After announcing the newly initiated students' team assignment, Ozpin informs them that classes begin one week from now.
In response to his advice, Jaune Arc, with the assistance of Pyrrha Nikos, his partner, and friend, is training and familiarizing themselves with Beacon during this time.
(Scene Change: Jaune and Pyrrha training in the Beacon courtyard)
In a drill sergeant-like tone, Pyrrha demanded 100 downward sword slashes before calling it a night. Jaune appears to be slashing downward with his knees bent as he recalls Pyrrha's hellish week.
(Flashback Begins)
We see Jaune and Pyrrha are shown to be in one of the many gym facilities offered to them thanks to Beacon's status of being a premier huntsmen school wanting its students to be in excellent physical health. Due to this fact, we see Jaune in a sleeveless black shirt with his family crest in the middle and Pyrrha wearing a sports top and form-fitting shorts that show off her sculpted body due to years of training.
When Pyrrha brought him into the gym, she hammered home the importance of staying physically fit.
They were shown using the treadmill first, with Pyrrha telling Jaune, "In the emerald forest, I noticed you looked out of breath from running so we will spend the next two hours on the treadmills so you can improve your overall stamina".
The following two hours are spent running on the treadmill, and Jaune's legs feel like mush from lack of training. Pyrrha then has Jaune do various exercises such as weight lifting and sparring with her, leaving our hero bruised and sore.
(Flashback End)
Once Jaune was done with his 100 downward slashes Pyrrha looked at him and thinks "He has responded very well to the training and his form has improved in only just a week this is unprecedented levels of improvement". As she is in her thought Jaune looks at her in her sports top and form-fitting and blushes and thinks "Damn she looks amazing in that" as he gets a little hot under the collar looking at his mock trainer and friend.
The thought exits his mind once Pyrrha suggests he obtain a ranged weapon, like a pistol, so he is no longer fighting in close combat only. After considering the suggestion, he suggests that they and their team go to the city together and bond before classes begin after tomorrow.
When they arrive in their dorm room, we find Blake reading on her bed "The boy who fell from the Sky" and Yang nowhere to be found, so Jaune asks the ninja girl: "Hey, Blake, do you know where Yang is? Pyrrha and I thought we'd visit the city so we could stock up on supplies and see the sights".
Blake doesn't immediately answer, but gives them a curious look and says in a bland tone "I believe she is with team LVWR in their dorm room with Ruby, and I have all the supplies I need, but I will let you know if I want to go in the morning". Before leaving, Pyrrha and Jaune thank her and leave to find their other teammate and friends.
(Scene Change: Outside of Team LVWR with Jaune and Pyrrha)
As they approach the room, Ruby can be heard screaming for help and Yang can be heard saying Why won't you stay down, you bastard, which prompts them to break into the room.
Once inside the room, they see Ruby and Yang struggling to combine two beds and make a bunk bed with Ren and Nora doing the same.
Jaune and Pyrrha looked at the scene before them amazed and flabbergasted at what was currently going on. It could only be described as a disaster waiting to happen with Team LVWR trying to make bunk beds out of their current beds.
When Jaune and Pyrrha realize what is going on, Jaune says in a questioning tone, "What the hell are you guys doing in here? ". With many different looks from around the room from Weiss's cold to Ruby's abashed the first to respond is Yang who says "What are you doing in here Vomit boy and Cereal girl, aren't you two supposed to be making out in the courtyard or something?". Once Yang makes that statement Pyrrha quickly tries to dispute the claim frantically and says " We don't make out we just train and workout together as friends".
Pyrrha just blushes and looks away with a pout as everyone but Jaune gave her a look that indicated they don't believe her.
Seeing that they are getting off track Jaune says " Yang, do you want to go into the city with me, Pyrrha, and Blake and have some fun before we started classes". A look of deliberation graces Yang's face as she considers the offer, and while she is considering.
Jaune says he needs a ranged weapon, which prompts Rudy to say in a very enthusiastic manner, "She'll come with team LVWR and can I help you pick out your new weapon?".
Jaune thinks to himself "Ruby is kind of nutty for weapons so having her there would probably help with deciding which would be best for me". As Jaune considers the offer, Weiss yells that she didn't volunteer for this, Nora tells You to stop being such a downer and Ruby gazes at him with puppy dog eyes.
In the end, the gold-tinted-eyed boy decides and answers with a smile, "Sure, Rudy, and since I have seven sisters, I can assist you in making your bunk beds." They all give him a look of doubt about the new information they just learned about the wannabe knight.
