It was a beautiful day on the Albonquetine's island, and three kids were just sitting under the palm trees with nothing to do. "This is so boring!" Mike commented, she was starved for entertainment as she was from New York, the city that never sleeps.
"What do you purpose we do then?" Lu asked as she rolled her eyes, the self-proclaimed princess didn't want Mike to mess with her island. "I could build you something." Og suggested to Mike, he was quiet, but really good at recreating the things Mike talks about.
Just before Mike could respond to either of them, Og's mother Margery came over with a brown-haired girl that only one of the kids knew. "Molly!" Mike exclaimed happily, she got up and ran to hug the new girl Lu and Og now knew as Molly.
"Mike!" Molly replied enthusiastically, she and Mike hugged each other. "Who is that mom?" Og asked Margery, his mother smiled. "That is Mike's cousin Molly, she's come to visit." Margery answered with a smile to her son and niece.
"Another city girl?!" Lu cried dramatically, both she and Og could see the resemblance between the cousins, only Molly had brown hair that was in a braid and, she had on a pink t-shirt with blue shorts, still though, Lu didn't want Molly on her island.
"Why didn't you tell me that you were coming to visit?" Mike asked Molly, her cousin gave a small smile. "I wanted to surprise you, so I didn't say anything." Molly answered honestly, Mike accepted the answer with a smirk on her face.
"You did always love surprises." Mike said as she nudged her cousin, the two laughed as they started talking. "I'll leave you four to talk while I get lunch ready." Margery told the children; she was going to make a big feast in honor of Molly's visit.
Lu and Og watched as Mike and Molly conversed since neither of them knew how to join the conversation until Molly gave them an opportunity to introduce themselves. "So, who're your friends?" Molly asked Mike at last.
"I'm Og and I like to invent things that Mike tells us about." Og said with a smile, he and Molly shook hands before she turned to Lu. "I am princess Lu, and this is my island!" Lu stated proudly, Mike looked at her cousin as she shook her head at Lu's introduction.
"It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, your highness." Molly said playfully with a mock bow, Mike and Og laughed while Lu took what Molly said seriously. "Finally! A decent person gets it right." Lu responded as she held her head high.
Mike, Og and Molly laughed again which left Lu confused. "What's so funny?" Lu asked in annoyance, none of them answered her. "I'm going to play with Lancelot! Come, Lancelot." Lu said as she pulled on her pet turtle's leash.
Just as Lu was about to leave, her father Wendell and Uncle Alfred showed up. "It's time for lunch childwen." Alfred said with a smile, he, Wendell and Old Queeks had already met Molly when she first arrived, but they didn't know much about her.
Molly looked to Mike for an explanation about Alfred's way of talking, so she told Molly that he had a hard time pronouncing words with the letter 'r' in them since he has speech impediment, which made Molly nod with an understanding look on her face.
The four children followed the two adults back to Og's house where Old Queek's the elder of the Albonquetine's was waiting for them with Margey so they could eat and get to know Molly better, once everyone was seated, they ate as they talked.
Everyone became impressed as Molly told them about her performances in her and Mike's school theater, ever Lu was secretly impressed, not that she'd tell anyone that. "What play will you be in now?" Wendell asked in wonderment.
"We'll be doing the 'Little Mermaid' next." Molly replied bashfully, Mike saw the look on her cousin's face and smirked. "Why don't you sing one the songs from the movie?" Mike suggested slyly, her cousin's face turned fire engine red at that.
"I-I don't think anyone wants to hear that, Mike." Molly responded with a stutter, Mike's friends were confused by Molly's words, but regardless of that, they wanted to hear her sing. "Give it a go!" Old Queeks demanded Molly.
Everyone else smiled and egged Molly on before she turned to Mike. "You know I'm going to get you for this, right?" Molly asked with a glare, Mike shrugged innocently as Molly thought of which song to sing from the movie.
"Okay, I know which on I want to sing." Molly said with a sigh, she quickly warmed up her voice with some vocals as per her theater teacher had her and the other kids in her class to do so as not to strain their voices before a performance.
Molly finished her vocal warmups then looked at Mike who had gotten out her portable music player, and turned on the music as the Albonquetine's quietly chatted in excitement before they settled down to listen to the young 11-year-old sing.

At the end of the song, Mike's friends were all stunned into silence by Molly's performance as they had never heard anything like it before while Molly herself was nervous since none of them were saying anything to her, so she looked at her cousin for help.
Mike began to clap for Molly which got the others to snap back to reality before they too started clapping. "That's worthy of my royal approval!" Lu said with an arrogant smile, while the others just clapped and praised Molly's talent.
The young girl smiled bashfully as she bowed for her audience. "Thank you, everyone." Molly said humbly, while she had done performances for her school, Molly had been worried that the islanders wouldn't like hearing something that was not of their culture.
Which is why they had given Molly a chance since Mike had been the one to bring it up first. "What was that about getting back at me?" Mike asked with a laugh, her cousin playfully swatted her arm as they both laughed together again.
After lunch, everyone helped Molly practice her lines and songs for the play as everyone, including Lu had fun with it, sadly though it was time for Molly to head home back to New York as Mike and the islanders became sad.
"I'll see if I can become an exchange student to the island, sometime." Molly told them, it was promise that the islanders hoped that Molly would keep as they waved good-bye to Mike's cousin which she did the same before leaving their sight.
"She better come back, as I princess Lu want to hear her preform again." Lu said to Mike haughtily, Mike laughed in agreement. "My cousin always keeps her promises." Mike responded to Lu, everyone hoped to see Molly again soon.
