BTW it's not at all relevant to the story but, Happy Birthday to Nami!

Deciding to take turns on lookout was a mistake. There's no one out here for miles and the chances of encountering another crew was very slim out here in the grandline. She sat in the crows nest, her legs to her chest, covered in a blanket. A gentle breeze blew over her face, making her whimper and put the blanket over her head, it was fairly cold out, and pajama pants and a shirt didn't help. She thought about getting herself some nice hot tea, but couldn't bring herself to love from her spot.

She pouted, staring out to the dark endless sea, stars reflected over the surface of the water like a mirror. She didn't want to be out here, she wanted to be inside, in bed, with a nice blanket and pillow, maybe reading a book if she didn't feel like sleeping yet. Alone she started contemplating her situation, she felt like a bird in her nest, except it wasn't warm and it was made of wood. She doesn't have much alone time now, considering she's the navigator and very important, blah blah blah...

She thought about things she could do with all this free time out at sea. She usually spends a few days drawing maps then reading or something. She's actually gotten into just drawing in general. It was pretty fun, drawing her friends, Usopps was probably the funniest with his long nose, she just made it so long it went off the page, pissing him off but getting a good laugh outta her. She did Sanji a favor and drew him a few women, she just genderbent Zoro and Luffy who were standing next to him around the time of the drawing. He was happy until he noticed a female Zoro and Luffy and promptly got pissed they photo bombed him.

Zoro was probably the one she tried the least on. After all he sleeps in the same spot on deck everyday so she had plenty of time and didn't need to try too hard. He didn't care much for it, but she did see it hanging up on the wall in the men's cabin, which warmed her heart a bit. Luffy was the hardest one, of course, he never stands still, he's always moving which makes him the last person chosen for a class of artists to reference. But one day he just sat there, on the head of the Going Merry.

She tried to be inconspicuous, acting like she wasn't looking at him. But with a glance he just grinned. She had to pause her drawing and wonder, did he do this for her? She finished in no time at all, she could only look down at it and be amazed she was able to get this much of him. The only thing she didn't fully get, was his eye color. They make look black from afar but... She walked up to him, getting his attention and just looked into his eyes for a few minutes. It got a little awkward as he didn't say a damn thing during their "staring contest". The results startled her, but it wasn't scary, in fact, it seemed normal. His eye color was a deep red.

She still thinks about it, sitting up here at night, chilling in the ocean breeze. It's not like she's scared, it just... surprised her. He is such a sweet guy and yet, he has red eyes hidden behind his seemingly black orbs. She never gave him the drawing, she didn't know if she should've made the eyes red, it's not like anyone notices, and when he gets mad it almost looks like he has white eyes.

She sighs and ticks herself under the blanket. She'd been thinking about him a lot, it was just a few weeks ago when... everything happened. She just assumes she got a case of princess fever. Something stupid she heard about, "women falling in love with savior" crap. All four of them helped, he just happen to hit a certain cord with her. It's a bit frustrating. He's silly, but seems to understand her completely.

"Nami?"

She yelps startled she scoots away before falling onto her side. She looked toward where she sitting seeing the man on her mind peeking out from over the side.

"Luffy!"

She sat up hissing at him as he let himself into the crows nest.

"You okay?"

"I was! Until you scared me!"

She shoved his shoulder angrily. Getting a chuckle from him.

"Sorry. I tried calling you from below but you didn't answer so I thought you were sleeping."

"You should know me well enough to know I wouldn't just fall asleep on watch."

"Right..."

They sat in silence for a few minutes. She patiently waited to hear why he was here, she knows it wasn't time to switch out yet, she still had another hour. But looking at him he didn't look like he was affected by the breeze, but he did bring his hand up to hold down the hat seated on his head.

"Luffy? Why are you awake?"

He turned to her blankly before blinking and smiling.

"I... uh... forgot."

She groaned painfully, it's so like him to forget why he does things.

"You weren't after food were you?"

He shook his head matter-of-factly.

"Nope! I can't get past the locks."

He says confidently.

"Ok, can you try to remember why your awake? And why are you even up here?"

"Well... I knew you were awake. And... I wanted to talk..."

She watched him think, seeing his furrowed brows squint as he thinks real hard. It was hard to tell if he was being serious or not but she knew, somewhere in her heart this was for real and him thinking looked like he was constipated.

"Well then... what do you think about tonight?"

"Tonight? Hmm."

He looks up curiously, smirking toward the sky.

"It's amazing."

She felt her face get warmer at his joyful expression. It felt good to see him smile. He looked back at her, meeting eyes again she blushed making him tilt his head like a puppy.

