10 minutes later all four members were packed up an ready to go.

Stepping through the wormhole again and being greeted by their favorite Tok'ra SG-1 felt like they're back on track.

"Sam! Good to see you kiddo." Jacob welcomed his daughter.

"Dad! It's good to see you, too." Sam hugged him tightly. Only then she recognized how much she has missed her father. It felt like forever since the last time they saw each other.

"Dad!" Jack nodded towards Jacob.

"Jack!" Jacob looked eyes with him. "Daniel, Teal'c, how are you? It's also good seeing you guys."

Teal'c just bowed his head.

"Jacob, thanks for having us. So what is this wappon and how can we be of assistance?" eager to start immediately Daniel asked.

"Straight to the point. Ok folks, let's go and I'll show you." Jacob gestured the way to go, the guys took off and he fell in step with his daughter.

"So Sam, how have you really been? You do look exhausted."

"Well we had a rough few weeks dad, being held as workers under the surface and getting your mind stamped would do this to you. Give it a few days and I'm back to my normal self. I'm looking forward spending time with you and working on that device."

"Yeah, me too kiddo.", he put his arm around her, "and maybe if this works out I might get a few weeks leave in the near future. I haven't seen Mark and the family for a long time."

"That would be great, having you back on earth even for a short time."

"Come on then, don't we waist time. I think Daniel is longing to look at what we found."

"That's for sure." And for the first time Sam laughed again wholeheartedly.

As it turned out it wasn't a wappon as much as a power source. It took time for Daniel to translate the inscriptions. He and Teal'c gathered together at one side of the room to do the translation while Sam an Jacob worked on fixing what seemed to be damaged.

Jack kept himself occupied by playing with his yo-yo, walking through the corridors of the Tok'ra tunnels, and reminding everyone to take breaks to eat and drink.

A few days later Daniel and Teal'c were done with their work and while waiting for Sam and Jacob to complete the repair of the device they retired to their given quarters. Jack once again was wandering through the halls on his way to look for his 2IC. She was laying unterneath the device, working on it all day. Jack halted at the entrance, propping himself against the wall as he observed her. While watching her closely he wasn't aware that he again was observed by Jacob, who just returned to finish with Sam.

Jacob was uncertain what he was witnessing in that scene. What did the eyes of his daughter's commanding officer reveal to him?

There was no time to think about it further. He was torn out of his thoughts as Jack suddenly jumped in Sam's direction.

Sam completely unaware of the two men crawled out from under the device. When she tried to stand up, she felt dizzy and began to sway.

In an attempt to stabilize herself, she grabbed a table with one hand and put the other hand to her head, trying to ignore the upcoming nausea.

"Easy Carter!" Jack instinctively wrapped his arm around her waist to keep her from collapsing.

She managed to turn around quickly before throwing up.

In a matter of seconds, her father was also at her side. "Sam, what's wrong?"

Jack grabbed his radio "Teal'c! Daniel! Do you read me? Come on guys!"

"O'Neill, it's me, what is the matter?" Teal'c asked.

"Something is wrong with Carter, we're going home. It seems they're done anyway."

"Sir, it's no big deal. I probably lost track of time and didn't drink enough today..."

"It's not up for discussion Carter, we're heading home."

"But Sir..."

At that moment, Daniel and Teal'c made their way into the room. Seeing Sam pale and shaking Daniel exclaimed "Oh wow Sam you look terrible."

"Well, thank you Daniel."

"Yes and this is exactly the reason why we get you checked out by Janet. It's obvious that the cause for this ist not the all nighters you pull through nor the lack of food and fluids. You've been off balance ever since we're back home. Jacob, I hope it's ok that we're leaving? "

"Of course Jack, we're finished with the device, thanks to Sam. I would like to accompany you, but the Tok'ra won't allow it. I need to attend some pending matters and I'll catch up with you later." Jacob stated. And then he lowered his voice "Take care of my little girl, Jack."

"Always, Jacob. Always!"

Sam, slightly embarrassed, said goodbye to her father and so SG-1 went home.
