." Mysteiro then called creating a bunch of fakes of himself around them all of which had began talking at once. "Which one is the real one? We'll never tell."
"Ugh, let's just get this over with." Ghost Spider called as she and Spider-Man then began to fight off the various coppies and they'd noticed one of them was trying to leave. "Spidey, the curtain!" She'd called ripping off one of the fake's arms and smacking their torso into the air.
"Let's see the man behind the curtain!" Spider-Man called kicking the torso through the curtain that the other one went through.
The two of them then had appeared sticking to the left and right sides of the wall above the curtain. "Going somewhere?" Ghost Spider calls as Mysterio began to call out something but Spider-Man webbed the gauntlet.
"That's enough of that." He'd called pulling the glove away and seen eletronic circuits in the palm. "Built in remote control, how fun." He'd then used the controls to make the robots grab the real Mysterio.
"Let's see who's behind this fishbolw." Ghost Spider spoke taking the helmet off of Mysterio and.. had no idea who this way. "Uh.. do you recognize this guy?"
"Not in the slightest." Spider-Man answered back angering Mysteiro that they didn't remember who he was.
"I was the Chamelon's right hand man, the waiter on the boat.." Mysterio then stated to them annoyed that they didn't remember him.
"Sure sure, whatever you say. Doesn't matter now you're going back to prison now anyway." Spider-Man then stated in response.
Well the next day Peter was up and getting ready to head out with Aunt May calling "You have something in the mail." handing him a letter.
Peter opens it and says "It's an exclusive freelance contract from my job, along with an advance. Nice." He'd stated before his phone began to ring but surprisingly it was Norman Osborn calling him. "Uh, hello Mr. Osborn." He'd spoken into the phone.
"Peter, good news I've been considering some students from your school for a mentorship and going through all the academics you stand out the most, so I'm offering the deal to you." Norman then stated to Peter about what was going on.
"Oh uh, I don't really know what to say." Peter answered back before thinking 'Except that you give me the creeps' but kept that to himself.
"Then you accept?" Norman questions over the phone hearing that Peter didn't know how to respond to that.
"Well, I can't really think of a reason not to." Peter answered back really wishing he could have thought of something to say no.
"Excelent, we'll start today. Come on over to Oscorp, we'll have breakfast, talk." Norman then told him which Peter didn't wanna do. "Big things are happening in your life Peter, doesn't pay to waste time."
"I guess I'll come over and have breakfast then." Peter answered back before hanging up and looking over at Aunt May saying "Guess I'll be heading to Oscorp for Breakfast."
