The first thing I saw was the bright, massive sign overlooking the entrance. In the night, despite the heavy rain that was falling, the absence of neon lights still functional anywhere else in the building, the image of the giant brown bear was still illuminated with a yellow and powerful light. The animal, but also the name of the place which I still couldn't make out as I slowly left the road to enter the parking lot.
On this one, a car was already parked, and a person was next to it, hidden under a massive umbrella. Him too, only the light of the sign enlightened him.
"Fortunately, I said to myself, he's already here."
Five past midnight. I was late, but knowing that the place was abandoned, it would have been rather strange for me to show up early. For the moment, I would prefer to hide my enthusiasm as much as possible at the idea of entering the place.
When I parked next to the man, and opened the door to get out, I was obviously greeted with a reproach.
"First night. Last delay tolerated."
"Sorry, I lied, I got lost on the road."
Not having an umbrella on me, I tried to hide under my coat. Vain effort, since in a few moments I was soaked to the bone. I was hoping the discussion would end soon.
"It's not easy to get lost though, replied the guy in front of me. The town is tiny and the restaurant..."
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza
It was the name that appeared in red below the brown bear. Indeed, difficult during the night to miss the ultimate exterior vestige of this macabre place.
"Well, you already had the right to the briefing, do you want me to give you a tour of the owner?"
"No, no, thank you, I replied, just give me the keys, and I'll manage."
A rumble sounded in the distance. The storm was approaching.
"Okay," the guy said, obviously in a hurry to get home. "You have my number. Contact me if there's any problem. I'll be back at 6 o'clock for the end of your shift."
He handed me the keys, which with a wet hand he placed in mine.
"Good night."
Then the guy hurried back to his car. Immediately, he started the engine and his headlights came on, breaking the darkness of the surroundings for a moment - but only for a moment, until the car pulled out onto the road and started to drive away.
"Yes, I had replied. Good night."
