It was night back on Earth and the base was only occupied by the essential personnel. Walter, who was sitting in the control room greeted them "Welcome home SG-1."

"Thanks Walter," Jack replied "we'll take Carter to the infirmary, she's not feeling to well. Who is on duty?"

"Dr. Fraiser is here Colonel. I'll let General Hammond know that you're back. Go get all checked out." Walter immediately stood up and headet upstairs towards the General's office.

In the infirmary Janet took Sam with her motioned for Jack, Daniel, and Teal'c to take a seat on a bed each. While a nurse run the usual test after a mission on the guys Janet began tending to Sam.

"So Sam, tell me what happened."

"Today I finished working on this device. When I stood up, I felt lightheaded and nauseous. I staggered, prompting the Colonel to try to steady me. I couldn't help myself and threw up. Oh god Janet it was so embarrassing." Sam said, hiding her face behind her hands.

"Ok, full bloodwork then. It's probably no big deal Sam, perhaps your stomach isn't accustomed to our food again yet. Is this the first time, or have you experienced dizziness or nausea before?"

Thinking about it Sam told her that she felt off since their return from the Ice planet. Mostly tired, but lately a bit lightheaded and queasy.

"Anything else I should know?" Janet questioned.

Sam came to think of it "No, just this. I guess I've overdid myself again."

As SG-1 gave their brief report to Hammond, Sam had to rest in the infirmary hooked up to an IV.

Half an hour later Janet entered the infirmary again with a clipboard in her hands.

She watched her friend with suspicion, as Sam lay there with closed eyes and steady breaths. Sensing that she wasn't alone anymore Sam opened her eyes.

"What have you got, Janet? What do I need to do to get better?"

Janet shook her head "There is nothing you can do, you will get better in time on your own. But I'm asking again Sam, is there anything you want to tell me?"

"What does that mean, Janet you're scaring me! What the hell is wrong with me."

"Oh nothing is wrong in particular. Sam, when was the last time you had your period?"

"Just before our mission to the ice planet. What's that all about?" Sam couldn't make sense of the situation as she was too furious with her friend for not disclosing what was amiss.

"You really don't get it, do you?"

"No Janet, just tell me..." but then it clicked, thinking back to those nights they had spent as Jonah an Terra, hiding and doing things they weren't allowed to. Not there and especially not here on Earth surrounded by all the stupid regulations.

"You're not saying what I think you're saying, are you?"

"Sam you're pregnant! And you definitely haven't been before you left for this mission 10 weeks ago. So, wanna tell me something now?"

At that very moment, Jack entered the infirmary, trailed by Daniel and Teal'c. His expression turned to one of concern as he noticed Sam's seemingly shocked state.

"What's the matter?" Jack could just ask before Sam grabbed the next bucket and had to vomit for the second time today. Stepping in, the petite Doctor led the men out of the room.

"I know you like to know what's going on, but it's the middle of the night. Go to your quarters, rest a little and then you can come back in the morning. Sam is fine for now, I have to do some more tests. So you can come back in the morning, once you've rested."

About to protest, Jack locked eyes with Sam who simply nodded, prompting him to concede to her wishes he lead the archaeologist and Jaffa out of the infirmary.

Janet turnt back to Sam with a concerned look "Clearly on the planet something has happened what you have kept secret. So I have to ask," she inhaled deeply "Sam have you been raped?"

Shocked because these thoughts hadn't occurred to her she shouted "Oh god, No! No Janet, I would have told you THAT."

"You sure?"

"Yes of course!" Not sure how she could tell her friend, but something had obviously happend and she had to tell her.

"Do I speak to Dr. Fraiser here or do I speak to my friend Janet?" unconsciously she rested her hand on her stomach, where her unborn child lay.

"First of all I'm always your friend Sam, what's this all about? Now you're scaring ME."

"I need you to promise me that you won't tell anyone what I'm about to tell you until I figure out what to do"

"I promise, so spill!"

Trying to find the right words, Sam hesitated before speaking "Despite having our memories removed, we still found ourselves drawn to each other. They could erase the memories and give us new identities, but what they didn't manage was to wipe out our feelings. Yes Janet, something happened on that planet but we weren't aware it was forbidden. And knowing that everything had to go back to the way it was before we didn't feel the need to put it in the mission reports."

Janet's eyes widened as she let the news sink in, realizing the implications of what she had just heard.

"No rape then."

Sam smiled "No rape." As Sam realized the weight of the news, she fell silent, lost in her thoughts.

"So you're saying.."

"..that the baby's father just walked out of this door and I've got no idea how to tell him. God Janet, what have I done? What will this mean for our careers? We are going to be court-martialed..." a silent tear rolling down on Sam's cheek.

Janet took her friend into her arms, embracing her tightly in an effort to offer support.

"We'll find a solution, one step at time. What do you say we start with having a look at that baby of yours. I've got to do an ultrasound to check if everything is fine."

"Ok."

"Ok, I'll go get the ultrasound machine."

On her way out of the room she ran into the Colonel pacing in the hallway.

"Colonel, didn't I tell you to go to your quarters and get some sleep?"

There was no need for him to say anything, as his concern was evident in his eyes.

She took a deep breath and nodded towards the door.

"Sir, you can see her in the morning, no need to worry, ok?"

Jack let his shoulders slump, knowing when it was time to give up he turned around an made his way to his quarter.
