She finally stepped through her front door.

Coming home after weeks of working beneath the surface on this planet felt good. Not only is the hard work taking its toll on her body, but also the emotional roller-coaster she's going through right now.

They hadn't known who they were, is it possible to go back to how they were before? She sure as hell would try. Try to forget how he felt, his body beneath her fingers, his scent, his fingers caressing her body at all the right places. Fierce kisses and their moans while shattering apart in each other's arms.

As soon as her body hit her bed she fell into a restless sleep.

Jack got out of his car at the other end of the town, having made a quick stop to buy a pack of beer.

After placing his keys on the board next to the door, he headed straight to the basement, where he took his seat, opened a bottle, and switched on whatever game was on TV.

He knew sleep wouldn't come easy anyway, so why even bother trying.

His thoughts drifted towards his Major. No, not his 2IC. Sam, the woman. Thera, for who he was permitted to have feelings while he was Jonah.

How he was going to stash up his feelings for her, after catching a glimpse of what it was like to be with this woman, he doesn't know. But as sure as hell he would try. Try to forget how she squirmed beneath his fingers when they made love. Try to forget what sound she was capable of doing while he caressed her at all the right spots of her body.

Yes, he would try to forget all of this in terms of the greater good.

He couldn't risk a court martial, couldn't risk Sam's career. They are to valuable to the fight. He would retire in a heartbeat, for her.

He hoped that one day the Goa'uld would be defeated and their planet would no longer need constant saving. But, for now, he must be content with simply seeing her every day, watching her back on missions, and ensuring her safety.

General Hammond sat at his desk for a long time this evening, wondering what has happened to his officers that they aren't revealing. He knew about the Za'tarc incident. And even if he hadn't known, he was not blind. Something must have had happened on that planet regarding the tense atmosphere.

He only hoped it wouldn't split up his best team.

Saturday morning came and Sam didn't feel rested at all. She got up and jumped into her jogging gear. Taking a long run through the fresh air might do her some good. As she rang the bell at Janet's house and with Cassie jumping into her arms, she felt significantly better.

"Sam! Bless God you are back", the teenager shouted. "Where did you got stuck this time? Are you ok? Are the guys ok?"

"Hey Cassie. I'm fine. Glad to be back. Everyone is ok. We were detained to working as miners on an ice-age ridden planet. Our memories have been wiped out, or at least covered by false memories. It's all coming back, so we'll be ok." she told Cassandra. She attempted to give a smile to Janet as her friend walked into the room.

They played a few games of chess and catching up on the lost time while Janet made lunch. Afterwards, Cassie met with her friends while Sam and Janet relaxed in the backyard, basking in the warm rays of the sun.

Sam sighed heavily "The sun I probably missed the most!"

Janet glanced over at Sam's seat and noticed how pale and thin she had become.

"Wanna talk about it?" she asked.

"No. Not yet anyway."

"You know I can put you on medical leave if you need some more time to recover. It's been a tough few weeks for all of you. And although your bloodwork was ok I'm not really happy with it."

"What are you saying Janet?"

"Nothing Sam, just remember to take better care of yourself in the coming days," Janet advised Sam with a hint of concern in her voice.

"I will, thank you Janet."

"You're welcome honey."

The weekend passed by without any special occurances. And Monday morning they all gathered around the table in the briefing room table, waiting for Hammond to show up.

Daniel excitingly chatted with Jack about their upcoming mission. SG-3 have found some ancient looking ruins on their last mission which Daniel is dying to study.

"Daniel, just wait what Hammond has to say. I'm sure you'll get youre chance at looking at these rocks..."

"Ruins, Jack. Not just rocks, there is a tample that seems to..."

"Ah!" Jack held up his hand trying to stop Daniel. It was way to early for this kind of conversation with him. But to be honest, he didn't mind an easy mission for starters.

Teal'c was the one to break the silence, turning to Sam and asking, "Major Carter, do you not feel well today?"

All of a sudden, Jack's brown eyes flickered with concern as he looked over at Sam. What was wrong with her? She looked pale and in no way rested at all.

"It's nothing Teal'c. Just a bit tired that's all." Sam replied.

Throughout the entire weekend, Sam had been feeling tired and worn out, doing her best to consume as many vitamins as possible in the hopes that her body could soon recover from the stress.

Daniel squints over his glasses towards Sam as Hammond entered from his office.

Not aware of the conversation the General started with the briefing.

"SG-1, now that you're back, I'm more than happy to hand this mission over to you. Last week the Tok'ra contacted us. They've found a wappon on an abandoned planet and requested the help from Major Carter."

"Sure they need something", Jack interrupted "No one ever stopping by just saying hello. It's always saving the galaxy here, rescuing there..."

Sam had to hide a smile.

"Colonel, the Tok'ra asking for help is Jacob. I'm sure he is also happy to see his daughter. And as I understand this is an easy mission, just helping with some technology. Most of the work will be done by Major Carter and Dr. Jackson, so try to see it positively."

"Well when it's Dad asking for us, who am I to disagree." he replied smirking at Sam.

His answer earned him an other smile from Sam. She knows he playfully called her father 'Dad' and she appreciates the deep friendship shared between the two men.

"SG-1, you have a go. Gear up and you can leave anytime you're ready!"