"You alright?"

"Mhm, just... cold. Its nice but, a bit chilly."

He scoots over toward her, sitting shoulder to shoulder with her as he puts one one side of the blanket over him.

"Well I'm pretty warm."

He said sitting beside her, she gulped at his closeness but she admits he was warm.

"Thanks."

"Yep."

She sighs pleasantly, the heat of his is just radiating off him in a warm aura. She cautiously tilts her head, resting it on his shoulder. He says nothing and does nothing to move her so she assumes it's ok. She relaxes, closing her eyes for a bit, really feeling his warm ness.

"You... feel really nice. C-Can I... hold you hand? Mines... kinda freezing."

"Sure."

Beneath the blanket she reaches for his hand, caressing his knuckle before he moves his hand to hers and clasps his fingers with hers, letting out a little shivering chuckle.

"Cold fingers."

She relaxed more, leaning into him she felt just a little sleepy.

"This blanket... isn't much help."

"Then I'm glad I can be. If your too cold I could wrap my arm around you."

"No... it's ok. It actually feels really nice... just like this."

She snuggles up against him, hooking her arm around his with intertwined fingers, pressing herself into his arm as she uses his shoulder as a pillow. She yawns.

"Are you ok? Being alone out here?"

She scoffs.

"I can take care of myself."

"I mean, not having someone out here to talk to or sit with?"

She glances up at him, pursing her lips as she thinks of what to say.

"If you want, we can have two of us come out instead of one."

"We can't, we need as many of us rested for the morning. But... I would like a partner out here."

She says nuzzling into his neck hearing him hum.

"Nami?"

"Hmm?"

"Your getting really close."

"And?"

"Just wanted to know if you were sure about this."

"I'm tired, besides, you feel just like a pillow. It's very soothing."

"A pillow? But I'm made of rubber. That doesn't sound like a comfortable pillow."

"You'd be surprised..."

She yawned again, feeling the weight of sleep pull her eye lids shut. It's a very warm and fuzzy feeling.

"You sleeping?"

She nods putting her leg over his as she gets comfortable.

"I'll finish up then. Do you want me to take you to bed?"

She shook her head, and yawned laying her head happily.

"Night."

"night..."

She woke up seeing the sky turn a bright orange. But as she shifted she felt her bed groan. Looking down she saw Luffys sleeping face. She gazed around with flushed cheeks seeing that at some point, Luffy fell asleep, and they he moved to lay on his back as she slept on his chest. She rolled off his carefully, pushing the blanket back over him as she sat for a few minutes, yawning and stretching awake. She turned around seeing the sunrise in the distance.

That felt way too good, she thought, not expecting to fall asleep as soon as he moved next to her. But seeing as he's asleep too, she could only assume he felt similarly to her. She honestly considered going back to bed but, seeing as how Sanji would would whine over something like this she decided not. But she didn't want to leave him alone, especially not after last night. So she carefully moved just above his head, and carefully lifted it to rest on her lap. She just sat back and enjoyed the changing sky as Luffy slept on her lap.

With everything that happened she still couldn't confirm her feelings. But she knew, somehow, that he'd accept them, and make her smile. She bashfully sighed as she recalled princess fever, she doesn't think that was it, but it could be a part of it. He's just good like that. She gently leaned down and kissed his forehead, she couldn't stop herself from giggling happily, and covered her mouth to muffle her noises as to not wake him up.

She could hear Zoro and Sanjis bickering from outside, just knowing that's what she could wake up too, she's glad to make the right choice. Becoming a pirate, being apart of a group of friends that care and love each other. She really hopes their crew can grow, she'd like more friends. Perhaps she can draw them too, after finishing Luffys of course. Was that what he wanted to ask her? If it was she wouldn't know what to say, besides the fact how mature his red eyes make him look. She just shrugs, knowing she'll get another chance to draw him again, he does after all work in mysterious ways. And she loves him for it.

I'm having a really hard time jumping back into this. What looked like a months long break was actually me starting a bunch of stories but never finishing them. My attention span is garbage cause I really thought I had some ideas but I could never finish them for some reason. I just happen to work on this before bed and felt the need to finish it before passing out. I hope you enjoy, I'm really trying to jump back in, and thank you to everyone welcoming me back and telling me my stories are average no matter how crappy the grammar or story is so thank you. I'm thinking about just, shoving my unfinished stories into one, so that people could see each story and tell me which ones I should finish and which ones can die off. Let me know if you'd like to see all my unfinished work. Goodnight
