Chapter 1: Lightning and psychic power awakened
October 26, 2016 – 4pm
Tonight was Eric's Party. Sean was trying to impress a classmate of his crush Jenn. Lyla a.k.a the matchmaker his best friend was know to be a goofball decided tom help him out with a simple text. The two has been best friends for a long time. Sean felt a burning sensation throughout his body. Like a spark waiting to ignite, he didn't let it bother him. He passes by his neighbor Brett, who was mowing his lawn.
"I'm so pumped for his party, oh come on now Sean, you know that Jenn is hype to see you at that party." Lyla walks down the street with Sean next to her. She constantly teases about his crush on Jenn.
"It's not that, for the past couple of hours my body feel like it on fire." Sean was walking down the block. He started to sweat, when he reaches his house the two teen sits on his porch and light a cigarette.
"Oh come it's need to be nervous, didn't you fucked that blonde hair from Choir?" Lyla smokes a cigarette and passes it to Sean.
"Oh mean you mean Mindy, it has nothing to do with that, it's more like I literally emerged from fiery pits of hell." Sean leans back on his stoop, he makes a fist. Suddenly it turns into a bright blue color. To his and Lyla's surprise, his fist turns normal.
"Holy shit, did your fist turned into lightning?" Lyla was dumbfounded about what she just witnessed.
"When your dad comes home?" Lyla stands up and grabs her bag and stands by Sean front door.
"In a couple of hours, Daniel should be inside." Sean also stands and grabs and head inside of the house and goes inside.
"Maybe we should go to the backyard, like holy shit you have lightning powers." Lyla was stocked about Sean new powers.
"Who got lighting powers?" Daniel is Sean's little brother who overheard their conversation. He was wearing a wearing zombie mask and a button shirt with fake blood on it.
"Keep it down will you, and meet us in the backyard." Sean and Lyla heads to the backyard with Daniel right behind them.
The three of them is now at the backyard testing Sean new powers. He starts by moving one of his fingers in a circular motion, he managed to launched a lightning bolt. Next he waved his arm up and down and managed to get his whole arm to become lightning. Lyla and Daniel was fascinated with Sean's fire power. An hour later Lyla decided to head home and to gather some things for the party.
"Alright boys I have to head out, call me later there's so much to before the party." Lyla exits out of their house.
Sean gathers some snacks, sleeping bags and drinks for the party. Their father Esteban enters the house after a long day from work. Sean and Daniel greet their father, Esteban immediately knew that something was up. Sean didn't hesitate to ask his father for a few bucks for tonight's party. Esteban gives him $30 bucks, Sean heads to his room and calls Lyla. Daniel heads outside and play.
"Hey Lyla got everything we need?" Sean sits at his desk and open his laptop and scrolls through his Social Media.
"Got everything I need, how about you?" Lyla asked.
"All good on my end, I'm starting to get a hold on this lightning." Sean constantly turns his hand into lightning.
"Try not to show off tonight." Lyla responded.
As the two teens were chatting, Sean noticed that Daniel was getting picked on by Brett. He interrupts Lyla and heads outside to defends his brother. Brett had fake blood on all over his shirt.
"Look at what you did you little shit." Brett with full anger grabs by his arm, Sean pushes Brett and had Daniel stand behind him.
"What the fuck is going here?" Sean stands his ground and confronts Brett. He balls up a fist, trying not to ignite his lightning powers.
"This little retard got his fake blood on my shirt." Brett rushes towards Sean, trying to attack Daniel.
"It was an accident." Daniel defends his action, but Brett wasn't buying it.
"Fuck off Brett he's just a kid." Sean was starting to get upset with Brett. He was ready to fuck up Brett.
"I want an apology." Brett pushes Sean trying to make lose his balance. His eyes was fueled with anger and hate for the brother.
"Oh yeah motherfucker, you can forget it." Sean pushes Brett back making him lose his balance. Sean makes a fist with lightning and punches Brett.
"Ow that stung you dickhead." Brett tries to punch Sean, but he instantly missed. He gets back up and constantly misses.
Sean turns both of his into lightning, with each punch Sean lands, about 1,000 volts of electricity stinging Brett from the inside and out. Brett was too stunned to continue fighting, Sean lands one more punch, causing Brett to get knocked out and he ended up being unconscious. A cop car approached the boy, a rookie police officer by the name of Kindred Matthew. Noticed that Brett was unconscious, he checks his pulse and got no response, he pulls his gun out on the brothers.
