A/N: I am so overwhelmed by the positive reactions to the first chapter. Thank you a lot! :')
Shifts at the hospital were much more tiring with newbies to train. The hospital really needed the help – no question about that – but it wasn't easy to introduce everyone to medicine basics. Less things got done when you had to demonstrate basic procedures first in order for someone new to perform it. Sakura sighed as she thoroughly scrubbed her hands. Believe it or not, even teaching someone this was a pain in the ass most of the time. In the mirror above the faucet she saw this month's apprentice and smiled to herself despite everything.
It was merely Hinata under her tutelage and Sakura knew she couldn't have asked for a better person to supervise. Hyūgas could always learn fast by looking at procedures with their dōjutsu, chakra control technicalities were merely a formality to them and they all showed an exemplary work ethic. Usually they weren't loud either. A definite plus, since Sakura had never been a talker at work. Unlike Ino pig. It made it harder to focus and it really looked unprofessional. She scrunched her nose. Nothing was worse than the lack of professionalism in front of a patient.
Hinata in particular understood that. Working with her was pleasant, especially since they were close, but not particularly so – no temptation to gossip. Thankfully though, they were close enough to skip formalities. That area of just more than acquaintance was the sweet spot for a disciple, Sakura thought. And with Hinata's calming aura and kind demeanour there was no problem for her to put patients at ease. The healing part she had mastered nearly from the start – no question on her professionalism there.
Despite her status as an heiress, she wouldn't shy away from the tasks most people tried to skid around. She would even change the elderly and wash them and still radiate her trademark serenity. Sakura was definitely impressed. Hinata's smile wasn't too wide as if forced, but rather cool enough to be polite without overstepping. Yeah, she was good.

"Hinata! Hey! Hinata!" Just where was this woman? Arghh, it must be so practical to have the Byakugan when looking for someone…
Sakura frantically poked her head through the doors of the nearby rooms. Nowhere to be seen really. And as she slumped her shoulders ready to give up while looking in the last room, she was gobsmacked.
Sasuke – yes, the one who had rejected her with finality little more than a year ago – the one Ino pig made sure to convince her couldn't be straight considering the circumstances – was here in the flesh sitting on an examination table with surprisingly no complaint. Hinata was the one doing his check-up. And when said woman ungloved her hands and nodded politely in his direction to signal she was done, Sasuke decided that he still had one more thing to do. And then – so fast that one could even nearly miss it – Sasuke grasped Hinata's hand and kissed her fingertips. The corners of his mouth started to upturn in a smirk when Sakura gasped and pulled back.
None of her business. She was over it, right? Yeah, she had been dating Naruto for two months. Emotionally she was over it. She scrambled as fast as possible back to work trying to behave as if nothing had happened. Had that been a tad… Unprofessional?

Okay, maybe now she regretted not being all that close with the Hyūga heiress. Her tongue itched to ask questions. Shit, she couldn't even focus on her work! Maybe gossiping at the hospital wouldn't be all that bad, just this one time…
Up next: Just what has Sakura just witnessed? We'll find out in a few days through Kurenai's POV. :D
See you on Day 8!
