Chapter 3:Gohan awakens
The night was quiet as Bulma, Trunks and Gohan sat in the peaceful living room of Capsule Corp. After a few minutes of peace, Gohan stirred from his sleep. Trunks could feel his heart swell with joy and rushed to his side. Bulma, still a little anxious as to how Gohan would take the news, stood quietly from her chair in the corner of the room.
'Gohan!' Trunks exclaimed.
Gohan stayed still for a second or two, then slowly opened his eyes. He looked around the room and his face was filled with confusion.
'Trunks…where am I?' Gohan said, his voice still a quiet raspy whisper.
'Gohan! You're safe!' Trunks said with a beaming smile.
Bulma let out a sigh of relief as Gohan finally woke up. He had been laying in the infirmary for a few days, recovering from his injuries during the battle with the androids. His arm had been completely destroyed and it had taken even more days than expected to heal the rest of his wounds.
'Gohan,' Bulma said gently. 'You're back at Capsules Corp. Trunks and I have been working on a prosthetic for you.'
'Ah,' Gohan said, nodding. 'I see. How much longer until it's finished?'
'It's almost done,' Bulma reassured him. 'It just needs a few more days.'
Gohan gave her a nod and looked around the room. His eyes were a little wider than before and he seemed to be in a state of confusion.
'Trunks, what happened?' he asked, his voice still weak.
Trunks took a deep breath before beginning his story. He recounted the brutal battle with the androids that had gone far beyond their told Gohan how he found Gohan's body in a crater of rubble and if Trunks didn't save him then Gohan mat have died.
As Trunks told him the story, Gohan let out a proud smile. He was proud of himself and of Trunks for achieving something he hadn't been able to do before.
When Trunks finished his story, Bulma stepped forward and placed a hand on Gohan's shoulder.
'You must be so hungry,' she said. 'Come on. I'll make you something to eat.'
Trunks and Gohan followed Bulma into the kitchen and she served them a wonderful dinner. They shared stories of the battles they had faced and could only dread the thought of facing the androids again.
After dinner, Trunks and Gohan went outside for a walk. They talked about the future, their dreams, and Gohan's prosthetic arm. Gohan's heart was filled with hope and joy.
The two boys continued to talk until the sun began to set. They watched as the sky turned orange and red and then, suddenly, the androids appeared in the sky.
Gohan and Trunks froze in their tracks, their faces overtaken by fear. But, just as quickly as they had appeared, the androids vanished.
Gohan and Trunks breathed a sigh of relief and made their way back inside the mansion. They knew that they would have to fight the androids soon, but they were both content knowing that Gohan was safe for the moment.
Back in the living room, Bulma had made them a special dinner to celebrate Gohan's recovery. They had all enjoyed chatting and eating together and, as they said their goodbyes, Trunks hugged Gohan tightly.
They both looked forward to the future, but knew that the fight against the androids was still very real. They had bravely faced the androids before, but the future had yet to be determined.
