Foreword: Getting into the start of Z and the Saiyan Saga for this chapter. I know some people aren't keen on time skips but I imagine readers want to get into recognizable story so into Saiyan Saga we go.
Piccolo stood alone in a wasteland feeling a sense of emptiness from the absence of his son Bansuri. It had been five years since Piccolo spat out the egg but it had been the first time he had been separated from his child for any meaningful amount of time since he started magic training with Fortuneteller Baba three months ago.
From what Piccolo could gather about the interaction, Bansuri simply asked politely to be trained in the arcane arts and after a brief pause the witch had simply agreed to teach him? He also couldn't currently sense his son or talk to him telepathically leaving Piccolo well and truly alone since before the World Tournament when he was a child. Piccolo assumed the training was being done in the Otherworld to better connect to the more ethereal energy of magic.
Still, Piccolo was alone and while he used to enjoy the silence of the world around him to delve into his own mind, he found himself dwelling on the times he and his son were together. When had he gotten so soft? When did he gain a distaste for silence? When did that large and dark presence start speeding toward him?...Wait.
Piccolo turned to face this energy racing toward him, that couldn't be Goku and it certainly wasn't any of the humans he saw at the tournament. No, this was a new and dark presence unlike any other he felt before, dwarfing his past self's power and being just over double his own current strength.
Piccolo watched the newcomer land, wearing a strange armor with a weird thing over his ear that covered his eye with a green thing. The person also had long spikey black hair and a look or confusion on his face.
"What the...What is a Namekian doing here? And why is it the highest powerlevel on this planet?"
Namekian? This planet? Piccolo was floored by the implications that not only was this new guy an alien but also so was Piccolo himself, Kami who was listening in was also quite interested in the name of his own race but more terrified at the invader's power.
"Who are you? And why are you here?" Piccolo asked, keeping his expression stern and trying not to give away how wary he was of this spikey haired alien.
"Hmph! I am Raditz and I am here looking for my brother" Raditz answered, an air of superiority rolling off him along with his power.
Piccolo didn't know who Raditz' brother was and was about to say as much when Piccolo noticed something: the belt around his waist looked more like a monkey tail than a belt. That's when it clicked: Goku used to have a monkey tail and was far stronger than any of the humans Piccolo cared to know. Could Goku be this guy's brother?
"Spikey black hair, stronger than any human fighter by a longshot?" Piccolo asked, half suspecting the answer only to be confirmed immediately.
"You know Kakarot?! Where is he?! I must speak to him at once!" Raditz questioned and demanded, showing his entitlement.
Piccolo was half tempted to abstain from answering but he was curious on what the deal was with this guy and if he was a threat to the world Piccolo seeks to rule. Piccolo points in a direction, getting a confused look from Raditz.
"The guy you're after is that way, there's a house on a small island in that direction and you'll find them there" Piccolo explained, watching Raditz play with the device on his ear and nod to themselves.
"There is a strong powerlevel in that direction, very well! Since you were so helpful I will let you live...For now" Raditz launched away in the direction of Kame House, leaving Piccolo somewhat annoyed at his attitude before Piccolo stealthily followed after. He wanted to see how Goku faired against this invader and if he could be convinced to team up against this alien.
While Goku was not the ideal assistance in the upcoming fight Piccolo suspected was going to happen, he was still going to be of Some Help.
