Chapter 2: 20,000 volts of power

Bear Station

It is now morning, the brothers hit the road and finds a gas station on the way, it had a couple of mini picnic tables on the outside. It was called Bear Station and it is run by Doris Stamper and her husband. The brothers went inside to buy a few snacks and camping supplies. With only a few bucks left they didn't have enough to a buy a soda. Sean looks around the station and encounters a man by the name of Brody Holloway. He was an online travel journalist, who creates blogs about his travels. As the two were getting acquitted, Daniel spots a puppy in a box. He asked Sean if it was alright to keep it, Sean refused, the brothers barely had any to feed themselves.

As Brody starts heading out, the boys grabs a map and head outside and plan their next move. As they were sitting outside. An old man with a pale wrinkled complexion by the name of Hank Stamper, approached the boys. He starts asking if they were alone, and where their parents were. Sean and Daniel immediately got up, but Hank blocks them.

"Easy now what's the rush?" Hanks grabs Sean by his wrist, while Daniel runs into the forest.

"Get the fuck off of me." Sean turns his into lightning, zaps Hanks.

"Ow that fucking hurt." Hank was in pain, Sean hits him with a lightning punch with only 10,00 volt of power.

"Fuck you asshole." Sean looks around for Daniel, but gets knocked out by Hank. He wakes up and finds himself handcuffed inside of Hank's office.

Felling a little woozy, he overhears Doris and Hank arguing. He sees a desktop that contained security footage of the station. Sean had a plan, take out Hank and grab as many supplies as they can. Hank enters the office, he knows that Sean and Daniel were the prime suspects of the Seattle murder. He leaves the office, Sean releases him from the cuffs, he Daniel hears from the outside. He opens the back door and had Daniel be on the lookout. He coats both of his fist lightning and destroys the security feed and everything in the office.

"Sean are you ok?" Daniel noticed that his brother had a bruise on his head.

"I'm alright, but prepare yourself, and let's get this bastard, knock out his wife with your powers if necessary." Sean informed his brother.

"Alright let's do this." Daniel was ready to roll.

Sean and Daniel burst out of the office, Hank approaches the boys, Sean constantly punches him with lighting attacks. He eventually paralyzes Hank, and then proceeds to zapping his head to make him forget he ever saw them.

"OW you little shit that hurts." Hank get on his feet after being stung from Sean's punches.

"Bring it on you racist asshole." Sean continues to hit Hanks, he noticed that his power was starting rise a little more. He feels that he had now reached 20,00 volts of power.

"That's it I'm calling the police." Hank tries to reach his office, he sees that everything in it was destroyed. "You destroyed my fucking office. "Hank said in anger.

"You kidnapped a 16 year old and had him handcuffed in your office. "Sean tackles Hank, with 20,000 volts of power, his attacks get stronger and stronger.

"Ok ok I give I give, just leave and we'll just pretend we never saw you, you already destroyed our security feed." Doris defends her husband.

"Nope can't risk it." Sean grabs Hank and zaps him in order to lose his memory. But unfortunately he used too much power, and he ended up electrocuting his brain causing Hank to die.

Doris was in shock at what she witnessed, Daniel uses his power to unscrews the shelves behind her causing the items to fall on top of her. Sean grabs as much can foods, supplies as they can get. The boys hit the road again and sees a car passing by. It was Brody, he gave the boys a ride, everyone hears a bark coming from a car. It was the puppy from the gas station, Daniel took it after the attack. Sean gave in and allowed Daniel to keep the puppy. He named it Mushroom, the boys eventually ended up on a beach. Sean told Brody everything that went down at the station, Brody was shocked after hearing that.

"Wow that is some heavy shit." Brody said.

"I know that racist bastard got what he deserved." Sean responded.

"I don't blame you, luckily if that accident ended up on the news, the police won't have any leads, destroying their security feed was pretty smart, here take this." Brody believed they did the right thing, he gives Sean a key to a room at the Three Seal Motel and a bandana, so they forget each other.

"Oh no I can't take that." Sean tries to give Brody back the key.

"Come on I insist, what you did back there was badass, you earned it." Brody gives Sean back the key.

"Cool thanks." Sean puts the room key in his pocket.

"Don't sweat it, I have to hit the road now, be safe out there." Brody waves the brothers goodbye and drives off.

Sean and Daniel makes their way to the motel room. After they entered the room, Sean heads to the bathroom and turns on a hot bath for Daniel. Sean noticed the all the items in the room was floating. Daniel was angry, he found out on the news that their father has been dead. Sean activates his lightning powers and smash anything Daniel throws at him.

"Why Sean did you lie to me?" Daniel started to get a little out of control.

"To protect you, the explosion that killed that, it was you." Sean explained.

"I don't remember." Daniel started to calm down.

"Of course you don't, which was the whole reason why I didn't tell you about." Sean approaches his brother.

"I had no idea, I didn't mean to kill him." Daniel sounded a little terrified.

"It wasn't your fault, it happened so fast." Sean explained.

"But still, you could've told me you big dummy." Daniel playfully punches his brother.

"I know I know and I'm sorry." Sean hugs his brother.

"So now what?" Daniel asked.

"We leave and move on to the next town in the morning." Sean heads out to the balcony and call Lyla.

"Sean thank goodness, have you seen the news about the gas station owners?" Lyla said

"Yeah Daniel and I killed the owners, it wasn't our fault." Sean explained.

"Oh my god what happened?" Lyla sounded terrified.

"The owner handcuffed me into his office, luckily I destroyed the security footage." Sean told his side.

"Holy shit, they mentioned that someone destroyed the station, along with their security footage, they have no leads but, both of the owners are dead, why did you do it?"

"I didn't mean to, that asshole was going to call the police on us, he knew about the Seattle incident, it was self-defense, I only meant to zap his brain to lose his memory, I didn't realize that my growing powers was growing fast." Sean looks at his free hand.

"At least tell me this, how many volts did you reached?" Lyla sounding concern.

"20,000 volts." Sean answered.

"Oh fuck, that's a lot of power." Lyla replied.

"I know, I have a feeling that I reach even higher than that." Sean said.

"Please be careful, out there, everyone still misses you, it hasn't been the same without you." Lyla explained.

"I had a feeling, just tell everyone I'm doing fine, but remember, don't mention my powers to anyone, I love you." Sean said.

"Of course, I love you too." Lyla hangs up her phone.

Sean heads back inside, and lays down on his bed. He looks over and Daniel playing with Mushroom. Sean grabs his bag and counts what ever can food they have. A few hours later, everyone falls asleep and gets a goodnight rest.
