Foreword: The ki blade technique Bansuri used to carve into Vegeta is inspired by the Special Beam Cannon, using a short but highly compressed and potent blade of ki extending past 2 fingers. Bansuri calls it the Light Dagger. As for how Bansuri snatched Gohan off the Nimbus? Remember how in training with Piccolo he sometimes used portals to have Piccolo punch himself in the back of the head? He made a portal to snatch the kid...Yes Bansuri used the technique to make Vegeta hit himself as well, but only when Vegeta overcommitted with his attacks. Let's get back to the show.
Vegeta sat painfully in his pod, going over the fight in his head and with the benefit of hindsight had a number of realizations.
'They didn't need scouters to know how strong Nappa and I were or where we were either. And those Namekians, one was strong enough to match Nappa and the other could mess with my senses and carve into me like a damned steak dinner, are all Namekians so threatening?' Vegeta thought to himself, wincing as every breath aggrivated the cut on his back as he looked at the cuts across his arms, legs and torso.
'...No way! Every cut is placed perfectly to weaken and slow me down, and cut to the exact same depth to cause the most pain without hitting an artery or making me bleed out! All this in the heat of battle AND after losing someone they care about?!' Vegeta realized, in awe at the sheer focus such a feat would take and terrified that he could have been killed at any moment.
"...I need to be more careful" Vegeta stated to himself before trying to figure out how to sense energy like the people on Earth could. He couldn't afford to rely on something so easy to trick. The pain in his back made things difficult but a dip in the healing pod would fix him right up then it was a trip to Namek. He would need to play things carefully there, the Namekians there could be as dangerous as the one's on Earth were.
"OH MY POOR BABY BOY! I CAN'T BELIEVE I ALMOST LOST YOU! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING JUMPING INTO DANGER LIKE THAT YOU COULD HAVE DIED!" Chi-chi wailed, alternating between affection and condeming the boy leaving Goku, Bansuri, Krillin, Roshi and Baba sweat dropping at the exchange.
"...Nice work with the Mind Magic. Vertigo and Equilibrium?" Baba complimented and questioned Bansuri.
"Thank you and yes they were" Bansuri answered politely.
"Good thing you're nothing like King Piccolo, we'd all be screwed if that monster had the talent for magic" Roshi commented before pausing. "If Piccolo is your father, wouldn't that make King Piccolo your Grandfather?" Roshi questioned, making Bansuri look thoughtful for a moment.
"...I suppose so? He's already dead so I doubt it really matters" Bansuri said, shrugging at the question.
"...Y'know what that's fair" Roshi admitted, realizing his own experiences colored his expectation of Bansuri and easing up a bit.
After Chi-chi finished her outburst, the conversation for going to Namek was brought up with Goku excited at the idea of higher levels of gravity training so of course he was going to Namek. Naturally the next to state their intent of space travel was Bansuri, partly to see his people's world but also to train with Goku citing a desire to learn the power multiplying technique Goku was using against the Saiyan. Krillin also wanted to learn this technique and wants a hand in bringing his friends back.
"Okay! so we know who's going, now we just have to wait for the ship to be made" Goku stated, getting understanding nods from Bansuri and Krillin.
"Bulma did say it would take her and her father a few weeks to make a ship for us. I imagine Bulma will likely be the pilot" Bansuri stated.
"Why do you think that?" Krillin asked looking confused.
"Scientific discovery I imagine and she seems driven" Bansuri answered getting an understanding look from Krillin.
"I wanna help too!" Gohan piped up, immediately getting denial from Chi-chi, but Bansuri had a proposal.
"How about Roshi trains the kid for the weeks leading up to the departure, if Gohan grows to a level that is acceptable in that time, let's say Krillin's current level of power, then he can come to space. If he can't then he won't, simple as that." Bansuri proposed, getting thoughtful looks from the people present.
"...Fine" Chi-chi agreed while giving a warning look to Roshi who immediately understood. 'If Gohan's innocence dies, you die'. Roshi simply gulps and gives a nod of agreement with everyone else accepting the proposal.
A moment of silence passes.
"Sooooo about that technique.." Krillin pipes up, with Bansuri giving Goku a questioning look after.
