Angel's Wish World
As the trio watched Buffy and Angel fighting the vampires, Willow was even more convinced there had to something obvious that she was missing, but she just couldn't put her finger on what it was. How could Buffy and Angel be here if they had just seen them looking older? Had they gone back in time to before Buffy's wish had come true?
The trio followed Buffy and Angel as they headed back toward his apartment, but stayed outside as they saw them kissing and tearing at each other's clothes.
"Ok, from what I see it looks like Angel's wish involves his soul staying put when he and Buffy have sex," Amy said.
"Amy you make it sound like there are two different Angel's. One in Buffy wish and one in his own. Wouldn't their wish be same, for Angel to be human so they can be together?"
"Obviously not Willow. Because the evidence clearly shows that although they want to be together, they want it in a different way. Buffy wants Angel to be human, and she doesn't want to be the Slayer. Angel wants his soul bound to him so he and Buffy can safely have sex without him loosing it and he wants her to the Slayer."
"Then who was the other Angel and who is this Buffy?"
"Think of it this way. Their clones of the originals, with all the thoughts and feelings of the original, who think they are the original and react the way the original would. She had do it this way in order to fulfill the wish as each person's hearts desire is different from everyone else. You asked for each of you to get your perfect life and assumed that what you wanted would also be what Xander wanted. Buffy assumed that what she wanted was what Angel wanted and Angel assumed that what he wanted was what Buffy wanted. Everyone is making assumptions."
"So the Xander passed out drunk in that house back in that first wish is a clone? And he's miserable because the real Xander would be too, because he doesn't want to be with me like that. As in married and everything involved with marriage. And the only way she could make my wish come true was by Xander being tricked into marriage."
"Plus the human Angel is miserable too and cheating on Buffy?"
"Well that explaination is close," Anyanka said "but the truth is I just moved each of you into a reality where the circumstances that matched your wishes already existed. Which means each of these realities are real. The circumstances that make each of these scenarios is real. The you of that world did marry him under false pretenses, letting him think you had gotten pregnant, when you hadn't, in order to get what you wanted. So that Alexander Harris is real and is miserable because of what that you has done to him."
"Same with these Buffy's and Angel's."
Willow stared at the demon, unable to believe there really was a version of her that would do that.
"If that's true, then where is the real Xander?"
"Well let's find out," Amy said, holding up the necklace.
"Ok, do it," Willow said.
Amy once again reached out with her magic and found the thread that would lead them to Xander, she found there was another thread wound around his and realized it was Cordelia, which meant they were going to find them near each other, in the same wish world. 'Oh, interesting, indeed,' Amy thought, as the world changed around them.
