A voyager luncheon.
One fine spring Sunday Princess Dianna of Yensid and prince Carter of Farmington entered the ballroom at the nicest hotel in Voyager city. They were there to attend a Luncheon and awards Ceremony. They were seated at a table with several other royal voyagers, Including Princess Dorrie and her Husband prince Fredrick, princess Candice and her Husband prince Everett. Also at our table were Princess Lucinda, who has been my best friend since we were 12 years old, Princess Sofia, Princess Amber, and Prince James.
Today would also mark the day Princess Isabell became an important member of voyager society. Today, Lady Juliet, aka princess diana, becomes voyager commissioner. We were sitting discussing recent travels. I asked did we ever tell you about our trip to meet Hellen Keller on March 3rd, 1887, no said Lucinda will you tell us about it.
Flash back Carter and I had only been Voyagers for maybe 6 weeks when our supervisor asked us to go on what she called a practice mission. We were sent to make sure a woman named Annie Sullivan became the tutor for a blind deaf girl named Hellen Keller. We were told that we needed to make sure Annie had
all the tools she needed to get the job done. We, as you know, can't give out all the details as history needs to be left alone. So, I left the story there.
And started telling them about a few other recent adventures. I said our next mission a few weeks later was to assist a man named Stevie wonder become a great musician even though he was blind from a few weeks after he was born. This was caused by a problem due to being born too early.
I then told them about an adventure we had been on just 2 weeks prior. We had been sent to meet a man named Franklin Roosevelt, who was what is known as a president so basically the king in America. At age 39 he became ill with a bad disease, and he ended up needing a wheelchair.
I then went on to tell them about our biggest mission yet, it was also one of our most dangerous. we along with several other voyagers were assigned to help a woman named Harriet Tubman. She was born a slave in March of 1822 and as a young teen suffered a major head injury. This left her with several disabilities. When she was about 27, she escaped slavery. I remember parts of this said Dorrie. Candice and I were among the Voyagers there with you. I forgot that I told her I was so nervous, that I didn't really pay attention to who was there.
Part of our mission was to help her help others escape to the north. This was hard scary work, but we did it with help from the others. After I finished telling the rest of the story the awards were announced, Carter and I won most brave for our part in the Harriet Tubman mission. I am very proud of this as I didn't feel brave one bit.
But according to Commissioner Juliet we were brave in ways we didn't even realize. We also are now official voyagers and earned or rank as voyagers in charge of keeping disability history on track. This is a very big deal as there are only few disabled Voyagers. I then told the group we would see them when we had a chance as we needed to go back to school.
