"What Was / What Should Have Been"

(The Bar Version-Trina's Mea Culpa)

After he was helped up by Dante, Spencer held his side in pain from the punches he received from Dex. That didn't stop him from complaining about Joss and Dex knowing about the fake evidence. After he called Dex a neanderthal, Trina suggested that it was Spencer who was deserving of the name. Then she really let loose on her boyfriend-calling him a selfish, entitled jerk and saying that she can't stand him when he's like that. She also refused to accept his apology. After that, Trina stormed off and ended up at GH with her mother and Spencer ended up at home, with Esme.

That's how it happened. But how about this?

As Trina stormed off outside the bar, she was fuming. "Spencer can be so much sometimes," she thought. "Just take a deep breath, Trina. You can't let him get you that upset."

But as she started to calm down, she started to think.

"Did you really just call him a selfish, entitled jerk? The man who sacrificed his freedom for you and went to Pentonville, when he could have kept quiet? The man who risked his life to make sure that you made it out alive in Greenland-the place and time you just basically said "never happened"? The man who is living with his psycho ex to take care of his baby brother when he could be living the life of a young man, rather than Mr. Mom? The man who loves his family and his friends? I can't believe that I went off on him again like that. Maybe it is just who he is-but, who he really is is a pretty great guy. He has his flaws, but so do we all. Spencer did not have the stable, loving family home and happy childhood that I did. He dealt with and is still dealing with a family that has major issues. The fact that he has such an empathetic heart for those that he loves, speaks volumes to the kind of person he is."

The more she thought about what all she had just said and did, Trina cringed. "All that and he's hurt! Oh my God, he needs help!"

Trina quickly went back inside and saw Spencer with his head down on a table, still gripping his side. She walked over and put her hand on his shoulder. He slowly looked up at his shoulder and saw a familiar hand. He looked up further and saw Trina's face smiling at him.

Spencer managed a smile and said, "Trina, I'm so..."

"Don't say it. I'm the one who's sorry. Can you forgive me for being much too much just now?" Trina asked.

Spencer, who wasn't used to people apologizing to him, said, "Ok."

"Great, now let's get you to GH and get you checked out. Then, I'll get you home and make sure that you get tucked in for a good night's sleep," Trina said.

"Sounds good to me," Spencer said.

As she helped him up,she gave him a quick kiss as they headed out of the bar.

"Looks like they might make it," Dante said to Sam.

"Yep, you might be right," Sam replied.
