Asuka gets brushed off by Rei Ayanami at school. But while she sees it as odd, she does not take the refusal lying down – instead, she concocts a plan and executes it. Shinji is stalked by an entity that he can not truly comprehend. It taunts him by taking a very familiar form, but not all of the pain that it puts him through is not entirely bad. It's intentions are unknown, but Shinji can tell one thing about it. The aura it gives off is one of malicious intent. It is the predator and Shinji is the prey.

Following the events of End of Evangelion Shinji and Asuka must survive in the world left by the Third Impact.

This time Gendo Ikari gets a chance to right his wrongs, sent back from the third impact inside the brain of the Shinji we all know and love from episode 1. With a great father like Gendo to lean on this can only lead to positive growth for our hero. Not to mention with his foresight of the angels the fights are gonna be easier than ever right?, RIGHT?

Few get a second chance at living, let alone two or three. Rei Ayanami never knew what to do with the lives she had until it was too late. Getting another chance at living could mean a world of difference. After all, life is an ever changing thing and even the smallest of changes can reverberate across the world.

After their dual synchronization with Unit 02 proves to have lingering physiological and psychological consequences, Ikari Shinji and Asuka Langley Sōryū find themselves drawn together despite the flaws they see in one another. (A reboot of Defence in Depth.)

In the aftermath of the Third Impact, Shinji is glad to find Asuka laying on the beach. However, a few feet away, another Asuka washes up next to another Asuka next to another Asuka next to another Asuka next to another Asuka next to another Asuka…

Shinji was getting tired. The world had burned, but it hadn't. He had died but he was here. What would it take to break things enough to finally move on?

Sometimes death isn't the end but way to start a new beginning

The N 2 Mines are dropped before Unit 01 can burst out of the Dirac Sea which fatally injures Shinji. Though Asuka, Misato and Rei aren't given long to grieve as the ever cunning commander Ikari is quick to find a Fourth child to pilot UNIT-01. This new pilot bares eerie resemblance to Rei and shares Shinji's proficiency in synchronising with the ever picky UNIT-01.