Despite the doubt in their gazes, Jaune does not comment on it and goes to work on building the bunk beds. Eventually, with a great deal of tape and patience, they make some makeshift bunk beds. The remaining members of team ABYN go to their dorm room and rested before saying their goodbyes.
When they got back to their dorm rooms, they fell asleep in their respective beds but Pyrrha and Jaune said goodnight to each other before going to sleep.
(Time skip: Next day Morning)
When Jaune Arc woke up in the morning, his partner and Blake yelled for Yang to hurry to the bathroom so they could get a shower. He knows it would probably take some time, so he opens his scroll and as he is looking at it, he sees a picture of himself hugging his seven sisters on a red cushioned couch.
After staring at the picture for a minute, he receives a message from his second older sister Anmesty Arc telling him to prepare for the beating of the his life he will receive for running away from them and going off trying to be huntsmen without any training.
It makes Jaune's blood run cold at the thought of his elder sister, who has been a prodigy in commanding aura, getting her hands on him.
He quickly shakes off those thoughts, thinking, "Those are future Jaune problems, I just have to worry about me getting my new weapon and maybe some new clothes".
After the girls finish their showers, he gets up and prepares to take his own the first day following the assignment and instruction Yang made it a rule for him to be the last member of the group to take a shower and they all agreed. Before Jaune went to take his shower he messaged the team's LVWR leader and tells her to meet them at the front gate of Beacon so they can take a train to the city.
When Jaune finished with his shower and finished his clothes and armor, he saw his team waiting for him and said, "Let's go, Ruby will meet us outside the front gate so we can take the train to the city".
Immediately after he said this, Yang and Blake left the room, followed by himself and Pyrrha.
(Scene Change: The city of Vale with Teams LVWR and ABYN)
The group decided that they would explore the city in groups and then meet back at the Vale cafe where they were currently divided into Jaune with Pyrrha and Ruby, Weiss with Yang and Blake, and Nora with Ren.
After looking for a weapon store with Pyrrha and Ruby, Jaune discovers a store called The Backwards Compass.
He enters and sees an older faunus male with antlers working on some armor in the forge. In a booming voice, he says, "Hello little ones, my name is Melo, the owner of the Backwards Compass, how may I assist you today?" as he stops working at his forge.
Jaune tells the man now known as Melo that he is looking for a ranged weapon to supplement his sword and sheath, as well as an armor upgrade.
Once Jaune tells him this Melo decides to look around his shop that would fit the young man and found a set of armor and a gun holster for Jaune.
The armor in question is two shoulder guards one which is spiked and the other similar to his old arm guards smoothed and rounded off sharply. The arm guards had a white and yellow accent, while the leg guards were made from three metal triangles stacked on top of one another and the holster was made in the shape of a rounded triangle that went down to about halfway to the hips with a white jacket and yellow accents to match the armor set. (Basically Finn's Armor from Evertale)
He asks his friends, awestruck by the craftsmanship of the armor. Taking a close look at the boy, Melo says, "I see you are an Arc by the sword you carry, so I will give you a discount since your great-grandfather saved my life during the Faunus rights revolution; it will only cost you 2000 lien. You will also need 500 lien for the pistol you choose".
He looks at the man in awe after hearing the information that was given to him by the man in question.
As he left home with 4500 lien, Jaune was only left with 2500 lien due to having to buy faked transcripts and staying in a hotel. He accepts the offer and looks for a gun, one, in particular, catching his attention.
The more experienced combatants and weapons people in the room commented that the gun was older and had not been used in years.
In Ruby's words, it was super old and had only shot once before reloading, but Jaune picked up the flintlock pistol, whose grip and trigger were black, the firing mechanism was yellow, and there were hints of red on it. Jaune heard the words "Flavo Morsu" in his head and decided that this was the pistol for him, much to Ruby and Pyrrha's displeasure, since there were many other much better guns in the shop.
Once Jaune had given Melo the lien, he put the armor, holster, and gun into a bag and bid the deer faunus man farewell as they set off to meet with the rest of their teams at the cafe where their trip started.
(Scene Change: All groups at Vale Cafe)
Jaune and his group were the last to return as they had to find a store to shop at, based on what Jaune observed. Weiss and her group went to Adel's Fashion and bought clothes, while Nora & Ren walked around Vale. Once Jaune and his group sat down at the table with they had a few minutes of pointless conversation with many getting to know each other better.
After Ruby ordered a cookie-flavored coffee, Weiss tried to calm her down, and Pyrrha got her first indirect kiss from Jaune when she asked him to try his coffee laughter and giggles were shared between the two teams.
