Luke walked over to Uncle Owen who was about to purchase droids from some Jawas. Padme appeared by Owen. "Owen, you have to buy those two. They were my droids at one time. That golden protocol droid and that blue and white astromech droid. "Padme explained. "I already bought that R5 unit and the golden protocol droid. "Owen replied. Suddenly R5's motivator exploded and part of it stuck out of his top. "Uncle Owen This R2 unit has a bad motivator look! "Luke shouted.
"What are you trying to pull on us? "Owen growled at the Jawa Leader. "Excuse me, but that R2 unit is in prime condition a real bargain. "Threepio explained. "Uncle Owen what about that one? "Luke pointed to R2D2. "We will take that blue one. "Owen said to the Jawa. The Jawa agreed. "Come on R2. "Threepio said and artoo followed luke as R5 was taken away by the Jawa's.
"Take these two over and have then cleaned up by lunch. 'Uncle Owen ordered. "I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters. "Luke groaned. "You can waste time with your friends later. 'Uncle Owen ordered. "Come on you two. "Luke groaned as the droids and Padme followed him.
Later Threepio was being lowered into an oil bath while Luke was playing with a model of his T-16 Skyhopper. "Biggs is right. I am never going to get out of here. "Luke groaned. 'You will Luke. Owen can't keep you here forever. "Padme replied. "With all that we have been through its luck we are in as good condition as we are with the rebellion and all. "C3P0 explained. I had nothing to do with it otherwise I would have kept you two together. "Padme continued.
"It sounds like she is in real trouble. I better play back the whole thing. "Luke said as he approached Artoo. Artoo started whistling and beeping. "He says the restraining bolt has short circuited his recording system. If you remove the bolt, he might be able to play back the entire message. "Threepio explained. "Um Hmm like I am going to buy that. "Padme replied. Luke removed the restraining bolt and the hologram disappeared. "Hey where did that go. Playback the entire message. "Luke groaned. Padme reached into Artoo to force him to play the whole message. Artoo screamed as Padme messed with his circuits. "I don't think that is going to work Miss Padme. "Threepio warned. Artoo still didn't play back the message. "What message? The one you're carrying inside your rusty innards. "Threepio said as he slipped Artoo's dome. Luke headed his tools to C3P0. "See what you can do with him. "Luke said and then he headed inside the dining room. Padme followed him.
"I was cleaning that R2 unit and stumbled on to a recording in it. "Luke explained. Beru handed Luke a cup with blue milk. "Tomorrow you will take that R2 unit to Anchor head and have its memory erased. That is the end of it. It belongs to us now. "Owen said. "That used to be my R2 unit and you are erasing it. "Padme shouted. "I don't care. "Owen replied. "You can't keep Luke here forever. "Padme growled. "After what Obiwan did to Anakin. How do I know he won't do the same to Luke? "Owen asked. "Could I have some blue milk? After not eating for years, you kind of miss it. "Padme asked? "Owen he can't stay here most of his friends have gone. "Beru said. Padme drank the milk. "It was Palpatine who caused Anakin to fall to the dark side. Obiwan made some mistakes in training him, but Palpatine turned him. "Padme explained. Luke started to leave. "Where are you going? "Beru asked. 'I've got to finish cleaning those droids. "Luke answered as he walked out. Padme disappeared.
The Imperial Senate was mostly empty as Palpatine's pod rose from the center of the room. Palpatine began to speak. "The senate is dissolved for the duration of the. "Padme dressed as Queen Amidala when she addressed the senate during the Trade Federation Invasion appeared behind him. No one could see her but Palpatine. "There is no emergency. I just want to get rid of the senate because the death star is operational. I am a Sith Lord. I tricked Anakin Skywalker into joining me by putting visions in his head of his wife dying in childbirth and I lied to him about learning the power to save her. "His voice was squeaky. "What's going on? Why do I sound like this and why did I talk about Anakin? I tricked the Republic senate into creating an army and I created the separatists to make the jedi look evil. I altered the holo vid of them trying to kill me to make it look like treason. Why can't I lie?!" Palpatine shouted.
Vader and Leia were watching the speech on the bridge of the Devastator. They both could see Padme, yet neither said so. "I've never known the emperor to get tongue tied. "Leia snickered. "He has a nasty virus on his shoulder. "Vader replied "I let Padme died so Anakin would fall. She was a threat to me. They were too strong together. I gave myself absolute power to rule the galaxy. Palpatine returned to his office under the senate hall and Padme met him there. "That is impossible. I am too strong minded for mind tricks. "Palpatine growled. "I can mind trick anyone know matter how strong minded they are. "Padme replied and she changed back into her steel blue nightgown. "I just robbed you of your greatest weapon. Lying. The truth hurts buddy. "Padme snickered. "You little creep! "Palpatine shouted as he shot force lightning at Padme. "Give it up already. That doesn't work on me. "Padme laughed. Padme disappeared.
Luke entered the garage and pulled out a droid caller. Threepio appeared from behind a speeder. "Please don't deactivate me. It was all his fault. He wouldn't stop babbling about his mission. "Threepio said. Luke ran up the stairs and outside. He grabbed his macro binoculars and searched for Artoo. Padme appeared by his side. "I can't see him anywhere. "Luke said as he scanned the horizon. "He is too far to see with that. "Padme replied. "Should we go after him? "Threepio asked. "No. It's too dangerous with all the sandpeople. "Luke replied. "Luke I am shutting the power down. "Owen shouted. Luke headed inside with Threepio.