"What happened here?" Officer Mathew was getting shaky with his gun and hand. He was trembling nonstop and couldn't get a hold of himself.
"Nothing happened I knocked him out in a fight that's all." Sean explained the situation, but the officer didn't believe him.
"Doesn't look like it, he's dead, now both you on the ground now." The Officer commanded the boys, they complied and got on their hands and knees.
"Come on this is bullshit." Sean and Daniel had no other choice but to complied with the officer's order. The brothers slowly got on the ground.
A couple of minutes later, Esteban rushes outside to see what the fuss was about. He noticed that his sons was on the ground with a gun pointed at them
"Officer please let them go, they're good boys." Esteban vouched for his sons, the boys are yelling out for their dad. Esteban is trying his best to calm them both down.
"Listen everyone just stay quiet and let me think." Officer Matthews tries his best to keep his composure, but he couldn't keep it together and he accidentally shot Esteban.
Everything turned silent, the officer was in disbelief about what he did. Sean noticed that something was with Daniel. A few small rocks was floating in the air. Daniel with a lot of anger in his heart pushes the officer into his patrol with a lot of force causing him to die instantly. Sean realized that he wasn't the only one with powers. October 30, 2016
It's been two days since after Esteban's death, the brothers continues their journey on the roadside. Daniel starts to feel exhausted from the journey, his sneakers started to wear down. Sean was shocked, after witnessing his brother awakened a power of his own. Now they have powers, but Daniel is not aware of it yet. Daniel constantly asked about their father, but Sean hesitated to tell him the truth. Eventually they encountered an empty car with a choco bar inside. Sean turns on of his into lighting and breaks into the car and takes.
A few minutes later the brothers found their way to Mount Rainer Natural Park. Sean noticed that some of the trees had a marking on them. One of the boards revealed that they're called Trail Blazes. They were the practice of marking path around the park, to alert them on what turns to make. Sean takes a map of the area, after examining the map a little closely, there is a gas station 20 minutes away from their location.
They boys makes their way towards the beach known as Nisqually River. It was a small river, but it was a beautiful river. It was still bright outside. He had time to practice using his powers. Daniel recently discovered his own powers, he starts by floating some small branches. But he doesn't remember the first using his powers in Seattle. There was a large rock where they could take shelter for the night. Sean makes a quick call to Lyla to give them an update on how they're doing.
"Hey Lyla, it's me." Sean said as he watches using his powers.
"Oh thank god, it's been a whole day, since we last spoke." Lyla sounded relieved to hear Sean's voice.
"I know, we're lucky that the police can't trace our call, I was somehow able to be an electric barrier around my phone." Sean informed Lyla of his new abilities.
"Ok that's actually smart, have you been doing practicing as of late?" Lyla asked.
"Well we're at an empty beach now, perfect for practicing, there's something else." Sean preparing himself to reveal another secret.
"What is it?" Lyla was even more concerned about the brothers.
"Daniel has powers of his own." Sean revealed.
"Holy shit, that explosion the other day?" Lyla sounded really nervous.
"Yep, but he doesn't remember anything about it." Sean informed Lyla.
"Just be careful out there, Eric canceled the party after what happened, everyone is worried about you." Lyla informed Sean.
"Tell everyone I'm fine, but don't mention our powers, I need to practice before it gets late." Sean noticed the sun going.
"Well do, don't be to reckless out there." Lyla said.
"Gotcha." Sean hangs up the phone and heads towards.
Daniel is by the river, having branches moving a circular motion thanks to his psychic powers. Sean thought it was the best way to practice his aim. Daniel launches a branch one by one, Sean shoot a lighting bolt at each one. Sean see a few trees, it was perfect for him to amp up his melee attacks. Sean turns his fist in lightning, and punches the tree. He noticed that the amount of volts to increase. He started from 1000 volts to 5000 volts, causing him to deal even more damage.
Sean sets up an obstacle for Daniel, he has a small, medium rocks lined up next to each other his goal was to life the rock using his powers. He succeeded in lifting the rocks, he wanted to go for something bigger, but Sean refused. It was getting late, the brothers gathers rocks and branches to start a fire. They both managed to catch a few fish for dinner. Two hours later the brothers takes shelter under the large rock. Sean revealed to Daniel that the goal is to reach Puerto Lobos, Mexico, they eventually fall asleep.
