The next morning, Sam walked Jack to the gate room with a smile on her face, feeling both content and excited after their unforgettable night together. As they walked, Jack broke the silence.

"So, what are your plans for tonight?" he asked her.

Sam grinned back at him, knowing that he had assumed she would be staying on base.

"Actually, I'm meeting up with Janet," she replied. "It's been too long since we've had a girl's night together."

Jack nodded, grinning in approval. "Sounds like a good plan to me," he said. "You two have some catching up to do."

Sam smiled, feeling grateful for Jack's understanding. "Yeah, we really do. I'm looking forward to it."

Daniel looked up and saw Sam and Jack's approach, promptly greeting them both with a smile.

"Hey, Sam. Are you here to see us off?"

Sam nodded, feeling a twinge of jealousy that she wouldn't be going on the mission with her old team.

"Yeah, I'm just here to wish you guys luck."

Teal'c simply inclined his head in acknowledgment, while Captain Jeffery stepped forward and saluted Sam.

"Major, it's been an honor to be selected for SG-1."

Sam returned her salute, impressed with the young captain's.

"I have no doubt you'll do well, Captain." she replied. "Just stay focused and listen to your team. They know what they're doing."

"Thank you, Major," Captain Jeffery replied, a hint of excitement in her voice. "I'll keep that in mind."

Jack, who had been quietly observing the exchange, stepped forward and gave Sam a reassuring pat on the back.

"Don't worry, Carter. We'll be back before you know it."

Sam smiled, feeling grateful for Jack's reassurance. "I know you will. Just come back in one piece, okay?"

With that, the team stepped onto the ramp and Sam watched as they disappeared through the wormhole.

Sam couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as she watched the gate close behind SG-1.

She had always loved going on missions with her old team, but now, with her pregnancy, she knew that things were different.

Jack was now more careful than ever before on his missions. He knew that he had someone to come back to, and that thought alone was enough to motivate him to take extra precautions and ensure his safety. Sam smiled at the thought of Jack being so dedicated to their safety.

She was excited to become a mother, to raise her child with Jack, and to continue to make a difference in the world in her own unique way, even if it meant not stepping through the gate for a while.

At the end of the workday she met up with Janet in the infirmary.

"Hey Janet, ready to go?"

"Oh wow Sam, I've never imagined the day that actually you have to come to drag me out of work. Usually that's my part searching for you and finding you under some strange alien doohickey."

"Yeah well, things change. And beside that, I'm really hungry I have to admit. It's always easier for me at the end of the day to eat something that I can hold in. Calling it morning sickness gives you false hope, I assure you it happens all the day."

Sam was a bit moody about that, she hates throwing up.

Janet had to laugh: "All right, then let's go, we can pick up something to eat on the way to my place. I'll drive."

Sam was greatful for that, because in the afternoons she became more and more tired. Part of the pregnancy she had to get used to. Normally she was always so full of energy and could pull all nighters for a great amount of time, but nowdays she had to make sure not to fall asleep at her desk.

They picked up the food and made their way to Janet's.

Cassandra already waiting for them.

"Thank God, you brought food."

"Hello to you too Cassandra. Nice to see you. How was your day?"

Cassie smiled: "Sorry, hello Mom , hi Sam." she said, giving each a welcoming hug "nice to see you, it's just I'm starving."

"Then get the table set and we'll eat."

"Ok Mom!"

Dinner went well, Cassandra reported from her day and Sam tried to focus on eating so as not to overwhelm her stomach.

"Sam are you staying the night?"

"Yes, haven't had a girls night for a long time. Thought we could cuddle up on the couch for a bit and watch a movie before your bedtime."

"I would love that." even being a teenager now Cassie has always had a deep affection towards Sam and loved to cuddle and being held by her just like down in the abandoned nuclear facility.

"Go ahead, I'll clean up quickly and will join you two in the living room. In the meantime you could pick a movie." Janet told them.

As Janet stepped into the room, a gentle smile spread across her face. She noticed that Cassie was lying halfway on Sam, and Sam was absentmindedly stroking her hair. The scene before her was heartwarming and spoke volumes about Sam's nurturing personality.

It was evident that Sam had a natural talent for motherhood and would be an excellent Mom. The way she comforted Cassie with such ease and tenderness demonstrated her maternal instincts and made Janet feel grateful to have such an amazing person in her life.

"Honey, there is something I want to tell you..." Sam started.

"What's wrong, Sam?" Cassandra asked a little worried.

"Nothing is wrong. Things are just changing a bit..." Sams smile grew wider every second. "... I'm pregnant, Cassie. I'm going to have a baby!"

Cassie didn't know what to say. Thoughts running around in her head.

"But how?"

"I thought you knew the 'how' part by now." Sam had to giggle, because she knew the teenager had learned this things not so long ago, but that was not what Cassie was really questioning.

"I know the how, I mean, why?... Wait that also came out wrong. Sorry. Congratulations Sam! That's what I was wanting to say in the first place."

Cassandra's eyes lit up with an expression of pure joy as she hugged Sam tightly.

"I'm sure you're going to be a great Mom! My stammering came around the question who's the father? I didn't know you where seeing someone."

"Thank you! Yeah, I wasn't seeing anyone. Look, it happened on the planet we were stranded..."

"Please Sam don't tell me..." Cassie trailed off mid-sentence, her expression etched with concern and anxiety. She was hesitant to voice her fears aloud, afraid of what might have befallen Sam during her time on that distant planet. The thought alone was enough to send chills down her spine, and she found herself at a loss for words.

"Oh god, no Cass, it's not what you might think. I'm sorry I got you worried. It's just, with our memories erased we didn't know who we where and that Daniel, Teal'c and Jack where my friends."

"Jack?" she never had heard Sam call him that before. It always was 'Sir' or 'Colonel'.

"Yeah, we kind of gravitated towards each other. They could erase your memories but apparently not our feelings. We didn't know it was wrong and when we came back it was clear for us that what happened had to stay on that planet. Obviously that didn't work out."

Just to check she got that right she asked "So, your saying that uncle Jack is the father of your baby?"

"That's what I'm trying to tell you, taking the long way around."

The teenager squealed "That's awesome! You guys deserve this. Wait, thats not going to get you in trouble, is it?"

"No, it's all good. It runs under 'happened while being under alien influence'. So we're save. I took over the science department, because while pregnant I'm not allowed going through the stargate anyway. The boys got a replacement for SG-1, so Jack and I are no longer in the same chain of command."

"Wow, I can't wait to meet my new cousin. I do get to babysit, don't I?"

Sam hugged the girl tightly, overwhelmed with emotions. "I'm counting on that!"