After a few more giggles they all receive their schedules for their first year in a message from Beacon and tell them to prepare for their next four years.
After that they all started to compare schedules realizing besides Jaune and Ruby who had to get up earlier for leadership classes with Ozpin their schedules were all the same with Aura Studies coming first followed by Remnant History followed by Grimm Studies, survival and wilderness training, and finally combat classes.
After looking that they had Aura Studies at the beginning of the day Jaune goes deathly pale and everyone gives him a worried look Yang asks Jaune "What's wrong Vomit boy you look like you've seen a ghost?".
Then Jaune tells them about the message he received from his sister Anmesty who said she got the job of being the Aura Studies teacher this year and explained she was good with Aura manipulation and Aura sensing.
Everyone was intrigued since they had never heard of her, and she was one of their friend's sisters, so teasing him about it later would be fun. After comparing their schedules the group of eight teens decided to head back to Beacon for the day and prepare for the next four years of their lives.
(Time skip: Next Day Combat Class locker room with Jaune Arc)
Adversity is something that everyone faces in their lives at all levels some struggle to survive while others struggle to prove to themselves that they belong in the position they are in.
Jaune Arc's first day at Beacon can only be described as pathetic from knowing very little about history to being a complete novice in aura manipulation but things just kept getting worst in combat class currently he is going up against Cardin Winchester an arrogant and racist slimeball but is stronger than Jaune at this point.
Jaune thinks to himself "This is what I have been training with Pyrrha for just remember what she said be unpredictable, analyze the situation, and strike harder and faster than my opponent".
Even though all this is easier said than done, Jaune looks into the mirror and says aloud, "This is your prove it moment, you have failed at every other opportunity, go out and prove you belong here" and then Jaune heads off in his new armor and weapons for his prove it moment in the arena to prove to himself he belongs.
(Scene Change: Beacon Arena with Cardin and Jaune waiting)
"May Cardin Winchester and Jaune Arc please step towards the center of the ring" Glynda Goodwitch said in a booming voice waiting for the two combatants to do as told.
Despite being about the same height, Jaune may be a little taller than Cardin, both do what is instructed. With a smug look on his face, Cardin thinks to himself, "This is going to be a freebie and on the first day too." Jaune with his gold-tinted eyes begins to shine and thinks simply, "I have to win".
Professor Goodwitch looks at both combatants and says " The rules for this fight are the same as the previous ones your aura is below 15% you lose do shake hands and prepare for your fight".
Jaune and Cardin do as she commands but Cardin whispers with malice in his tone "I can't wait to beat you into the ground".
Jaune just stares at him for a long second to comprehend what was said to him and then whispers to him "I'm going to beat your face in you racist trash".
They break their handshake and walk to their respective stations both getting into fighting positions Cardin with his mace "Executioner" casually on his shoulder and Jaune with "Crocea Mors" in his right hand slightly tilted and sheith up with.
Seeing both combatants ready and with a booming "begin" Carbin goes on the offensive and tries to strike Jaune with his mace but Jaune is able to block the strike.
In response to the block, Cardin disengages and swigs the mace to the left, knocking Jaune Shieth out of the way and allowing him to strike, hitting Jaune in the stomach with his mace, leaving the knight with 50% aura.
"Fuck that hurt," Jaune thinks as he staggers back from the hit as Cardin dashes toward him in search of another swing of his mace.
A golden-tinted light begins to flash in Jaune's eyes as he sees Cardin speeding toward him slowly. With this being the only chance to land a solid blow, Jaune ducks when Cardin swings his Mace and he gives him a horizontal slash to the stomach which is followed up by a downward vertical slash, causing Cardin's aura to drop to 85%. Cardin staggers back from the hits and recovers.
After seeing Jaune approaching fast, he activates the explosive dust in his mace, which causes small sparks to fly from the dust as it heats up. Not knowing his plan, Jaune blocks Cardin's swing with his sword, causing Cardin to unleash the explosion, causing Jaune to fall back from the force, leaving some burns on his arm and right hand.
(Scene Change: Dreamscape with Jaune and Crocea Mors)
Jaune slowly wakes up and realizes he is back in the white place where he first met Crocea Mors.
"Your fighting has improved since I last saw you little defier but it is not enough to unlock those eyes," A blond-haired male that looks similar to Jaune says as he offers Jaune a gloved-covered hand. " We have much to discuss little defier," the man said with a small but noticeable smile.
