It all begins when Pyrrha Nikos throws a weapon called "Milo" at a young man named Jaune Arc. Once he throws the spear into the forest known as Emerald Forest, an audible "thunk" called eternal fall is heard throughout the forest.
A "thank you" can be heard in the distance for saving the young man in question. The young lady in question waves, "I'm sorry," as she falls into Emerald Forest, she says.
As Jaune is struggling to free himself he sees a young lady named Weiss Schnee who he gives an indigent and embarrassed wave as he is struggling. She goes back in the direction she came as she leaves him behind to find someone in her mind more "suitable" and worthy for her time.
As she is leaving she finds another girl named Ruby Rose who happily says "You came back" as she is pulled into the bushes by Weiss. "Wait! Come back! Who is going to get me down from here" he screams in panic and embarrassment as he watches the two girls walk away from him as he continues to struggle until he hears a voice from below "Jaune…Do you…have any spots left on your team?".
He looks at her with crossed arms and says "Very funny" As he looks he smiles along with his new partner as she lets him down. As they are walking through the forest they hear a noise with the Arc boy saying "Did you hear that?" the spartan girl responds with "Gunfire. It would seem some of our allies have encountered an enemy". As they walk further into the woods looking for the relic Pyrrha raises a branch and smacks Jaune in the face with it causing a minor wound.
She asks him noticing that the wound had not yet been healed "Why didn't you activate your Aura". He responds with a simple "Gesundheit" and then she with a questioning tone "Jaune do you… know what Aura is?". He contemplates telling her the truth about how he faked his transcripts and has no training and with a heavy heart he comes clean to her and tells her the truth about everything. " Jaunce…This is a lot to take in but you have come this far so I will train you as best I can". He asks in bewilderment "Why would you help me I have nothing to offer in return?". She says in a distant tone "You remind me of someone who I use to know and wanted to see succeed".
