Foreword: Time to see if Gohan will be added to the ship or if he'll stay on Earth and hold down the fort while the strongest fighters in the world tackle space; the final frontier. Let's get this show on the road.

Goku, Bansuri and Krillin decided collectively that the day before departure would be the best time to test Gohan's growth and make the final decision of whether or not he will come with them to Namek. This was told to Chi-chi, Bulma, Roshi and Gohan a week prior to the deadline so when the time came everyone will be gathered at Kame House to see how Gohan has progressed.

Krillin: "Gotta say kid, either you're as tough as I was when the Saiyans came or seriously close"

Goku: "Nice going Gohan!"

Bansuri: "Well done on your development Gohan, but I'm sure you understand that fights are more than just raw power, correct?"

Gohan nodded with a determined look, he had expected a test to see if he could handle himself in a fight and he was right as the fighters flew and were carried in his and Roshi's case to a nearby landmass so Krillin can test if Gohan was ready.

Bansuri: "This battle will be between Krillin and Gohan to decide if Gohan is coming with us to Namek or staying on Earth. This fight will not allow ki based techniques such as flight or blasts due to Gohan not knowing how to fly and because the training on the ship won't include ki blasts due to the void of space being fatal. Fighters ready?"

Krillin/Gohan: [Drop into fighting stance] "Ready!"

Bansuri: "Then BEGIN!"

At Bansuri's call, the fight began with Krillin and Gohan blitzing forward and trading punches, kicks, elbow and knee strikes, blocking parrying and dodging each other and reminding Goku of his own fight with Gohan when they were kids, putting a nostalgic smile on the Saiyan's face. True, there were moments where Krillin's experience in combat put Gohan on the back foot, the young half-saiyan showed great improvisation to get the momentum of the fight to shift to his favor.

Goku: "Wow! Gohan is doing super well!"

Roshi: "I gotta say your boy is the most motivated student I've ever had, he picked up my lessons quicker than you did"

Goku: "Seriously?! Man that's awesome!"

The fight continued for 5 more minutes before Gohan overextended after a kick and was flung into a nearby rockface. After a moment's pause Gohan launched out again ready to keep fighting.

Bansuri: "ALRIGHT, END IT HERE!"

Krillin: "Okay!"

Gohan: [Gohan stops his launch at Krillin by digging his feet into the ground, stumbling slightly but recovering swiftly] "Whoa! Okay!"

The experienced fighters looked at Gohan and considered the skills and judgement Gohan showed in battle. This quiet discussion lasted for a few minutes before an agreement was meet. Goku picked up his son (with Krillin picking up Roshi) and the fighters flew back to Kame House to tell the final judgement to Bulma and Chi-chi.

Bansuri: "Due to his excellent growth in power and skill, it is in the view of all four of us that Gohan is capable of fending for himself and traveling to Namek"

Chi-chi: "B-but he's only 6 years old!"

Bansuri: "Despite appearances, I'm only 6 years old as well. Plus my father was only 3 when he tried to kill Goku at the last World Tournament and 8 when he succeeded along with killing Goku's brother."

Chi-chi: "He's not an alien like you are"

Bansuri: "You're right, he's part Saiyan. Different alien and the same type as the ones that recently tried to blow up the planet. You're applying human child logic to an alien child that weeks ago turned into a giant ape and is now a match for the strongest human in the world at 6. He's not helpless nor is he alone, trust your kid."

Chi-chi: "...[Sigh], you have a point. It's just hard to look at Gohan and not think he's helpless."

Bansuri: "You care about him, it's fair to want him to be safe but I imagine that Gohan wants to get stronger to protect you or anyone else he sees fit to care about. Right Gohan?"

Gohan: [Nods with a determined look].

Chi-chi takes a few deep breaths to compose herself before giving her son a gentle smile.

Chi-chi: "Alright, Gohan can go to space. You'll look after him, right?"

Bansuri: [Respectful nod].

Chi-chi: "Then I guess we have a big trip to pack for don't we Gohan?"

Gohan nods and Chi-chi leads her son to the flying car she used to get to Kame House and they both hop in with Gohan giving a respectful and thankful nod to Bansuri before the car flies back to Mount Paozu so the Half-Saiyan can pack.

A moment of silence passes.

Goku: "...Wow, I've never seen Chi-chi lose an argument"
